Helps to keep our manufacturing efficient

We are a small metal job shop and we purchased our first E2 seat about 5 years ago, since then we have expanded to three seats. As with any new program there is a learning curve and there were features we didn't use right away, but now that we have been using E2 for a few years I have begun using some of those features to help with searching and sorting.

We manufacture everything from metal storage boxes to wiring harnesses and E2 has been able to handle it all. The hardest thing is figuring out how you want to set things up. Running reports that tell me how much we have in open orders, job schedules for the back shop, PO requirements have all been very useful. Yes, you do need to have and understand Crystal reports if you want to manipulate the way the reports and other various things print out, however we did not start using that feature until just last year. The technical staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I don't think I have ever had to make a second call to get an answer and I can understand them since they are all located in the USA. Even my new office assistant who had used another program at her old job commented on how easy E2 was to understand and use.

I even recommended it to family and my cousin's shop has also been happy with it. E2 is what you make it, you can use as little or as much of it as you want - the choice is yours.

We are McCorkle Machine and Engineering in Huntington, WV. We are about a 40-man "Job Shop" with a variety of customers. We cater primarily to heavy industry such as rolling mills and steel refineries. Before we bought the E2 Shop System we had an old dos based system that was unsupported and had some modules in a non-working state. The situation looked to be worsening. We bought E2 Shop System in 2008 after an upgrade to our computer system and network.

We sent two employees to the "Basic Training" at the Shop Tech facility in Cincinnati Ohio. The start-up was without pain. The Shop Tech people were all very helpful, in particular our "Inside Consultant". Our Inside Consultant was and is our primary contact for any problems. We are currently using E2 version 7.2.8 with real time floor reporting and the quality module. After the initial start-up our employees learned the E2 system quickly. The E2 system has been of great benefit in getting a handle on our per job cost, our delivery integrity, and our quality. It has streamlined our accounts receivable and accounts payable operations. I am particularly impressed with the way that E2 Shop System ties all aspects of our business together. I can find all information about any order very easily. All and all we continue to be very happy with our E2 Shop System.

Good software

Interstate Specialty Products is a manufacturer of custom gaskets and provider of die-cutting services throughout the world. We were using a custom built database along with a standard accounting program to run our shop. We were looking for an all-in-one solution and met the Shoptech reps at an industry show. It appeared to us that this software could do everything we needed and wanted. We purchased the software and took a complete year to implement. Because we had put so much time and thought into the implementation it went extremely well. We currently use the Sequel version.

Customer support is excellent; anytime we have an issue or a question we get an immediate response and are walked through the solution quickly and easily. ISP uses E2 Shop System as a selling point to our customers; we let them know that with this software, we always know exactly where their order is in our system. We purchased and use all of the modules. We are ISO certified and the Quality module is very important to us. This software has helped us be more efficient in every way and allows us to know exactly how our shop us running everyday. I honestly do not believe we could have made a better investment and tell anyone out there looking for a complete solution to run ANY business to look no further, Shoptech is the answer.

JobBOSS software is extremely easy to navigate and learn for all employees. Their customer service may be contacted via phone or their customer portal, and the response time and quality of help are second to none.

I do recommend this system to other users. It is a good system, but it requires adaptation and work arounds for each company's unique processes.

Very disappointed with Shop Tech E2

I paid for this software. E2 knew my business and still sold it to us. It is not designed for job shop metal finishing. It would be great for
a manufacturing company that was making parts.
We have stopped using it and purchased another program specifically designed for our type of work.

Great product. You know the saying 'If you cant measure it, you can't manage it'. E2 solves that problem.

AllFab has been an E2 Shop System user for about 14 years. Prior to that we used spreadsheets and notepads to run our business. We have been extremely happy with that purchase decision. It is one of the best we ever made. Several other companies have "pitched" us on switching but none have demonstrated the ease of use and functionality of the Shop Tech system. The biggest compliment I can pay E2 Shop System relates to their tech support. While our software/hardware issues have been few and far between, over the years we have had several occasions to call. Unlike many software companies, I find E2 RARELY keeps you holding in a que to speak to someone. They are knowledgeable and quick to resolve your issue. I would give them "six stars" on customer support if I could.

E2 Shop System has helped us grow from a 4-person company to our current 45 employees in a 50,000 square foot facility. Whether its time clock/labor reporting, estimating, purchasing, production scheduling, inventory, job costing, payables, receivables, or general ledger, their system simply works well. The reports and data generated from their software gives every manager the real time information needed to succeed. Their team and product has really helped make AllFab a success.

We are a manufacturer and refurbisher of cutting tools for the Aerospace Industry. We are considered a job shop with 20 employees. We've been in business for 40 years. When I started working here in 1997, we were using one PC with a Windows 3.1 program to track our information, and decided we needed to pursue another avenue if we were to grow our business. After going thru 5 different software companies, we decided on Shoptech. That was in 1998. One of the main reasons we went with Shoptech is the ease of use entering and getting information from the system. The support we received from the Shoptech software and hardware technical departments during the implementation, and after, was excellent. We are using the data collection system and scheduling, which keeps our information up to date - so when a customer calls and wants to know how long it will take to complete their job, we can be 100% accurate with our forecasting.
We have grown our customer database and company profits since using Shoptech, and have been certified by UTC for an inspection house and the manufacturing and refurbishing of tools. We are also ISO9001-2008 certified. I highly recommend this software for all small to mid-size manufacturing companies.

E2 best feature is its tremendous support. it is full of features. Capable of recording manufacturing process sheets, keeping part inventory, packing slips and c of c. Their well-structured intro classes will get you up and run.

we have been using E2 to build our shop rate. It does a good job of comparing estimated time vs. time used

CNC Machine & Design, Inc. is a small machine shop with a very diverse customer base. We machine parts from all materials - plastics to exotic alloys - for customers in many fields, from medical and aerospace, to general industrial applications.

We started using E2 in August 2005 and it has served us quite well ever since. Prior to E2 we did everything manually and there was virtually no history of purchasing, job tracking, etc. as well as many errors and lost information. E2 has made it effortless in terms of managing these things. We use the standard edition 7.2.12 with accounting through QuickBooks and E2 keeps track of everything relating to our business.

Implementing E2 was easy and we were up and running in a couple of days; the hardest part was entering data. We required no outside training and found it easy to use almost immediately. E2's customer support is fabulous. It has always been easy to contact them and the few problems we have had were easily and quickly resolved. Since 2005 we have had no system downtime for more than about an hour and no loss of data whatsoever.

We would recommend E2 to anyone wanting to manage a machine shop or similar business, it has made our lives much easier.
