With SignUpGenius we like the price (FREE) and the diversity it provides when creating a schedule that needs to be managed.

This is a reasonably priced software that can be used by organizations to signup volunteers or attendees for events. It’s user friendly and allows for a user to contact users quickly. This is a fantastic software to use

Super easy to use and easy to customize with your own branding. This product helps us manage appointments, volunteers, book sign outs, everything in a public high school setting. I love having digital copies of responses versus old paper forms. Our staff and parents like that they can get text reminders about events.

For the most part, I think it works great. It took some getting used to but was easy to learn. The only con in my opinion is the paid plan options. They range greatly in price, but seems like they could create something more in the middle of the current paid options.

I like that when other users respond, SignUp Genius updates and every other invitee can also see the updates. For example, when sending out RSVPs, everyone has the ability to see everyone else who has RSVP'd. It's a very easy app for taking polls for certain time slots. It is also great if you need just a quick one question response or a detailed, multi-step poll. As a user, I appreciate that it is quick and easily shows up in my inbox. Additionally, I don't receive spam messages from them after taking a survey!! This is so important. I didn't sign up for promo messages, so I don't want to receive them automatically. This program finally gets it. Finally, the ability to send out reminders is a great function. It's easy to set up ahead of time for the SignUp creator. I also love that it sends the event to my calendar!! It's just great for both ends of the SignUp request... I would highly recommend.

Nachteile

I don't have too many complaints, except that sometimes the visibility is limited on the mobile app. Really, I highly recommend this software and can't think of too many negatives haha.

As a resident assistant (RA) for graduate student housing, a goal of ours is to keep the students engaged. With the COVID-19 pandemic, it was difficult to transition to a full-virtual format in order to abide by government regulations. SignUpGenius allowed me/my RA team the opportunity to gauge students' interests in virtual opportunities and help to develop an online platform that would be best for the fellow students.

Nachteile

It can be challenging to set up a new survey without prior knowledge. It may be beneficial to include a tutorial on the website.

It's just easy and straightforward from start to finish.

Sign-up Genius is great at being customizable for whatever you need it to. Whether it's a big event with multiple people and parts or a small party. It helps to keep it all organized so you can ask exactly what you need and people can fill that request.

Sometimes it can be a bit confusing to new users on the app because pop-ups will block the next button.

I love that I am able to schedule my conferences with parents digitally and without sending a sign-up form home that could be easily lost. It allows me to send a like to my parents, and then they can pick the time slot that works for them.

If it does not already exist on the parent side, I would love for it to send a reminder of their upcoming conference. Also, if I could mark the attendance slots of who showed up for their conferences.

It is fast and easy to get started using this program, allowing advanced features to be added as needed. Provides attractive, easy to access portal for volunteers to access multiple service opportunities.

The ability to create multiple, recurring opportunities could be made a little easier to accomplish.

Administration sent the sign up genius during our virtual year. They continued to use it for easy to use signing up during observation times.

I use SignUpGenius for a number of activities as a teacher. I use it for assessment scheduling, party sign ups, field trip volunteers, conference scheduling, and a few other things. The best part about this software is that you can send a sign up out to parents/guardians via email, and they can sign up without bothering with any kind of official sign in or registering. They can even do it straight from their phone. I have found that by doing it this way, I get a lot more sign up activity. The actual sign up is easy to use. I have only had a few parents have trouble with it after using it for years.

Nachteile

The process of actually creating the sign up can be a bit confusing. There are many different tabs at the top that you have to navigate through. When using the software, I often have to go back and forth from the tabs to the "preview" button and see what the changes actually look like on the sign up form. The "preview" button is helpful and necessary to see what the final result will look like before sending it out. Ideally, the set up would be easier to navigate.

Sign up genius is easy to follow and easy to use. Helpfull troubleshooting and help when you get confused. I use it for homeschooling

The lack of complexity of software makes it not effective for important staffing purposes. This is great for volunteer or low-risk people management but not for staffing for events like we were using it for.

I appreciate that this sends me an email every time I sign up for something, and I can add it to my calendar. It's also really cool that it gives you perks every time you sign up to volunteer for something--I just never use them. You can add notes to your volunteer sign-up, you can schedule how much of something you're going to volunteer for, and you can tell what things have already been volunteered for too. It's really simple as a user, and I like it for that purpose alone.

