Teacher Friendly
Vorteile

Communication is key in our industry this app allows parents to see pictures, receive messages and stay up to date with center events

The app is perfect for keeping parents updated. With any technology the app can sometimes show a delay in sending information to needed parties. May since issues with freezing.

Brightwheel is an easy to use, educational management tool. We love it for its simplicity and quick use.
Vorteile
It is very easy to use! The ability to use profile pictures makes check in and check out so simple. Parents love how easy it is to use.
Nachteile
My only complaint is a typical technology complaint- it glitches sometimes and unchecks students. It's an easy user fix if there is only one person signed into the account.

Easy to use and great functionality
This has made life easier for our teachers and raised satisfaction amongst our parents.

I love the simplicity with which the app operates. It is attractive and easy to use. It has great features like picture sharing and it keeps parents updated with very little effort for teachers.

It is expensive but with such a great product it is worth the expense. You get what you pay for and you get great quality.

Staying in touch with Families
The pros of Brightwheel outweigh the one negative of not accessing multiple classes easily. We love the ease of sharing the information about our students.
Vorteile
Brightwheel allows us to capture information on each student all in one place and more importantly, share important information with our families. They can see and read what is happening all day long!
Nachteile
Brightwheel only allows the user to access one class which is frustrating if we need to be in another classroom with a different group of kids. We are not able to switch to another class to keep the information updated.

User friendly
I've had parents tell me how well the app works. We use it so parents can get updated about the kids. They can see what they ate and notes along with photos we post daily.
Vorteile
I love how user friendly it is. Its easy for the staff and the parents to use the system. Its got amazing features in the apps. The pricing is great and its got a super attractive app logo.
Nachteile
it needs more features i would have to say. Also when we first started using it we had issues with it crashing often but have since then never had the issues again.

Fantastic Childcare Management Tool
Vorteile
I used this as a childcare provider at a daycare and absolutely loved it. It was so easy and quick to use even with cranky babies and busy toddlers. Our parents raved about it often and loved being able to see child's progress in real time. Being able to easily track diaper changes, feeding times and amounts, sleep schedules, upload photos and videos of play activities and leave messages for parents was vital to my role as a lead teacher and cut down on added paperwork, checking for errors, and trying to remember what to tell the parents at the end of the day.
Nachteile
I have no critiques of brightwheel! I think all childcare centers would agree it's a great investiment for their busienss.

Parent Communication Ease
Overall good; but missing features with other programs we have checked out --
Vorteile
Like any other parent comnmunication software, it is good to have the app rather than paper notes.
Nachteile
I wish we could send longer videos
I wish there was a grammar/spellcheck built in
I wish you could have a main kiosk that showed sign ins as they are happening (so we can know the pick up person's name if not familiar yet)
I wish that you could cross post photos to "all" from the main kiosk (like photos of the meals)
I wish there was better reports available for student time in/out and staff in/out; we used center manager before and the reports are head and shoulders above. We may be switching in January so that we can take advantage of better reporting features.

Brightwheel is just what we needed for so long!
Brighwheel has made made my Directors job so much easier and convenient. Adding Brightwheel has been a huge selling point for our parents as they tour and make decisions about which program they will choose. Many parents told me this year they chose our school because they looked forward to using Brightwheel. Brightwheel meets so many needs!
Vorteile
We love the daily opportunity to have quality interactions with parents regarding their children's learning. We are getting actual feedback from parents and it has been very positive! They love Brightwheel.
Once we were familiar with the billing features on Brightwheel it has been so easy to use. Our parents can pay online making the financial relationship we have with our families easily understood, private and secure!
Nachteile
At this point I only wish for one last thing; to be able to upload our newsletters as a PDF and there could be a place parents could go and retrieve that information when they needed it.

Overall, I cannot imagine now not having Brightwheel.
Vorteile
Bright wheel has been a great communication between teacher and parents. I can keep records, send pictures and send messages. I believe this is an important tool in communication.
Nachteile
I don’t have any cons to this program. Needs WiFi . I once taught in a classroom that had one brick wall. That is when I had a hard time using any program.

