it's a love hate relationship
Setup isn't difficult, but it's very time consuming. It's difficult to use the update product once you lose the initial program. I've changed computers that originally had the program installed (when it was a CD). After changing the laptop, and losing some information, including the CD, I wasn't able to prove previous ownership and had to purchase the new complete program which is much more expensive. I hope that problem has been corrected since I would think the d/l'able programs can be tracked more easily.
I call this a love/hate relationship because QB gets you to love the program, then makes it difficult to continue with the same program once the 3 years are up. They know they "gotcha"! but, all in all, it's a program I wouldn't want to do without when having a business. I also use this program to keep track of not for profit organizations, too. It's a very versatile program for any type of business. I used the contractor program and have been able to customize it for the Nonprofit. I began using QB in 2003. It's certainly grown since then!
Vorteile
I like QB for it's completeness to operate a business. It integrates your banking, your customer base and sales and/or estimates seamlessly. You can use it to email customers or print out what you need. There are so many facets to this software it'll take you a while to get to know them. Once you do, you'll be forever beholden to use them. It's hard to go back to a simple spreadsheet again. All invoices/estimates are custom-izable. You can use your logos and iven if you're a small micro business, you present yourself as a competent, savvy businessperson.
Nachteile
You must purchase a new copy every 3 years. Some of the features you get used to using become un-usable if the newer version isn't purchased. QB doesn't support many of it's features after the program is 3 yrs old. You can still use the program, but some of the conveniences are gone, such as emailing invoices, or payroll. QB has a habit of having you get used to their newer features and then take them away once the program is more than three years old.

QB has helped not only us but many thousands to know where we are heading in our business, thereby reach our corporate objectives and financial goals and survive in this competitive and challenging business environment by systematically managing resources.
Thanks, QB team for the great efforts you have taken and I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend QB to any small to medium scale user.

The best part in QB is that it doesn’t allow others to toy around when it comes to managing the ‘returns for your efforts’.
You don’t need to be an accounting professional to work with QB, but a little playing around with the software gives you a glimpse of the workings and gradually guide you through to become an expert in managing your financial matters yourself or even supervise a basic level staff member in handling your financial matters if it’s a small to average scale business. The passwords systems at various levels ensure the security and prevent manipulation of data by other fellow users. With long years of improvements and with the feedback of users of various levels and a variety of trades, QB has become the leader in this category.
QB has simplified most of the bookkeeping tasks in a diverse array of businesses be it services, trading, manufacturing or your personal accounts. It has gone beyond accounting software to function as an ERP in our manufacturing facility. It has become another machine in our plant with no complaints of overwork, no leave, no annual bonuses, and no work stoppages. If the accounts guy is away, I myself take his place with all other priorities. It’s so simple even for those who are not IT savvy.

whenever there are glitches, there are enough resources available in the community forums or the Intuit support team. Having said that, I wouldn’t say that QB is the only and perfect system, as there could be glitches during different applications, but with the help of the users, QB team can update the system for better performance for the benefit of all concerned.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
You can do almost anything with QuickBooks products.
Vorteile
I love the ease and convenience of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. QuickBooks has always been a goto product for me.
Nachteile
It seems like the cost of any product increases each year, as is the case with QuickBooks. The price seems a bit high compared to what it used to cost.

Quickbooks is slightly confusing but does the job.
It does help me prepare my records for my CPA. I used to have to hand enter every entry and it took days for me to get everything current. But once I moved to Quickbooks, it did offer some features that saved me many hours and made tax season a little less painful.
Vorteile
I like Quickbooks because it is fairly intuitive and helps me automate entries. I love the ability to import my bank statements which saves hours of entry. THAT right there is worth the price of admission for me.
Nachteile
I'm not a CPA. This program is not as intuitive to me as I wish it was and I struggle to navigate around once my task goes outside standard bank ledger information. Of course, in all fairness, I pull it out once a year to get all my tax records caught up so I can file taxes. It's a lifesaver, but I still wish it was easier to use.

