It has a very corporate feel, and Prezi is a lot more fun and cloud based. The toughest part about Powerpoint (legacy editions) is that they're not in the cloud, so you have to save it locally. Powerpoint has a boring reputation for a reason. Great for corporate environments, not for startups.

It serves its purpose for what it was designed for very effectively. It allows you to easily set up a presentation in a way that is user-friendly, easy to design, and easy to export/view. It is a widely enough used platform that you don't have to export your presentation in any specific file format to view it on a different machine or computer. You can just save the file as a PowerPoint document and load it right up, as most system setups have the Windows Office Suite installed (which includes PowerPoint). Even if they don't, though, it is a common enough format that most file viewers will recognize it regardless.

The features are a little limited, and no matter how much you personalize it, it always feels like a "PowerPoint Presentation" instead of just a "presentation". The capabilities of other editing/publishing software are putting out alternatives that are not as user-friendly or easy to learn, but offer more advanced features. Again, for what it is (and what it claims to offer to do) it is very effective. It just feels a bit limited, and every presentation I make seems to look somewhat the same. Perhaps some additional personalization or customization options would be nice, or at least a way to make it flow as a video more effectively than the way it is set up now, which is really just with timed/interconnected slides.

Some of the disadvantages are:
1. It is very easy to configure when you save it in another device or send it by mail and you have to reconfigure the information you want to give.
2. The beginning of creating the slides is already very old and you have to put more variety
3. When the movements are placed either to the letters or information does not give a signal that is the last of the slides and makes it go to another slide and entertains the person who is giving the information.
4. To make it very easy to use it is sometimes somewhat cumbersome to put movements to the information.

New version updates of PowerPoint needed considerable amount of storage usage to operate thus it having new attractive features. So that if we need eexcellent experience in PowerPoint, we need storage space in some amount.

I have been using PowerPoint for a very long time, and it is a fantastic piece of software when I have a very singular purpose: when I want to simply make a slideshow that contains images and text. If I was working on a more collaborative project then I would use something like Google Slides, but when I'm working on my home computer on a personal slideshow then PowerPoint is great. It's easy to use and very reliable. The slide templates are also great for creating a very organized presentation.

PowerPoint is very good for making a slideshow with just images or text, but I commonly run into trouble or frustrating moments when trying to do something beyond that with PowerPoint. One example of this is with animations. Animations are a great way to make a PowerPoint slideshow keep the interest of whoever you're presenting it to, but creating them can be an time-demanding p and difficult process. PowerPoint has some very cool features/capabilities such as this but they are not clearly explained and not very intuitive.

Powerpoint is not easy to use, especially without an intrinsic eye for design. While it's utility is unquestioned, I'd be lying if I said I looked forward to building presentations in Powerpoint simply because I'm not the most creative person (more of an excel person than Powerpoint).
The learning curve is steep and it can sometimes be a bit opaque in terms of presenting options outside of boilerplate templates.

The features such as adding a equation, performing calculations, adding tables, customizing the entire presentation according to your need, makes it even more amazing. It is useful for people of any age. I have been using this tool since my school days when I used to make project reports. Now when I am into my job in corporate world, I am still using the same tool just with different features. The tools keep on updating.

One needs to devote time to be familiar with Powerpoint and to understand its features in deep. Also, the text transitioning thing can be updated for better. It still looks childish making the transitions in the text. Additionally, if the tool starts offering the basic editing of images, it will be a cherry on top.

There are all sorts of new bells and whistles that other programs can handle these days. With the technology speeding forward on phones and websites, PowerPoint can sometimes look dated. It doesn't do well with motion graphics. Facebook has figured out how to make static images look 3D...but I would fear that would make PowerPoint crash. Wouldn't it be cool to utilize some of the transitions that web pages are using these days as transitions in a presentation? Make it smooth and seamless. This may be possible on some level (by an expert user), but not with ease.

I've been using Microsoft powerpoint for as long as I can recall, whether it be for creating short presentations in graduation competitions, or now for creating marketing presentations for clients. I've been using powerpoint to create interactive presentations for our client roadshows, and I've got such amazing feedback from my team leads every time. I really like the new 3D depth effects and morph transition effect.

Powerpoint is probably not the strongest in terms of editing of pictures or designs or layouts as compared to some of the other designing tools out there.
I've also had compatibility issues while transitioning between different versions of powerpoint over the years, where some of the features aren't available on the previous versions and you don't know if a client is going to be able to view that new design you just used in the ppt.

The program has been around for ages. It's simple to get started and you will finish a presentation very easily in a short amount of time. It's interface is very intuitive and you can insert pictures and other media with ease. You can change the background and change your visual impact with ready to use templates that saves you time. You can visualize previews of each slide in real time on the left side of the main preview window and that helps a lot in achieving a better result.

The animations are bit tricky to get used to if you are looking to use certain types of animations for specific impacts on the presentation. If you want to create specific movements and animations to add special emphasis to your presentation and be able to communicate more effectively, it will take you more time to get it right. Some pictures tend to move when inserted with certain layout formats and make the slides move or become unaligned along with other texts if you edit one picture in a different slide and will make you spend extra time re-aligning other slides.

What I liked the most about PowerPoint is the fact that it's a very intuitive tool. I've been using it for more than 10 years and had the time to see the evolution of the software over the years. The workflow of a person doing a presentation became easier, while having more tools at the disposal. The templates it offers are quite good for a regular user and I used them in the past quite often when having a close deadline. The fact that the user can make charts with the use of Excel is, again, a quite powerful feature it offers - this was probably my most used feature.

