This is an app used heavily by other departments in my company. I use it to track where engineering and IT are on certain tasks. There's been relatively low adoption of this tool, myself included, but when I've used it, it's works fine and is easy to maneuver through.

Nachteile

My guess is this tool is more robust than I'm aware of. The whole thing is very austere. Maybe if there were some prompts or alerts, or Did you know... interactions I'd have abetter idea of just how useful, or not useful, this app could be. But, for what I need it to do, it does an adequate job.

We benefit from confluence very well when using it for our new employees. We have a learn roadmap that every new employee has to go through.

Nachteile

It's a little bit difficult to create a "roadmap" from scratch.

That employees could replace each other we use in the company this decision. I, as a system administrator, can say that working with the system is very convenient, everything is clear intuitively. I set everything up pretty quickly and did not hear any complaints.

Nachteile

A couple of times there was a hang of the system, sometimes the information is not displayed correctly when accessed from different platforms.

Fast, collaborative, easy to use and navigate in the app.

Sometimes when I clicked on an attached file/ picture it just automatically downloaded. Sometimes the enlarged picture will be a little off on my screen.

For internal documentation Confluence is the greate software. I think edit page feature is the powerfull feature.

For share documentation with customer Confluence is weak.

i like how easy it is to navigate confluence, its ease of use allows me to find the information im looking for quickest.

The thing i like the least is that it isn't the most visually pleasing site to look at.

User experience can be improved. I wish the editing functions would be more flexible.

The most interesting thing is the collaboration between the team, and the annotation function that generates actions.

the difficulty in accessing it is what I didn't like, as it requires the atlassian website to connect.

We use Confluence to maintain the complete company software documentation. Its is a good tool.

I haven't used the software to most so couldn't say anything bad at present but so far it is a good product

When creating documents, a short history of changes is saved and there is an opportunity to add comments. There are a lot of ways of formatting. It is easy to upload documents and images.

Nachteile

A huge number of options at times complicates the usage process. The cost of the product is quite high. Too not clear structure of folders at a stage of creation, besides, search needs improvement.

I like the amount of flexibility creators have when it comes to page layouts and designs.

The interface is a little plain but functional for the purposes we use it for.

You can limit access to only people in your organization. Also the pages are WYSIWYG which makes it easy for anyone to make edits/additions to pages

There are a number of Macros that you need to purchase if you really want to make the most out of your pages.

The ability to edit in real time is my favourite feature. Confluence makes working together as a team effortless and keeps everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

Integration with MS software could be better, and there is somewhat of a learning curve to using Confluence.

I like the ability to organize information and create quick pages together for Wiki, document organization and quickly get teams up to speed on initiatives.

It has intuitive design and functionality that is helpful to many different groups.

It is easy to use and most of the page editing tools are really intuitive. Incredible and successful the ability to restrict pages, this allows you to use the spaces to exchange ideas, information, etc.

Nachteile

The functionality is different from that of another system that I have used, and I would like this to be simpler. Formatting a table is complicated. The search function is also quite literal, it must have an exact wording to find what you are looking for, which can sometimes be a challenge.

Confluence is very useful when used in conjunction with JIRA.
It allows to write specifications and features descriptions and then link them to JIRA tasks.
It includes some nice editing features and plugins.

Nachteile

Confluence interface sometimes takes some time to refresh.
I also encountered some conflicts with the versioning of pages when several people edit it at the same time.

Confluence is like an internal Wikipedia for an organization. It helps in creating structure to everything going around in the organization. The option to create hierarchy for pages is a great feature - though it may not be a new one but really useful.

Nachteile

Certain features could be enriched/improved. For example, I found creating table a big task in a Confluence document. Such features are regularly used by people and should be convenient to use.

The interface can be buggy and as with all cloud doc services, discovery is hard.

Lots of features and functionality that can work for multiple types of teams and businesses. Able to pair decently well with Jira.

Hard to navigate for newer users, which leads to tough adoption. Given we (try) to use this software as a source of truth documentation, the lack of adoption is troublesome.

The pdf conversion was really really bad and it wasn't possible to send the pdf directly to the client due to formatting errors.

We are a small organization and are able to make use of the Free tier of Confluence and we believe that is the best part about it. Atlassian provides enough features in the free tier of Confluence that allow it to be beneficial if one decides to utilize it.

We are an organization that work with, and employ visually impaired employees. I have no issue using Confluence however my visually impaired colleagues have a hard time using it, as creating documentation is far from ideal. Confluence still lacks in the accessibility portion when creating documentation. It is fairly usable with screen readers when simply navigating the interface while reading/reviewing already created documentation.

We have been able to post several materials on this tool and broadcast it to the entire organization. It is easy to house HR policy documents, training materials and so much more.

Nachteile

It is pretty easy for users to access this tool but there is a bit of a learning curve for administrators. Luckily there are a lot of training materials available. The members of the Atlassian community are also very active and helpful.

It enables us to document in great detail the ins and outs for each of the different projects we use. It is easy to navigate and simple to link different issues in Confluence together, making the flow of learning quite easy.

Nachteile

It does have a ramp-up time for beginners to learn how to navigate to the different pages and is very hard to find from Jira unless you have a direct link.

It is easy to build a whole document hierarchy structure and the pages themselves and have them render well on major browsers, including pictures in the mix.

Nachteile

Some features suddenly stop working during a session, like numbering that won't react right or formatting issues like bullet points that don't behave as they should, and force you to close the browser and get back to it with all these problems mysteriously vanished.

We use this software for my job. We use it to access some files and tools. In all honestly it works fine and never fails to launch.

Confluence holds our company wiki which is a complete mess. I can never find what I need and struggle to get to what certain areas of the program.

Lots of branching in their organization, good version history, and interesting users.

Once someone at the company leaves, it gets really hard to fix their pages and they sometimes become Former User which is really confusing if you are trying to figure out who wrote some information or trying to see who to ask.

After only a few months of using confluence, the pages no longer become useful and information becomes hard to discover.

That importing websites from the old confluence to the new confluence is not as easy as it should be.

We have different pages for different usecase where we maintain all the information. We can style the pages with different formats. Also we can tags the teammates while making comments and integrate all jira tasks.

It is difficult to use for beginners. There is a feature of notify watcher, which is if checked then sends email to all stakeholders and creates unnecessary spamming.

One of the things i like the most is the way you can turn it so personalized, so each person get to understand it in its way. the instant information sharing makes team work easier and smother.

I like that I can create different spaces and that each space can have a hierarchy of pages. I also like how there is a mobile app that lets me view my Confluence pages from my phone. I also like how you can create custom page templates.

I cannot think of any downsides to Confluence. It works well for my needs.

It's easy to use and to make nicely organized and designed internal documents. On my team we use Confluence as an internal process management tool for people on other teams to reference.

It is very similar to google docs. I don't see a huge difference and it feels duplicitous. I don't know a better way to communicate this information, but I have a hard time navigating Confluence to find information I need from other departments and teams.

Seems to be able to do everything you would require of a tool that helped you manage a Wiki / knowledge base. Integrates well with the other Atlassian offerings, which is an upside if you're already in their environment.

Nachteile

In my opinion, it seems overly complex for what we use it for. So basically, if you want to get its full usage, there seems to be a high learning curve.
