there is no code editor simpler than Sublime Text, its so easy to use and it got lots and lots of extensions to improve your coding experience. Adding themes is one of the best things as it allows me to customize how my code is visualized. I haven't found a programming language that Sublime Text doesn't recognize. I can describe Sublime Text as simple, lite, with extreme power.

Nachteile

I had not faced any issues regarding Sublime Text, everything had been working perfectly.

Vorteile

1. Easy to install and best text editor for mac machine.
2. I like its find and replace options which supports all regex expression which reduce lot of my work.
3. It supports multiple programming language which can help you to code faster in this editor.
4. It is more like a IDE and can add more features using extensions.
5. It automatically saves file.

Nachteile

1. Sometimes it got hanged even for small opertations when you dealing with large data file.
2. It is not exactly a IDE because it will not give any suggestions or errors while writing code.
3. UI is very old and not user friendly.

Vorteile

– Worth every penny

Nachteile

– Some plugins are not that stable and may cause glitches or extensive memory use. But it's not the problem of Sublime itself, rather the particular plugin's.

I love it when use it for the first time. One of the best Text Editor for Developer. One of the best text editor with tons of features. Lots of color scheme options and love the directory tree feature.

First of all it is not free. You have to paid to use it. In past it is updated frequently but now I think they are on to other things as updates are very less to fix issues. It's loading time is higher compared with other open source text editor of same category.

Vorteile

The application is super easy to use, fast, minimal, looks great (love the minimal UI, dark background, color coding, etc.), and supports any of the languages I use on a daily basis: HTML, CSS, JS, XML.

Nachteile

It would be awesome if it had an auto-detect for the language. As it is, you only have to select from a list in the bottom pane, but a guess at the language would be awesome, in my opinion.

You don't have to wonder how to use Sublime Text - it's an easy-to-use tool that works great. It is fast and efficient, and easy to use. In addition, it has a lot of additional functions / extensions that allow even more streamlining of working with the code. I sincerely recommend!

Cons? Price. With all my sympathy for Sublime Text, I think it is a bit too high (especially compared to what the competition offers for free). However, I am still using Sublime Text (a long-term habit?).

The software is highly customizable. It does not come bloated with plugins and features you will probably never use. Instead, there is a huge amount of plugins available that you can use as add ons. You can also customize the theme. It opens very very quickly in comparison to an IDE.

Nachteile

Some customizations are hard to find and you have to research online how to do it. I don't like the fact that opening a file does not always open in its own tab, but replaces another. It can become very annoying whwn working in large projects where tou need to maintain many files open. Again, I know rhis can be customized but it qould work better if it was the norm. The same thing with how copy and paste behaves by default.

That it will open and manipulate large text files better than most. The code formatting, color coding and code creation tools are very nice! The ability to access code and other random text files for manipulation make this a great lightweight code editor.

Nachteile

On the Mac, the "recent files" doesn't really work for me. It has a random list of files I had edited, but often the most recently edited files are not in the list.

I always use Sublime if I need to open a huge text file - nothing comes close when it comes to opening a multi thousand line file to do a find and replace for example.Its fast and feature rich.

Nachteile

It could be considered a smidge expensive - I had my employer buy my license which made it a fairly easy sell - however I do think it could be 10-15% cheaper.

Sublime Text is the text editor that I used for school because it was nice and simple to use. The GUI was simple to understand and it was simple enough for everyone to use. It allowed me to write code in different languages because it was able to detect what language I was coding in due to the file type. Sublime is free of charge which is also pretty nice.

Nachteile

There are software like Notepad++ and other text editing software that have more features and ease of accessibility than Sublime Text. Other text editing software does the job better allowing better editing of text.

sublime text is a great tool, I use it daily for web development, programming in any language. It is simple, intuitive, beautiful, has a variety of plugins that make life even easier when programming and thus have a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

It is the best text editor in the market and ease to use. It also helps us to manipulate the date according to our use. It also supports multiple programming languages by which we can easily import any project and do some development as well. It also support multiple plugins. We can also use the alignment feature to align our document.

In favor, I can say that it is simple, easy to use, and easy to start using, you will not need a tutorial to configure it and another to take advantage of its great capabilities. Just sit back install it and enjoy it.

They really ask me to write a con, I could say its simplicity, but this is its strength. It all depends on how you look at it and what you need and how confident you are when programming.

Sublime is simply my first port of call for starting up any coding project. It has all the features that you need and if any are missing, there are a multitude of packages available.

the only bug I think I can mention here is sometimes while coding the window can get cluttered, however I think thats just how I work, not the software.

