The amount of features in Canto is superb. They understood the importance of accessibility and customization when creating this product.

Not really a con, but some of the features do make other features slightly redundant.

I love how easy it is to add assets to our library and there are lots of great organizing tools such as keywords, tags, smart tags, folders, etc.

Nachteile

Some of the features are clunky. Such as the bossy autofill when adding tags, and when you open an image with lots of tags, they don't all show.

One of my favorite things, is how easy it is to create albums after events. My admin loads the photos pretty quickly, and I can share albums with corporate partners documenting their sponsorships, and have that documentation to them within the same week. This documentation is so critical to sustaining my sponsors, and for it all to be in one place and easy to distribute, makes my job so much easier.

Nachteile

For what I use it for, I don't really have anything negative to say. Load time is a bit slow at times, I suppose, but that seems like an issue more on my end depending if I'm on wifi or not.

Central, easy-to-use, media repository. All media can be loaded and the entire team can collaborate and make decisions and comments on marketing material.

Interface is slow. Searching through a large amount of images is tedious.

I like that it is a self-service database where associates can access approved, current assets without having to ask staff to spend time finding or recreating assets. You know the content is approved and ready to use. The Canto drag and drop feature makes adding assets to files super easy. Another great feature is being able to bundle assets into one link to share with clients.

Nachteile

A built-in connector to SalesForce would be nice.

I like the ability to access our files from anywhere without the need for complex server access.

The inability to work on Adobe files from the server.

Before, our photos were saved in various folders throughout a server network. I would often have a photo in mind that I've seen before but not be sure where to find it. Or else I'd have a need for a certain type of photo but have trouble finding one that fit that need.

This really simplifies that process.

Nachteile

The facial recognition is a great feature, but you do have to pay attention to it. If a weird, blurry image gets tagged as a certain person, that error could replicate throughout future uploads.

I like how easy it is to organize your files and photos. The tagging option has been super helpful. I also really like how you can sort how you want to view your images.

When you want to move a folder it can be a little annoying and difficult because you have to drag it.

Occasional problems with custom fonts and image rendering. Most of our issues are related to unexpected software functions but most are easily resolved once we're familiar with how it works.

The simplicity of the design makes it feel incredibly streamlined. Being able to connect to other Cloud-based storage is very helpful. As a milennial, I find it incredibly user-friendly & intuitive (though my older coworkers still have trouble).

Nachteile

The search functionality is limiting & easily the hardest process to teach/explain to less savvy coworkers. I would love to see an 'advanced search' feature to search within specific folders, with combined terms, etc. without those different terms being confused in the search.

Canto allows you to efficiently manage and catalog a large amount of images and photographs.
Its strengths are the ease of sharing images and the ease with which you can change the download formats.

A negative side is the graphic aspect which is perhaps too minimal

Canto is one of the best platforms I have used to share media across different teams within a company. I am able to use assets that are uploaded by another team for my own team's marketing purposes.

The user interface could be more intuitive. For example, mass downloads of media assets would be great or a single download function button on an image without having to click into the image.

We love that Canto makes it so easy to keyword, tag, and describe each photo we own to make it easier for us to find them in the future. The facial recognition is an amazing feature for Canto.

We have found it challenging to find time to upload the photos and add the tags, so we have a volunteer coming in to help us with this. It is a lot of initial work to set up Canto but it is definitely worth it!

Very easy to navigate and intuitive to use - was not given much direction or instruction on how the software worked but I picked up quickly. Good looking aesthetic - I am in it often and I enjoy looking at it (nothing worse than staring at a screen you think is hideous).

Some buttons are missing - for example, an 'unrelate button'. I accidentally related 25 photos to each other and had to manually unrelate them all.

The tagging, sorting, organizing, searching, and sharing options with Flight are intuitive, robust, and also simple. There are a lot of complicated products on the market, but this one feels like it was designed with creative teams in mind, not to be overly technical.

It's highly customizable with options for virtually any workflow you would like to build. I feel ours is rather complicated, but it was able to adjust to our process.

As one of the first installs with cloud storage, we definitely had some stability problems in the beginning. Lots of bugs to squash and server issues. Since then, many of those issues have been ironed out with improved customer service.

I liked the easiness of uploading images and finding images quickly so I don't have to dig through a bunch of unnecessary photos. I can look up a keyword and the photo will appear.

Nachteile

It doesn't filter out bad or pix-elated images. We have to filter those out ourselves.

Very easy for new users to jump in and get started, and importing images from G Drive is a breeze. We appreciated that they provide a demo for us to try before we committed to anything. The onboarding has been extremely helpful and they continue to provide support to help us with anything that comes up. Video transcription is also a very useful tool.

There are no cons that we can see at this time.

The user interface design is a little dated in comparison with other companies, but it does what is supposed to do, so not the prettiest, but it works.

I really enjoyed using the direct GD upload function, tagging, searching the files and being able to relate files is a great feature. Portals are also amazing for sharing files with outside partners.

Probably speed at certain moments (although not all the time) and smoothing out the GD connectivity (just making sure the sync works flawlessly). Also being able to see which files were automatically uploaded in a more prominent place would be amazing (currently it's not that clear)

The software allows as many catalogs as needed. It also works inside the Adobe Creative Suite so designers don't have to get out of InDesign or Photoshop to get images. The web version, Canto Sites, allows sharing of assets with outside freelancers and vendors.

There is a big learning curve and while customer support is great, training is limited and/or expensive.

I think it's more around how our organization uses it, but the content we post there isn't always uploaded super quickly.
