There are a lot of days where I just work on a single project the whole day, but with breaks in between. I know it would be possible to use the timer feature instead of the manual tracking, but as not all of my work is on the computer this is not possible for me. So it would be nice, to kinda have a feature to add breaks more easily without having to duplicate the entries.

The only issue I've experienced: When I export a detailed report as an XLSX spreadsheet, Excel is not able to interpret the Duration (h) column when I attempt to create pivot tables. This issue does not occur when the file is exported as a CSV.

Steps I follow:
1. Export the detailed report as a spreadsheet
2. Select all data in the sheet and click Insert > PivotTable
3. Drag Category to Rows, then drag Project to Rows
4. Drag Duration (h) to Values
5. Change the Value Field Settings for Duration (h) to summarize the field value by Sum (instead of Count), then change the Number Format to [h]:mm

This works as expected for CSVs, but not for XLSXs. Duration appears as 0:00 for all rows in the XLSX.

You can create different clients and projects to keep an accurate tracking of hours spent on each and assign different hour rates. I find the color coded reports very useful. I can see clearly which tasks are taking most of my time and optimize or at least plan projects better with a realistic forecast of how long it takes to plan, implement, and QA. It's also a fantastic tool to keep me productive during the day. Whenever I start Clockify I must focus and avoid distracting myself with my phone or my cats (I work from home).

You cannot assign an Hourly rate at client level. You need to do it at project level and for me that doesn't make much sense. It would be nice to have both options: client level and edit a project if necessary.

It's very flexible and customizable, and the developers clearly make quality-of-life and comfort features a priority (e.g., SSO, dark mode, restart, etc.), which I appreciate as a daily user.

The WORST is that when editing start and stop times manually, the minutes are often changed to one after or one before the number that I wrote. I'm guessing that's due to rounding of seconds, but this is invisible to me on the user side, and very annoying, meaning I have to submit a time one minute after the one I want (for example). The favorites list is not as developed as it could be (the starred units are too high level, I want to star more granular parts). It's also hard as a user to check sums of time logged that aren't pre-configured (with limited, non-owner controls). The UI buttons often lag between clicking and the action working, without any loading indicator.

I would say that for myself, largely as a solopreneur, I'm underutilizing Clockify and the many powerful features it has. Of course those features are beneficial, but for someone just diving in, it can feel a little bit overwhelming to try and sift through all of the functionality.

They've done a good job of the various tiers, and the pricing is quite fair, but for small time users it might feel a little bit overpowered.

Also, after I generated an invoice in USD, a client requested I re-submit the invoice in CAD for ease of cross-border banking, and I wasn't able to just change the currency, I had to go through and manually edit each dollar amount on the line items to reflect the changed currency. That was kind of inconvenient.

Finally, the option to export raw data is indispensable; and I also like the option to display external calendars in addition to showing Clockify data. It's critical that all core functions are available for free - I hope the new company [sensitive content hidden] will keep it this way. At the same time, a smart approach was used to select premium functionality, such as the access to older data and richer reports.

Sometimes the browser plug-in will take some time to load and glitch, but this is minor IMO. I disliked the need to go to menu options to switch workspaces, but I am happy that this was recently fixed, particularly in the mobile app. The tool provides so many useful and clearly widely user-tested features for free that I really have no complaints.

E.g. use hjkl to navigate the calendar view, use cmd+d to duplicate the task, use hjkl to move the duplicate, then use cmd+hjkl to move this duplicate to the place i want.

Also while in the entry, it would be great to have things out of your way while you use keyboard. Example: when you switch to the project field, you can type in the project, as I type I want the project to be selected, so that i don't need to press down (two times - one to pass the collapse button, another one to select project), I want to be able just press return and the project would be selected.

The kiosk requires login in each day for each user. I cannot have each worker have a kiosk copy so they can clock in as the move from job to job without my logging in or giving them my account password or upgrading subscription(recent change). Where the security in that? The kiosk also displays in a very tiny font for no reason making it unreadable without a magnifying glass. Workers find it easier to just send me their times, which defeats the reason for having the app.

Vorteile

I love how easy it is to use, and how simple it is to set up. It's missing none of the features needed to properly time-track, without having to spend half of your time doing the actual tracking. I also love the asynchronous capabilities of it. I can always add stuff later, or adjust some timings if I didn't have time to do so on the spot.

Nachteile

After 4 years of using Clockify I have only found one minor bug, concerning when I forget to stop my timer for multiple days, and I need to set the end time as 2+ days ago. It works great for one day ago, but more than that breaks it a bit. It wasn't hard to find a workaround to it, but it still would be good if it was fixed.

Clockify is great I especially love its user-friendly interface that makes time tracking easy and enjoyable. Also, the detailed reporting feature is really helpful for analyzing productivity. the ability to collaborate with a team, which makes project management much smoother.

Nachteile

Personally, one of the aspects that some people find frustrating is the limitation of some features in the free version. Sometimes, this can make it difficult to access advanced tools without upgrading to a paid plan.

But in general, everything functions well, and this is a minor suggestion rather than a significant drawback.

What I liked least about Clockify is that when integrating with QuickBooks, it only works with employees set up in QuickBooks, not contractors. This was a big limitation for me since I primarily work with contractors. Another issue is that you can only send hours by project, which might work well if you invoice by project. However, I invoice by resource, listing the hours and costs for each person across all projects, which Clockify doesn't support. Could be a great opportunity to add this feature for those who manage invoicing differently.

QuickBooks Time

Cost was a big factor but also functionality. Clockify allows for tracking esially at a project level which is key for my organization.

Vorteile

It is really quick and easy to use. Data entry is simple. Its layout is very well designed which makes navigation quick. It looks neat and uncluttered. It is extremely well priced. The reports are professional and look great, and offer lots of ways of reporting summaries and detail. I can get summary information for the week/month/year in a few seconds.

Nachteile

Nothing. It just does what it says. It is a pleasure to use.
