SIgnUpGenius is easy to use from either my phone or my laptop. It enables me to effectively plan and organize event volunteers and donations.

I would love if there were more modern design options available in the free model. I do like that I can add my own image and have done that often.

Once you have determined your schedule and needs for volunteers, it can easily be sent those who have signed up for SignUpGenius. Those volunteers can then select what works best for their schedule and can be placed accordingly. This can help avoid the awkward and timely process of contacting volunteers individually. SignUpGenius also lets you see actively who has signed up for what without having to manually write down a volunteer chart.

Nachteile

Spots can fill up quickly and those who do not check it right away can miss out on opportunities repeatedly which could cause them to ignore the requests in future (statement from volunteers). Open communication and flexibility are key in any volunteer situation so this is hardly a new phenomenon.

I learned about the website from a colleague. Her son's teacher used it at a different school to help for signing up for party items. I like that you can send parents a link and they can see what times are still available. This was especially helpful this year with the pandemic because we didn't have our normal Back to School Night. During this night parents would sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences. I really enjoyed the convenience of it and it made it easy to see who had signed up and who still needed to.

Nachteile

I did run into problems with some of the scheduling. I had a couple parents sign up, but I wasn't notified by email and it didn't show up on my schedule. They brought the confirmation that they got, but it didn't show up on my end. This made it hard to keep paperwork organized and be prepared.

I love how the program is easy to navigate and correct something if you sign up and need to change it later on.

There actually isn't really anything I don't like about the product. We use it for hundreds of people every month and have no problems!

We use this platform for my son's high school football team. It helps us to coordinate team dinners, team gatherings, and game day helpers. It is easy to know who is going to help, and it is super easy to change things that you signed up for, too.

I wish there was an option to email a specific user that signed up for something in case I wanted to ask them a question.

I direct and produce several musicals throughout the school year. Parent volunteers are essential to getting everything completed in a timely manner without going crazy! Signup Genius allows me to create events where parents can come to volunteer, and parents can manage their volunteer schedule for each production. The basic (free) version comes with enough features that it is easy to use and get everything done.

Nachteile

Above the free version are some paid versions that I don't think are incredibly necessary, but could be used for larger groups perhaps. I also do not love the logo. It doesn't look as professional as I would like, but again its a free service so no complaints!

Being able to have my team sign up for multiple times and days is helpful in how we use signup genius. We are also able to follow up and remind them of their commitments with ease freeing our time and miss up to be more effective else where.

I do wish I knew how to transfer signups from one event to another with haveing to have the team meme er have to sign up again.

I like that this software includes a variety of options when signing up, specific to the event. For example, you can sign up for a specific day / time slot and food or other donation item. it also shows how many of each category are needed.

The software isn't scary at all. It's really easy to use, set up, respond to, etc., and automatically includes methods to keep those who have signed up engaged in what they've signed up for.

I am an introvert and calling people to remind them things is like death by a thousand awkward, panicky, sweaty palmed-phone calls. I literally can't listen to the song that I set as my ringtone because it stresses me out thinking it might be someone calling. Enter SignUpGenius, which allows me to save all my people energy for the actual event. It is quick and easy to set up, I haven't run into any configuration I haven't been able to set up. I like being able to invite people directly or just include a link in an e-blast or online newsletter. I love that you can set auto-reminders. I love that you can set it so that everyone can see what others have committed to (or not). I don't have to be the master list keeper unless I want to.

Nachteile

I can literally think of no cons. Some of their backgrounds are goofy but there are enough good ones you don't have to worry.

I liked that you were not forced to create a profile to use the software. I also loved the ease of signing up and editing my sign up and then adding it to my calendar.

As much as it was easy to add the signups to my Google Calendar, I wish that it would have a button to add all the events rather than clicking on each event to add them individually.

We have used this for various functions in our company and I find it to be easy and fairly straightforward. Although I'm never in favor of creating another login, the fact that you do, means that the application remembers what you've attended. And, for the next time, it allows for quick sign up (which is pretty important around here) because you have a login.

Well, as I said, I never like creating yet another login, but this is quick and easy. I have had a couple of issues with signing up in the past but it's been a while.

This software is user friendly and offers a wide variety of "formats." As a teacher, I use it regularly to create sign ups for classroom party supplies, scheduling of parent/teacher conferences, and as an overall method of communication with parents about upcoming events. This eliminates the need for a lot of "back and forth" emails, since they can just RSVP and sign up all in one spot.

Sometimes the "duplicate" feature doesn't work as smoothly as I'd like. We often use it as a team and want to copy the same signup for every teacher on our grade level team and this has not always been the easiest.

