I liked the extensive features you can use and the simplicity of the UI. I created two interactive games and imported my assets without any inconveniences. I exported in HTML5 the final product and it worked fine with any browsers.

Nachteile

I don't know any cons because during the use if I had a problem in a matter of time the support helped me.

The application has an intuitive slide-based workflow, a robust set of eLearning development tools, multi-modal publishing (demo, tutorial, practice, and test modes) and one-click publishing to HTML5 and/or SCORM formats for ready deployment via LMS (we use it with MOODLE). The few times I have needed support, the team was very responsive and extremely helpful and even on a few occasions created scripts to make the software do what we needed it to do (which were somewhat non-standard use-cases). I have used many eLearning development and deployment platforms (including the 2 heaviest hitters in the industry), but ActivePresenter is hands-down
the best value for the money and is most accessible for new team members to ramp up in learning development.

Nachteile

No cons after 5+ years of use creating and publishing dozens of interactive learning resources.

It is just awesome to have this on your system because this is one of the easiest and most intuitive video editing app there. Quick with there updates and narration feature is good too. It is easy on pocket so overall a great win win for you.

Es una aplicación poderosa, pero no es complicada porque te permite usar únicamente lo que necesitas en cada momento, olvidándote de todo lo demás.

ActivePresenter is one of the best softwares available to screen-record. I tried a few other softwares, but the results I obtained using ActivePresenter was amazing. First of all, the software is really intuitive, and can record in high quality, without any problem. But the amazing thing is I can run it on all my devices, which had some troubles in the past running similar softwares. Simply amazing!

El problema viene cuando renderizas el vídeo, lo exportas... O cuando lo capturas grabando la pantalla. Cuando lo grabo en la pantalla de compañeros de trabajo porque el vídeo lo hacen ellos, a veces si el ordenador no es suficientemente potente, graba como con pocos frames, y al exportarlo lo mismo, por no hablar de lo que puede tardar en renderizarse algo teniendo poco RAM...

Active Presenter es un programa completísimo para grabar tu pantalla y enseñar mediante tutoriales a otras personas, ofrece interactividad en los vídeos mediante botones, por ejemplo. No tarda mucho en renderizar, por lo que pueden usarlo ordenadores sin demasiado RAM, en mi caso tengo 32 GB y apenas tarda con vídeos de 5-10 minutos.

La curva de aprendizaje es un poco complicada, especialmente cuando vas a interactivizar los vídeos, hay que exportarlos bien o al final acabas teniendo un vídeo con un botón inutilizable, pero puedes leer en internet guías para ello.

I use ActivePresenter in two contexts. As a video producer for a major educational company, I produce small how-to videos that need frequent updating. As a mystery writer, I produce "teaser" videos for my books: fewer maintenance cycles but I need more dazzling effects.
I've used other video editing suites and course creation tools, including Captivate, Camtasia, and (currently) Premiere Pro. For ease of use and breadth of features, my favorite is ActivePresenter.
It is enormously flexible. It can import PowerPoint slides, images, GIFs, and other videos. As you edit, you can separate your video into chunks ("slides") to focus on one piece of animation or editing at a time.
It captures video off the screen or from an application *and separates the video track from the audio track*--a huge win in maintenance.
You can record multiple audio and video tracks at once.
You can record a video without the mouse and layer the mouse in later, another big maintenance win.
Once you’ve captured a video, you can export it as a MP4, then add it to another video, then edit it again, then export that video and import it to another video…all without loss of audio or video quality.
Editing is nondestructive.
AP has a nice library of special effects, including transitions from scene to scene, fades in and out of individual items in the timeline, animation (even without Saola Animate), and opacity. With the course creation module, of course, you’d get many more.

Nachteile

It’s a high-end video edit and there’s a learning curve if you haven’t used a similar product before. If you have, some things work differently but there are no real surprises.
Source files for a complex video can be LARGE, up to several hundred MB. Plan your storage accordingly. (Output files are fine.)
Neither of these are big issues.

I love how easy and intuitive Active Presenter is. I have used Captivate and other products and they aren't as easy. Plus Active Presenter is a fraction of their costs and has all the tools I need to create video simulations, interactive videos and just plain tutorials. I also like the ability to effortlessly import slides from PowerPoint. Great product and fabulous customer service!

I would like more Animations to choose from to add even more pizzazz, but it has the standard animations that PowerPoint has.

