Vorteile

Pendo is fairly easy to use. They are coming out with new features frequently that help us and our customers. Pendo gives us the ability to create content without having to pull time from our Dev team.

Nachteile

Pendo core has been great for use. We recently signed up with Pendo Feedback and it has been great. There are some areas in Feedback that are lacking. We have been working closely with the Pendo team to try to relieve some of those pain points.

Great tool to submit product improvements and track and manage the lifecycle and deliver that data out to customers

Nachteile

It's become apparent that Pendo is a highly capable tool and as a user with a very specific use case, it's a bit confusing to understand the different segments of the platform. Not a huge deal - it accomplishes what I care about, but a bit confusing and silo'd way to get where I need to be.

Very powerful - does a lot of things right. Tables are insanely good - editable columns + export seems like it should be a best in class feature on every data related software. Pendo does it best.

Love how NPS + Engagement are graphed on a 2x2 - super smart and actionable.

Nachteile

It's pretty challenging to get set up without a developer to help you. To me it's not plug and play. If you have a smart developer setting up events for you it becomes substantially easier to deal with.

Doesn't work on Safari nearly as smoothly as Chrome which is fine but just a tad annoying.

Vorteile

The simplicity of the interface and what it offers can be misleading at first. The ease of use, features and insights that Pendo offers is unmatched.

Nachteile

Some of the online documentation is vague on details and background. The API is also very complicated to use as compared to other RESTful APIs on the market. I'd encourage more detailed use case and setup instructions that are easier to navigate.

We use this software mainly for page tracking and survey implementation. It's intuitive and easy to use.

Nachteile

It's not as granular as I'd hoped it would be in its metrics. What it lacks in depth, it makes up for with style.

Pendo gives my team insight into metrics that we would not be able to see without it. It really helps us determine adoption from our customers.

It can be a bit difficult to use at times but nothing that training cannot help.

Segments are powerful but filtering is still difficult because you have to create and save segments for almost everything you want to filter on. I find myself creating basic segments, exporting the data to excel and doing more complex stuff there.
API use/integrations are an additional charge

Vorteile

The best part of this software is that it allows me to create guides/walkthroughs and track features without requiring a development effort (other than the single snippet to set up Pendo). This has saved me a lot of time and resources.

Nachteile

My biggest complaint is that the interface for customizing the guide center is hard to use and there is limited information on how to customize this. Having said that, they just released a new interface for customizing the guide center. However it does not yet support all the features I need so I am unable to use it.

I love using Pendo guides any time we have an announcement or updates so that I can ensure our members are in the know in case they didn't see/read an email. Pendo is pretty easy to use once you learn it and I love the ability to segment your audience as well since we have different membership levels. There are also ways to track user behavior which definitely helps us when it comes to how we market to certain membership levels.

Nachteile

For the purposes I use it for, I haven't really experienced anything that I would change this far!

Nearly immediate validation of key ideas.
Sizzle, it's so easy, and it means I don't have to burn dev dollars on capturing new metrics.
Pendo peeps in Raleigh, always a pleasure to interact with them.

Nachteile

Inability in identifying abandonment.
Inability to apply multiple tags across one or more features.
Reporting needs to be rethought.

Vorteile

Being able to easily navigate the data with a clear interface. I personally use guides and the resource center a lot and this has really helped with target coms to users using segments.

Nachteile

Guides are great, but more customization is always welcome (Although I appreciate this is possible with the custom sandbox, it's just a little more work)

It's very intuitive and the product is constantly improving by adding new features and functionalities!

Nachteile

It can sometimes be buggy -- a web app refresh typically does the trick.

Started seeing results improving feature adoption with help of Pendo. As a Product Manager, I've tried different tools and techniques in past, but Pendo showed the best results so far. It makes me happy.

Nachteile

I was stuck setting up the flows several times and couldn't figure it out until I reached out to support. A room for UX improvement!

Vorteile

The product is extremely user-friendly once you get the chance to dive into it, with plenty of helpful articles to help you get the most out of the product. For me I really enjoy the amount of exporting you can do within the software, allowing you to quickly show other teams within your company the information you have been analyzing.

I would love if they allowed paths to be exportable like they do tunnels.

I love the ability to create guides and custom messaging for each of our customer segments.

To some extent, you need to know how to code in order to use the software effectively.

Integration has been very easy and once it's up and running it's basically code-free, which means that it's easy to set-up onboarding guides without the need for our development team to get involved.

The reporting of the guide performance could go a little bit deeper, and the segmentation of guides could be improved for guide retargeting.

Does exactly what it says it does - great for tutorials and pushing users through the platform.