What I don't like so much about PowerPoint is the fact that I can't always make the design of the presentation look flashy or interesting. While there are a lot of features in the design / transition areas, there are other better solutions for doing those.

It can produce static and/or animated slides, and also has quite a few export options. There are several themes that can be used for that quick presentation, or with the ability to import almost anything such as fonts, images, clips, etc. a fully-customized slide show can be created for those more important times when a little pizzazz is needed.

Some of the advanced options (like customizing slide transitions) can be a little tricky to master because the icon titles and/or descriptions can be vague as to what to command actually does. Also, the lack of a one-click "preview" after making a change (from anywhere) means having to click out of where you're working just to see if something worked. There are models available, and any user may choose one on which to base their presentation. Furthermore, the tool is compatible with the majority of presentation hardware and software currently available. The presentation program will also export to ppt format.

There isn't much about me that I don't like. Because of some of the design work I do, I'd like to have better tables. Although the software includes some interesting table design concepts, I'd prefer to have a simple table with the same features as a table created in Word or Excel. I haven't figured out how to get it yet. Is it possible that it's there? However, there are several useful design elements built in, which have proven useful for flow charts and the like. But, aside from adding a quick, easy-to-access table, I can't think of anything else I'd alter.

Its particularly useful for lawyers like myself and it has expanded its features making it competitive with other new PPT products and cloud based solutions. Its also universal used across industries so it easy to rely on and send material across the company as well as outside.

Microsoft allows its products to be used on Cloud based as well and has updated its features so there is nothing I do not like about this software other than price could be lower (that being said it comes with Word and Excel so we really one cannot complain too much about the price)

I like how easy is to work with and the nice amounts of animations available, plus the templates included with the software or available online makes it easier to start with a solid design.

The interface is easy to use, with the exception of the timeline features, and the amount of support available online is quite good.

It is also a nice design alternative to Publisher, as you can export as PNG files as well.

There are a few aspects that I don't link about this software, like trying long animations as the current timeline feature can be confusing and the lag present when showing at high resolution even on powerful computers (similar to Flash in the past).

While needing to install a software to show your presentation is something I dislike, it is something I understand mostly on devices without Windows (which surprisingly doesn't have any native player included)

Unfortunately, when you have a program that can do everything you need it to, it can be difficult to pinpoint specifically what you want it to do. For example, if you're a beginner, it can require some digging simply to find how to present your project. If you want to present while having personal notes on your screen, that's an even larger ordeal. Of course, the can all be solved with some quick internet research, but it would be nice if some of these features weren't so well hidden. It's a small price to pay for everything the software is capable of. The largest gripe I have, however, is the abysmal costumer service. The number to call is well hidden (like most), and every time I attempted contact, I was greeted by a representative who seemed to know less than I did about the program. This doesn't mean the software itself is bad, but be aware of that.

Besides standing in front of my staff feeling important! Utilizing a visual aid to sbow and discuss new wines and regions has a definate effect on people. For some reason it seems they pay more attention as the discussion is so visiable. Putting a presentation together is so easy and choosing formats and colors allows for more interesting visuals.

It does take a little more time than say a printed handout. That being said its still worth it. Correction of errors does on occasion clear the board and a start over is necessary and that does take time and energy and is very frustrating. New versions have dealt with that and making a visual has become easier.

I use Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentations for a friend who is in sales and marketing field. He provides me with the written content and I can apply my creativity using this software to make the presentation look professional. I can add photos, tables, and videos. I can manipulate any content such as editing a picture (adding color to a black and white photo or turning it upside down etc..) There is a lot of animation to choose from along with some sound effects. However, for a presentation that is mostly composed of text content, I do not use too many animations. I also do not use any sound effects along with the animation, I find it annoying (as an audience). Powerpoint is also compatible with any microsoft office applications. Also, I can attach the entire presentation and send it to my friend via email.

I cannot really find any cons to this software except that the designs are somewhat limited. The same design only different color themes. I hope Microsoft will have a more variety. I would like to customize my design based on the type of company my presentation is going to be presented to. There was a time when my presentation is to be presented at a resort (with swim with the dolphins). I was looking for a design that looks "tropical" or 'beachy" but I couldn't find any.

My biggest pain point is actually two things:

1) When in presentation mode it takes over your entire screen and if plugged into a monitor takes over both screens so you can't do anything else.

2) There isn't a way to have "presenter mode" on just one screen- you have to be plugged into another monitor.

It has a large amount of templates to choose from that other online only programs don’t have which make it easy to find something that will fit with what I am Presenting and help it to look professional. Iam a graduate student and have to make presentations often and I want them to look better than a quickly put together presentation that you’d see in undergrad.
It is also easy to add videos or audio to a slide, that helps in showing short demonstrations during my presentation.
I often work on my slides while riding the bus to and from school, so it is very nice that it is a program installed on my computer. Without internet, I have no problem working on projects.

Nachteile

I do wish that it was easier to collaborate with other classmates. Many prefer google just because it has an easy way to all work on the same presentation. I prefer the features on PowerPoint and wish it had a good way to collaborate.

Vorteile

In PowerPoint you can create screens that effectively incorporate text and photos, illustrations, drawings, tables, graphics and movies, and move from one slide to another. But, I like being able to animate text and illustrations on the screen using the animation feature, as well as add narration and sound effects.

Nachteile

What I do not like about the powertpoint is that it collects very slowly the low capacity computers, in its most current versions 2013 and 2016, I would recommend that your requirements at the hardware level be much lower. And I do not like it is that the files that are inserted into the slides automatically do not adapt and lose their originality, and increases the size of the powerpoint file.
