very full featured

remote control. Half my workforce is remote, and half of the remaining 50% travel often. This tool is invaluable in fixing issues that arise when I do not have physical presence to my users.

Vorteile

Has chat to let you talk to users. can execute commands remotely without affecting users, stays persistent even after reboot of client, has console with all possible connection listed, has old style too, of not installing agent but going to a web link and putting in a code to connect, as well as client distribution for instant access.

Nachteile

I know they are fixing bug and enhancing security, but the volume of updates is somewhat daunting when the clients do not update themselves automatically. Updates would be a lot easier of they would push them or at least give you the option to have it push updates to say 50 users at a time.

Control of all of our clients computers and servers

Great software for remote connection as well as transferring files or quickly accessing. Also provides ability to script and deploy software and scripts.

Vorteile

Extremely efficient and quick for remotely connecting to servers and computers. Software rarely has issues installing and once in place, remote access is seconds away once initiating.

Nachteile

The cost of the software is a downside. The ConnectWise suite is the Cadillac of MSP software but it will cost one. Highly recommend the suite as Control is extremely efficient.

Great product

Overall, I’m happy. Support leaves a lot to be desired, but product is very stable

We use this a few hundred times a day it is excelent

It is an integral part of our business and it would be difficult to function without it

Vorteile

The integration with ConnectWise: Manage is outstanding
It is super fast
The custom toolboxes are an easy way to provide tools to our techs to use.
The ability to reboot in to safe mode is fantastic

It can be a little CPU intensive on the client machines that are older
When it clears a users background it can confuse the user

Remote Tech Support Platform you can trust

My experience has been for the most part positive, and I really feel their free tier works very well and isn't annoying like other similar products. I've had small issues with older macs

Vorteile

My favorite features are the simple dashboard and how you can invite users to share their devices from a direct link or by sending them a short url where they type the session number (really useful when dealing with someone over the phone). I also like how the dashboard shows information about the devices such as memory usage, model, etc.

Nachteile

I've had issues with certain mac devices where the software has extra requirements (a specific java version, for example), which has made it more difficult to use for users. Mobile access isn't as friendly.

Great improvements for a great product

I am a Remote Team Lead and I use this product day in and day out to help my clients with all of their problems, as long as they have an active networking connection.

Vorteile

They updated the user interface over the old ScreenConnect UI. Streamlining the option, but without sacrificing any of the functionality. This is easy to use, either as part of the Connectwise Automate package or as a Standalone product. Featuring rebooting to safe mode, data transfers and many more features.

Nachteile

If the user is not a admin, you have to trick the software in to prompting your for the admin credentials so you do not have to provide them to clients who lack that level of access, when used as a stand-alone product. Also since Connectwise now has Manage, Automate, and Control it seems like they should create a single pane view for use with the products, like a plug in what you have single login view

You just can't find a better remote control service for the money

Other all experience is exceptional. It's the best remote control experience I have seen both on the user an technician side. It's easy for any technician to learn and be proficient in using within a day. Multiple options to get connected to users systems. Feature set is as good if not better then comparable services. Twice we have looked to see if there was a better solution out there, but nothing beat the feature set and price of Control.

Great feature set. Very easy for a new technician to pick up and use. Easy to setup and manage. The unattended option is great to have. Very easy to get users connected. Reliable. Very cost effective.

Nachteile

There are several plug ins, but not all are very initiative. They could improve the mobile device support, some other applications let you remote control all mobile OS's.

Confusing for few, helpful for all!

Our business has been able to help most, if not all of our customers using this software. Daily use is definitely a thing for this application, as the majority of our troubleshooting is done remotely, and ConnectWise Control is the only reason we are able to do our jobs this way. Thanks ConnectWise!

Vorteile

Once connected, this remote software is a breeze. The amount of options available are limitless for helping a user. (Sending or receiving files, stopping user activity, viewing the same issues or having people recreate their problems.) It's been incredibly useful on a day to day basis.

Nachteile

Some users have issues knowing how to install this software. Certain anti-virus software will not allow this to be installed, and there are multiple steps needed to correctly install the application. Not everyone will be able to follow the steps required, but that's not necessarily a software problem, more of a user issue.

Easy but completely fuctional

Overall, ConnectWise has been a lifesaver for myself and the other remote employees who require access to local computer resources or who operate as I.T. members.