Nachteile

The reporting is really not user-friendly or organized well for the end user. You essentially have to export and do it yourself. The need to make sure you have a good design to make this platform work for you. Having used a platform like Appcues previously, I don't think i would choose Pendo (personally).

-Visually appealing, strong UI design
-Powerful features -- NPS, customizable guides, widgets, etc.

-Customer support team is great, but not proactive; I only hear from them when it's time for renewal

I like that user data is tracked automatically, even if I haven't tagged it. This means that six months from now I can come up with a new question to answer, add the tags, and have all the historical information ready right away.

Nachteile

Some pages can be tough to tag when the matching rules aren't specific enough. It would be great to be able to exclude certain patterns so that pages can be distinct.

As a customer facing employee to our software customers, the data that Pendo provides is extremely powerful, to help us guide customers in better ways to leverage our platform for their business needs.

No complaints! Pendo helps guide our Product Mgt teams when enhancing our platform and helps customer facing teams in analyzing usage trends and addressing adoption challenges.

Setup for an Angular application was a little difficult.

If you're in a medium to enterprise size organization, it's required. I've relied on Pendo for mobile products, as well as web applications and it's a solid investment every time.

Can be difficult to understand how mobile subscription works outside of your main web application. You would need a lot of support to make sure it's up and running on both, and tracking the right data.

Pendo gives you a quick look at how your software is being used. One feature we like is the in-app messaging. Now, instead of relying on low email open rates, we can reach all logged in users.

Nachteile

The web and mobile versions are very different. The web is great but the mobile lacks some of the power features.

The use case of tagging pages to allow counting of my company's Data Platform pages has been tremendously helpful. The reporting feature is straight forward and I'm able to run any of my template reports in seconds.

NPS feature could use a bit of updating, but, to be fair, I believe the version I was using may have been in beta at the time.

The amount of value that this software has delivered my organization is incredibly impressive. We have at least 5 internal organizations (marketing, support, product management, UI/UX, engineering) that have all benefited from this software.

Tagging needs to support "has" CSS selector. This would be a HUGE help in improving tagging efficiency

Pendo is a great tool for looking at how your users are navigating your products. It gives you analytic insight to design and implement products your clients will not only like, but actually use.

The addition of the in-product guides and NPS allow you to communicate with your users in a meaningful way without disrupting their normal workflow.

Nachteile

Feature reach but sometimes function poor. Work should be put in place for admin users to get more ease of use.

Very customizable to provide in-app messaging, guides, walkthroughs etc. to all users, or specific types of users, and to have them triggered on a per company or per user basis, or when users perform a certain action. I like that we can add the messaging without having to go to engineering to hard code it into the page.

Nachteile

I'd like a bit more control over how many times it shows to a user and or when it shows. It currently can have a trigger of "first time the user logs in" etc, but I'd like to have the more flexibility to specify exactly how many times they see it. Example: User see's it ___ times with at least ___ days between exposures.

As a Customer Success manager I love using software like Pendo that allows me to get quick insights into product adoption and usage. Its easy to use and can be configured to our product.

Nachteile

Honestly my company's operations team just needs to do a little more configuration. I feel the software has what is needed to get me the info I need.

There are a few features that are nonintuitive. It took some time to understand that a "blacklist" is actually a way of filtering users from the pendo results.

Terrible biz practice. After a year of license, suddenly came and say we have to pay more because we are using more features. The features used are what they trained our team to use after the agreement was signed and also we paid for the training.

Pendo allows us to collect massive amounts of data on how our customers are using our products. This allows us in turn to use this data to make good data driven decisions on not only our road map, but it is enables us to connect with our customers in a way we never have before.

There are always features you wish a platform had.

I love the analytic features - it is helping identify healthy and unhealthy clients. It is also helping our Product team become more aware of how to prioritize initiatives.

Onboarding and Implementation process - We could have used more guidance.

I started using the software after it was already implemented, and it wasn't very hard to pick up. We rely on it for a lot of Customer Success processes, such as Support Tickets, NPS Surveys, and more and I pull a lot of account data from Pendo.

Nachteile

Sometimes I cannot remember off of the top of my head where to find the data that I need, and I'll have to refer to my original notes when I was learning. I think the UX could be a little better, but I never feel completely lost.

We use Pendo for user onboarding and it's worked like a charm. It's super easy to implement and define which users to target.

Nothing I can think of at the moment. It's worked perfectly during the duration we have used it.

The best part of Pendo is the ability to create funnels to see what steps are most commonly taken to get to to a location in the portal. Also being able to retro track after tagging features is awesome!

Nachteile

I have a hard time figuring out how to make groups. If there were quick how-to guides easily accessible, that would be great!
