The product is easy to setup/configure and manage via a nice web UI.

The API helps us manage and monitor the backup and replications.

Nachteile

The product could provide better visibility into the storage usage of VMs being backed up. When using forever incremental backups, there is no reporting capability making it difficult to account for storage on a per VM/customer level.

It is running under linux, therefore you can deploy it really fast. The Director and Transporter paradigm makes it convinient to set up in different environments, from air gapped clusters, to edge servers and more.

Nachteile

It does not support RBD as a storage repository out of the box, I am still waiting on that option to be available.

What I particularly like is how easy it is to use, both for scheduling backups and for restoring files or VMs.
Another point is the great responsiveness and friendliness of the staff in the event of problems.

One negative point is the choice of version and the change of options over time.
The features of the versions have changed over time, but on the other hand, the support service finds appropriate solutions.
Like other programmes, you often have to upgrade to the next version for a single feature.

i have been using nakivo for different clients from 2-3 years ago. It is automated which simplifies much of the labor. It´s easy to manage and installing it as a virtual appliance doesn´t requiere much of resources . This way we can use what we already have.

I use Nakivo Backup with my customers every day. The software is easy to install and use and does an excellent job of backup, replication and disaster recovery. The price-performance ratio is very good, and many of my smaller customers can now use a reliable backup software!

For me, there are currently no features that I miss. For my customers and me, the software is a backup software that covers all requirements.

It's really easy to use solution with legible, elegant GUI. NAKIVO lets to back up both physical host and virtual machines. If you use M365 you can protect your Exchange, MS Teams, OneDrive or SharePoint data within the same backup software. You can store your backups in multiple location using transporters and repositories features. Very useful is implementation of the feature of monitoring the whole virtual environment.

Probably the most annoying is configuration of email notifications and it's a little difficult to gain access to advanced settings. The feature of monitoring require separate licensing.

I liked how fast it is. Backing up a virtual machine, even offsite and doing it encrypted, is very fast. It is pretty easy to use once you get a feel for how it works. The email alerts are also very helpful, I can leave Nakivo unattended so it just runs on its own and simply monitor my email for alerts on if the jobs were successful or not. Their support is very good as well if you need help.

Nachteile

Updating can be a real hassle. It depends on your environment though, but with me updating my NAS transporter version ended up turning into a much bigger process than I had anticipated. Their support was able to get me up and running again, but still I wish it was easier to update on my own.

Installation is very simple and straight forward. NAKIVO supports all (modern) Windows & Linux OS-versions, even my ARM NAS is supported. The software itself is very inuitive, the dashboard gives a good overview of the backup and restore process.