Not For Everyone
Overall, we used Quickbooks for years, both desktop and online. In the end, we decided to go with Xero. It has most of the features of the desktop version and a decent UI that doesn't change every two weeks.
Vorteile
As this software has been around for so long, it is definitely fully-featured. There isn't much that is missing. Enterprise level support is there but it has to be "bolted on" rather than coming standard since the target market for this software is small businesses. Another pro is that you can buy once and not pay again for a couple years making it overall cheaper than the online options that are on a subscription basis.
Nachteile
Even though it is geared toward small businesses, you really do need to have some bookkeeping/accounting training and background in order to use the software "easily." It is not for the faint of heart and there is definitely a learning curve. Also, being a desktop-based system, you're really limited in where you do your accounting. The online version makes this easier, but it is sooo far behind the desktop version in features and the user interface is nothing like the desktop version (and it's always changing, which is frustrating). There really is no "ideal" option when it comes to Quickbooks.

Easy to use
It served us well, for the period we used it.
Vorteile
This software is very easy to use, even for people with little accounting background. We used it in our office for 3 years. We were able to do bank reconciliations, track our expenses and come up with financial reports such as the profit and loss, balance sheets and management accounts.
Nachteile
This software would be considered expensive especially to small organizations such as ours at the time. It would be good for bigger organizations that have bigger cost allocations for such expenses.

Great for any company, big or small
I have used Quickbooks almost exclusively across different companies. It works great as a system to track sales analytics for retail stores, and also I have used it with startup companies to help plan financials. It is a great system to adapt to any business at any stage.
Vorteile
It is very adaptable to many different businesses or industries. There is a lot of integration with different platforms for web development, sales, POS systems, and more. It offers a lot of functions and price plans for different levels of companies.
Nachteile
It can be a little confusing if you are not fully educated in what is important for financing. The subject in general can be a little daunting for someone working on their own business.

Great Program
Vorteile
First, my uncle is a CPA - he told me that QuickBooks was the best software for any small business.
I totally think this is true. It is organized and can easily be uploaded or sent to a tax person.
Nachteile
No cons really except that now it is download only. I want to buy it for my own small business my husband started. I guess I am old school, I prefer disks. I want to download this and have it not subscribe to it.
If this is the only option I can find for it I will still likely use it as is. It is something you want up to date.

Owner of golf course
Based upon the extremely limited training on the software I would rate the overall experience as good. I felt additional training would have greatly benefited me.

It did help record income and expenses for the course. This is critical when trying to determine the profitability of operation, and which departments within the overall operation were profitable or that needed additional attention
Nachteile
With the price of the software I was disappointed with the additional charges or licensing fee associated with the program. An example would be the payroll tables needed to generate payroll checks. I was a little disappointed with the lack of training the software came with. I was able to function without any outside training, but always felt that I was barely scratching the surface of the programs potential.

Great for Small Business
My overall experience with QB is more on the support side. I've had some companies lose valuable information due to the corruption of the main data file. This is why backups are so important. But the positive of QB are great, as long you have a good backup solution you are golden..
Vorteile
QuickBooks does a fantastic job for small businesses by automating so many processes that larger companies need an accounting department for. It helps stream line payroll, invoicing, payments, etc.
Nachteile
The hard part about this software is how it saves its data. It saves everything in a single file which the file can grow extremely large and cause issues with backing it up and corruption.

Works well for what it does
After having worked with dozens of clients and assisting them with the setup of QuickBooks, it has been generally positive. A couple of times I have had to reach out to Intuit support, but usually they're very helpful.
Vorteile
Overall, the software works very well as a generalist accounting software for a small to medium-sized business. It is easy to install and get working right out of the gate.

Many different yearly release versions instead of just having the software, then paying yearly for updates as necessary.

Long standing solid accounting program
Like my title says - a solid accounting program that's been around forever. Most people that use computer accounting programs have used QuickBooks - and learned how to use a computer - because of this software. The Desktop version has the main benefit of multi-company use, plus a more secure environment being offline. The online version has a ever growing list of integrations (such as websites) and integrated apps (such as inventory, Salesforce, MailChimp, etc.). Everything is moving to the cloud, so having your entire company's accounting system at your fingertips - wherever you are - is the greatest benefit of all.
Vorteile
I guess the feature I like best is that they still offer a desktop version - which is great for old time clients that are not cloud ready, and it also makes migrating from the desktop to the online version pretty seamless.
Nachteile
There's a distinct lack of features between the online and desktop versions - but the one the I like the least is the ability to have multiple companies. In the desktop version, it's simple - just create a new company/company file and your good to go. For the online version, you need to open a second company and then PAY for another company. That's not good QuickBooks, and actually forces me to keep a few of my clients offline!

