I like the fact that the software is web based. I don't have to depend on a network connection to get to the desired graphics.

I use Canto at the university to find photos I need to promote the College of Engineering. I find it to be easy to locate and the photos are available in a variety of sizes. The face recognition feature is very helpful.

Nachteile

I can't really identify anything that I can say I don't like about this software. We used to use an image library, and this is much better.

I really like the facial recognition capabilities of Canto, the smart tagging, and all around customization of the tool. Great connections with Adobe products as well.

It's a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.

What I like most is that I can access my digital assets from anywhere. The private sharing portals are a safe and simple way to share your assets with outside sources.

Nachteile

I haven't worked with the product long enough to really develop any strong cons. If anything, the API piece to connect to your company infrastructure needs to be a little clearer on how it works for the average non-IT department user.

I love the album features that makes it easy to see your files, and love the integration to Box, Dropbox and more for easy file transfer.

Nachteile

Overall design and website animations feel dated and clunky, empty folders look ugly as well. Definitely a learning curve involved in using Canto.

It's so robust it was a little difficult to wrap our heads around at first in terms of how we wanted to set it up, but once we really dug in, it all made total sense.

We used canto to organize advertiser assets. The best feature is organization. You can create different folders, drag and drop as well as add tags for individual assets. This made searching for assets easy.

We have a very large amount of photo assets that need to be shared throughout departments. Canto has been great at easing the process of searching the photo library. The ability to create tags for such a variety has helped save time and ensure that all of the assets are properly sorted.

My only issue with Canto is the user-interface. I don't feel that it is easy to navigate without proper onboarding. Once you get the hang of it, it is no problem.

I sometimes struggle with auto-tags or auto-keywords as I feel it doesn't best fit our needs.

Not only does it help with client relations, but it also helps us internally. When we have assets that need to be shared across the team, it's so much easier to just put everything in Canto, as opposed to constantly have to email images around. I can't recommend it enough.

I wish there was an easier way to select multiple images to share with another user, but I heard they are adding a drag feature, which should make it easier.

Simple to use and works in both a browser and a desktop app. It has previews for Adobe native files which helps a lot when looking for specific assets.

The UI isn't great — it's not easy to view + pull down assets quickly without "going into" them. The UX could definitely benefit from some tweaking, but no major issues blocking functionality.

Ease of use and really powerful built in functionality. Tagging alone was a huge perk, but they also offer AI driven facial recognition, which makes tracking down photos of certain employees that much easier!

Seems to slow down the browser the longer you search images. So I end up having to relaunch the browser, restart the search, and start scrolling all the way from the top to access the group of images I had made it to before the relaunch. Tagging photos hasn't been very intuitive. I'll tag a group after uploading, only to have them not show up in searches.

I like that we can tag our assets for easy searching. I also love the Chrome Plugin, that let's us search, then drag/drop the asset into whatever we're working on. It's so easy! We also have a lot of outdated photos - now we can restrict them so they don't accidentally make it into a new ad or design.

I like that you are able to send out links for others to upload their photos too. With different people from our organization working other locations they were sending through emails their photos now it is straight into Canto.

It has streamlined so many of our processes and saved us so much time and frustration. We're actually able to find out assets now instead of searching around and asking co-workers before giving up and having our designers re-create something that they didn't need to.

We have been a customer of Cantos for years at $10,000/year, when we needed to cancel we were told that we had missed the 30 day advance renewal timeframe by 12 days including weekends.

Before Canto we housed all of our visual content (photos, videos, etc.) on a server that was slow to load previews and made it difficult to access. Canto has made our content browsing both faster and more enjoyable.

We haven't used Canto for a very long time yet so at the moment nothing comes to mind.