LOVE this program!
I've used ClassDOJO and compared to that, I like this program a lot better and there isn't anything extra you have to pay for within the app.
Vorteile
This app is a parents dream! The check-in/check-out procedure is fast and simple if there enable the QR-scan code. The teachers can post meals, snacks, naps, and pictures of my child throughout the day. The nap function is my favorite because I can see how long he's rested for the day. I also like being able to message the teachers and receive notifications.
Nachteile
If you don't take your phone in, you'll have to check-in on whatever device they have for there facility. The response time is a bit delayed but other than that its a great tool.

I am very pleased with the implementation of Brightwheel in our program. I have received much positive feedback from the families and have been encouraged to tell other schools about the app. The support I have been given from the Brightwheel team has been professional, timely, courteous, helpful and supportive. I use this primarily as it was intended, as a means of communication with parents. The privacy is important and the way that parents only receive notices about their own child is valuable to the parents, children and school.

Vorteile
We like how we are able to communicate with parents quickly. Be able to attach pictures and videos was another plus for us. We got rid of our daily sheets so we use less paper.
Nachteile
Just as when we are getting used to a certain feature, as soon as we update the app, the change is instant. We are not given a heads up and it sometimes causes panic for everyone (both for teachers and parents). Like during drop off (which is a busy time for us) when parents see a change on the screen and then they ask the teacher (who has no clue that there was a change) this creates chaos and or uncertainties which is a very critical time for us. Also, we are still struggling to learn how to easily navigate the observation button.

Vorteile
Brightwheel is definitely one of the cheapest applications available in the market now. The fact that it can charge as little as 2.50 dollars per kid per month for such an exemplary service it offers is commendable. Also, the learning assignments tailored to challenge children minds is an awesome feature missing in most other applications that offer the same service as brightwheel.
Nachteile
The fact that brightwheel has filled a very crucial gap in as far as parenting us concerned makes it just perfect. It's a milestone!

Group Family Daycare parents love it!
I always recommend brightwheel to other daycare providers. I used tadpoles in the past, but made the switch to brightwheel. My parents are happy and so is my staff!
Vorteile
My two favorite features are messaging and billing. I love that I can message an individual parent, or everyone if needed. My staff is able to communicate with parents through brightwheel which eliminates having to use our cellphones. We use brightwheel from tablets that are accessible to everyone. I also love that I can send my parents tailored invoices with reminders. I would love to have staff to staff messaging! Coming soon?
Nachteile
There are a few quirks that I have come across, but the team at brightwheel is so receptive to suggestions! For instance billing: my parents wanted to make partial payments on an invoice. I inquired with brightwheel and it was implemented within the month! Amazing! Still waiting on staff to staff messaging. ;)

A great app daycares can use to communicate with parents
Overall, we really liked the brightwheel app. It was great to set up payments through the app and look at pictures and videos of our son each day.
Vorteile
We were able to check our son in and out with ease through the app. The daycare staff sent daily reports as well as messages about incidents, emergencies, or general things through the app too. The teachers took pictures and videos of our son and sent it to us so we could see what he was doing during the day. They also notified us of nap times, payments, and lesson plans.
Nachteile
Both my wife and I had the app on our phones. Sometimes I would get a message and she would not and vice versa. Also, we were not notified of messages all the time which was frustrating.

Overall i really like this software because it makes mine and the parents life easier, we used to have to write down stuff about the children’s day and use a lot of paper to give to each parent at the end of the day. Now communication is a lot easier and smoother.

As a teacher brightwheel is a great tool to use to stay connected to the parents of the children in my class. It helps me stay in contact with parents throughout the day and they also get the information so they can see how the day went and what their children did during each day.
Nachteile
I don’t like the financial aspect of the app i think that they could do away with that. The software can be slow at times but that may have to do with the amount of people using it at once.

