The best thing about this software is the ease of use and peace of mind. You can schedule backups very easily, Everything runs fast & smooth, Its been running here for over 3 years without a single problem. Updates are pushed easily, Verification of backups is also amazing. And the best part is it intigrates with Hyper V and when restoring a backup of a virtual machine it automatically imports it into hyper V and everything works perfectly. Windows Server Backup utility is unreliable compared to this.

Nachteile

One of the things i liked least about this software is when an update was pushed one of the servers we had didnt receive the update and needed some quick troubleshooting, but their customer service team was able to help out within the hour and was amazing and very helpful from the first reply.

Vorteile

The best feature in Nakivo is the VM backup.
The VM backup is simple to deploy and the maintenance is very little.
Nakivo Backup & Replication is very easy to use and configure.

Nachteile

Updates on Nakivo VA can do only via host but not via web GUI and in my case it was very slow.
Could you please develop this thing?

I have installed NAKIVO on both Synology NAS and as a virtual appliance. Setup and configuring is very easy. I only use it with VMware virtual machines. With a paid license for VMware NAKIVO makes the needed config changes automatically. If the VMware free editions you need to do it yourself (VMware limitation), but it's still easy. Backup, Restore, Disaster recovery all work great! The subscription license if very affordable. In case of hardware problems you can get up and running very quickly.

Nachteile

I really don't have any major issues with NAKIVO I don't like. Some minor issues I didn't really like the web interface were all changed with a recent release.

When VMWare is not working properly, Nakivo could not work properly.

since we use nakivo backup and replication we can perform operation that would be very expansive using vmware license, for a very very affordable price, and even if our infrastructure should increase in the short time we can upgrade just the license to cover all the new devices we can use. we use nakivo backup and replication on qnap devices, and it covers up to 5 servers in the small environment. we can now perform operations that were expansive and difficult with very high automation.

Nachteile

An additional feature that would be appreciated is the disaster recovery automation. it could be improved using vcenter features.

Rapid deployment: We use Synology NAS devices for backups. The ability to deploy the app directly on the NAS itself was a big win for us. We reduced the load on our hypervisors and have everything needed for recovery on one device.

Nachteile

A web UI refresh would be nice but that is just a matter of personal preference. A mobile app would be great.

It's an elegant combination of Java and Linux with a straightforward web-based interface and it never lets us down. We feel completely comfortable with Nakivo protecting our backups and best of all, it means we don't have to install a load of Windows-based systems that we don't want or need just to run it.

Nachteile

It's not cheap. It does work out slightly more cost effective than Veeam, and the saving of effort and hassle of it being Linux-based was enough justification for us to buy it in the end.

It´s rock solid and fast. We backup on 10Gbps network to all flash storage. backup and restore is super fast.

Pricing can always be better. but it is still cheaper that the compatition. and just as good if not better.

Installation as well as updating is simple and straightforward. The web interface allows simple access to all functions. Backup and Restore works like a charm and the messaging in case of failures makes checking status a breeze. I like the excellent rates for data compression allowing to use backup repository far beyond actual capacity.

Nachteile

Weird product policy for features in the different versions of the package - We are working with edition "Essentials Pro", which does all it needs to do, but the calendar view is disabled. Absolutely understand, that functions are limited to higher editions of package, but a calendar view of your jobs?!

I was looking for a product that could meet all the needs of both enterprise companies as well as small commercial firms, and Nakivo proved to be the best choice. It has never let me down as I have always been able to rely on it when needed

NAKIVO Backup and Replication is a very easy to use software that has incredible potential out of the box. We have been installing it over the last few years in different types of installations, all very different from each other, and it works remarkably well. Without a doubt, its flexibility and scalability are a big highlight. Plus, in case you're short on backup space, there are a variety of compression options that are mind-blowing.

Nachteile

Sometimes, logs are a little bit hard to see. That's because there are some heavy internal problems. Nonetheless, when you ask for support, they answer in less than 24 hours with a very accurate solution.

It's great to see with a quick glance if any backup jobs have had an errors, any that have failed, r even ones that have completed successfully. We are yet to run into any issues with corrupt backups, or any issues whatsoever with recovering a file, a folder, or even an entire system.

Nachteile

The best feature in my opinion is the fact that Nakivo seems to handle an operating system, as well as any virtual desktops or servers whether vmWare or HyperV without so much as a hiccup. The fact that you can delve so much further into specific backups such as SQL servers / 0365 , where you can recover right down to the info your missing as opposed to entire databases is also a great feature.

We use it in a lot of our customers IT infrastructures.
The price is affordable for features in a virtual environment.
The linux-based environment for the server and the transporters grant availability, efficiency and cost reduction.

The ETA is not accurate as well as the progress bar.
Also the log and history can be improved.

It was quick to configure, it is easy to use and the reporting is really good. Updates are simple to complete and you can configure this to complete a backup whenever it suits you. I am confident that, despite not really knowing it is there, it is keeping my system backed up and safe, giving me real peace of mind.

I purchased the software through an IT company, they set it up and I have operated the software since. I don't really find anything that I don't like about it, or I feel could be improved.

I have been using the product for approximately 6 months and I was easily able to develop the configuration of the application, both for backups and for replication. I recently had the need to recover a VM and it worked perfectly, I also make replicas on a remote site and it works very well, the other thing I like about the product is the simple way to make my backup jobs immutable

Easy to deploy software, which is suitable for all of our customers. We like the possibility to run it as a downloadable virtual appliance. So, we always have it running in a few minutes.

Starting as a solution for backing up virtual infrastructures (vSphere / Hyper-V), it becomes more and more feature complete. Today it has all featured we need for our customers, including physical backup.

We really like controlling the software with command-line and API. Integration with our remote monitoring was simple.

Also, the sales team always finds good solutions, when there are tricky licensing request from our customers.

Nachteile

There are no real cons to mention.
Sometimes we wish, that the logs in the UI would tell more details, when it comes to errors. But we always were able to sort it out.

Three years ago, I've been looking for a solution to reliably and efficiently backup all of our virtual machines. NAKIVO showed up in my search, gave it a try and never looked back. It has made our backup and recovery process very easy and efficient. Once set, NAKIVO will do the work for you. We now have the peace of mind that our precious data are well protected and services can be restored in a shortest time possible.
