Fair in FareHarbor
Overall the experience that I have with FareHarbor is very Fair and good.
Vorteile
The most thing that I like about the FareHarbor is the User-Friendly Interface of the program it allowed me to use it easily without any hassle, as well as its implementation of 3rd party programs.
Nachteile
The cost is what makes it quite a setback for me, but overall the quality of the program compensates the price. You get what you paid for.

Great option overall
Vorteile
FareHarbor is an extremely user friendly platform for our business. We take daily reservations for scheduled times, and this program makes it easy to set capacity limits, collect custom information, and process payments. One aspect that is very helpful is the ability for administrators to make changes to all aspects of the experience listings without having to submit a ticket and wait for approval. The customer service is available 24/7 and the representatives are always knowledgeable or willing to find the answer. They will also walk you through the steps to make changes so that you know how to do it in the future.
Nachteile
Having come from another system, there are a few things I would have liked to have seen in FareHarbor. One is the ability to see abandoned carts. This was a good way to convert sales in our old system, and I feel that loss with FareHarbor. I would also like more control over emails sent out and the ability to cancel automated emails for a particular client or date.

Exorbitant fees we couldn't pass on with a clear conscience.
After a somewhat rocky trial experience things did work and the system was obviously comprehensively featured. We decided that the 6% booking fee was way to much though and would've meant our average customer paying £9 in fees. Added that Fareharbor would make £10,000/year or more providing their booking system to us - didn't seem like a realistic price.

Very disappointing service
Extremely disappointed with them. They changed the fee structure and would not credit our funds into their account so that we can refund clients, despite numerous calls and emails requesting to do so. Very poor customer service.

Dashboard is equal in quality to that of other alternatives, for example, bookingterminal.com

They changed the terms and fees so there is no guarantee that what they promise you when you sign up will actually stay that way long term.
They have the worst customer service I encountered in any business, not replying to emails or calls, nor assisting even if things are urgent.

Best booking platform around
My experience with this platform has been amazing. If I can't figure something out, I go to support tickets and that get back to me quickly. Our account manager checks in with me once a month which is great!

No integrity or accountability
I will never recommend FareHarbor to any business.

They made promises that they said would “never” change…
Nachteile
After doing business with them for 6 years, they violated everything they promised us. Stole money out of our revenue on terms we never agreed to. Opened our business up to disputes with zero help. Even support and our “account manager” neglects to help fix issues they caused.

Decent Booking Tool That's Not Suited for Everyone
Decent. At a certain point, we gave up on the software. It simply didn't fit our business.
Vorteile
The team was very helpful for integration, and it was a full package of reporting, booking software, and payment provider. The customer front-facing booking experience was clean and flowed nicely.
Nachteile
Customization had to be done by FareHarbor, or at least was very opaque to the user. At the time we used it, everything felt very hacked together and clunky for what we were trying to with the tool. We were trying to use staff and lane assignment as both being required to take a booking, but the solution made the dashboard look almost unusably cluttered.

Fareharbor is headed in the wrong direction
Went from being very satisfied to poor experience within the last 12 months.

The platform and customer service used to be a industry leader and game changer, and now has become a burden.

