I enjoy the continuing upgrades and benefits Houzz has and continues to roll out as to the improvement and ease of using their site. I enjoy that we can store everything on one platform and it is clean, easy to use and helpful for more than we actually need it for. So many options yet to explore!

Nachteile

I have found that using the Houzz program has been easy to navigate and use. I understand that there are always changes being made to the program, sometimes it takes a minute to "re-find" where things have been re-assigned to (location on the screen/program). But with a little looking, nothing is too hard to find.

There are so many features on this platform specifically for any of those in the building, design, and home improvement industry. Houzz has supplied a one-stop program for us to create and administrate all our projects from start to finish.

For those of us who are not proficient in computer science, it's easy to get lost.

I loved the IDEA of having a CRM tailored for my carpentry business that allowed us to streamline estimates and make them more efficient. I also liked that it captured eSignatures on proposals, and allow us to connect Quickbooks and collect deposits on the spot.

Nachteile

I found the estimating tool to be difficult to use. The product catalogue, while intriguing to know that they populate values for common construction items, it's REALLY cumbersome to sift through, and if you aren't pricing items the way they do, it becomes irrelevant and you will find yourself spending an inordinate amount of time keying in your own items, only to have to update them manually each time you create a new estimate. There was no time saving in this tool at all for me, and have found going back to a google sheet much simpler.

Houzz gave us the opportunity to be seen. Ivy is also a great tool for designer. Our manager was also excellent and gave us a lot of great advices

What I like the most about Houzz Pro is the ease of being able to see all my leads. The quality and versatility to be able to showcase all my projects. The communication I can have with potential clients. I still have so much to learn about Houzz pro , and what it could do for my small buisness.

I have tried a few features like 3-d - It's a little wonky- I give a much better result using software's like auto cad and chief architect. The 3d and plan layout would be good for decorators not designers or architects. I also tried the site survey option , where the tools measures a space for you and generates itself into a plan. this is a big miss.

I started using IVY since 2019. Love the software. It helps me to keep all of my billings in order. Project management and hourly tracking is confusing so I don't use it but want to get a tutorial of the best way to utilize this.

We wish the Houzz CRM had a "lead follow up reminder" function like Salesforce so that we could note conversations with our Houzz leads, and next steps, as well as set reminders to call leads back through out the pre-sales cycle.

The Houzz Pro Software allows me to capture every lead with all the associated communications with the client. I am able to use automated different professional estimate layouts so that the client gets a good impression that the business is sound and professional. Further the software in a sense provides branding so I stand out.

Nachteile

I am looking forward to being able to mass message my clients in order to communicate with them any promotions and provide useful information. This feature will be valuable as I can email different categories of clients at the same time which will save me hours and hours, in contrast to emailing them separately. This feature would be great if deployed.

Houzz is the closest operations tool we could find to a "One stop shop" for our construction & remodeling firm.

Nachteile

We don't like that texts only send to the primary contact number. We want to have the function of sending communications to all the listed contacts with one message. Plus, we want to be able to enter more than one contact within the lead stage, vs. having to wait until the lead is a project. Also, we do not like that client meetings cannot be scheduled once a lead is converted to a project.

Estimate cost is very accurate, templates are a huge time saver. Sharing info with customer is super easy is many different formats. Love taking payments online. Lots of visuals that help sell the project.

No exterior design. Finding some categories at first can be time consuming as it has so many specific different line items.

First, our current Client Success Manager, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], is extremely helpful and has helped us to utilize more features of Houzz Pro that we weren't taking advantage of before. He answers questions quickly and has taken the time to have several meetings to improve our experience. Also, the new lead tracking feature has really improved our experience with Houzz Pro because we can now track all our Houzz leads alongside with word of mouth and leads from other sources side-by-side, making it much easier to follow-up!

Nachteile

It took quite a bit of set-up time and a few client success managers for us to get the full picture of the software and how it can help promote our business, but once all the initial work is set up, it is easy to use. One thing I dislike is when I am creating a gallery, I have to input same project information and tags on every single picture. It would be helpful to have an autopopulate feature so if there are, for example, multiple pictures of a kitchen, the same information about finishes can be applied to all photos.

I love the project clipper as it helps me to quickly source items for my projects. I can quickly move from concept to presentation with very little time and effort. Once we have approval on items… proposals, invoices, purchase orders and QuickBooks integration are seamless. It has saved me hours and helped me keep my team small but powerful.

Nachteile

There is so much functionality that it can get a bit overwhelming when updates are rolled out. The latest one took a bit of a learning curve to implement. Sometimes when I’m working on large proposals, the software takes a long time to upload new info like pictures especially.

I like the ease at which leads are filtered and sent to us. I also like the ease of use on the website itself to change features, connect with potential clients and also for marketing.

The least thing I like about it is that you mostly get leads who aren’t ready and/or serious. You get a lot of “browsers” and making a connection to them mostly does not happen. For those who are serious, the connection happens, but that is likely 20% of our leads only.

For myself being a small business it is the exposure that Houzz and Houzz Pro affords me. I see other large firms advertising and Houzz allows me to compete on a level playing field with them. Houzz Pro allows me to manage inquires, projects follow , sending proposal and contract and set my schedules for projects. All of which I can accomplish in one place.

I can share ideas and images with my clients, as well as various aspects of the clients dashboard. I do share the schedule with my clients, so they can view it and know what milestone are up coming and how the project is progressing.

My Houzz Pro success mange and I work together as a team. I know I have support behind me and some one that I can reach out to and ask questions of. I am not out there alone trying to figure everything out by myself.

The most important feature on Houzz for me is the quality of their customer service reps. Over the years I have had several, some are more attentive than others. My current rep is [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and he is wonderful. He calls on a regular basis and always answers my questions in a timely manner. This is important because I sometimes get stuck on the technical aspects of Houzz. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] always explains what is going on and how I should use the technology to boost my business. The other terrific aspect of Houzz is that it manages my website and SEO. This has been invaluable.

The documents are very rudimentary and basic. It really needs to function more like Quickbooks with the Estimating, invoices, purchase orders and have a tracking system that is a bit better for the flow in between. Room boards are a bit restricting and not set up for a professional design firm. Design boards are not advanced at all, cannot add outside items easily. Cannot show client facing presentation, very frustrating.

What I love about the program is that it's created with designers in mind. From the leads to proposal and into project management the program helps with all phases of the project.

I enjoyed the design boards that the program used to offer because it helped me utilize the program more during the design development phase. Now I only use it to bid and into the invoicing and expediting phase.

We have been using HOUZZ for several years for lead generation. The monthly customer support has been a great way to keep us up to date and relevant to our clients. Running a small business is time-consuming, so all the help is appreciated. The leads generated from Houzz have been solid, high-quality leads. One of the main reasons we decided to try them is when we moved practically every search we did for products we needed for our new house yielded a Houzz suggestion on the first page of our search. We know they stay on top of their SEO, so we have been happy with the product.

I can't say anything negative about the software. The hardest thing to do is get people to write a review on your HOUZZ page. If you focus on reviews, it will keep you on track. Reviews can make you or break you. So be prepared to ask for reviews. The customer service people will also help you learn how to ask for reviews and even send messages to your clients to ask for reviews for you, which is another reason we like working with Houzz.
