The best thing about confluence we can have all our document at one place with access to everyone who needs it. It is easy to manage the access level like who can view, edit, delete or access the document.
The document can be managed at company level or project level.

The name has to be always different i.e support we have a folder Name 1 and sub file under it as file 1 and if i have another folder as Name 2 , even under that we cannot have a file as file 1.

Confluence has been instrumental for our team as a central repository for our documentation, streamlining our workflow considerably by keeping everything from project plans to meeting notes in one place. The real-time collaborative editing feature is a game-changer, allowing multiple team members to work on the same document simultaneously, which has boosted our productivity during brainstorming sessions and project planning (especially when working across various timezones). Its seamless integration with Jira and other Atlassian products facilitates easy progress tracking and task management, creating a more cohesive working environment. Additionally, the range of templates available makes it easy to get started with new documents, and the ability to create custom templates tailored to our specific needs has been very useful. Its superior to platforms like Quip in the way that it handles pasting in content from other platforms/products (Excel for example). Its shared organizational structure also makes it much easier to use - because we can create one team location with sub pages, and organize them holistically rather than everyone having their own organization approach.

Nachteile

It takes a bit of a learning curve to get used to where you find everything. Additionally, granting access to people on different pages is challenging - to the point that it seems like we have to include IT in those type of requests - which shouldn't be the case, and is MUCH easier to do in Quip. The search functionality can also leave some things to be desired, as many times it takes 4-5 searches to finally find what you're looking for.

using the documents is easy, but navigating within it requires a training, and might take some time to get use to it.

For our development team, Confluence is an intuitive platform that just works!
It's easy to use, more performant than Sharepoint and has great Jira (the other essential tool we use for Agile project management) integration, given that both tools are from Atlassian.

The WYSIWYG editor is probably one of the best for a wiki software that you'll find - it is very close to MS Word, and can even handle importing MS Word documents.

The cost is a bit higher for a non-free team than other products, especially when a lot of wiki software is free or open source even. There are also a lot of knobs and dials for customization that can be overwhelming almost, although some may appreciate that.

Confluence is quite versatile in that I can use it to create documents, organize a project, collaborate on several projects just to name a few. I also really like that is has dedicated spaces for different teams to work on projects and allows for connection across our teams.

It can be limited and somewhat hard to use at first. On some of our projects it would be nice to have the ability to add some customization but we have not found a way to do that.

As a user, I have the option to create my own customized workflow , using the in-built templates on Confluence. One thing which felt hard for me while using confluence is to find docs from different spaces when too many spaces and docs are there. I think the main reason is that it would take time to arrange and keep the docs in correct places and name it correctly.

Perfect way to store documentation in a single repository. Seamlessly integrates with Jira (another one of the Atlassian suite products), bridging the gap between content sharing and delivery. Documents can be as public or as private as you like in seconds. Can be altered to your needs and be as complex or as clean as fits your needs.

Visibility to other data requires permissions to that data as well as the current data. It would occasionally be useful to be able to embed a view of other content that is locked behind restrictions on view/edit.

This is my favourite product from the Atlassian suite. I would choose it again and again, over any similar product. I have used some products which have a slight edge in some areas like text editing and document discovery but Confluence is such a strong all-rounder that it's hard to justify switching away from it.

Nachteile

There are two flaws with Atlassian products in my view, and both of them come down to usage. It's very easy for a lot of junk to be created in Confluence and it's not that easy to clean up. The other is installing lots of fancy plugins and extensions, which can easily slow down the system. Choose wisely and be prepared to remove plugins that cause problems. Confluence itself though, I have no complaints about.

In our company we make weekly sessions with different subsidiaries and each subsidiaries have a special scope to put info weekly.

Me and my co-worker can work at the same time in Confluence because the refresh time for the info is very fast, we can work in different tabs and all info are saved without problems.

We can save videos to review meetings in the Confluence pages.