Very disappointed. Was baited into letting Fareharbor build us a new and free website 5 years ago, I asked my account manager (who has meanwhile left the company) and made sure copyrights are and owership, and they promised everything would be owned by us with no strings attached. Fareharbor now won't show us any written contract that we signed or were lured in with. Starting October 31 2024, FareHarbor sends an email with new policy changes for website hosting. No warning we are told the website is theirs now and Fareharbor disputes anything they promised, and claim ownership of the website, litterally forcing you to pay above market rate ($5,000) hosting fees for or leave without a website and lose even more. You can't keep and manage your "own" website unless you pay $5,000. It's outraging to say the least and a complete bait & switch tactic executed without warning and enough time to reasonably avoid financial damage. It literally feels they stole the rights to our website and all our owned content and pictures, that we had for 15 years. Our site will be offline unless we pay $5,000, every year and only give us 2 months to build a new website with someone else or be offline.
Fareharbor, it is common sense that you don't treat a company that made you a furtune that way, and presenting your most loyal clients with a new reality after the fact with no reasonable alternative. What a break of trust. We trust Fareharbor with thousands of transactions and financial data information to turn around and do this to us. Thats not being a good partner and I can not recommend Fareharbor any more.
I have referred many new start ups and existing companies to sign up with Fareharbor. Again, I don't recommend at this point to sign up with Fareharbor any more, unless Fareharbor admits their mistake and change direction immediately. Fortunately and unfortunately for FareHarbor "ACTIONS SPEAK LOAUDER THAN WORDS". The platform and customer service used to be a industry leader and game changer, and now has become a burden. Thier processes has become very ineffecient, e.g. the highly important booking calendar builds are being ridled with cumbersome new forms to fill out, or making repetive steps for each individual item that Fareharbor used to be able to just make a dublicate in the past. Making changes to affiliate rates has do be done and set up new every time for each affiliates, making redundant form entries that take hours. The process to make changes and future builds has become ever more complicated and less customized, with Fareharbor puting the time burden on us the clients. What used to be handled in one conversation/phone call with your account manager now takes hours to jump through several forms and steps. It can take weeks and months before a calendar goes live nowadays and then often is a poorely executed and synced product in terms of resources, capacities, dates/time, and availability. It is ver frustrating that after 5 years we spend more time troubleshooting for months to find errors and mistakes made by the build team. What used to be a same or next day finished task such as to build (dublicate a booking calendar) can take months, and many follow up calls for the request to not be dropped. It is the time we don't have and the burden we were promised Fareharbor was going to take away from us that has been more and more put back on us now over the years. Account managers are doing what they can, I can't complain about [sensitive content hidden], he is working hard and he is great. However, he is being left high and dry by Fareharbor's poor top down decisions as well.
Fareharbor, you don't plug the goose that laid your eggs.
Be aware that there are better platforms out there now!

All the functionality I need with great customer service
Overall Fare Harbor is a great tool that helps my manage my food tour and excursion business on a day to day basis quickly and easily. The customer service is great. Their knowledge base and resources are outstanding as well as there in person customer service.
Vorteile
Onboarding and transitioning was easy and they are very helpful getting you up and running. I find the software easy to use and easy for me update and edit tours and availabilities. As a major player in the rez tech arena, Fare Harbor is competitive with upgrades and has API's with nearly every imaginable API you could want.
Nachteile
The reporting feature does not have a great UI and I find it difficult to extract the info I want. Also, one major downside is the booking window is a popup, therefore google conversions cannot be exactly tracked, only tangentially.

The handwriting was on the wall that EZ Tix was starting to fail as a company. I needed to make a switch fast and EZ Tix had designed my website. Fare Harbor designs websites for free, and they are great, and are at no cost. Fantastic software that seamlessly integrates with your site
Our non-profit arts organization / national historic landmark started shopping for a new ticket vendor amidst the pandemic when our formerly tried and true ticketing vendor (BrownPaperTickets) became negligent and withheld earned income from ticket sales for our events that took place in 2020. A sales rep from FareHarbor had been regularly reaching out to check in with us and see if we wanted to learn more about their product, and while shopping for a new service I spent countless hours doing research and speaking with representatives from several ticketing vendors (EventBrite, SimpleTix, etc.) and decided to give FareHarbor a shot as well. The sales representative was fantastic and thorough, answered all of my questions (and subsequent questions), provided support, and was highly transparent about everything - fees, onboarding, etc. We made the decision to try FareHarbor primarily because of how customizable their services are, the autonomy we get as a customer, the support provided by their team, how seamlessly it integrates with our website, and the fact that the branding is on point. Most other services have their own logo front and center with your business's logo and information secondary, and with FareHarbor all communication and interfacing makes our branding, logo and information top priority with subtle branding of their own. We are over the moon with their software and service!
Vorteile
The customer service team has been exceptional in providing complete information and support throughout the vetting process and then getting us set up, customizing our dashboard, training our staff, and continues to be highly responsive and supportive. It also integrates seamlessly with our website and is exceptionally user-friendly, not to mention how beautiful it looks!
Nachteile
So far we have not yet encountered anything we don't like about FareHarbor and their services. I'm thankful that the sales team was as persistent as they were with our organization in trying to share their product with us, or we may not have known it was an option for us. Thank goodness she kept calling, how many people can say that?