Smooth and very efficient product
Overall Quickbooks is a great user friendly product. I strongly recommend it to my peers and other customers.

The thing which I really like most about Quickbooks is its understandable nature. Another great thing about it is that it facilitates the users in managing business debits as well as credits. It has brought so many revolutions by allowing users to classify transactions, track mileage and many more.

In my opinion Quickbooks is the best ever product which fulfills all our accounting needs. Overall it offers excellent features and functionalities. There is nothing negative in it.

QuickBooks is OK
QuickBooks served us well for our business purposes. However, because we had the Desktop version, we were needing to buy the latest software (hundreds of dollars) every few years or so. That was on top of the subscription costs (hundreds of dollars), payroll costs (about $100 a month) as well as all of the additional costs for the Merchant Center. I didn't have to contact their customer service often, but usually I was on hold for a long time before dealing with multiple agents, so it usually wasn't a good experience. Additionally, when we made the switch from QuickBooks to Patriot, I had to make numerous calls to their customer service because I was misinformed and our account was not cancelled as requested. I wasn't able to get our account finally cancelled until I disputed QuickBook's nest charge on our account. Very frustrating! Patriot does everything that QuickBooks does, most of it automatically (unlike QuickBooks), for a fraction of the cost.
Vorteile
QuickBooks offers everything that you could need to financially run and report on your business! I used QuickBooks Desktop along with their Merchant Services, which allowed us to automatically charge customers on a monthly basis.
Nachteile
There is almost nothing automatically done, and the system is a bit convoluted. My biggest issue was the price, they seriously overcharge on everything.

Fast and easy to use
I get an accounting software that is fairly easy to use, as well as a platform to interact with clients on.

The product is pretty easy to use. It is essentially the industry standard for small business. Using QBOA makes using QB easy.

If you actually know about accounting, it doesn't work as you might expect, it is more for people without a technical background.

Great bookkeeping software for basic needs
Easy to use and quick to get up and running.

QuickBooks is a very easy to use for most people and will get you managing our accounts and paying employees quickly.
Nachteile
Interface is very confusing and takes awhile to adjust to. It's critical that you spend the time to set up accounts, payees, customers, etc. the right way at the beginning or you will be dealing with issues for years.

Great small business software
Overall, it's a great inexpensive option for small business owners managing their finances that allows for people unfamiliar with money to process their business earnings.

This is a very straightforward software that even tax novices can get the hang of. The system itself is fairly easy to navigate and there are supports along the way.

Quickly with Quickbooks
Quickbooks has been a true lifesaver. I can’t afford an account with my start up however with Quickbooks I don’t need one. This software does it all.
Vorteile
What I most like about the Quickbooks software is how quickly bookkeeping goes. Once set up , running a financial report, generating a cost analysis, getting our payables and receivables completed, it is a breeze. This software is like having an in house accountant.
Nachteile
What I liked least about Quickbooks is the setting up of the accounts when you first get started. It would be wise to make sure you have someone who knows their way through the software thoroughly to walk you through things because things can get confusing and you don’t want your numbers wrong. The support tabs and user interface are a little intimidating if new to financial software and syncing in everything together is a bit more complex than a simple personal checkbook and app on your phone. I see why there are complete courses in school to walk you through things.

Good but a little pricey
I have always found QB easy to use and pack with all the essentials I needed but I can't help feeling Inuit should launch an entry level vision for start-ups.

This is the most intuitive accounting software I have used. It also has online guidance should you need.

The only real setback to this software is the subscription price. The lowest level is still too expensive for some independents.