- Plugin support is godly. Auto Pep-8 formatting/fixes
- Syntax support for every language you need (and a bunch more you didn't know existed)
- Really good at opening large files compared to other editors

- Nag screen unless you pay, which is not the case with the newly open-sourced VS Code
- Debugging/other IDE tools not preloaded out of the box (the fast speed comes with a price)

Sublime is so clean it, it is my go to text editor. Very helpful and color coordinated for your specific file type. I write code in sublime mostly with Java, JavaScript, and the occasional HTML. The extra plugins that you can install are super helpful as well. You can also change the theme to dark mode which is my favorite! It loads up where you left off as well it is amazing.

Nachteile

I really have no complaints about this software. Only downside is some of the plugins are user created and takes a little time to learn how to use them.

The interface, workflow and plugin options in sublime make it my favorite lightweight editor. There are many customization options along with options that are less common in other editors like multiple cursors and code minimap.

If you need or want more IDE type features Sublime Text might not be for you. I do still use Rubymine for Ruby on Rails projects and prefer it over sublime for that specific use.

I would like to say that sublime text is good but it can be better because I have used sublime text for more than 6 months and it has a good user interface and it's aesthetic.

The major drawback of using sublime text is it's much slower compared to other code editors because it is not lightweight, although it is free to use an annoying popup sometimes appear to tell me to buy a membership so it's frustrating.

Sublime Text is stable and reliable with a great range of features. It doesn't get in your way but has enough of the important IDE features to get the job done. It has a great range of syntax highlighting options and seems to be reasonably configurable.

Nachteile

It definitely feels a little less premium than some other IDEs out there but I've been using it for years and rarely need another IDE. It also didn't receive any update for around a year but I didn't find many issue with it during that time.

Supports various programming languages, highlights the code in a suiting way. Good menu organisation. Love the various themes, especially dark themes. Easy to use for different purposes. Fast and responsive (I never close it on my mac).

Nachteile

Lack of functionality of a full IDE (even with the use of plugins). I don't use it for programming that much, so it's not that big of a deal for me. If you want to get all features, it has somewhat of a steep learning curve.

Sublime text is no doubt one of the best (if not the best) coding/programming software out there. It's simplicity, professionalism and powerfulness is undeniable. It can works perfectly well in different system(pc or laptop) not minding the capacity of you device.

Nachteile

No much cons to point out, but if the engineers would be able to add or integrate more shortcut keys to the software, it will go a long way to fasten the work of the developer thereby increasing its usage.

Compared to other popular IDEs, Sublime is quite lightweight, stable and fast. The applications is very easy to install and setup. Perfect upgrade from Notepad++ if you are still using that for HTML and CSS.

Perfect for HTML, CSS and JavaScript, not great for managing PHP projects and version control or if hoping to use built-in deployment tools.

This software produces good scientific documents, formatting which is corrected directly by the software with paquages. I have too much use of the software

There are definitely features of an IDE that I would love to be more engrained or included into Sublime. I usually look up things like "useful sublime plugins" but would love for there to be certain packages in the ecosystem like "javascript development" package picked by the community or something so there would be a more official place for people to share their preferred way of developing in sublime.

Sublime Text is fantastic to use for one big main reason: when writing pseudo code, you can choose what code template and syntax to use. I often write code in either C#, Javascript or Objective-C and Sublime Text lets you choose what language you intend to write in, which fixes the syntax and color codes your work according to the chosen programming language. Using this, you could effectively use Sublime Text as a lightweight but functional IDE. In addition to this, it packs in standard Notepad features like Find, Find and Replace and more. It also saves the documents you had open, so that you can pick up right where you left off. And it's completely free.

Nachteile

The only thing I do not like about this program is that after using it for free for a while, it does prompt you to upgrade upon startup. But this is entirely optional, and you can close the prompt for upgrading without affecting any features, so it's a very minor complaint.

I work as a Technical Operations Specialist. It's my job to make sure our media-tech company is running smoothly from a technical perspective. I have used Sublime Text for everything from writing and creating scripts and tools to deploy at our workplace to writing and editing full websites. I am not a software engineer and text editors that deploy tons of highly specialized features tend to scare me away. Sublime is great in that it keeps all of that stuff under the hood so it's there if you need it but its not right in your face when you launch the app. I appreciate Sublime Text supports many languages. It also has a generous licensing policy, you can try it for free indefinitely (nag ware) which is great if you need it in a pinch on an unfamiliar machine. That said, if you like the software, I highly encourage you to buy the non-nag ware version, it speeds up your development quite a bit.

As a Swiss Army knife utility code editing application it's great! If you are looking for something highly specialized like you plan to write ruby or python all day, every day. I would suggest a specialized editor...but even still keep this in your back pocked when you invariably need to write that lone BASH script.