Over all, for what I need from FareHarbor, it's a great fit!
Vorteile
I like the look of it, functionality, helpful instructions if need, and the increase in direct bookings, without customers contacting me first, to make a decision.
Nachteile
The FareHarbor Distribution Network could be improved upon. I didn't find value in that department, so do not offer my services for a commission. However, I did allow FH to set up a website for page for Other Activities, partnering with other local tour operators. I have yet to see the value in that for referring business. multiple times.

Only tried the free trial for evaluation. If we managed more than just estimating and repair appointments for clients, may have been a better deal. Great product (have made use as a consumer for vacation and recreation activities), just more than we need at this time.

Superb Customer Support.
I used Fareharbor for the past two years and looked into several other options in order to soak some of the booking fee within the business rather than the customer paying it all. We decided that if we were to have to pay for the system, our prices would need to rise so the customer would obviously end up paying no matter what.

Hard Times
I don’t know what to do. I have no other way of refunding my guests because of the booking fees Fare Harbor owes to my customers. How can they legally hold MY and my customers money indefinitely? Don’t trust this company with your business and don’t trust this company with your money.

I have used Fare Harbor for years and have always been happy with the services provided, ease of use and customer service. Times are hard now. We are in the middle of a world Pandemic and the tourist industry is being crushed. Honestly, I didn’t expect Fare Harbor to help me through this crisis. But I also didn’t expect Fare Harbor to hurt my company and my customers, but that is exactly what they did. I have hundreds of customers to refund because of cancelled trips due to Covid-19. I am risking my company, but it is the right thing to do. So I deposited money into my Fare Harbor account to refund my guests and Fare Harbor will not release the money. It is money from my bank account straight into my refund reserve so I can credit my customers credit cards, and Fare Harbor is holding it. It has been 8 days. I have promised my customers their refunds and Fare Harbor is blocking me from processing them by holding my money. It’s tens of thousands of dollars. I have bank verification the money has been in their account for days. Now my company is at risk because I told my customers they would get their refunds.

My husband and I own this business. We are family owned and operated. We are successful and have a great reputation. We have worked hard for a decade to make our company what it is. We care about our customers. Now Fare Harbor is single handedly destroying what we worked so hard for. I have spoken with several representatives of the company. At first they said 5 days. Definitely 5 days. After 5 days passed, they said any day. Now that it has been 8 days they are saying it will get there when it gets there. They will not say why they are holding my money to give my customers. They have not apologized, and I have no clear answers when I can expect it.

From customer support to foolproof features, our experience with FareHarbor has been superb.
Vorteile
While the features of this software are plentiful and easy to use, we most enjoy the prompt, friendly customer support available to us through FareHarbor. Our Account Manager, Kristin, always delivers excellent work even when we provide her with information that can be unclear. She is a fantastic liaison between our business and FareHarbor Support, and she seems to go out of her way to ensure we're using FareHarbor to the best of our ability by facilitating appointments with FareHarbor support for us to learn how to make minor changes on the backend of our website, answering questions in a timely manner, and implementing new information to our website on a weekly basis.
Nachteile
One feature we enjoy least about this software is its mobile functionality. While it's certainly compatible with mobile devices, it's not always the most mobile-friendly in terms of working behind the scenes and formatting. Some examples include trouble viewing booking notes and updating manifests, text appearing too large, pictures a bit out of focus, etc. However, any adjustments we ask to be made in terms of format are quickly resolved by FareHarbor Support.
On another note, there are times when we make adjustments in the dashboard ourselves - without the help of customer support. Yet, often those changes still have to be submitted to FareHarbor support staff, so they can make those amendments appear on our website to customers. It feels repetitive. If those small changes could automatically be reflected on the website, we feel both our staff and customer support staff could become more efficient.
Finally, there seem to be plenty of features available at FareHarbor of which we users are unaware. For instance, our website was outdated and desperately needed some attention. We weren't aware we could get a website upgrade, or makeover if you will, until a support staff member reached out to us about that possibility directly. Perhaps implementing a list of available features - especially those that are at no additional cost - to all users would be a positive change all around and would ensure use all parties are using FareHarbor to the best of their ability.