Vorteile

ConnectWise Control has allowed me (as a remote manager) to have access to my company's local resources anytime and anywhere I need them. The way we are using the software is basically as a transition software while we work on a more permanent in-house VPN solution. With that being said, ConnectWise has been 100% functional and satisfactory in this capacity. Super, super easy to deploy and use. It has made any I.T. related tasks infinitely better with the ability to remote into my company's computers so I can troubleshoot the problems myself without having to talk back and forth with another coworker on-site. The best part has been the ease of initiating and deploying ConnectWise. It was important that we got a remote system up and running quickly and this software allowed us to do that.

Nachteile

If there is a downside at all, I would say the software seems to be slightly overbearing for a few of our older PC's on-site. These computers are by no means "powerhouses", but I have noticed that there is a distracting amount of lag time when I remote in to those select computers. This has not been a cause for us to seek another solution, however it does slow down productivity in the scenario mentioned above.

ConnectWise Control (formerly ScreenConnect) - excellent product, new licensing scheme not so...

Excellent remote control utility. Used for Ad-Hoc Remote Control and also agent-based so we can get unattended access to the machine (used for servers). No limits on the number of devices we can install this agent to (at least on our licensing model anyway). Works pretty much every time with a slick remote control experience where other products are stuttery and slow.

Vorteile

Simple, fast, efficient remote control and file transfer. Works on multiple platforms, both Host and Guest. I wouldn't change this unless I really had to - like my licensing got upgraded to the new model perhaps.

Nachteile

The new licensing model. I purchased it when it was still ScreenConnect and I'm on a legacy licensing contract. So far this has been maintained for me at renewal, but when I'm forced onto the new licensing model at some point in the future it'll be MUCH more expensive for me. At that point I'll look around at the competition.

A remote access tool that WORKS and loaded with extra features!

Vorteile

We liked the fact we could host the software on our own servers and had full control/access to the software and its availability. The ability to use addons was a bonus and was found to be very helpful.

We could add as many users as we wanted, without additional costs, but limited to concurrent connections, which was not an issue for us.

Pricing was very affordable and was originally one of the main reasons we discovered and started using this product.

Product is loaded with more features than most similar program.

Nachteile

I really can't say I have any complaints about the software, it is the most used tool for our I.T. support services. Only real issue we had is the download for guest clients (first timers) on Apple computers was always sloooow, but again really wasn't an issue for us, as we primarily service PC users.

Best Enterprise Remote Connecting Tool

My overall experience with Connectwise Control was excellent. I really loved how easy the program makes assisting users remotely, which in today's time is a big big thing!

Vorteile

The integration of connectiwise with other software is great!!
This is the reason why I really love this software.

Nachteile

The free version unfortunately doesn't give the user many options. Having used other free remote support tools, I can see that they have much more options in the free version as compared to Connectwise.

Our 2 year experience with ConnectWise Control

Overall the experience has been positive. ConnectWise Control is a more cost effective solution than TeamViewer, and is overall easier to manage and use. There were some difficulties with hashing out certain bugs earlier on. Lately, we have noticed performance decrease with external users within our company.

As a note: If your IT department is implementing ConnectWise Control into your ecosystem and has Mac users, remember to allow ConnectWise Control client permission to control the Mac in System Preferences - > Accessibility.

Vorteile

ConnectWise is easy to use and has a very friendly web interface. Great long term cost effective solution.

Nachteile

There were some bugs with an earlier version where the overlay "Agent is controlling your computer" would not go away for the customer once the agent disconnected and ended the session

Best remote control software out there, period!

We used Log Me In Rescue for years, paying $500+ a month. We've used TeamViewer, gotomeeting, join.me and Splashtop. We switched to ScreenConnect over 5 years ago and never looked back. The licensing model allowed us to pay once for a number of concurrent connections without having to worry about the number of techs we have. With this licensing model we can pay for upgrades every few years and still save many times over from what we used to pay for Log Me In Rescue. We run the server on our own hardware, having complete control over who has access to it and from where. When ConnectWise took over the product and renamed it to Control we had no issues. They've continued developing it rapidly.

Vorteile

You can buy a license forever. Easy to install/update the server component. Easy to train new users. Easy to deploy to customers. Has every feature we'd ever want: recording sessions, copy/paste into remote window, unattended access, flexible security settings for different levels of employees, works through UAC prompts (unlike gotomeeting), transfer files/directories to/from remote machine, toolbox to run common executables with one click. Has an API to build additions (we've never had to but it's nice to know we can.)

Nachteile

We were nervous when ConnectWise bought this company (previously ScreenConnect) because they were known for "rent only" products but for now they've kept the option to buy licenses to own. The possibility that one day they could change the licensing model to rent only is the only thing I dislike about using the software.

