It fits our business (manufacturing) perfectly and you don't need to be really computer savvy to use it.

You need to be proficient in Crystal Reports to customize forms (po's, invoice, RFQ etc).

Ease of use, the software can give me all the financial and planning reports I need and want. Multiple level bill of materials. Controlling and tracking of material, services and labor from start to finish. Limited software issues. Can customize reports.

Nachteile

The yearly contracted maintenance fee for updates seems high for what our simple needs are. We utilize the pay as you go option .

Once it is set up it is fairly easy to use.

I find the scheduling module is the weakest area that I use regularly.
Our accounting department does not like the accounting module.

I LIKE THE FACT THAT THE PROGRAM IS GOOD IN THE WAY THAT IT SINKS INTO QUICKBOOKS AND USER FRIENDLY.

I THINK THE INITAL COST IS HIGH, BUT THE YEARLY SEEMS TO BE COMPETITIVE WITH WHATS OUT THERE.

The more upgrades I have received the less the product worked for me. They took away some of the functions that I liked. There are also several software glitches that have never been addressed.

Ease of use, customizable and works well in a metals fabrication business. Stable engines and comprehensive data sets. This systems needs real, factual and accurate data input to produce reliable reports

Not cheap. Needs AI assist to increase new users productivity and learning curved in a shorter period of time.

Ease of use. Accurately details project costs. Provides upto the minute employee job details. Can open multiple screens under one user name, allowing me to view and compare many items without printing it.

Would like to manipulate specific report to suit my payroll needs, but unable to. I question its compatibility to Sage 50 Accounting Software.

We are an AS9100 shop. The integration between the day to day operation and the quality module is seamless. It has made our audits go without a hitch.

There needs to be a module that makes our customers pay us faster!!
On a serious note I wish I could figure out a better way to use the scheduling module. It is nearly impossible to keep up with it in a job shop environment.

The software enables us to track our jobs throughout the manufacturing process and is extremely easy to use. Their customer services representatives are knowledgeable and eager to assist. We also utilize their quality module for creating RMA/DMRs.

The aspect of ShopTech that I like least is probably the reporting capabilities. I find the "canned" reports to be lacking.

From start to finish, very user friendly and easy to grasp. The travelers are a necessity for our shop and can be as detailed as needed. Tech Support has always been helpful and professional. Our sales rep available and very responsive to our questions and concerns.

We like the fact we can setup routing and have standard parts flow through the shop or we can use it to track rush jobs without routing for those emergency customer maintenance needs that often arise when customer's equipment breaks down.

I have submitted some suggestions for what I thought would be helpful improvements, but have not heard a word, pro or con.

Broad support for all aspect of manufacturing, including inventory tracking, quoting, orders, shipping, and accounting; responsive customer support; and flexible SQL database design. Excellent means to ISO 9001 certification.

Nachteile

Some aspects of use are counter-intuitive and rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts; needs more end-user tools for individual customization.

The best aspect about using E2 is access to support when required. Over the 2 years we have been using this product, we have reached out to technical support numerous times to maximize the value out of all the modules. Most of the support staff at E2 are very knowledgeable about the product or would point us to a more senior technical person if a challenge is not easily fixed. In addition, E2 takes customer feedback on usability and improvements very seriously and most recommendations are provided in follow-on updates quickly.

Nachteile

Product speed can certainly be improved upon. Given this is SQL based system, product reaction time and processing time was below expectations upon initial implementation. However, many speed related improvements have been made by E2 to correct for those issues. While improvements areas still exist in this area, it has become better over time for the SQL version.

Versatile to handle all functions from administrative to shop floor applications. Has streamlined our estimating and job router creation to a fraction of the time. The online support is very friendly and responsive.

We like E2's ability to give us costing on a job in real time and compare it to our estimate. further the reporting function is very flexible.

We find the formatting awkward and inflexible. Also, we experience loss of data from time to time within the inventory process. Bins will combine and material will disappear, without explanation.

The ease of entering purchase orders, rfq's, and all entry data. Many options for searching especially good that there is by description if need be.

Nachteile

In some instances there are too many steps to make a simple entry or to make an adjustment. When processing multiple invoices for the same company it doesn't automatically enter the general Ledger account.

1. Ease of use. The software is easy to use. It takes very little time to train employees.
2. Stability. The software is up and running all of the time. It has been years since I have needed customer support's help with anything other than minor issues.

Very simply to use. Syncing E2 with QuickBooks seems to be working well. We are a job shop so things move very quickly. From quoting a job to work orders to shipping, it all can be done fairly quickly and easily.

Customer service is spot on. Anytime I need to talk or communicate, they are there to help with a phone call or a web-x.

Nachteile

Reports lack customization for our specific needs, it can be done but there is a cost for that. E2 does not have the ability to spell check, so I'm updating in Word and pasting data into comments. E2 only has the ability to have one screen open at a given time which can be very cumbersome when you need to review your data. You can open a second E2 system on your computer, but as we are a small company we do not have that many seats in to do this all the time. Global scheduling has the ability to auto run behind the scenes, but again needs another seat.

Runs lightning fast. Shoptech support is second to none. E2 has been vital to our business and can't imagine how we would have gotten along without it.

Nachteile

Would be nice to be able to have open multiple sections of the software. Something like tabs or the ability to minimize a window to check something else without opening another instance of the software.

All areas of the shop are integrated. Very easy to train new hires on the software, and customer service and technical support and very good.

The software is a little expensive so if you are a new shop you may not be able to purchase it right away for a start up. But you can buy license as you need so you don't waist money on seats you don't need

Usability as a job shop ERP system. Not all ERP systems can serve as a job shop companies ERP system.

High implementation cost forces users to use for a long time and not upgrade to a new system that contains cloud systems every couple of years. Interface is slow, confusing and not friendly to use.