Have used QuickBooks for several years. It's a great value for both personal and business...
Vorteile
For small business owners it is is most user friendly. For those who have little to o accounting skill. The software is able to guide the user and avoid errors in processing. Payroll and accounting is made simple for those who use QuickBooks.

It might give the user the impression that they have no need for other professional services, such as accounting/finance. There may be some errors (man made) that a CPA could avoid. No real cons.

Overall, I enjoy using QB for my small business.
Vorteile
I am self-employed so my experience is using the QB:Self-employed. I am by no means a professional when it comes to book keeping, and I am a fairly new small business owner. That being said, I enjoy the simplicity and step by step guidance that allows one to navigate and utilize QB. I can easily track miles, input receipts, and keep track of business expenses with well organized spreadsheets.
Nachteile
I worry about security, but that is probably just me being paranoid. The only other thing is I don't like being lead to "additional features" that are embedded in the process that want to charge additional fees for using them.

Not a pro, but was able to learn it fairly easy
Vorteile
I loved that they really thought of a lot of the forms for end of the year reports when creating this software. Quickbooks is really good at pulling data and inputting it in forms/sheets for you that you will need later.

Overall getting this program setup correctly was really tricky. If it's set up correctly, it is a lifesaver, but the inital setup was pretty overwhelming.

User Friendly
With Quickbooks I am able to create a purchase orders, enter items into inventory when received and create invoices for payment upon delivery. This controls inventory and helps to keep the cost of goods down. The payroll feature is very user friendly, tracks time worked and time off.

This software is so easy to use! You can perform most business office functions with QuickBooks. I like being able to run a busy office from tracking inventory, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and payroll.

Expensive and a little glitchy.
Essentially, the benefits I have received are in the business I have gotten straightening out others who have had difficulty using Quickbooks.
Vorteile
It is a decent bookkeeping system for businesses with many capabilities. The reports are solid, the capturing expenses directly from banks and connecting to other Intuit software is pretty good. It does a great job "remembering" which accounts frequent transactions have been categorized to in the past.
Nachteile
It essentially markets itself as something any small business owner can use, however, it really is necessary to have the basic understanding of double entry accounting. Help is not easy to find (and they frequently try to get you to purchase help from outside bookkeepers and accountants) so as a business with clients who have used Quickbooks, I have spent a lot of time straightening out their books (not one of our core service offerings). It is also relatively expensive when looking at very competitive competitors in the same space.

Handling our small business accounting was a breeze
I used quickbooks for years while I was handling the invoicing and payroll for a small landscaping company. My overall experience was great. No real complaints.

Simple, easy to use for the basics of accounting. Invoicing was really simple and quickbooks made payroll much easier than our alternative.

I wished that backups were more simple and I had wished that everything was on the cloud. Local storage for information that important is no good.

I don't hate it. In fact I'm really grateful for this service. I find it really helpful and convinient to have such service. Makes life just a bit more manageable.

Menu screen is easy to read, it doesn't take to long to get a hang of the program since it's pretty much self guided with explained links. Plus it makes it easy to organize your files allowing you to upload your receipts and any other important information that will come in handy when filling your tax report and at the end of the year. At the same time decluttering your mess of paper that just piles up
Nachteile
What I felt is needed for this program is a better customer support services. Sometimes the software tends to crash which is a one of the other issues, this happens once in a while when the file is a bit bigger than the software could handle. Over all I think they should concentrate on Direct Customer Service and a software update that prevents these crashes by making it accept bigger size files.

I have used Quick Books for several businesses and non-profits and have always been pleased.
I have been able to manage my accounting process for several different businesses and non-profits over the years. The biggest benefit that I have received is due to the ease of use it is not time consuming and I am able to take care of my entries in a time efficient manner. Another benefit of Quick Books has been the organization of my files in one place so that at tax time everything is already computed for me.

The thing that I like most about Quick Books is it is easy to use. When I have run into a problem and not known what to do, the helps menu has always been able to answer my questions. The navigation from one area to the next is very easy and effective. I like that I can personalize the departments for my business needs and am not stuck with set departments.
Nachteile
The only problem that I have had with Quick Books is when I did not enter an opening balance for a bank account and later on decided to enter an opening balance in the Chart of Accounts. This caused some discrepancies on my financial reports.

