Vorteile

Things has singlehandedly upgraded my life, as I feel 1000x more organized. I use my Today list every day as my north star for what I want to get done, and can easily drag to another time on my schedule if I'm not going to get to it. Much better than using the calendar because tasks are often not time-specific (though I do like the This Evening option).

I also LOVE the email-task integration, where I can turn an email into a task using a keyboard shortcut, and the fact that I can easily have notes and links associated with a task.

Nachteile

I suppose being able to have a collaborator on a project would be nice, although I haven't really minded this as completely individual to-do lists can help with accountability.

It also can be hard for me to pitch Things to friends and colleagues given the cost, though I find it reasonable.

Responsive and clean UI. While task managers aren't too complicated, Things has a beautiful interface and makes creating tasks a fun experience. The "magic button" which is what I call the create "+" button is a nice way to enable creation of To-dos, projects, or Areas. The default set of groupings works well, from Inbox, to Today, to Upcoming, to Anytime, then Someday. You can also create your own Areas and Projects to meet your own logical grouping. Any tasks that aren't completed get moved over to the next day. Being able to snooze a task by moving it to "tonight" is also useful. You can also configure an alarm to prompt you when you should perform a task.

Nachteile

Once I accidentally deleted an Area and spent a lot of time trying to find out how to undelete. I still haven't figured this out and had to recreate it from memory. There aren't any collaboration features to work on tasks with other users. Also the one time cost of the software is limited to specific clients (i.e. iOS vs MacOS).

I've bounced around from one productivity App to the next, but Things is the first and only one I've stuck with. I absolutely love the way it integrates my "To Do" lists on into my calendar on all my devices and allows me to segment tasks and projects based upon importance and immediacy. It's user interface is incredibly clean, simple and user-friendly, creating a space where even my scattered monkey mind can create a semblance of organization.

Nachteile

I wasn't a huge fan of having to pay additional cash money to allow the integration between both my phone and computer, but in the end, it was worth it. I'd also like it if there were more options for automated alerts that would remind me to check out my lists during the course of the day.

Things 3 is incredibly easy to use, and very capable—especially if you're not trying to manage an entire team with a single application.

Nachteile

There are two flaws—or maybe just drawbacks— that I hope the makers resolve: there is no API so Things doesn't play well with other applications, and popup reminders offer a snooze feature, but there seems to be no way to change the default time till it pops up again (seems to be 10 minutes).

This is a very easy product to install and use Just like the Google search bar, it’s best feature is it’s simplicity. It also allows you to keep historical record of previous activities which is very helpful I need to go back and look something up

Nachteile

I bought the version that you install on your computer. You can buy separate app but that’s an extra fee. I really don’t understand why they don’t give you an option to combine the two and make it just one price.

* The interactions and the animations make you want to check off your list every single time you look at it

* Very easy to organise your lists and to see your day

Nachteile

* It's expensive, especially if you use it on multiple devices
* Only for Apple devices
* Doesn't have location-based reminders on mobile (the bit that keeps me from using it with 100% of my tasks)
* No collaboration

Oh man, where do I even begin? I utilize Things for my home / personal / non-work tasks, and it's incredible. I love that I can have multiple projects and areas, so that everything can be organized and grouped how I want it to be. Also: repeating to-dos! Big fan.

Nachteile

There's nothing that I don't like, per se, but I do wish that there were more business features, so that I could use this for work. Specifically: I'd love to see shared projects, assignable tasks, and chat / comments.

In the old days of GTD (Getting Things Done), this app is a must-have for all GTD enthusiasts. It does one thing perfectly. And that is a todo list.

Nachteile

Many cross-platform, free or cheaper programs can replace it anytime now. Main reason why I moved away was because it's limited to Apple products only.

The visual design of things is clear and intuitive. It is easy to add and organize tasks including organizing tasks into projects/areas e.g. personal vice work. It works well with my calendar so that I can see my calendar events in things.

Nachteile

Primarily that I am unable to see my Things tasks in my calendar. I would very much prefer to work within my calendar including to add and remove tasks and mark tasks as complete in my calendar. Google Calendar gets close but the lack of repeat tasks and the lack of demarcation b/w tasks and reminders makes Google difficult to stay on top of.