Awesome app!!!
I like that there have been a number of updates to the app and each time, it makes the app that more enjoyable to use. Parents in my daycare feel connected to the children throughout the day and it gives my business the leg up in the child care industry.
Vorteile
The app is easy to use and has many functions for the use in my daycare. Parents love the app and families are referred to me ALL the time because of the unique system we use. The invoicing is super easy and I can set it up to where invoices are sent automatically. Life changer!
Nachteile
There’s nothing that i don’t really like but if i had to choose something, it’d be when I accidentally input a wrong item for 10 children and in order to fix it, you have to go in and manually change each child’s input. Can be cumbersome.

Brightwheel Review - Thumbs Up!
Overall, my experience with brightwheel has been very positive. I prefer this much more than recording everything on paper and sending it with parents.
Vorteile
I love most of the features of brightwheel, but I think my favorite is how easy it is to get in contact with parents. When a question or concern arises, it is much easier to ask them and receive a timely reply. It is also easy to send them a message when a child is running low on diapers or wipes rather than relying on closing staff to remember to let parents know at pickup. Another feature I like is the incident/accident report. It lets parents know when it happens and whether or not it is serious enough for them to be concerned.
Nachteile
Although I like this feature, it can be a con as well. It’s nice to be able to reach out parents so easily, but there are times when it can become a hassle based on the parents preferences for their child etc.

Brightwheel makes our day easier!
Overall we are pleased with the software and recommend it to other schools.
Vorteile
Brightwheel has made it so much easier for our teachers to stay in contact with our families throughout the day. It puts the parents at ease being able to message the classroom and see snapshots of what their child is doing. We also love being able to notify all of our parents of upcoming events, school closings etc in a quick and efficient manner.
Nachteile
Sometimes there are glitches in the video option making it difficult to upload. It's a great feature but with time it could get even better!

Overall it has been an awesome and easy way to keep the parents in the loop. It’s such an easy way to keep in touch with parent and they all love it. And getting the notes about what there child is doing throughout the day and the week.
Vorteile
I like how easy the app is to use. And all the new features that get added have been great. I really like how each child as there own message chat. So much easier to go back if needed.
Nachteile
I wish you were able to add/create lesson plans on the app on your phone and not just the computer. It would also be nice to be able to short videos in the free version. I wish there was an easier way to view photos they are too small and hard to see from the photo library so if there was some way to improve that. That would be great.

User friendly!
I enjoy Brightwheel and plan on continuing to use the app.
Vorteile
Extremely easy to use. I do not use this software for my own business, it is used by my sons daycare. Brightwheel gives my direct access to speak to my sons caregivers, the upload photos, and daily updates.
Nachteile
There is no live feed option to view security cameras, it also is hard to recover passwords from the app.

If it weren't for brightwheel, I wouldn't have been able to know my son needed to be picked up.
I don't know what I would do without Brightwheel when it comes to the safety of my son.
Vorteile
I love Brightwheel. My daycare uses it and it's so easy. I also love the easy payment notification at the end of the month. Also, I received an alert email the moment I was told my son needed to be picked up because he was not napping. It's a safety app knowing I know when my child naps, or eats, or had a diaper change. It's sweet how much the teachers also put into making sure parents are up-to-date. They also post photos of my son to me and it's adorable!
Nachteile
I may have forgotten my log-in, once, but nothing to worry about. I think the check-in part gave me a hard time once but it was resolved.

Vorteile
Absolutely love this softwares ease of use. The updates of photos, videos and frequent happenings are such a great brightener to my day!
Nachteile
The only thing I would like is if they made tax documents easier to compile at the end of the year. Having access to tuition statements is great but having a cumulative form at the end of the year would’ve been ideal.

Easy to use, great for communication
Brightwheel makes it so much easier to communicate with parents in realtime. We don't have to wait until the end of the day to update them and remember all of the things that their child did throughout the day in the detail that I can with Brightwheel.
Vorteile
I love using Brightwheel because it's easy and simple. I am able to quickly write a note to a parent or update a child's schedule using the simple picture tabs. I know that parents feel bette having feedback about their child's day in realtime, and with Brightwheel everyone's happy.
Nachteile
Sometimes a bit glitchy where I can't post pictures. Also, when taking pictures within the app, It doesn't save them to your device so if it doesn't upload the picture is gone for good.