As a Physics Teacher, after many years, I finally found the ultimate solution to cope with the modern students needs. ActivePresenter makes teaching active, dynamic, `flashing and student-related.
All my lessons are `packed in ActivePresenter. I also incorporate the necessary text-to-speech fragments; this makes me feel completely relieved and at ease, because prepared to `cope with the group of `youngsters in the classroom.
These moments in front of the classroom are accompanied with e-learning activities. ActivePresenter presentations have full interactive options; students are really enthusiastic to work independently on tasks, modules, interactive quizzes and hard-core-physics-exercises.
Here are a few of the many things I like about the software:
Easy `basic-down-to-earth PowerPoint-like presentations with automated output; (even here, the possibilities are 100-fold compared to other tools!).
Built-in audio/video editing capabilities.
Interactive elements are available to guide the audience by an adapted path, fitting the situation or the need of the audience.
Various types of questions/quizzes.
All the results of the students can easily be stored in an LMS (with SCORM or xAPI support). You can also make an automated link to Google Spreadsheets to follow up the results!

A little bit of learning curve before you can explore all the possibilities of the software. (but after all, there is a very elaborated manual and a supporting help-desk!)

I played with a lot of tools in this category - many are free/feature limited with Pro versions ranging from single high cost to subscriptions. Active Presenter was the best combination of features (basic timeline editing, ability to pan and zoom the screen video, various options for exporting, no recurring costs for needed features) I found.

In fairness, there is no such think as "simple" video editing. If you don't know what you're doing or don't do it frequently enough to recall all the feature locations, you'll struggle. Active Presenter is not designed for first time/one time use. It's a fairly serious program with a lot of features and options.

I appreciate that it gives me the tools and controls to do the things I need without limitations, even at the cost of a learning curve.

Nachteile

It feels like it's designed for more slideshow based output than full video. It's capable of both, but many of the obvious options and toolbar buttons are geared towards something other than integrated video and on-screen action.

One of the biggest advantages of ActivePresenter is that you can record only the selected area of your screen, or to record just one specific window on your machine.It has most of the editing tools, so you can post process your recorded videos, enhance their audio, or even add various effects.

There is only one thing which is not convenient in this software is that once you pressed record, you can't change any recording settings. This is quite annoying when you want to remove your earphones during the recording. The moment you unplug, the software won't record your mic and the sound from laptop speakers. It would be great if I could change those parameters during the recording process.

I love the fact that support is active and ready when there's a problem! I got a new camera that wasn't supported by the software (Elgato Facecam) and tech support fixed the software and sent me an update almost immediately!

This was very useful to me while preparing training videos of the tool which we use for publishing the events as well as training videos for suppliers who needs to submit their responses. Creating videos, Editing Videos as well as adding subtitles is very easy. We can also export the video in many suitable formats along with the subtitles. They have manuals ready for our guidance in case we need any help or we are confused about editing something while creating the video.

It takes more time while exporting into MP4 format after completing the video in the software but we can do other work while it is exporting.

The ease of use and the interface with PowerPoint. Compared to other video software out there that is complicated and difficult to use, I managed to figure this one out quite quickly, thanks to the PowerPoint interface.

Being able to add in text boxes in the same way as PowerPoint is a huge time saver, and the ease of timing how long a slide, text, etc is displayed is effortless.

A huge plus that has to be mentioned is that the free version does 95% of what the paid version does, and there are no watermarks on your final product. To really make polished videos of an extremely high calibre - for example if you want your music to fade in and out - you would need the paid version.

The user manual also helped immensely.

I didn't like the fact that it kept crashing when i directly try to export my videos, or even the fact that it takes too long to begin recording or doesn't even record at all some times. Maybe it is my PC, but ActivePresenter is the usual application that behaves this way, I lost a few of my recordings to this crashing.

Active Presenter has a bunch of options. You can just record the screen with voice over / without it. You can also turn on the video. I am using it for creating user guides and video. You can easily trim the video and export in high quality. It also provides an option to show screen stimulation.

It does take a bit of time when we export the video and at time, it has crashed maybe because the video was too large. Anyway, I love the software, I found this after going through paid software as well. If we can provide a cursor highlight, it would be great.

ActivePresenter is one of the best alternatives for tools which are paid and pretty much do the same things active presenter does. When we were evaluation the tool the use, we wanted to check the quality of video and audio recordings, which was up to the mark.

I have been using ActivePresenter while my online classes to create and submit my assignment videos. It is such an amazing and user friendly software allowing the user to select as many options as they want. Plus the video quality is highly appreciable. It has a lot of editing features and I feel really safe while using it. The sound quality is also very nice. Moreover the size of the file is also fine even if the video is long. Its very easy to use and explore.

The thing I disliked is as soon as I start recording the screen the cursor sometimes gets disappeared which creates a problem for me and then I need to record it again.