It is a robust and beautifully designed piece of software that does just about everything I want it to do. It has the ability to make a project with key tasks and subtasks that isn't overwhelming to review.

Nachteile

I really wish they had a subscription model that would allow me to pay them a flat price per year or month to have all of the apps. Right now you would need to purchase each app individually but then you own them until they make a new revision.

I have multiple projects all with many to-dos for each. I can sort by project or date due to find what's next on my list.

Nachteile

Sometimes I cannot get the sort feature to work correctly. I'd also like more options for how I'd like to be able to sort and a way to do projects within projects.

Things is simple but powerful. This tool has been open on my Mac and iPhone every day since high school. It has come with me through four degrees and countless jobs and internships. It's a workhorse for every setting.

Nachteile

It is a bit expensive for personal use, but it's worth it for how often I use it and how much value I get. I wish it had more integrations, but I'm not too upset.

Things is beautifully designed and syncs across all of my iOS devices.
Its easy-to-use, with its powerful keyboard shortcuts.
It's got all the options I need to stay organized (Deadlines, start dates, tags, Areas of life, projects, tasks, recurring tasks...).

Nachteile

Using Things, or any GTD app really, requires constant maintenance. If I spend a couple days outside the app, I'll end up with lots of stuff on my "Today" list, which can feel overwhelming. Such is life!

- Fast and flexible. For e.g.,I could choose not to do GTD and run it like a traditional todo list
- They finally seem to be building some integrations into the application

Nachteile

- Very expensive. Needs a separate purchase for iOS
- Devs can disappear. They did after they released the previous version. Took an incredibly long time to develop Things 3. I was questioning whether I had to move to a different todo list
- Not as feature rich as one would expect given the incredulous pricing. For e.g., cannot use with teams, no note taking
- Needs a dark mode

Vorteile

I love things because it functions like a 2nd brain. I’m able to get tasks out of my head into a system I’ve come to trust. I use it on my iPhone and my Mac. It’s elegant and pretty to look at and it has the features I need to manage projects and next actions.

Nachteile

There are a few features I wish things had. I’d like more customization for my views. I’d like smart searches to be saved. Minor things.

Vorteile

Overall everything feels smooth and right how it should be! Really the best feature for me, is being able to quickly note some thought (from the quick entry shortcut, with intelligent autofill!) while doing whatever thing on my Mac.
Calendar and Reminders integration it’s also very well synchronized and displayed on the Menu.
Cloud makes it a very good feature for the companion app on iPhone, it’s a breeze!

Nachteile

I’ve run into a minor issue on Dark mode theme, which was quickly fixed by the support!

It is a great place to put down all tasks and ideas. After inputing it you can organize so everything is in the correct place.

Nachteile

The biggest down side is the lack of sharing. I cannot share a task with someone else or give task to particular people.

I love the design of this app. Definitely easy to use. I just type up a task press 'enter' and that's it.

All my tasks are listed. I can check off what tasks I've completed. It even keeps a record of all the tasks I completed and I can set up a 'reminder' notification so I know that this deadline is coming up or I have.

I can even set up keyboard shortcuts to make entry even faster.

Essentially this is like my digital diary.

Easy to use and it sits on my desktop so it's right at mu finger tips.

Nachteile

Needs an Android mobile app. Would love to be able to have all of my tasks synced across desktop and mobile.

Vorteile

Its simplicity and at the same time complexity. Things allows you to get wherever you want, from simple task management to a complex array of projects. I have tried tons of task management apps and this is by far my favorite. The UI is so clean an simple, I have used it for work and personal task as well as planning for vacations.

Nachteile

I think the prices is pretty steep, and if you are just looking for a simple task management software it may be overkill.

Things is the exact app I am looking for when it comes to getting things done and completing projects. It's minimal and I don't like to spend a ton of extra time that I don't have just to work around software. I also love that you can obtain this app and sync to all of your devices.

Nachteile

The features are great, but I feel like it's difficult to justify spending the amount of money on the app. $20 for the iPhone app and then another $50 for Mac and $20 for iPad? I understand that each requires it's own time of development, but the pricing is steep. I would love to be able to get Things for my Mac and iPad but I can't justify spending that kind of money on an app.