Could Not Be Happier
We've literally transformed the way we do all of our financials. Quickbooks make it easy, fluid, and much less of a pain than it used to be. It has been SO worth the money.

My favorite part about it is that it's so incredibly user-friendly. There's no feature that we'd wanted or needed that it didn't already have. The fact that it's easy to use yet incredibly comprehensive is my favorite part of it.

QuickBooks is a program that helps you stay organized in your business endeavors. It can help you enter payments, balance your account, make bank deposit slips, and create invoices to send to customers. This program has many features that help you stay organized, without using lots of physical books and papers. It's all on the computer.

It does take a little bit to learn how to use this program, but once you understand it, it is fairly easy. At first, I had to take notes on how to do what and what to click on to get to where I wanted to go.

It's been the trusted "go-to" for years!
I have used it in all platforms for years for clients and personally. I've been able to extract information to produce tax returns and as a tool to show some of my friends/clients the reports that can help them evaluate their company. I feel anyone who has a basic understanding of accounting can easily enter into the program and, with the tutorials, set up a good baseline to work with.
Vorteile
It has all the basic needs in one package and can provide even the most inexperienced with the guidance and tools they need to set up an account for business tracking and more!
Nachteile
From an auditor's perspective, there are some security issues that I would be concerned about with regards to management overrides and the ability to manipulate things within the program. If the program has a separate module that would allow an auditor (or even the company's senior management) to review the database for any modifications that could be construed as fraud or manipulations to entries, that would be valuable.

Most powerful software for accounting
My overall experience about this app is awesome. It is no doubt matchless software that has made accounting even more easier. This software is widely used for conducting Payroll functions as well as for reporting income and sales tax.

QuickBooks has been an outstanding software that provides perfect solutions of accounting. In order to start using this software, a person just need to have basic accounting or computer skills. It has made accounting easier by linking banks transactions along with already prepared customers' invoices. I would say it is the most reliable and helpful software in all means.
Nachteile
QuickBooks does not have many complaints. I will appreciate QuickBooks customer support team which is no doubt very responsive and active on resolving the issues. We were facing an error and after little discussion being good customer support, our error was resolved. There was a short while and we got rid of that error. It sounds amazing.

Best that I know
I use this once a year for bookkeeping in preparation for filing taxes for our two small LLCs. As far as bookkeeping software goes this is very easy to use, though it's not intuitive enough that you don't at least need an orientation.
I love that I can share access to my account with my accountant. No emailing files or bringing my pc to the office; I can just grant access and they can look at it on their own computer and their own time.
It's easy to navigate the chart of accounts and reports in order to check over everything and make sure everything adds up correctly.
This program is really too big for managing personal finances. It's almost too big for our small businesses. If you are looking for a product that will serve your needs for managing personal finances, I suggest checking out Mint, which is also owned by Intuit.

-I like that it's online and easy to access so I don't have to dig it up when I do taxes once a year.
-The feature where you can grant an accountant access is particularly useful.
-The reports are also very helpful.
-It has worked well with my bank for importing transactions so that I don't have to enter everything manually.
Nachteile
They are sneaky about hiking the price while you're not looking. It's subscription based. They changed my plan on me and I had to go in and edit it to downgrade. They probably sent me an email about it, but I didn't see it. Still would rather have this program than the old version though.

From an IT perspective
I would recommend this to any small business for the ease of use and keeping up. Most small business owners want this to be as easy as possible

Watch out folks for unexpected account upgrades.
Watch out for their unexpected upgrades to subscriptions you don't need. I noticed when my credit card was expiring and could not downgrade the subscription to what I should have had to begin with. Wasted half an hour on their "help" menu and it doesn't match what's available to me as a customer. Called the next day and their own customer service couldn't figure out how to do this and had to go through two people to process this change. She was frustrated as well. After a solid hour on the phone, something was partially done but would not take effect for 24 hours so it would require another call to finish the task.
This is absolutely ridiculous and appears to be by design. Shame on Intuit for this scheme to rip off its customers. You're too big a company for this petty behavior. Get your act together.

