Ultimately, Namely is a simple software to use. Navigation for our employees is easy and we have been able to run our yearly open enrollment through it with no major hiccups.

An initial draw to the software was the API integrations it could offer. However, these have not worked as smoothly as we hoped - specifically with our Applicant Tracking Software (to which they are supposed to integrate very easily).

User interface for employee population is good. They've made some strides in the analytics function - however, they are going to charge for this.

Service is unresponsive and not helpful. Payroll and HRIS do not talk with each other. Reporting is not intuitive and requires excel skills to combine reports from payroll and the HRIS. NO good reporting on compensation. Feeds to vendors randomly stop working and without follow up on our side, no one at Namely would notice. We have received inaccurate information from our rep and from the service team. For one payroll this year they forgot to take out the Federal Taxes. What vendor does that?

I love the HR and Payroll software. The payroll feature is quite diverse for being so new, and I have found the reporting to be very useful. The team at Namely has also been extremely helpful and fast - which is so important in this industry!

Nachteile

There are a few places where I have to enter in things twice instead of the data automatically syncing over, but I know this is something Namely is building out!

- When editing a review it can sometimes be confusing that you are in edit mode, the UI makes it appear as read only (appears in grey box rather than white) when infact you can actually edit

It is amazing! It has increased employee engagement and is really easy to use. The feed on the dashboard is great for people to remember birthdays or work anniversaries and we use it to share pictures from events as well. Also, employees can change their own address and banking information without getting HR involved!

Nachteile

I really can't think of anything, it is easy to use, the reporting is spot on and it is actually fun to see what people are talking about on the feed.

To a degree, the intuitive nature of Namely is its saving grace.

Easy to use for Employees, Managers, and Admins. The interfaces are elegant, clean, and very intuitive. The ability to automate tasks or delegate tasks that used to be a burden has freed up time for Managers and HR admins. Having everything all in one creates an easy experience for our employees. The ability to use the Open API allowed us to automate our employee data flow out to different parts of the company and keep our systems all in sync.

Nachteile

Missing some features you might get from an older HRIS, Payroll, or Benefit system. While the time feature allows a lot of customization, it can be burdensome to use and navigate.

Namely has found a way to integrate a number of key resources for employees into a format that is great for a small-and-growing company. While large enterprise software offers all the bells and whistles, that’s not what every company needs. Namely’s high-touch client success team is also a huge asset, especially when handling payroll.

Nachteile

The only thing I could say as a con or a dislike is that they haven’t built an ATS and a learning portal! I know, I know they’re just getting started. Seriously hard to find anything that I dislike about this great software.

I mostly love being able to have HR, benefits and payroll information all in one spot! Of course Namely is not the only program which can handle these processes, but I do find Namely very flexible and capable of handling all our needs.

We may be unique, but we do value anonymity in our review process. I do wish the review program settings could be set at the company level so that all managers could initiate the process in the same manner. without my needing to ensure it is handled in the same way each time. I've communicated our need and I'm sure Namely is assessing to see if this is something other companies could use as well.

Compared to other HRIS systems, the interface is a lot more friendly. I love the newsfeed feature and the minimalist design makes it easy to find information when navigating through the platform.

The Namely team was disorganized and unstable. It took way too long to implement and when we reached out for support, it would take days to get a response.

I like that it is easy to manage time off requests and see my direct reports profiles. Namely sends me emails when there is something new that requires my action and this is helpful to keep track of everything.

I think the platform could be easier to use, more intuitive. My organization do not use the platform for performance management, but it could be a great tool, not sure if all orgs are making the most of namely.

One of my favorite aspects of this tool, which helps organize a lot of information related to our organization, is that is has a public message board (not unlike a social media timeline). This allows us to give shout-outs to teams and individuals and give updates to everyone. It helps unite our team and get a better understanding of the organization as a whole. We also use this for a variety of HR info and processes which helps streamline a good amount of questions and troubleshooting.

Nachteile

We have integrated Namely with a time tracking tool. The integration is rather clunky and not user-friendly.

Vorteile

As an employee point of view, you can see the company structure, interact with coworkers, request vacations, do performance reviews, but also you can check your benefits and another HR documentation.

Nachteile

Frequently the platform loads a little bit slow when scrolling down the page and it becomes a pain when you need to find an old event.

I know anything employment related is usually found in Namely, and it's my first stop for all things that I would normally ask HR about like PTO, sick days, policies, benefits details, parking permit infor, forms, pay stubs, etc. It's convenient and intuitive.

there are two ways to submit PTO requests and one of them doesn't work for me, but that's a minor bug. For the most part (as a user) it's a helpful portal.

