We like it. We are new and still learning everything, but so far it works great for us and our needs.

MINDBODY Salon Software

Highly recommended to anyone in the fitness industry!

For the most part, the software was easy to use (which means a lot, considering how NOT good with computers I am!). It would be great to be able to do more while on-the-go, like change instructor for class on schedule. When a client late cancels or no shows, an auto charge option would be great. As well, on the express app a client can't be marked as a no show (as far as emailing them), only late cancel.
The support staff was always more than helpful. Whether I communicated via email or phone, every single person I dealt with was incredible! Thank you for such a great experience!

The easy choice

It was great that our trainer was able to meet with us weekly to help us learn the system.

Great for scheduling

Very powerful and feature-rich platform.

We have been using MBO for 6 years and the features continue to be enhanced. It is our go-to application to manage our business. There are some minor glitches with the platform, usually around the POS module but they said they were revamping that soon.

Their customer support is by far, one of the best. All of their employees are well-trained and are very helpful.

Average tool to gym management

Good basic program, fairly easy to use, many helpful features, good customer service.

Pros - many features that make bookings easier and faster. SMS option is fast and accurate. Easy to operate.
Cons - some bugs in the system, sometimes system goes down and that causes problems especially being an online system where there are no other options to use the system when the internet is down. Some features missing or unable to change options on invoices which makes the invoice incorrect and sometimes look unprofessional. When putting items on account for example and then paying out that item/invoice the service comes up as account instead of the actual service/item number/doctor details etc.

This is one of the best retention software programs yet!

Felt like it was 2000's software

Mindbody Online is incredibly expensive. On top of that, I was billed for an extra month beyond when I had cancelled.

Great if it works

The scheduling aspect of mb is great, but I have horrible experiences every time I try to check a client out. Sometimes it charges tax on the product sometimes not. And the worst and most frequent problem is when I get bill all ready, they swipe their card and whole program shuts down. I do everything mb says, close & reopen software, shut down phone & retry only to have same problem. Eventually they write a check or I manually put in their cc info (which costs me a higher % fee).

I would not recommend using mb on your phone. Get another provider and save yourself a lot of trouble and embarrassment.

Ease of Use but need options in reports

The program is easy to utilize for people checking in. I would like to be able to navigate from client to client in sequential order instead of having to enter an advanced client search. I would also like for the program not to kick me out after 3 hours; I speak of this due to the need for it to stay on overnight as we have no one manning the computer at 5 am.

Lastly, I would like to be able to customize reports. I am able to retrieve information but I still have to format it differently for my report purposes and it has its specific format of a report and doesn't allow me to customize it.

crummy program, crummy support

1. they promised a free first month...ooops charged for it
2. lost my whole file...ooops
3. because our currency is considered "exotic" (a new word for a currency), they give it in Euro's. Once you add all the exchanges and fees, adds up to about a 10% surcharge.

one thing....the people sound very nice and tend to giggle all the time.

Powerful software

Very good even though it didn’t fit our specific business needs.

the inconsistencies are too frequent

I've been using Mindbody for about a year. i book appointments for 12 instructors. the software is easy to use, but every once in a while things just don't work. Using the mobile app it will frequently duplicate appointments or completely neglect them. If I have to go back through and double check everything to make sure the software is working, that kind of defeats the whole purpose of the software. If I lose a client because they never show up on the calendar, I'm out a few hundred dollars and ding my reputation... i cannot afford that. they need to make it more reliable, and do so very quickly.

this is good if you are looking to take payment and appointments but you want more from I recommend you try something else. pay a lot​ of​ money to learn this lesson so if I can save you the money and the stress. you don't​ need to thank me

Feature-rich but could be more intuitive

Mindbody is a great place to have all my clients in one place, schedule as a group, have a leaderboard for activities. It pretty much has everything I need to run my business.

AWFUL

We have been using Mind Body for several months. I can say that all of the above reviews are pretty spot on.

They sell you on the fact they do everything. They don't. The software is difficult to use. The user experience of this software is a complete fail.

Like the others, as soon as I find another software I am leaving mind body in the dust.

Desperate for help!

Excellent inventory management, point of sale and online booking...I really don't want to give up the features of MindBody but i am very sad to say that after 8 years we may have to change software because we need medical billing integrated into our day to day point of sale and appointment software. We have been doing double entry for too long and with too much room for human error. I know you have a lot of other clients wanting the same thing. There are softwares available for you to integrate with on your API like Practice Fusion and Advanced MD but I can't get anyone to help me with that.

Love MindBody App and Website

I love MindBody and the service they offer. I am able to run my small business and keep track of what inventory sells and what services I clients receive the most. Running reports from this program help keep track of money coming in and how much retail product I sell and the taxes that I have to report. Its an all in one app for me on my phone. Not only can I book clients but I can also check them out on the same app. I do not have to worry about logging into one app to book clients and another app to charge them.

The best part is that the price is affordable for my budget.

How come all posts in March 2014 are positive?

I am still in Trial but I am not liking what I am seeing. I agree with Matt (read somewhere) "no login" for retail customers. They are so adamant about not having "Clean up" time, They are asking me to include that in the service time but not show end time to the customer (We are in Massage) for e.g. It is a 60 minute massage and 15 minutes clean up for therapist then the client "should" see only say 10.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m then I say my next appointment should booked not before 11.15 a.m ..too tired to explain,..the thing is I paid before trial i dont know why I did this

Frustrating

Initially we thought we had finally chosen the best software, 6 weeks later we are still waiting for our client lists and stock lists to be uploaded . I was lead to believe that this would be easy - not so!!! Clients were left out of the upload and stock not even added. Today I was told that it would be another 2 - 6 weeks before this is rectified, in the meantime I am unable to make use of the system. I have asked for a full refund and cancelled my subscription, not sure how this will end but very disappointed with the company. I certainly feel that I am just a number

In Contact with your Favorite Studios

It's a good app that saves time when I want to register or sign into a course. The studio I attend has a website as well, but the MindBody app allowed me to make appointments when their website was down.

So Easy to Use!

Awesome in many ways, with a few "dream" features desired

For the many complex operations MindBody covers, it is incredibly easy to use and the customer service is beyond excellent. There are a few features that would be great to have, that are missing from the service -- which, if they were implemented, could really up sales for our studio. As a Pilates studio which relies heavily on appointments, we really would love an automated waitlist feature for appointments that mimics the waitlist system for group classes. The product retail option is not very optimal, and not very attractive, so we have hesitated to really use it.

Overall I think this is an ok app. I had a hard time looking for a specific type of class in a certain distance from my house. I think the filtering abilities need a little bit more fine tuning.