Nachteile

It would be nice if I stayed logged in every time I went into it, but I'm sure I could do this and just haven't messed with it enough. It also might be nice in some circumstances if you could make yourself anonymous to the other people signing up, but not anonymous to the person organizing. I could see that coming in handy if money is involved.

As a training manager, I'm constantly advertising new events and having to track sign ups and attendance for each of them - which is where SignUp Genius really comes in handy. I have used both a paid for version and the free version of SignUp Genius, both have done exactly what I've needed them to do and I choose to continue to use it over other sign up software. I love that I can create a simple sign up, send out the link in my advertisements for sessions, and I immediately get emails the moment anyone signs up. I love this feature the most. I don't have to constantly log back in and check the sign up to send calendar invites, it automatically lets me know. I can even incorporate an additional question to ask regarding the topic of the training to collect questions and feedback for my presenters before the session to help guide their approach.

Nachteile

This has become common use at our institution, but when it was just rolling out, we started using the function of sending out emails through SignUp Genius and they often had sign ups go to junk mail or with a warning of an unrecognized sender. That was an issue, however, we now send the emails ourselves and just include the link to the sign up and that works best for us.

Vorteile

I have used this to sign up for tons of different programs and meetings. I love how you can export a file to different types of calendars (I export to my mac calendar and it works amazingly well!). I also really like how you can have an account and view all the things you have signed up for

Sometimes the date listed in the description and the calendar export are different. Perhaps this is due to error on the event creators part, but it would be nice to have something that prevents this

Unlike many group calendar/meeting apps, which involve everyone entering possible meetup times, this is for individuals to choose appointments or commit to work slots for events, etc. An administrator sets up the various tasks and puts in slots (it's possible to indicate how many people are needed for each time slot under each task). It autogenerates notifications for signups and sends reminders to each signee.

Nachteile

It was very tricky to figure out the easiest way to add time slots in bulk, and the difference between adding days and times and adding time slots.

This program is easy to set up and use for volunteer sign-ups and event RSVPs. They offer a free version that still has lots of customization options. The layout is simple and user friendly

The free version has lots of advertisements that can clutter the screen. While the options for customizing the look of the sign up has a lot of variety (especially the paid version) there are still limitations and it is hard to get it to look great if you want to use your own images and color schemes.

This program was so user friendly and easy to navigate. I was able to input times that would work best with my schedule and it was easy for my clients to choose the appropriate time that would work with their schedule to meet with me.

Nachteile

The only negative would be there was one instance where two clients signed up for the same time. I am not sure if it was a glitch or not but I did have to reschedule one of the clients.

This program is pretty much an invitation style sign up form. It is great for scheduling meetings with available sign up times, signing up for what to bring to potlucks, etc.

Nachteile

The layout is often difficult for the end user to understand. It would be nice if a calendar could be integrated with options on days like "3 left" etc. Also, it doesn't correlate with Outlook. It would be great if when an individual signed up, outlook appointments were automatically set.

My favorite thing about this software is the ease of use. There is no complicated, multi-step process to using it. Sometimes, tools used for organization for school events or social functions will involve a long process involving signing up and getting verification emails and having to dig around to find the original email so you can go back to the page and log back in... you know how it goes. But not so with SignUpGenius! It's so easy. Who are you? What are you doing? Submit your stuff, move on with your life. My daughter's teachers and class mom use this and it is fantastic.

Nachteile

I work in UX and I would say that the color scheme can be a bit tough on the eyes, but that is hardly an insurmountable problem.

SignUpGenius is super easy to use. Once you sign in, you can sign up for something that you've been invited to or create your own sign up. I love the feature that lets me add when I've signed up for something to my calendar without having to type anything in. I've found that by using signup, people are held accountable and more likely to volunteer for things.

Nachteile

On a couple of occasions, when I've been invited to signup via email, I don't see it in my signups when I login to signup genius. This has required me to logon to signup, go back into email and click on the link and then miraculously I can see the invite in my signups. Just a few extra steps to trouble shoot and really not a big deal.

Never having been an administrator of this pro duct I can’t speak to the ease of the setup but as a user I always liked how straightforward it seemed. The signup options have always been clearly visible and easy to select. I especially like how a description of each sign up option can be made available along with the name of that option.