The biggest pro to Namely for us is the automation of onboarding/terminations/employee changes that flow directly to payroll. This removes so many manual steps which helps to minimize errors.

Nachteile

Namely still has some items to automate through their onboarding processes (allowing new hires to complete tax forms and direct deposit information online) but aside from there, we haven't run into any negative aspects of the product.

Vorteile

The Pros I like about Namely is how easy it is for employees to use to ask time off or get resources for benefits and use as a mini social media platform for staff to encourage anniversaries and birthday recognition.

Nachteile

The least thing I like about this software is the price of the program is overpriced for what you do with less than 50 employees.

It's inclusivity of employee information; it's features save time and help with company compliance. It helps new employees have a platform when working remotely, and helps HR keep up with remote employees. Namely is always adding new features based on client feedback and everyone at Namely is a pleasure to work with.

Nachteile

The timesheets aren't my favorite, but they get the job done and do offer a few different options. Namely is working on improvements to the things I dislike about them.

Namely allows me to see company updates, but also to manage my resources that the company offers me. This includes PTO and crucial documents and tax info that helps on a yearly basis.

The customer service is impeccable! our representative will always call when she says she will- she has called us while on a train before when we had an issue with payroll. everyone on the Namely team is so dedicated to making Namely the best.

I wish there were more features for the calendar. i have made this suggestion and they told me they would take it into consideration when making updates and implementing more features. since Namely is so culture based- i believe this will happen.
and on privacy settings- its confusing for me to know how to edit it and what the results will be. but our rep always is willing to help!

We did not have ONE location for SO many things before Namely. Namely has been amazing for putting so many tools in one place that employees need to access. Payroll, PTO requests, Forms and the ability to update teams and the agency all at once through a facebook like platform.

Nachteile

Sometimes the subfolders inside the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen are hard to navigate. It would be nice to have a search function to find what you need. Especially when it comes to documents you are looking for.

Vorteile

Performance of Staff can be easily measured by how far they have gone in completing the set tasks. Staff profile and all can easily be synced with the cloud and the user interface is very easy to understand. It is like having a virtual tool that can handle the management of all the HR responsibilities.

Nachteile

The price is pretty high but it is worth it when you consider the complexity of your organizations to the benefits of having the product.

We used a few other HR systems in the past (one we even built ourselves... that was a mistake). Namely is essentially our employee's central hub for all things related to HR. All organized, easy to navigate, and functional.

Switching to Namely has allowed our HR managers to switch to focusing more attention on new hires rather than spending all their time supporting the team.

I don't even think I have spoke to HR since we adopted Namely, it's great!

Nachteile

Getting all your documentation set up in Namely can be very time consuming. I don't think it's more time consuming than alternatives, but expect that "setting up Namely" will be a full time job for a couple months.

But, such is the nature of working HR. :)

Namely provides a one stop shop for all employee related items (payroll, benefits, HRIS, time tracking, onboarding). It has been a great tool for us and has saved us a lot of time. It is easy to you and a clean interface on both the administration and employee side.

Nachteile

There have been a few issues with integration with different carriers and software but Namely is working to make sure that everything is talking to each other.

Vorteile

Navigation: The navigation menu is stunningly simple, which is a breath of fresh air compared to other services like Zenefits. All navigation options are listed in a nice column on the left hand side; no confusion.

Service Offerings: What has been really nice with Namely so far is that we no longer need to use a separate HR service or a separate paystub tracking service. We have effectively ceased using ADP and Zenefits in favor of Namely. I'm all for software simplification and Namely does just that.

Nachteile

UI/UX: If I'm being honest, I'm not sure I like the UI/UX. It looks like a re-skinned and scaled back version of LinkedIn. I also highly dislike the twitter-style news feed as soon as you login. I don't need or want more channels of internal communication.

Not much going on: Namely simply has little going on. If I dont need to request PTO, see the holiday calendar, or review my paystub, I have zero reason to login and use Namely. Perhaps it is just better that way, but Namely does little to encourage me to login and actually use the service. It feels more like a checkbox service where we have and use it to check a checkbox for company needs.

Sensitive Info: The Namely administrator can make certain sensitive information available for all to see, such as birthdays, personal phone number, or personal address. Day 1 of using Namely we had a lot of this information available for everyone to see, but it has since been restricted.

We we sold a full price beta product in July 2017. Implementation, bugs, carrier feeds taking months. Overall, a nightmare. Of the dozens of Namely employees I have had contact with, I believe 3 are still with the company?