SignUp Genius is very easy to use. Setting up a sign up opportunity takes just a few minutes, and it can be customized to meet various needs. When others sign up, the information is immediately available to the administrator (and others can see it to) to easily keep track of which positions have been filled and which still need to be filled.

Follow up emails often land in spam unless a user has added to their safe list - getting everyone to do that can be cumbersome.

One of the best features of SignUp Genius for churches and non-profits is it's price. Nothing beats it. It also is able to give you many slots to sign up with other people. It's perfect for getting big groups to sign up for certain slots.

It's not the smoothest software. It can be a little clunky and is not beautifully designed. With big groups, it's a little frustrating to scroll through many pages of signups to get to open slots. I wish there was a little more functionality with all of that. I wish there were more design options.

I like that I can create a sign up form online for people to access. It makes signing up workers for carnivals or other events much easier.

I'd like to be able to use it for people to save the date for something, such as a work schedule. From what I have used the program for so far, I only see a way to set up an event or activity for parents to sign up to work.

I like that this system makes it easy to allow people to sign up for shifts at a volunteer event. I especially like that you can define how many people can do something so that you don't get too many in a particular time slot. The system allows you to modify unselected times, as well.

Depending on the template you use, it can look a little old-fashioned. Sometimes the graphics get squished. The free system is great to start, but if you want to add custom questions, you are limited to one per signup. The basic plan is reasonably priced, though.

Using SignUpGenius to coordinate volunteers for community projects run by my undergraduate student marketing organization made my life so much easier. I loved how it was extremely intuitive, allowed me to clearly and distinctly outline roles and times, and presented the sign up information to viewers in a clean, straightforward way.

In the future I would love to see the ability to customize SignUpGenius more, such as through adding the logo of your company or organization on the volunteer signup page.

I was first introduced to SingUpGenius when I was working a full time job in marketing. We were required to find volunteers for events and SignUpGenius made that so easy. We used it in online marketing and were able to fill volunteer positions ever single time we used it! SUP makes it easy for both the company needing volunteers/sign-ups but also the people on the other end volunteering or offering their time! I've personally had good experiences on either end of the program.

Nachteile

The biggest "Con" I can think of is that sometimes the program, when you hook it up to your digital calendar (I use Google), will add the events multiple times when you are on the "user" end of the program. On the "owner" end of the program, I have not come across issues.

This is a silly "con" but the design is rather obnoxious and doesn't look very professional especially if you are trying to use it for business purposes.

Sign up Genius is extremely helpful in organizing group events from many aspects; teams, offices, churches, luncheons, food trees. This is a simple, easy way for you to get your group to sign up for an event or food need with no overlapping. Each time slot allows the user to explain what day and time and, if you have requested, as the organizer, what item they will be bringing.

Nachteile

In my experience, there does not seem to be sufficient communication with the individuals who have signed up and the organizer, as their day/time approaches. It is also not as compatible with you calendar, as it should be. Implementing text notifications would take Sign Up Genius to the next level.

Introduced to Signup Genius through my son's school - from there I incorporated it into all the events I need to schedule for personal events, sports, gatherings, volunteering for Boy Scout events and now use if for scheduling work functions where volunteers are needed. I have only used the basic plan and it has worked wonders but you cannot beat the monthly cost if more detailed scheduling is needed.

Really, I have no cons with the using Signup Genius, its a great online form to use for any activity where volunteers are needed.

It wasn't the software, but some users do not know how to create categories so it makes it difficult for individuals to sign up for various tasks, Perhaps, examples of how people can use it might be helpful to those that are building sign up tasks.

It fails when it comes to ease of use for more complex tasks like appointment sign ups. In this regard, it is difficult to automate the schedule for appointments every "X" minutes on certain days between certain times (for example to set up 15 minute appointments back to back on Mondays and Thursdays between 10am and 2pm). You can do that on this software, but it is time consuming and there are better software solutions.

I like that SignUpGenius is free and that there are a variety of options for letting folks reply to your event invitation. I also like that it can show time slots that are unavailable, if you are having people sign up for personal appointments.

Honestly, I think the color scheme and iconography on the site is rather hokey and outdated. It reminds me of graphic design from the 90's. It could really use a UI revamp.

Remember those old sign up sheets that were passed around to get filled? Ha! No more! Easily compile a list of jobs for which people can sign up, add your email addresses, and send it on. Automatic updates are super helpful telling you who has signed up. Send reminders easily!

I regularly use this software to set up tutoring groups for medical students in their first year at my university. It easily allows me to regulate the group sizes and keeps all of my sign-ups in one convenient location. One feature that is a must for me is the ability to incorporate the sign-ups from SignUpGenius into my other calendars, such as Google calendar or iCal, which this platform does seamlessly.

