So far, great tool

So far good, its definitely taking a while to get up and running and getting the team trained and getting all our past photography loaded.

Easy to use and customizable

It has allowed us to keep of all of our photos and videos in one place and create presentations based off of the assets in the system.

Great Tool

For an average user looking to take on an admin role (me!), Canto takes some time to learn all the tools to customize it to your teams needs. It is the 'problem' you face when given layers upon layers of options. However, it is worth the time and effort because once you get the hang of it, this software quickly becomes a necessity for any team. Our group of designers have a long legacy of products to manage ranging from quark files found on a floppy disc to mobile apps to multilingual video projects. Canto simplifies and streamlines our process across the board, cuts back errors and increases communication. We are 6 months into lightly launching this to our team and training has been simple to teach because of an intuitive online user interface. When problems do arise, the customer service team at Canto is quick to customize our needs and walk through helping us find a solution.

Great tool when you know how to use it!

So far so good! I see how this will be a powerful tool for my team.

I feel that the interface is really intuitive. I do work on the computer all day and am familiar with technology, but I'm not a super technological person. I do feel like this has been easy to navigate so far.

Cumulus is a GAME CHANGER

After years of need and investigation into DAM solutions our company implemented Cumulus earlier this year and it has been a live saver on multiple occasions. Not only are we able to share and distribute assets within our walls, we can extend our assets to outside agencies.

Assets are quick to add, have an unlimited amount a editable metadata and the platform makes it easy to take advantage of key functions like approval processes and version control.

We're on our way to having close to 1000 digital assets by the end of the year and plan on doubling that in 2016.

Loving Canto So Far

We have been using Canto Flight as our Data Asset Management system for the past 6 months or so. Overall, we are very pleased with it. It is easy to use and understand, and has a lot of great features. I'm not super excited about the way its lightbox feature works and I don't like how limited my user base and storage amount is for the fee we pay each month, so those are some limitations. It's a fairly expensive subscription service and the jury is still out for us whether we will ultimately be able to continue using and affording it. But for now, we're happy with it.

Easy deployment, reliable environment

We just deployed Cumulus X for our creative team and the process has been successful, the installation of the server side of the product as well as the client was very easy and simple. The workflow on our creative team has been positively impacted.

decent DAM, good fit with LAMP

Good DAM system for getting our communications specialists to start share their digital assets, and particularly stop storing them haphazardly on their personal systems. For that goal, the managed central repository with meaningful tagging and organizing,Canto has worked very well.
Also good integration with our opensource / LAMP infrastructure. The tomcat based web service and filesystem based storage makes it an easy fit with our other services, and for easy backups.

A critical tool for our asset managment.

As the Canto administrator, I love the control that I have over a users permissions and access they have to various catalogs. I can quickly and easily create new users, or modify an existing user profile. This is extremely important due to the fast paced nature of our work
At times, I can feel overwhelmed at the immense capabilities of what Canto has to offer, though I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not. That being said, the support services provided are extremely helpful, and I find it very easy to get help whenever it's needed.
With over a half a million assets, and growing each day, we would not be able to do our jobs without Canto. The tools contained within the Canto software greatly increase our productivity and accuracy.

Our group has been using Canto for years now. It has been a great system for our huge archive of photos.

Has a robust amount of options and features that you can use.

It handles all of our different raw camera formats.

Lots of different search capabilities.

They continually have webinar's that are very helpful to learning more about how the system works. I also attended one of the hands on seminars at their head quarts in San Francisco. I was a weeklong class that proved to be a great resource. When I have questions I continually go back to my notes form the week to find the answers I need. They also have a great forum where a lot of user questions are already answered.

Fabulous. Everything from the platform to the customer service has been incredible.

Best DAM found- the most flexibility for the best price.

I like how malleable the program is and that it offers us an option to house assets in-house and also access them via online services. We can program and add fields as we grow our metadata needs, and the program allows for the most file types of them all.

We are solving multi-channel use for our image assets, logos, and videos. Canto offers a platform to be able to easily collaborate with multiple departments, and now that it is compatible with Sitecore, it has become a perfect fit for our marketing and branding teams.

I wish more scripts were available from Canto. We hired OTEC to create custom scripts for us which have reduced asset management time considerably.

Time tested stable solution

I like that Canto has been around forever. It is a stable solution that does what we need it to do to help manage assets. There are a lot of features that we do not use but are there when we would like to use them without having to call for custom development.

Although, it is not easy to extract data out of Canto or import data into Canto from other systems. There are a lot of features that without proper training and support will not get utilized.

We were simply trying to solve the location of assets within our marketing and product offering along with categorizing our assets and having a simple way to search for them. It does exactly that and a lot more

Canto Working Great for Us!

We have used Canto for our photo uploading management system for a few years now and it has definitely provided us with a more efficient way to maintain our images and share them across the company. We have also recently starting using the video archiving tool to get our videos off hard drives and make them more manageable and accessible via an organized Canto catalog. We have great experience with our representative, Phoenix as well. She is always quick to answer our questions and spend time with us to ensure we are implementing and configuringCanto in the best way possible for our needs. Overall, very happy with the experience with Canto to this point.

A DAM good decision! SO much better than Dropbox

Flight by Canto has really helped our business with the management and dissemination of digital assets. This had been a pain point for us for a long time. I researched a lot of DAMs on the market but couldn't justify most of the exorbitant prices. Flight does what we need at a great value. While the UX can sometimes be a little challenging, we're seeing the platform get better. Thanks, Canto!

This software has been great every step of the way, especially with Canto's incredible implementation team.

Feature rich DAM that is very stable and easy to use.

We've been using Canto for more than 6 years now. Although, our version is relatively older it still works as expected. The software is very stable and easy to use. Management and administration is a breeze. Catalog can be created with ease and metadata can be customized to fit your requirements.

One major drawback with our version is the ability to archived new formats. For example InDesign's .idml extention and .epub files is a tad slow to process. We are in the process of upgrading to the latest version to fix these limitations.

Overall, it is a very versatile DAM solution that will meet your requirements.
