I liked most the easy interface and versatility. My site was simple to create and a pleasure to use and return too regularly as I add content. It showcases my work well and although it is only my simple creation, it is more often than not more professional in appearance than company websites I interact with.

Nothing to dislike yet, though I did find it more complicated to sell products through my site. This was not my primary need for the site, and admittedly I have only played around with this aspect so far.

The process of setting up a website for my photography was straightforward for me, even though I had no experience with website development. The chat function for customer support was superb, with friendly, helpful people on the other end of the line. They are creative in helping and are patient as I tried to explain what I wanted to do, or what mistake I think I made. The price for the website seemed fair when compared to other services out there. The system is quite flexible, allowing me to grow my website in the future and add other features/pages to my website.

Nachteile

While the examples and directions on how to do certain things are helpful, they are definitely geared towards those who know what is going on. Perhaps they could add a glossary to explain some of the more important phrases or words, so a user without much knowledge of website development could better follow their examples.Beyond the above, which is probably related more to my inexperience than any fault of Pixpa, I am hard pressed to find a problem with Pixpa

Pixpa's customer service is very responsive and helpful. Whenever I encounter problems, I get helps and assistance in short time, which enables me to proceed to design a website that I want. The flexibility of design promises one to unleash creativity with elegance and functionality.

The only two aspect that I wish to be improved further is website's integration of multilingual website and booking appointment system. So far there are limits on these two features, I hope in the near future Pixpa can offer us with better solutions.

All in all, I have to say I am very impressed and happy with the service at an affordable price. I will continue to use Pixpa for a long time and I highly recommend that you do to.

Ease of use. This is my first experience with site building. The only steps required are: select a template, modify (add a feature, remove a feature, add a redirect, etc..) and save changes. Support team is very good. When support is required - it is a question of dropping a mail and getting an answer the following day, sometimes even within a few hours. Quite often they attach a small video with a step by step instructions "Click here, then click there...."

Pixpa has incredible customer service. You can get your questions answered and needs met any time of the day. They are very thorough and answer all questions in detail. Pixpa is very affordable and you get so much for the price. I am thrilled to have the educator discount. My website is beautiful and I was able to customize it exactly how I wanted it with very little web building knowledge.

The all in one approach. I did start with a first MVP of my website using a proposed template. Then quickly I did adapt it to my color pattern and specific structure. I love the client gallery that help me to provide private and secured access for my client. This is also an easy way to start selling this private shooting via the ecommerce bundle. I like also the notification of the activity. Now I am testing the store bundle in order to sell services and picture, the way it is made force me to think more on the product I will sell soon. So now I am more confident to start soon this new functionality of my activity.

Nachteile

The interface seems to be simple but you need to take time of the way the platform is embedded. This can be sometime confusing or not basic. But this is only when you want specific look en feel for your site. Maybe the link with certification services (trustpilot ...) can be enlarge to other provider and simplified.As a photographer I would love to have quality printing partnership in EMEA and France as this is where I am doing my business.

Beyond that, it does so for a really great price! And the articles that Pixpa provides with information and how-tos make learning the website builder much easier.

Most of the difficulties I faced were due to operator error, to be quite honest. I haven't come across anything so far that is a real downside.

What I like most is how full-featured this software is for a photographer's website. It's easy to make forms, set up client proofing areas, client orders, payment processing, and customize your website. All this and more in one software.

For years I've been using WordPress for my business website and relying on third-party plugins for these features. Many of these third-party plugins also have monthly or yearly subscriptions. The cost of Webhosting and the additional plugins make Pixpa a bargain and much easier for us do-it-yourself people.

For me the only con with Pixpa and needing an email host provider. I firmly believe if you have a business and website you should have emails that use your domain name. I feel that is really important and more professional than using a gmail.com account or free email service.

I fully understand why Pixpa doesn't have mail services. But I think that's the only area that I can find a con with their services and software.