From very satisfied to totally dissapointed
I've been using Fareharbor for 6 years, and I must say I have passed from being a very satisfied customer to being totally dissatisfied. I am highly disappointed with FH in general, particularly the decreasing quality of customer service, the extra charges for pretty much everything, the commission fees, and the incredibly outrageous prices on the FH websites you are planning to charge. I would never recommend your services to a friend or colleague. I hope whoever reads this review avoids this company at all costs.

a part le paiement en ligne je ne vois pas.
Nachteile
Très peu de souplesse pour enregistré les produits. Difficile de coordonnées les disponibilités avec les partenaires.
Initialement ne prenez des frais qu'aux clients, finalement ils nous en prennent aussi. Leur service client est tout simplement horrible. Et leur service d'affiliation est tout simplement nul et inefficace.

FareHarbor and Tour Management
I have been using FareHarbor for over 15 months on a daily basis as I give tours on a Segway part time. Its easy to monitor on my mobile home screen and gather data about a client before they arrive. It also lets me know what liability forms they have completed before their arrival. Overall I am happy with my FareHarbor experience.
Vorteile
FareHarbor is easy to use as an app on my mobile phone or on the desktop computer. Its responsive and gives me data in real time and this is helpful when client's are making changes so I can react accordingly. Usage is intuitive so no real training is needed.
Nachteile
It would be helpful if FareHarbor would highlight clients that are double booked other wise there is no downside to FareHarbor.

Pay as you go
Fareharbor was the perfect solution for us over the last years but with increasing direct sales, the commission fee is getting now out of control. We will change therefore sooner or later again to Bokun, which is kinda sad.
For comparison:
Bokun Pro = 588USD/Year (1.5% Fee on 100.000USD Sales = 1.500USD)
Total: 2.088USD/Year
Farharbor = 6.0% Fee on 100.000USD Sales = 6.000USD)
Total: 6.000USD/Year
Vorteile
The pay-as-you-go function, as we have changed from Bokun to Fareharbor during Covid. I think this is the only business model that is fair, as both sides have the same reasoning to develop sales in that case.
Nachteile
- The Marketplace is very weak
- No option to cover the booking fees for customers (this doesn't make sense to me, especially no with Google Business integration, as customers can see that tours are cheaper on other OTA platforms like GYG or Viator).
- The bookings fees of 6,00% is very high, 4.00% would be much more reasonable

FareHarbor allowed us to bring our reservations online
Vorteile
Being a cloud-based service, FareHarbor allowed us to move away from our antiquated reservation system to a more robust system that allows online reservations and is much easier to manage for a multiple-site operation.
Nachteile
API access for creating new user accounts would be a nice addition.

Great Booking Software
Great! Highly recommend any tour or business needing reservations/ticketing to integrate FareHarbor.
Vorteile
Customer service is amazing, they're kind, quick and smart. Usually able to help and solve your problems within 24-36 hours.
Nachteile
Some of the booking restrictions get funky on some of our items. Maybe some more resources and explanation on how to use resources.

Very good, would recommend.
Vorteile
It's a pay as you go, they only take payment from every online booking. Very good if you're starting off. Good for tour guides as they get automated notifications.

Zero Customer Service
Starting my own business and wanted to use FareHarbor for my bookings. Had the Zoom call, answered the questions that were emailed to me and then….. NOTHING!!! They just disappeared. I’ve emailed, called, messaged and I get the standard reply of someone will get back to you. Bummer I thought this would be the easiest part of opening my business. Disappointing.

Does not preserve ticket purchases during the check-out (cart) phase

Easy to use, quick response time, can handle large user volume.
Nachteile
Tried to book Niles Canyon Train of Lights. The cart accepted my purchase of 10 tickets. Entered my credit card information to complete the purchase (maybe 1 minute to do that step). Fareharbor "said" purchase could not be done. It would not longer accept my ticket purchase, and then the train was sold out. FareHarbor failed to hold onto my ticket purchase, during the purchase phase. Very poor!

The add-on integrations were really good.

The overall user interface just did not seem to live up to what other products on the market can offer. Also customer service took a lot longer to respond then some other booking softwares.
