If you want to work with language like Scala, you will need this kind of robust, powerful editor. It does it's job perfectly.
Vorteile
Gives a lot more control over Scala code than VS Code, has great "intelligence" (CMD + click on function call will always take you to the right definition), built-in features like terminal and version control, very good code highlighting for Scala, detects TODO, good UX
Nachteile
Project setup and definition updates were slow but it's not because of the app itself

My goto IDE for JAVA
Vorteile
Personally, If I wanted to work on Java I will just use this IDE for doing Java-related stuff there is just no competition except their own android studio only if you do android dev.
Its Git and Github integration are so good like their other IDEs and these things I really like about JetBrains is that they maintain a lot of similarities between their IDEs so even if you switch between them you don't feel that uncomfortable unless you don't know that other language.
Nachteile
There are almost no cons if you are not that much picky, and yeah it consumes so much ram compared to code editors, so you need a good decent system to run it flawlessly.

Most powerfull IDE on the market
Vorteile
IntelliJ IDEA worth every penny, I really like all its functionalities and the ability to support multiple languages/enviroments without relying on lots of modules and third-party plugins.
I do recommend for professional developers and newcomers.
Nachteile
The learning curve could be a little steep but once you feel used to the software your productivity will boost. IntelliJ IDEA could be a little overwhelming for low-end systems, but it's easy to boost it and reduce memory footprint.

Easy to use and reliable. I just started to use it for mobile test automation and I didn't get any issues so far.
Vorteile
It is open source, you will have a wide support from users that is also using it and it is free to use. Doing test automation with it is easy with the help of other users.
Nachteile
Nothing really, there might be issues with supporting integration with web pages if they updated it and IntelliJ IDEA doesn't support that yet

Overall experience with IntelliJ IDEA is very good and better than Eclipse. I found it as one of the best IDE for Java development.

It provides amazing intelligent features that suggest and helps in completing development tasks. It also provides many useful plugin features, debugging features and version control integration.
Nachteile
Some plugins eats up huge amount of memory and slows down the processing. Powerful system is required to incorporate all its features.

Best IDE for java developers
Vorteile
What i like about the IDE was the ease of use after first trying to use it. It included a bunch of templates by default, some of which may be bloat but are of great use to someone else. The keymapping and shortcuts are amazing and the lack of having to configure a project manually, or modifying templates was a plus.
Nachteile
I used this software on college when trying to learn java, the worst part is that it is a paid product, but thanks to my university, I got a full license.

With IntelliJ IDEA I am more productive
the design is incredible and has some options that I will only find in it.

The autocomplete predicts perfectly and makes repetitive tasks are not tedious, it has many debugging tools necessary for a good development.
Nachteile
the free version does not have as many options as the payment and I think it consumes a lot of resources from my computer, but setting aside that is a great option for the development of JAVA.

One of the most dynamic IDE's in the industry

I've used both VSCode and IntelliJ and IntelliJ is far faster and more dynamic than VSCode. You have so many tools built in already where you don't need to add plugins.

Best to manage code in Java

I had been away for a while from the coding perspective but had to return to automate a few test. It was quite complex coming back but the ease with which Intellij got set-up and the amount of suggestions it offers with the ease of managing makes it stand out.

Pretty good IDE for a beginner and pro at the same time. I recommend it!

In my opinion IntelliJ IDEA is the best Java environment to code into.
It has version control that helps a lot. (I use GitHub)
A lot of project templates that you can choose from.
Good backend / server coding environment.

It is really slow at times, which is resonable but it could get some more work on this part.

Good IDE for software developers
Vorteile
I have been using Intellij for last one year. I had used eclipse earlier. Intellij is indeed smart and very good UI. Programming in Intellij would not make you feel bored. Inbuilt maven and server support is another plus.
Nachteile
First of all, you have to pay for this IDE vs eclipse is free. There is a bit of learning curve if you are switching from eclipse. It will require more memory.

Everything is laid out pretty simply. The dark mode is easy on the eyes and the different colors for different variable names/method names is very helpful. Additionally the debugger is extremely useful in pinpointing bugs and resolving them efficiently.

It has a bit of a long startup time, although that might just be my PC.

Used when learning Java
Vorteile
Easy to organize files. Once I figured out how to get the debugger to work (put in debug mode, of course), it was relatively easy to debug my code.
Nachteile
I had a difficult time learning how to use IntelliJ. Maybe this was compounded by me trying to learn Java at the same time, so maybe I just needed more practice.

First of all. I love user interface because for me interface is very important thing. IntelliJ IDEA available more tools, which make the programming much easier. Very important work for this software supports multiple projects from different programming languages. IntelliJ IDEA for me it meets all the necessary things for programming.

For this software I don't have any bigger things that I don't like except the waiting time while starting the program on an older computer

Ever happy since
I had always used eclipse and had been happy with it until they start to lag behind. Their git integration was horrible and so was the maven one. Because of these issues i switched to IntelliJ, and if IntelliJ keeps delivering the way they have been doing for the last years, i don't see myself switching to any other IDE... I Love how fast it starts up, its refactoring capabilities which in more than one occasion have saved me tons of hours... I also love how well integrated it is with all the major technologies, and the vast array of quality plugins and why not, the darcula theme totally rocks!!!
As a negative, i can only complain about some very sporadic issues where it would not recognize the syntax and need to go and reconfigure it again. But this is very occasional.
Besides that I'm avery happy customer and wouldn't use any other IDE for my job

The Best Integrated Development Environment Ever
I have used it to write JAVA codes and I just can't explain in words about how happy I was to use it. I also use Android Studio based on this software each and every day in my work and never feel like I am in the past days because of this modern IDE.
Vorteile
I have never found any IDE that can bean IntelliJ IDEA. This is the most awesome product for writing codes, executing them and building packages.
Nachteile
The only thing is that you might need to spend some time to find out some new features as it is integrated with a lot of them.