First of all...the reason I switched from Shopify to Pixpa was mainly due to price( Pixpa price is perfect, I feel, while Shopify will eat you alive with apps), but then I realized there was way more to love about Pixpa than I initially thought. I really love how easy this is to use, for something who has no coding experience. I was able to make a great website within a week, list my products, and have fantastic galleries that load quickly. I have a need for alot of galleries as an artist and need to upload tons of images. I followed their specific instructions for preparing files and they look great. There were no extra charges since everything I needed was included, unlike the apps I needed to run the site when I used Shopify. I also think that the Pixpa help section was fantastic. I was able to quickly find any answer that I needed to my questions, written is a logical way, and when I couldn't find it, the customer service has been so responsive, kind, and timely. The blog as an addition was also a great perk for me as an artist. I didn't have the need for something like Wordpress, I just wanted a simple blog so I am content with the Pixpa one. All in all- great job!

So far I think the only thing I can think of is that when I compare it to Shopify, the checkout process probably could use some tweaking. The other thing is that when people checkout, the confirmation email often either goes to spam, or gives my gmail users a red alert for having "dangerous" content. One other thing that I noticed was that sometimes as I was editing a page, that website builder would crash occasionally, but it wasn't such a big deal to me, considering all the other positives.

I think Shopify is great, if you are selling tons of things, and can afford to pay the high cost of the service and additional apps, and like to code. It works very well. At this point, I am just beginning to sell, so it didn't make sense to continue paying for the service however. I also feel like they were cheap for not including multiple customizable galleries, which just doesn't work for visual artists. I can't justify paying 6.99+/month for an app just to customize my galleries and have a few of them. The idea of apps seems great, but it can add up quickly, so in the end, I was not a fan.

Using the templates straight up is easy, however, if you wish to customise the templates significantly, it can become a bit challenging to adjust the various features since this is not a drag-and-drop build. However, there are very DETAILED tutorial walkthroughs available in the help section of the management area. In addition, Pixpa has EXCELLENT customer service. I have been able to get feedback real-time using the help chat feature, and have also gotten detailed followup via email within 24 hours.

Pricing of Pixpa met my budget as a startup business while giving me a very strong feature-set - chiefly, to be able to display my portfolio, have a landing page that potential clients can get to learn more about my work visually, have clients contact me, and very importantly, be able to deliver and sell images using private client galleries.

In addition to increased functionality from my previous host and substantially reduced cost (close to 60%!), Pixpa displays my galleries in a most pleasing and dynamic manner. There are numerous options for design elements and if you happen to choose one style that you soon become tired of, with a click you’re back to your original choice. The team behind Pixpa has obviously spent plenty of time in enabling photographers to implement a design layout that suits their specific needs.

It took a while to become familiar with the GUI in the studio builder, but it was just a matter of time working with the tools and I was up and running. Also, management was prompt and helpful with my requests.

Pixpa is wonderful, easy to use, speedy and allows you the flexibility and creative freedom to build a site (basic or advanced) that fits your individual needs. They offer an e-commerce solution, as well as the ability to blog and host client galleries for creatives. My business wouldn't be where it is without Pixpa and I owe them a huge debt of gratitude for making things so simple and streamlined while keeping it professional and unique.

If anything, I think, it's just the templates. But even so, they've come a long way since I signed up and they keep releasing new updates, templates/sections/snippets, etc. I've not once needed anything they don't offer.

Simple, fast, visually appealing, functional, and easy to use. Outstanding customer service is an added bonus. I have created two personal websites and plan to make some for clients.

Nachteile

There are no real negatives. I have used many platforms so I have a good background to compare this platform with others. Pixpa offers the best value for the money, and the customer service is better than any of their competitors; better than Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress from my experience.

I suggest maybe allow templates that is geared towards a funnel landing pages. It can be achieved with some advanced customization and coding but this platform would be a game changer if they had templates that simply allowed you to create that.