Fully featured and robust for Helpdesk management

Control helps to keep our clients centrally accessible and allows fast response even over poor quality communications lines.

Vorteile

Remote connection is easy to understand and use even for non-tech savvy users,
Templates help to decide on what options are shown and not show which is great for customization and de-cluttering.

Great 1-click redeploy for updating the control agent version

Nachteile

Cloud hosted server is sluggish and slow to respond, each input feels slow and occasionally pages just never finish loading all together.

Addons are non-curated and seem rarely upto date and working.
API documentation for Control seems non-existent or sparse.

No Android endpoint app to remote control mobile devices (This is the one feature that almost had us turn to LogMeIn's product line)
even teamviewer has a host app although it connects in the reverse fashion to match the teamviewer desktop app.

I really like the fact that we can own an on-premise license and not be tied to a contract. It also does not leave any client software installed.

Connectwise Control

Support is great and the product overall rarely causes us problems. We've been using it daily since 2012 and to be honest, even if it price doubled we would continue to stick with the product.

Vorteile

We have been a screen connect/Connectwise Control user since 2012, a brilliant piece of software and pricing is very competitive.

It's quick and supports a large number of clients.

Nachteile

Not really much not to like, other than they no longer offer self-hosted plans, but fortunately we are grandfathered in.

Excellent Tool Package

Like many MSP companies, we had used LogMe In as a RMM software package for a long time. We had invested much time and money into using it when their costs absolutely spiraled (from $500 per year to $4000 per year in two years). We searched and found ConnectWise and have been extremely pleased

Vorteile

Allows me remote access, file transfer, sending commands, command line access, tracking, portable tools, chat, presentation etc. I am so happy i have found this software and cannot fathom ever not maintaining my subscription

Nachteile

I cannot find anything to directly complain about. We use the self hosted version which allows us full control over security, hosting and, speed. The hosted version has a higher cost and is often behind by one generation.

ConnectWise Control

Overall ConnectWise is a very good remote support tool and I would recommend it over many of the competitors.

Vorteile

The core functionality is great. For remote support sessions, it is very stable and reliable, which is critical. The connection works very well in most platforms and it is generally easy to guide users to the correct site for obtaining the client.

Nachteile

The user interface could use some simplification. Using pictures for the whole toolbar may seem like a good idea on its face and looks cleaner, but the end result is I'm always unsure where some of the settings might be located. Also, the monitor settings are a mess. Viewing multiple monitors, having monitors set in multiple windows, etc are great features to be sure, but the implementation of how those items are selected/used needs an overhaul.

Solid remote access platform

We were an onsite customer deployed in cloud based Linux instance, then moved to Windows self-hosted, then cloud. Also tried other more complete RMM solutions but came back to SC.

Vorteile

Simple to use remote access platform. Great performance. Doesn't have lots of options, but does remote access very well.

Nachteile

Lack of monitoring and alert tools. Would like to see some simple ping probe capabilities and other network testing to alert on other devices on the customer network.

Home/Office Connectivity

Outstanding. I have not experienced any issues. The connection is always clean and always run efficiently for me no matter if I am in a hotel room on the road or working out of my home office. The negative things I would say are typically fixed with an easy work around and not sure if that should be considered a benefit, I sure think it does.

Vorteile

I make my money traveling and seeing my customers; however, I still need access to valuable information that is on-premise at my home office network. We use Connect Wise and it is great. It is very easy to access and navigate around. It is just like if I was sitting on my desk at the office. Everything I can review is there no matter where I am. Having the ability to get into our accounting package remotely has been invaluable. Sometimes the reporting that comes out to the field is a little out dated. It is definitely a valuable piece to our technology stack.

Nachteile

They ability to save information from the network onto my local machine. Also I can not print locally either. I deal with some people who are visual learners and having a piece of paper in their hands helps them work more effectively. These are two enhancements I would love to see with the next release.

Simplicity vs Technical Configuration

I solve problems quickly, and on the spot, because I can be anywhere with internet, and get a job done or at least examined with the remote capabilities and functions. Over all I will buy again, because it is a great value. But like I said, configuration needs an overhaul for QUICK, and I mean QUICK, configurations.

Vorteile

The ease at which to create client installs, updates, and easy grouping. Smooth connections 80% of the time.

