I didn't know there was a product that could integrate with DHCP servers and switches in such a way that it could easily report usage and availability. It is great at these items. Their support is wonderful and quick.

Nachteile

Sometimes the software reports having issues connecting to network switches periodically. But it really isn't a con, because it connects at least once a day and new devices don't get added to my networks that often.

Couple things.Get rid of the adds at the top bar. I bought a product, I don't want repeated notifications to buy others. Turns me off completely to looking at all the other offerings.The scan is too slow and does not update often enough to reflect changes in DNS.When scrolling down a range to find an IP, the view resets and puts me back at the top of the adress space no matter what I do it will not refresh every minute.Login window is confusing.SSO setup is misleading and documentation is inaccurate.

Vorteile

The IP Address Management (IPAM) in OpUtils has been quite useful for mapping and tracking our IP address range. The attribute of advanced IP scanning allow detecting IP availability in real time which helps avoid conflicts and utilize the IPs efficiently. The centralized console is convenient for viewing and organizing multiple subnets.

Nachteile

It is observed that OpUtils could have been better optimized for scalability in handling large networks. It becomes very tedious during the process of subnet scanning and hence may take a lot of time to get the latest information.

We need a product like OpUtils to fulfill a compliance requirement. The price is reasonable and setup was relatively easy.
I like that I can tie together the network scan results with data pulled from my switch. I get a much more comprehensive view of what is on my network. The rogue device identification is great but took some time to sort out (identify) non-rogue devices.

Nachteile

OpUtils has the ability to link up with a firewall but I'm running a SonicWall. That link is not available at this time. I run DHCP from my SonicWall so I'm missing DHCP data. I have submitted a feature request.
I found a few of the configuration entry points unintuitive.

ManageEngine OpUtils’ Bandwidth Monitor has proved to be an incredibly useful tool to assist in monitoring the network bandwidth. We have also noticed that we can be on top of interface traffic and utilization to tell that we have a choke point.

Nachteile

A disadvantage of this software is that it cannot be hosted on the cloud. This limits its capabilities to allow for centralised remote administration and management of the network and teamwork across different regions.

It has two specific feature; IPAM (IP Address Management) and SPM (Switch Port Mapping). The IPAM is very useful when managing many subnets on the environment. The SPM is also useful to decrease the security concerns as increasing the visibility of the environment. It can identify the rogue devices as well.

Nachteile

The product can do IP Address Management but it cannot show the old time data for the IPs occupied by which devices. If this is implemented to the product, it can help solving and understanding the issues happened in the past as analyzing IP address leasing for specific date/time. Additionally, the visibility of device types on the environment can be improved as fetching data via WMI, SSH, SNMP, etc.

for IP addressing management, it works well witch Cisco, but it does not wir well with other brands, line Palo Alto.. I have the DHCP of my vlans running in a centralized firewall (PaloAlto) and the Ip addressing is not capable of get information form them.

The device availability monitoring section was noteworthy as it raised alerts whenever certain devices in the hospital were offline. It also helped me to solve quick some problems that might have, otherwise, led to a considerable amount of time wasted and little production.

Some problems were with the bandwidth monitoring tool which from time to time indicated different data on the traffic in the network. Such inconsistency created difficulties in using the bandwidth usage measurement for analysis.

I like the network tools and interface monitoring feature of the software and it compares configuration changes and it saves running as we as start-up configuration changes that is next level and the configuration backup schedule is way to much.

It was easy to setup, incredibly easy. The training was done very well. However, my favorite feature is really the product and usage sceanrio itself- it has made a world of difference tracking and managing our network resources. Our Fluke has gotten a lot less use since we implemented Oputils!

It is extremely slow. Often frustratingly slow. We have checked server resource usage and do not see a correlation. However, I have done nothing in the system itself or done any research to see if there is some other way to help.

Probably the thing I like most about OpUtils is that though the Utilities and features it has can be done through other means, the fact that they are baked into the Opmanager console makes it super convenient to use without searching all over for the functionality.

This is probably just a gripe about the overall Opmanager tool. The SAML authentication implementation needs some work. Which is strange to me because other Manageengine tools have SAML working perfectly.

Setup is a breeze. I use it mostly for IP mapping and alerting of any rogue IP activity, as well as switch port mapping and alerting on bandwidth overages etc.

I am having an issue with the report exporting functions not working, I try to export a report in any fashion, xls, pdf etc. and they download but are blank. I have emailed support with a screenshot but I haven't tried to contact support within the product which I will try next. Overall nothing that bad to say about it, it's useful, lightweight, powerful for what features it does have, is customizable, and very reasonably priced. Also, our some of our IP scopes expanded from /24 to /23, and initially I couldn't add the new scopes without upgrading the license, but they pro-rated the license so it was very affordable to upgrade and expand our range of monitoring.