This is a plug and play, complete site for photography. Everything you need (and more) is right at your fingertips. Want to create multiple galleries? Check! Want to create galleries within galleries? Check! Want to be alerted of an order? Check! Just want a place to display your artwork? Check! Want to create a blog with photo inserts, etc.? Check! Just about anything you can want to do as a photo studio is right here. Photo templates, SEO, galleries, shopping carts, client-only pages, etc. I looked at NINE possible websites to create the look and feel that I wanted as a studio photographer and artist. NONE compare to Pixpa.

I love most things. I really had to think hard about what I don't like. If anything, I would have to say that the web-building software is COMPLEX. I come from the computer industry and owned computer stores and ISP service. I understand web-building! But there have been times I have had to ask how to do something. The thing is, this isn't really a negative because they ALWAYS answer you questions quickly and with impromptu tutorials showing you how to do things step-by-step!

Pixpa offered the most for our money. They aren't the cheapest website builder we found, nor are they the most expensive. They are, however, the most feature-rich site of all the sites we researched.

Not having to have a handful of subscriptions to multiple places was what I was desperate to find and I am so glad I have discovered it! The team is top notch with communication and are always there to help me with any question I might have!

I would love to see the program have some more custom tools geared towards a photography business, for services I would love to see a deposit/retainer and tip option.

Pixpa offers us a simple yet powerful platform that allows us to have an amazing site for our visitors to see, a great user experience, and a great Gallery integration. It also offers us the ability to sell photography products to our clients right from one platform.

Nachteile

Actually, we love everything from our account at PIXPA. The only thing that I will be looking to be added is a complete CRM system inside the same platform, that will cut my trip to my actual CRM and keep everything in one place. That will be amazing.

It's stunning how easy to use Pixpa has been for me. From setting up the framework of my site, to diving into details ranging from design customisations, to product and service information. I especially love how it renders my site on mobile devices - that's easily one of my favourite things. Plus, SEO management is a breeze.

Overall, its speed and ease of use is magnificent.

Three main gripes I have at the moment:

1. The fact that payment integrations are limited to Paypal and Stripe, given that the two are barely operable in Kenya, and the main methods of transaction in Kenya forces customers to go through a roundabout method to complete payments. If we could find a simple workaround/workthrough for this, it would be wonderful. Related to this...

2. I can't display prices in my local currency (KES). That makes the checkout process rather difficult.

3. I think the blog side could use a little more editing flexibility. Primarily, the ability to change the size of images within the context of writing a blog post.

The limited feature on Pixieset set at the time, weighed against the cost, was becoming a limitation to how I envision my operations.

Pixpa doesn't appear to make their branding options clear. Or at least I wasn't aware of any info/options available to me. I had to ask that Pixpa branding and link-outs be removed from my site. It was do immediately, with no issue, but I would rather the default be no branding OR that you give me complete control over that portion.

Everything about starting and deploying your website is super easy. The eCommerce section and where you sell your photos for print does get a little confusing though. However, once you figure it out, it's super straightforward

I feel like some of the features have some overlaps with each other. Not that it's a bad thing, but it does take some time to figure out which one you should use. However, their customer service always helps super fast!

The guys at Smugmug weren't straightforward with their pricing and fees. I paid $30 a month for a plan where I could sell my photos as well. After I spent days preparing my website and files, I realized they also charged 15% per sale!!! This was not mentioned when you buy a plan, it was somewhere deep in the guides for starting your website!

It is feature rich and versatile. I really like how it integrates with my LAB WHCC. The client app are really a great product. -they should be made sell-able.

Nachteile

The pricing structure is good, but really need more value per tier or lower priced tiers for extra storage. Since your clients are paying for storage, you should definitely have video available for digital downloads. This will require more storage, and thus, you will need to be more competitive with storage plans. Images need to load faster, period. It takes WAAY too long for images to load. -video will need to be even faster. My clients are often confused about where their downloads are and how long it takes to get them. I also want the ability to offer souvenir albums, which I can not do. The send to client function is limited to 3 emails at a time... which requires multiple sends.