Nachteile

Configuring things like custom icons, auto updates for clients, and other configurations in this area, are crude, more from a programmers stand point. This needs to be HIGHLY polished up, and made quick and easy. Because IT guys don't have time to always call and chat with support, so you have to look the things up I mentioned, via online information or chatting with your tech agents. The tech agents are quick to respond, but it's something that shouldn't be necessary for CUSTOM configuration. Even configuring sub-techs under me, and their permissions, and what group they can be in, etc., it should be DRAG and DROP, not looking at the steps in online tech docs.

But as far as the remote operations with a client, outstanding! Other than 20% of the time they do have occasional LOCKS, where you have to abort the connection, and re-connect. This isn't local, because I tech remote from every location known to man......lol

Excellant Software for IT Support

I remotely help home users and business clients daily. It is fast, responsive and kind of fun to use. The toolbox and file transfer feature is awesome..

Vorteile

Ease of use for both the IT provider and he client. Really easy to setup and configure. Provides a nice customized link for the customer to go to get the support software and install it. Monitoring of the clients computers is very well thought out and extremely easy to find the customer I need to connect to.

Nachteile

I honestly have no Cons at this time. I've been extremely happy with the software. I switched to ConnectWise after using of the competitors software. Pricing for ConnectWise is better and the setup part for the customer to obtain the download for assistance is far better.

Really usefull and good for MSP uses

Better value alternative Remote Access software

Vorteile

That despite the limitation below, it is much more affordable than competitors, and once successfully connected to your client's agent, it works magnificently.

Nachteile

1) That there is no Access software, that to connect to a client's agent you have to open a web browser, go to your screenconnect site, log in, and then when you connect to a client you have to run a little executable, every time, one of several different methods that sometimes don't work.
2) Some times, but enough times to be a real issue, once connected you just get a black screen. If the client is at their computer they report that they can see you moving the mouse, pressing the Windows key (for Start menu), but you can't see anything. So still need to have competitor software running (in 5 minute unlicensed mode) so you can gain remote access at all.
3) Licensing value is better and fairer than others, but could still be fairer. The jump from 1 to 3 sessions is a bit steep, when competitors let you have unlimited sessions in the base price, and the fact that you can't connect to clients from both your desktop and laptop simultaneously, even if only trying to connect to one session from each with a 3 session Standard license - well - without doubling the license cost! (Again, when competetors let you do this).

Tech Savvy

It really does assist in organization but it takes time to data enter all the material in the system and often techs shy away from that aspect of use of the program

Nachteile

The refresh issues on the program to update for the the material you've data entered it a bit aggravating but we do like the product

Best Remote Control Management Software

We used TeamViewer for several years before a colleague recommended ConnectWise Control. I would never go back to TeamViewer - ConnectWise Control has saved us a lot of time and effort.

Vorteile

Works with any browser, doesn't use a lot of resources, allows us to provide full service remote management to our customers, easy to install on many computers, and is economical.

Nachteile

The default color theme is red, which is annoying to me. That's the worst thing I can say about the software.

The Right Tool for the Job

We administer lots of remote systems with specialized software that is an exception to traditional IT rules of the road. This software has been a game changer in our ability to support these sytems across the country with a simple .. get that box to see google and I can help you motif.

It does all that we needed and that is rare in this world

Vorteile

This was what we needed when we needed to graduate above the Logmein or TeamViewer world. it allows us to have an on premise (and therefor single point of connection) for our remote sites. This allows you to ask for a single firewall exception by IP to allow remote admin. The security and functionality is superior to RDP or other options and allows us to share session and therefor administer while remote users are showing whatever the issue is (without a logout or storing large amounts of credentials etc) and works great with disparate local login methods (differing domains, high or low secrity logins etc.)

Nachteile

There are some convoluted setup steps to get it to do what we needed. There should also be a Backup utillity for the Keys and Config )preferably from the web admin GUI (a la a router that lets you download all your firewall rules etc)

Great software for MSP

I use the software daily and have no complaints. It’s one of those how did I live without it kind of applications.

Vorteile

The software is easy to use and has so many features. The backstage is great combined with the toolbox you can run portable software and not have to interrupt the end user. Deployment is simple and easy too.

Nachteile

The server end that controls the updating of the client constantly is freezing or the service needs to restart. Anytime there is an upgrade to the client it takes forever to update them. Also the iOS mobile software is almost unusable to assist end users

Remote Access, Simple, Easy, Inexpensive

Vorteile

I manage upwards of 120 machines by myself, and ConnecWise makes it easy to take care of them without leaving my comfy office chair. Less expensive than LogMeIn, with most of the same features. The ability to run command line items from the GUI is nice, as is the timeline so you can see exactly when remote access occurred. I have also used the support feature to generate a remote session with someone not on my list of devices, and it worked easily as well.