Accounting Made Easy
Quickbooks makes accounting across the board seem a less daunting task. The reminders to pay bills are a great help. It helps you stay organized on an accounting platform, even with little accounting experience. Even though a first time user might feel a little overwhelmed, Quickbooks overall simplicity will sort that out in no time.

Quickbooks is very easy to use even for those with little accounting background. It’s pretty user friendly. Makes bank reconciliations, budgeting, and other accounting tasks simple to complete. Step by step instructions available and reminders to pay bills, etc are also available.
Nachteile
For a first time user the introduction can be overwhelming. There are multiple tabs which can make it confusing, but once you know what you’re doing it’s fairly easy to handle.

When it comes to ease of use you can't go wrong with Quickbooks. They also make transitioning to another software(ERP) very simple, you can almost just do it at the click of a button.

Quickbooks for Business Use Is A Good Software
I've used both the desktop and the online version and they are both good. If the online version had all the features the desktop version does then I would say it is better than the desktop version.
Vorteile
With the online version you can access from any computer at any location. Very convenient. You can create invoice from your phone and email them to the customer on the spot.
Nachteile
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles the desktop version has. Some importing features are no longer available.

Making taxes fun
Vorteile
I really love this software. From the customer service section, to the breakdown of various taxes, this software is a life saver.
Nachteile
Literally nothing. This is one of the best software programs out on the market.

Great Capabilities for the Small Business
There is definitely a learning curve to QuickBooks, but overall it accomplishes what most businesses need for keeping their books up-to-date and tracking.
Vorteile
Quickbooks has an online version which I found very beneficial for my home-based business.

Constant updates and paying more money each year and having to keep up with tax schedules.

Quickbooks is a great solution
It's a great solution that isn't cost prohibitive.
Vorteile
Quickbooks integrates well with the other software we use, and it's very simple to operate for our accounting department.
Nachteile
There are many versions, and sometimes it takes us a while to get the most up-to-date one, but that's an internal issue, not a Quickbooks issue.

QuickBooks
The Quick books software has helped me have a seamless approach with my business.
Vorteile
I liked the fact that I could do all of my billing through this software. I could do payroll as well through the Quick books software. This process has streamlined my billing and tax solutions.
Nachteile
The only thing as of now that I do not like is the price, it is a bit high but looking at all the benefits it is well worth it. The idea of a more affordable software for billing and payroll would be great.

Perfect for Self-Employed or Small Business
Overall I have enjoyed my experience with QuickBooks and I believe if you are ont he smaller end it is very easy and cost effective and value adding to your Company.
Vorteile
QuickBooks is easy to deploy and very useful. I've worked with small companies who have used and also have family members who use it to help keep track of their small businesses. As an accountant I know fo the importance of keep finances in order for your businesses and QuickBooks allows people to do it easily and cheaply. My favorite feature is the ability to generate invoices and paychecks and easily keep track of vendors, contractors, and employees.
Nachteile
QuickBooks does have a learning curve. The first month of using it will take a few seconds to understand how to navgate from page to page as well as to understand you can 'drill down' (i.e. click for more information) on basically anything. But just getting used to it and adapting to accounting can take some time.

Not the best for small non-profits
QuickBooks is not best for small non-profits. Although there is some basic functionality, we were able to do much more with Donor Management Software.
Vorteile
The main feature I liked was being able to keep track of our transactions and produce basic forms. It allowed us to do a better job accounting for our donations and reconciling our bank statement.
Nachteile
As a small-nonprofit, we could not take advantage of most of the features. It seemed like it was geared more towards for-profit companies and I think you are better off going with non-profit specific donor management software. We switched to a DMS and have liked it much better.

The Right Accounting Tool for your Small Business
Vorteile
It certainly lives up to its name - the new dashboard makes navigating and using the software quick and easy. With customizable report templates users can generate what they need, when they need it. Add-ons make for hundreds of other possible uses.
Nachteile
The online documentation is definitely lacking, and unfortunately QuickBooks does not offer any dedicated project-tracking. Still two thumbs up in my book though!

It gets the job done.

There aren't many other good options for a small business that needs our accounting software to integrate with other products.