I got hooked to David Allen's GTD method and that is when I came across Things. At first I was reluctant as it was a paid product but then the benefits out weighed the cost so I have the paid versions on the Mac as well as iPhone. The UI is excellent.

Nachteile

The cost of course is a deterrent but then the benefits out weighed the cost. You need to set up your own GTD rules.

There isnt much that is wrong about this software. If im being picky, the only thing I don't​ like is how the apple reminders aren't​ automatically imported into Things. They show up, but then you have to maunally click "import" to get them into your inbox.

It's not real intuitive and takes some time to learn if you don't have someone to show you how it works. Once you understand HOW it works, it's great. I'm just kind of slow on new software and the learning curve was steeper for me. I love it now!

But when I got an Android phone, it was super frustrating, that there's no app for Android users. On the go, it should be possible to also add, and check tasks on Android.

I'm a big fan of Things 3, but there's one caveat: The price. It's above average, particularly if you want access to the application from multiple devices. The Mac version is $50, the iPhone and Apple Watch apps are $10, and the iPad version is $20—all of which adds up quickly. Even so, I think the cost is worth it for the features and value it provides.

Notifications on macOS are terrible. The developer has chosen to shortcut and just utilize the stock notifications built into the OS. This is not acceptable for a v3, premium priced software.

Many task/project management tools claim to work with the "Getting Things Done" methodology, but Things really stands out as one of the best implementations of GTD concepts that I have seen. It may not be as full-featured as OmniFocus, it is also way less complicated and much easier to use. The interface is clean and elegant and pretty flexible. For me, the syncing has always been rock-solid between Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

Nachteile

The only big con is the price. Because I want to have it on all my devices (Mac, iPhone, and iPad), it costs quite a bit.

Things has the ability to schedule individual task items as well as group them by projects. You can set a due date or put it away in the "someday" file as a reminder to come back to it. I love how Things helps me to keep my life organized and have access to that on my computer or while I'm on-the-go.

Things is the only to-do app I'll ever need. The implementation of the GTD method is stunning, the app itself is beautiful, fast & efficient. Entering tasks is frictionless and managing my day-to-day productivity with this tool is delightful.
The iOS sync is a lifesaver & the app (macOS & iOS) is getting more and more refined with every release.

Nachteile

The price for that macOS version might seem a little steep, but for an app that I'll use everyday to get my tasks in order it's completely worth it.

The look and feel of the app is great, on all platforms. I use Mac OS, IOS and IpadOS. It syncs easily between all devices, and I love how I can have todo lists for different projects and and different parts of my life, all on in one place.

It is pretty expensive to buy the software for each device I use, Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It's an expensive buy for each device. Expected at least iPad and iPhone to be once price for both platforms.

There are few apps which you just use without thinking because every interaction with it is perfect. Things has an amazing user interface and user experience. Everything well thought through and clutter free. In the latest version you can choose between appearance, white, gray and black.

The only cons I can think of is the cost but you can look at it as an investment rather than an expense.

The attention to detail in the design is amazing. Everything is pixel perfect and thought through. This makes it a pleasure to use for my tasks, so I actually do use it! Task creation is easy with the system wide hot key, meaning I can jot things down quickly and file them later.

Nachteile

The cost is on the high side, especially with the iPad app too. But it works, so for me it's worth it. No windows version, which would be the killer move!

Thing's interface is so aesthetically pleasant that you just desire to use this app. Navigating throughout the app is simple and intuitive. The wide range of features is there but they don't distract you in any way.

There are two missing features: collaboration and saved searches. If they were present I would just buy it for the whole company.

Intuitive, yet broad functionality. My favorite feature is turning emails into "to do" items on Things and linking to emails from the app, so that you can find the relevant email instantaneously. The drag and drop, and other usability functions are also smooth and make the experience useful and easy.

It's hard to think of any cons. I love Things. Perhaps someone could be overwhelmed by the variety of features available, but Things provides tutorials and the app can really be as simple as you want it to be.

I love the beauty and minimalism of this application. I use this app to make to do lists, wishlists, and plan projects...basically, I use it to declutter my mind. I love how Things generates neat elegant lists so all that's left for me to do is to get to work.