Sublime Text is well known as a sophisticated text editor which can be used to program almost anything from Web apps to Robotics.

The UI is based on Material design which you can customize using employing and some packages. It has an awesome syntax highlighting engine based on the language being used and also lets you set a ruler at different distances which can be super useful. The design is simple and intuitive which makes it easy for beginners and also has well organized folder tab which comes in very handy when working with large projects. Split screen is another big and useful feature and also allows you to take tabs to a different parts of your screen.

The mini map feature is a must use because this allows you to scroll to any part of the document easily and smoothly which makes a huge difference when you are working on super large projects.

Sublime Text is unmatched when it comes to speed and is extremely light weight when compared to may of the popular code/text editors on the market. It supports a large plugin repo which adds many incredible features like annotation key shortcuts, autocomplete etc and at the same time you can use plugins to add more complexity to the program. It is also multi-platform so you can use it on your favorite operating system, making coding more personalized and productive.

Finding and installing 3rd part plugins can be challenging and requires extensive research at time to find if this is the plugin for you need.

Absolutely everything. It has features that make editing code much simpler. From the find and replace, to any type of plugins (there are thousands of them). It supports any programming language and saves everything you write in it at all times. The free version includes almost 100% of the features and plugins available and is completely stable.

Nachteile

Really nothing of the tool itself. Be careful because sometimes the plugins do not behave as we expect, but it is a problem of the plugin and not of the tool.

There are a lot of development tools out there, and many good ones. But for whatever reason. Sublime Text feels more solid than anything else I have tried. It's well-coded, stable, and the features are very powerful. There are extensions for everything, and the time-saving features and macro-abilities in Sublime Text make it a top-tier coding environment.

Development is very very slow. While Sublime Text is super powerful already, and very efficient, they don't update it with any significant features that often. This isn't a deal breaker because it's already a wonderful tool. But I would like to see them introduce some more workflow features and waiting for those features requires some patience.

It should provide feature like compare and diffing through its built in plugins which will further help in enhancing the editing experience a lot.

I use it every single day for multiple use cases and it is highly functional because you can open virtually any file formats and install plugins for added functionality. Recently used an MD5 plugin that can calculate hash values for my files prior to zipping so that has been very helpful and not too complicated to install. Also using the software to take notes as well as open CSV, XML, JSON, TXT, SQL, PRN, etc.

Nachteile

Takes a bit of configuration initially to put all the settings you want. After that though there is virtually nothing to set up.

Super easy to use, and I do appreciate that it instantly autosaves. I've been known to accidentally close Sublime without saving my work once in awhile. Took me a while to notice the tabs up top before I realized. It's nice to be able to tab across to easily find previous projects. Love it. If you need to modify code at all, this is a must have.

This is pretty minor, but it would be nice to be able to rename the tabs at the top without having to go through the file-save process....as in double click the tab name, type in a name, and voila! Not today, anyways. No big deal.

There is a pop up from time to time which prompts you to buy the full software (if you haven't bought it) which can be a bit annoying, but I think that's the minimum for using all the features for free.

Sublime is so easy to use and is beautiful to look at. It is fast and responsive and has some great features beyond just editing text and code files. I have used Sublime for everything from editing multiple files in an application to fine-tuning or added embedded animation into SVG's generated out of Sketch or Illustrator. Sublime is my go to editor for speed and simplicity.

I found it difficult to install or manage colour coding for the kinds of conventions that my development team uses: styled components, react. I didn't really find it intuitive to set those things up. There are also a few plugins for code styling and error prevention that I see my team using in VSCODE that I am not sure of the equivalent in Sublime.

There are some more advance code validations tools that are not available however overall it is great. we are constantly getting new features so maybe it is just a matter of time.

Subblime text is an amazing text editor. It has a slick interface and, most importantly, commands that let you mass edit and replace your text as well as support for regular expressions. Also, it adapts the colouring of the text to the programming language you are working with which I find very helpful.

Nachteile

Not all commands are very straightforward and a bit of googling and searching was necessary to understand fully how to work with sublime text. I feel that a better help section would improve the overall user experience.

I like that it is a simple text editor that loads up fast and also has coding capabilities. you are not going to be building and deploy much from sublime but it color codes you code and has a reasonable intelisense. Overall super easy to use and free.

Nachteile

Not much to complain about, it is a free product with tons of extensions. But if there was one thing I would dock it on is that when you have a lot of tabs open (which I do when coding sometimes.) the tab navigation is not the best, the tab start to burry each other and make it hard to click on covered tabs.