They are charging the same high price but decreasing their service level to downright awful. Email request response can take days or not get a response at all. Or multiple reps respond with DIFFERENT RESOLUTIONS!? Calling is a ten minute hold time. They are decreasing their service levels by the day, pushing payroll tax maintence back to the customer, I have been without a dedicated CSM for two+ months now.

I cannot wait to be done with this contract and this product.

I really like the user interface design and the ease of processing payroll. I also really enjoy all the customization options there are. I can pretty easily get all the data that I need.

I'm not a big fan of the performance feature. They used to have issues with responsiveness on the support side, but they have fixed that. They have a really great Help Community feature now that has pretty much fixed that.

Vorteile

Namely is fairly intuitive. Most employees have not needed much in the way of training or tutorials and they like the eases of use and the user interface. It can be customized fairly well and the team and account reps are always available to help. I also love how it integrates so many HR functions under one roof and all are done well.

Nachteile

One minor drawbacks on time off reports is you cannot run a report to see vacation balances as of a certain day in the past (or future) - it is only current. Also, navigating is a bit clunkier than I'd like - there are no dynamic searches and you cannot jump from a Teams page for one employee to a Teams page for another employee with one click.

We moved from ADP to Namely and it is a much more engaging HRIS system and allows you to be linked to members of the organization. Payroll isn't fun as it is, but Namely allows it to be :)

Nachteile

The timecard option. It's pretty tedious to put in your for each day. As well, if you do overtime it becomes even more difficult. A process that takes 5-10 minutes, I feel like could easily be simplified into 1 minute.

Vorteile

The real-time reporting that Namely can produce is helpful and it's easy to use. You can grab any data in any format and pull it out of the system immediately. Other systems you have to wait or would have to have a new report built to your exact specifications.

Nachteile

As a tech and data company, we pride ourselves in knowing and using the best technology. Namely is not an intuitive or simple system. They also aren't able to scale with companies, as we grew from 100 employees to 1200 over night, the system caused many headaches in terms of functionality and user experience.

The HRIS with Namely is fantastic. From onboarding to exiting an employee, the system is great. All of my employees loved the user side as well!

It is clear that Namely was an HRIS first and decided they wanted to make more money by breaking into the Payroll world. There are so many deficiencies in the Payroll system - limiting to three earnings codes, consistently messing up our 403b contributions, incorrectly taxing housing allowance for pastors, the list goes on and on. Unfortunately, the pains of the Payroll system were so great that we had to give up the benefits of the HRIS and switch to a different solution.

Namely is a great tool to have in any organization. It will help your operation cost and streamline HR processes. I enjoyed the dashboard, all important information is easy to access and the messaging function is an easy way to communicate with HR or Namely Admin.

Nachteile

When I had to do revisions to my benefits it was a hurdle, I had to wait on our Admin to update my profile. But as soon as it was updated, doing the revisiions was easy.

We like the look and feel of the home page. The single sign on with Active Directory is great.

Nachteile

Where to start...
-No support - we wait on hold for 40+ mins to talk to someone in support. No one replies to emails. Additional, the phones dont seem to work well (poor quality and drop calls). Not payroll or system experts.
-There can only be 3 additional earnings on a check...
-There is multiple systems that don't talk to each other (like Time and HRIS)
-Benefits - there is not a way to reject one piece and not another so the employee has to continue to log back in and redo everything.
-Reporting is difficult and has many limitations.
-Esignature is easy to use or see in a que.
-They don't calculate garnishments.

Namely is a seamless system for our HR team. It has streamlined a range of processes including onboarding, performance management, employee changes and more. It also has a great UI that makes it easy for employees to update information, access resources and complete processes like requesting time off.

Nachteile

We haven't used some of Namely's additional resources like payroll and benefits yet, but we look forward to evaluating those options as well.

Vorteile

Great customer service, awesome "Backstage Pass" features educating about all areas of HR, and an always-improving platform are some of Namely's strengths. When I reach out to my customer success representative, I usually get a response within a few hours. She's even helped with things that are out of her realm. Namely is always asking for feedback on how to improve the product, and in my short time working with this system, I've seen several of those requested features implemented. Namely also has some of the best training resources available.

Nachteile

It's still fairly new, so some features are still being worked on. There are so many reports available that it's a bit difficult to know what each report contains and which would serve your purpose best.

The only pro I can find as a user is that I am able to review my time sheet/work hours before it gets submitted to my management team.

Nachteile

The biggest con for me is that Namely allows for anyone in the company to have access to other employees' time card. I am not sure if this was disclosed when the company looked into the program, and to be fair there is an option to add a personal pin number before you can go through to the time card but why would we add a pin if we don't know anything is amiss? This is a big fail and I am unsure if that falls under Namely or the person/people responsible for purchasing the program for the company.