Nachteile

One con that I have experienced is that you are unable to click the back button to go back to the previous page when using the platform on a computer. This lack of ability can make it a bit tricky to sign up for events that are time-sensitive or tend to fill up quickly. Other than that this is a fantastic scheduling platform.

We have used this program to show appreciation for our teachers throughout the school year. SignUpGenius has reduced the amount of work it took our office to coordinate this. It simplified the process for our parents, and increased the number of parents that participated in our event. We had a much better turn out every time we used this method of signing up to bring something in, versus trying to use a spread sheet or any other method of signing up. It has made coordinating these events much more enjoyable for our staff.

The initial time using the program was a little tedious, until I got the hang of the method of entering the quantities desired.

1. Once you accept the invitation it shows on your calendar FOUR TIMES.
2. If the event turns out to end earlier or later you cannot edit on your calendar.
3. If the event has been changed by the organizer, the participants do not always get notification NOR can they remove it manually if they weren't able to attend
4. The support person twice sent instructions to fix but they did not work.

I’ve used sign up genius many times for things such as elementary school class party supply list, parent teacher conference sign ups, volunteer work hours sign up, and many more. It’s so easy to use you just go in and choose for example the time slot the best suited your availability, or the item you chose to bring . Instead of getting multiple people to respond to emails and then having to use separate programs to file all of the content it’s just right there on one page easy to see

Honestly I don’t think there is anything I did not like. While I enjoy seeing that Suzy is bringing cherries for the ice cream Sunday party and Johnny is bringing the sprinkles I’m not sure everyone would appreciate their names being seen

Free account is useful with very few limitations. Good automatic and manual communication attributes for users to contact people who sign up. Pretty intuitive design and specialization. Paid account just ups the abilities.

Frequently the web servers are down, which can create some confusion with people who are trying to interact with your sign-up. It's very intermittent, but in the limited time we use the service, once a quarter, it happens a few times, each time. This is just annoying, not a deal breaker. Would like to see the structure be a little more reliable.

When I was in university I had classes and clubs that required certain meetings, exam objections or psychology experiments. We used SignUpGenius for every one of them for the sole reason of ease of use and practicality. The user interface is so easy that it is impossible to not understand. We chose the available slot and it also sent an email for a reminder. I still use it and it is still time saving and practical.

SignUpGenius is a great tool for coordinating volunteers. As a free software, it's great and incredibly useful. It comes with many templates and features. It takes some time to figure out how to make your sign-up look like you want it to, but then you are good to go.

One of the great features of SignUpGenius is that is will email your volunteers in advance to remind them of their commitment. This is great because it takes following-up with and reminding volunteers off your plate and does that for you!

Nachteile

It does take a little time to figure it out at first. You can't sign-on for your first time and expect to have a sign-up ready to go in minutes.

Also, some people speak of this as a lifesaver or game-changer when it comes to getting volunteers. That hasn't been my experience. It makes organizing volunteers and coordinating them easier, but it isn't going to bring them in as easily as some people might claim.

SignUpGenius is incredible useful when it come to the life of our church. We are able to use it for all of out events, retreats, volunteers, and more. It gives us great access to info that lets us know how many people will becoming, how many volunteers we will have or still need, and we can communicate with all of them.

- Ability to see where we are lacking or need more signups or volunteers

Nachteile

The only con I have had is it is hard to get our older members to integrate into using it. Not really a fault of the company but it a difficulty. Not sure there is a way for the company to somehow be more senior friendly.

It is an easy way to organize a volunteer list for people, items, or supplies. We have used this for classrooms, sports teams, picnics, class donations, etc. You can see what is needed, how many slots have been filled and it is all in one place. It emails you a reminder of what you signed up for which is great as an end user. For example, for home football games, volunteers are needed for the entrance gates, sidelines, control the chain markers and sell merchandise. All home games can be loaded with each job needed, how many people at each and time slots. Then parents can log in and choose what they can do. We used this for Senior night at my son's baseball game just recently as well. Rather than emails back and forth between parents and the liaison, the sign up genius was sent out with what was needed-types of food, tables, coolers, ice, drinks, etc

Nachteile

As an end user, without the link to find the event I am looking for, I do not know how to search for it. I usually have to find the original email I was sent or a reminder email to log into the event I want. Not sure if there is a better way.

It's great at what it is for - doesn't everyone know this already? If you haven't used SignUpGenius before then I don't know where you have been. This seems like such a common software to me. I like best the automatic email reminders it sends when you are signed up for something.

Nachteile

If I had signed up for a shift, but now cannot do it and I need to look for a replacement, it would be cool if I could email other people through the software to reach out and find someone to fill my spot. I guess what I like least is that it does not have this capability.