Nachteile

My least favorite thing about Signup Genius was actually the several steps you go through to verify your selection. The main times that I used This product was during my nursing school education as we were signing up for clinical assignments. As soon as the sign-up window is open each of us students logged on and quickly tried to select our favorite clinical site. Having to verify my selection several times only to find that it had already been taken by another student was frustrating. I wish that after simply clicking on the item once that it would have gone through rather than going through these extra verifications.

SignUpGenius makes it extremely easy to simple to get volunteers to signup for roles that they want to be in. By providing different roles and time slots, it makes it easy to get volunteers signed up, connected with the organizers, and provide information about their shift.

Nachteile

From my experience, the ads could be annoying on the site and make it difficult to navigate. While the paid options do remove ads, the free tier can have many of them.

Vorteile

It eliminates having to call, email or text people to put together a sign up schedule. You can state exactly what you need and monitor what is being donated, what is still needed & it can be edited as well.

Nachteile

Some less than tech savy people might have a hard time because they need an email, computer but this is MINOR!

Very turnkey and easy to put together! This program enables techies and novices to create a marketplace to capture and manage sign-ups for events and activities. I really like the templates from which one can choose to best advertise and brand events.

Nachteile

Some of the options under "available slot" can be confusing. It may take a few extra minutes to figure out if the option chosen is best for the process of coordination between organizer and those signing up. It is easy to go back after previewing the page and edit.

Also, be careful when signing up for multiple people and multiple slots so that appropriate units are assigned. ie. Jo signs up for 24 Bananas but it appears Jo is only bringing 1 of the 24 bananas. Be sure units are designated and products/slots are clearly labeled.

I volunteer at the local high school as a track coach. I like how easily I can send links to parents and show them exactly what we need for our track events. It helps prevent duplicate items and ensures we get exactly what we need and the right amounts of what we need

Honestly for what we use it for, the product has very little downside. We use the free version and it is perfect for what we need.

Great way to get your employees to participate in work and non-work related events. We used Sales force for an event that we were participating in and it was easy to manage. It provides reminders and it is user friendly.

Nachteile

It is a bit difficult to cancel once you have signed up. You have to email the administrator and have them cancel it for you. Maybe there is an easier way but I have not found it.

I like that it’s all online so multiple people can see what’s going on. This keeps the confusion to a minimum

We have used SignUpGenius for multiple reasons. I think most parents recognize it for signing up for classroom treats. However, we have expanded our use of SignUpGenius to signing up for volunteer shifts and for Silent Auction outreach efforts so we don't have multiple people calling the same business. It has been excellent and was truly flexible.

Nachteile

I think one thing that we would like to see that is not currently available is to duplicate a set of items to be used over multiple locations. Maybe we are just missing where that is done at but other than that we don't have any complaints.

The free tier is great, and has most the features for a event sign up for scheduling rotation. It is not the easiest system in the world for a user to figure out, but it is very useful

The ads (when present) are intrusive, and the interface could be a little easier to navigate for the end user. There are too many clicks for a simple sign up. It is annoying that users have to sign up for their own accounts to sign up, but I understand that is the revenue model for the company

I am so glad to get out of the old paper sign-up rut! SignUpGenius has made sign-ups so painless and made organizing events so much easier. It is amazing to not have multiple copies of a sign-up floating around and then have to combine the names later and verify that no one signed up twice on two different sheets, etc. It is truly great and setting up a sign-up couldn't be easier. The creator of the sign-up needs to set up an account, but those who sign up don't have to create an account!

Nachteile

There are obviously some features, like start and/or stop dates, that are not available if you use the basic free version. I also don't like that even on the paid versions, you still only get a limited number of sign-ups without ads; in fact, only the most expensive option has no ads.

I love the fact that SignUp Genius eliminates the need for dozens of emails, just to figure out who is bringing what. It's used so widely that even the most tech-averse parents seem to be able to figure out how to volunteer to work a booth or bring something!!

Nachteile

It can be a little labor-intensive to create a signup sheet - sometimes you have to be a little creative to make it work for your particular need. And the signup sheets can be LONG - for my son's graduation, they had three days of activities and multiple tasks for each activity. It seemed to go on forever, and I actually signed up for the wrong day initially, as it was hard to keep track of when the days switched.

There are a lot of issues with the UX for mobile - especially when it comes to deleting appointments and viewing the whole calendar. There are other issues with scrolling through to find the right day/time.

