E2 is really easy to use and get setup for your company, especially if you run a job shop. It has comprehensive features to allow you to track time and jobs. From quoting, all the way to post production, it has you covered. It also has semi-automated integration with Quickbooks, to help keep your financials in line with operations.

Nachteile

User interface is extremely dated and will not scale for large enterprise.

The product has allowed us to keep track of our jobs and have them organized. It has streamlined our process and has cut the time it takes for us to get going. The vendor answers questions in a timely manner. They also have a lot of videos on their website that answers a lot of the questions you might have.

Nachteile

I am not a fan of the fact that some of the more important aspect of the product are not explained in the videos. For example, the quality module is touched upon but not necessarily explained. If a person buys a module, I feel the vendor should have some free classes to make sure people are using it correctly. I don't think it's right to sell something but not offer free help when you first purchase it.

Keeps things organized, does most of what we need.

Nachteile

Limits you on description areas, Reports are hard to do since we use QuickBooks. Not full blown to where we can use it for everything. Maintanence fees are way to high. Service over the phone depends on who you get some people know more than others to help you through a problem.

As more modules become implemented, the system builds in a synergistic way and adds more value and organization to our operations. The system allows us a lot of control over our process and becomes a great tool that can be used to train new people to the business, completing their role correctly and consistently with existing employees. With E2, our sales team always has instant information and history on any past customer transactions and can reference old orders and data very quickly and easily.

Nachteile

We are limited to what the system can or cannot do; sometimes, we need to change and conform to work within it's capabilities. We are still struggling with challenges on scheduling employees vs work centers.

I just love the E2 Shop Sysstem software becuse it is so easy to use. The Icon view makes navigating through the system a breeze.

Once its configured, E2 is easy to use and produces excellent documents. Easy to track employee and workcenter information.

E2 is not very flexible when it comes to processes- there's a way to do almost anything, but a lot of processes require duplicate entries to indicate alternative processes. For example, if a part can be made two different ways, you must create two separate parts in the inventory and indicate that they are different rather than having an alternative routing or materials list for the same part. Wrapping your head around some of these workarounds can be frustrating for both administrators and users.

It was very easy and smooth to use. Flowed easy among costing jobs and inventory useage.

It was very limited. There was no way of expanding searches, expanding customizations we wanted to make.

Estimating module is easy to see on spreadsheet, and easy to evaluate as an estimating manager.
Love how fast the part master can be updated and effective.

Has some weird bugs sometimes, doesn't have some of the reports we would like and we don't have anyone who knows crystal reports to create them.

It is very powerful and seems comprehensive. The floating seats is key for us as we are a small company.

The learning curve is steep and it is difficult to get questions answered (unless I don't know where to ask)

user friendly and the support staff is very helpful. The turnaround time on issues is very quick and if we need to escalate to a higher level it is very easy to do so and quick .

I would like for there to be a search bar at the bottom of each screen so the user can do their own searches for specific data as needed

I like that this is fairly easy to use. Also, it is somewhat intuitive and has some good "canned" reports that are already included.

There are some features that I feel should be there that are not. Simple features like copy and paste in the portal view were taken away after upgrades that didn't make sense.

The pros are: Ease of use, capabilities of the software, capable of handling our accounting and manufacturing software needs. This software also communicates with our payroll software.

Nachteile

The cons are: We need more reports to choose from that are already formatted. Everything else about E2 is works great.

Fresh interface, easy to navigate, easy to deploy. The support staff has been amazing, with tickets being responded to in near real time. The product is definitely a mature product, and all the small details one looks for in a job shop ERP system seem to be covered.

Deployment phase has an engineer assigned to you, so you have a single call for implementation help. Training has the basics covered in videos you can watch at your leisure, and they also have in-depth classes on every aspect. This comes with the software maintenance (6 or 12 months included).

Covers everything Epicor does, but at a much reduced price - and not as clunky.

Nachteile

Their web based product has a lot of delay, which was negated by using the on-premise system.
Some things take multiple clicks to do, as compared to the previous version that have only one or two clicks for the same feature.

Vorteile

It is very user friendly. Once you get used to the way it is laid out, it is very easy to go from one section to another.
All the sections are integrated (quotes get carried over to orders, which get carried over to packing slips, etc) which makes it easy to check details and pricing.

Nachteile

Sometimes there are glitches, like when you want to print "all Invoices' that are open, and only one prints.
When you are looking for something, you really have to pay attention to what you chose to search. If it is not exact, you will not get the correct information.

I like being able to access our information from anywhere. With the old version I was limited to viewing our numbers only at work. Now I can check in anytime.

There is a learning curve between the old and new version.But as with any change once you learn it, it seem much easier.

Cannot drill down to PO'S, pack lists, quotes from a job entry. Currently, the quote, pack list or quotes modules must be open separately to search for information that should be accessed directly from a job. I consider this a major shortcoming with JobBOSS.

Simple to install and navigate. The system will allow tracking of many work centers at a variety of labor and overhead rates. With the use of actual cost (average inventory), one can get a reasonably accurate costing system, which is nearly impossible in small job shop environments. The accounting modules are adequate for small to medium size job shops or manufacturing organizations.

Nachteile

No automated interface to popular CAD software. Accounting GL may be limited to smaller business environments as financial statement consolidations are not possible in the normal sense, especially if inter-company activity exists. No direct integration of Inventory to the General Ledger requires manual posting of batch report results and may introduce additional errors due to these manual controls.

The accounting package. Too much of a journal entry system to keep the general ledger balanced. This leaves a lot of room for error.