I really enjoy that it allows you to have multiple sign ups at the same time. We are a school that uses it daily to track multiple events and special classes. We enjoy that there is some customization that allows us to have it match our brand. It also sends notifications to my email so I am aware of who signs up for classes. I never miss a beat when it comes to attendance and who to expect because of that.

Nachteile

It can be very difficult to learn at the start and times out pretty quickly. It took me a few times to figure out the best way to add multiple dates and times at once before it times out and having to do it all over again. I would also suggest that it be easier to upload documents.

Perhaps more so than any of its key competitors (ie, Google Forms, Doodle), SignUp Genius is incredibly simple to use and even easier to customize. Adding in specific times for specific dates is an absolute breeze, and SignUp Genius particularly shines when it comes to providing viewers with information about the event. It is most beneficial with large groups of attendees.

The mobile website for SignUp Genius is somewhat difficult to navigate and is best viewed on a desktop or laptop monitor.

This event management product allows us to keep our two largest yearly give away events organized. The product enabled us to move our in person sign ups online and had thus increase productivity and efficiency. We no longer need to have multiple employees or rely on volunteers to be able to provide assistance to those in need. Additionally being online allows for those needy to help to sign up whenever it is convenient for them rather than coming in person at a certain time. The software is easy to use and able to be used on a variety of devices which is great since we serve individuals with different levels of experience when it comes to technology. Software has good reporting capabilities as well which allow you to use with Excel.

Nachteile

There really isn't anything I do not like about the software, our biggest issue has been with individuals entering incorrect email address. When they do that they do not receive our messages and reminders which can be frustrating for all.

Pricing for Ad free sign ups is more than we care to spend. Many of our volunteers are retirees and find the ads distracting, especially the first few times they used SignUp Genius.

The software makes collaborating on projects and events so easy! We use this often for parents to sign up to bring items to classroom or after school activities and events, or sign up for shift coverages. It reduces duplicated efforts and we can easily be sure everything needed is covered. Everybody can see what is needed, and who is doing it - and it is so easy to use! You create the survey or list and simply send an email to everyone involved, and they in turn follow a link to sign up. And you even get reminders emailed to you once you have signed up!

Nachteile

The only problem I have experienced is when I "lose" the link to sign up for something. Probably user issue, but sometimes I cannot find the sign up form when I try to search in the program for it.

Vorteile

It's easy to start using and easy for people to sign up, which is a big deal...otherwise people get frustrated and stop the process midstream. Lots of templates to choose from. Free service still gets you a lot. Love the messaging abilities to all of your signees.

Nachteile

Their ads are very intrusive...although I understand this is purposeful as they are looking to have you upgrade to remove the ads. Also, you have to submit any custom photo and wait until it's approved before proceeding. They don't give you the dimensions for your custom pictures, nor allow you to resize them.

I love using Sign Up Genius to schedule my parent teacher conferences. It makes scheduling super easy for my classroom parents. I also use this for parents to sign up to bring items for our classroom parties. Everything is super easy to use.

Nachteile

I wish that I had the option to remove/ switch someone from an item that they signed up for. Unfortunately I cannot manually change what they signed up for, they have to change it even if they want to switch with someone else.

I love this for when I need to gather parent volunteers for anything. I send a sign-up out and slots get filled immediately. I can easily organize parents and send them reminders and things they'll need. It is a volunteer management program worth the time. We've used this to solve problems in our school for finding and organizing volunteers for class plays and large events.

It is a pain to gather email addresses to send this out-- so much so that I have started using google forms instead because I can create a bulk email list easily.

Vorteile

You can easily customize forms with as many or as a few of fields as you need and when you are ready to share your forms, you can do it with a link or you can upload your contacts and have SignUpGenious send out your invitations. You can also edit your form after you publish it and you can chose to send out reminders to those who have signed up.

Nachteile

It is not the most intuitive to build when you have to do your first form and it would be helpful to have some guidance on those. The templates for the free version are not particularly attractive -- the colors and photos are not the best.

Vorteile

It's easy to use and the free version for personal use is the best free way to host small gatherings and parties to know who's coming and what they might be brining. (If food is involved.) It's easy to setup and easy for your guests to sign up and communicate with you. You can even have somewhat of a matching theme for the appearance of your invitation as the theme of your gathering if you prefer...and that's easy too.

Nachteile

For the free version you'll have to deal with ads...but can we really consider that a con when it's free? I think not! Besides that, there really aren't many cons to SignUpGenius...it's just that easy.