Nachteile

I wish I had a little more insight into the features of the OS that I am controlling, such as the current hard drive capacity, the ability to reset passwords in the event that someone loses one, or services currently running in Windows so that if someone complains of a slow machine, I can more easily diagnose the issue without having to fight with slow remote control due to maxed out RAM, or things along those lines.

Excellent Remote Support for Savvy Technicians

As a mixed MSP and residential computer support company, we utilize connectwise for quick support calls and our daily support and maintenance work. Even things you wouldn't expect, like the recent timeline of connection history per client helps to diagnose network and internet issues. In the absence of a true RMM platform, ConnectWise offers a tremendous breadth of features and integrates well into other solutions.

Vorteile

The basics of connecting to a computer are very simple and discoverable. The client-side installation is light and stable. The customizations and more advanced features are excellent. I have a remote support portal embedded on my website which makes it easier to get connected to a client over the phone. I have custom groups setup. I have some handy scripts and tools saved in the toolbox. And also quite beneficial, it's incredibly quick and easy to start a support session from any computer - truly cloud-based.

Nachteile

There is very little to say as far as cons. Some less-frequently-used features are less discoverable. Creating groups takes a little learning since you have to write out a boolean sequence. But I still happily trade a small amount of complexity for the power it offers.

Great product but no support

Vorteile

It’s the fastest remote software available. It’s a stand-alone product to the RMM platform and simply the best solution. It’s cloud hosted with very reliable data centers.

File transfers are easy drag drop to the desktop, the client is light weight and can throttle for those slow connection in the world. Has a built in safe mode boot option so you can remotely fix infected users.

Nachteile

Absolutely no support, ConnectWise has no support department an no sales department. If it wasn’t for the accountant collecting money every month I would say the company has gone under.

Don’t use the newer versions of the software, older versions seem to have hardly any bugs. Newer versions have bugs an no one to report them too.

Essential to our operation

Fantastic product, I have used a few different remote client software's in the past & ConnectWise has been our favourite. We use it numerous times DAILY to support our customer base & it saves an immense amount of time not having to dispatch a service truck or trainer to support a customer's simple questions. It has been even more appreciated by our customers with COVID restrictions.

Vorteile

While on-site the connection is extremely simple to set up, no port forwarding or firewall "tinkering" to do.
Works great from a PC & very Well from a Smartphone.

Nachteile

Cost is always a big thing, but there is definitely value in the access it provides.

Great system for remote control (On-Premise/ Self Hosted Version)

Overall it has been positive. The system connects easily and with multiple join methods/ options there is no reason to not be able to execute a remote control session. We have even used it on very slow speeds and it is usable where other tools cannot be used effectively.

Nachteile

The customization, although thorough lacks some key features to "white-label" the product properly. Installing updates can be a pain ("reinstall the program" there isn't any internal update system/ process) but its manageable. You need to use third party extensions to unlock some key features for finite control of the system (being able to edit web.config for example easily)

ScreenConnect (now Control) is the best remote access platform available

Awesome product that just works

Vorteile

I have tried literally every product in this space for the past 10 years, and none of them are even half as good as Control. Connectwise bought them a few years ago and has done a decent job of not ruining the original product. The licensing model is MSP friendly, it's light on resources, uses modern installation techniques and technology and is insanely customizeable if you should want to - but you don't need to change anything out of the box. It works great by default. Fast, stable, available.

Nachteile

Connectwise changed the licensing model after their acquisition, it ends up costing more for new comers than previously - but it's still the best software for the job out there.

Connectwise Control For MSPs

Vorteile

I love how easy it is it use the software. Its easy to setup clients and tie them to their own installer and connectwise allows connections to other connectwise software which makes my job a lot easier.

Nachteile

The software can be a bit wonky on windows 10 computers (only environment ive used this on) but sometimes the agent just wont connect back to my web browser saying its online. Most of the time we have to have the user reboot or sign out of the computer for the agent to realize its connected to the internet.

Fast, cost efficient, intuitive, and user friendly!

Easy to use, cost efficient, unlimited remote sessions, end user friendly, and amazing customer support!

Vorteile

When starting my company, I needed a reliable remote software program that was cost efficient, end user friendly, and one that would not break the bank. I compared 5 or 6 different programs and ConnectWise just seemed like the easiest/smartest choice. I have been using the program for a handful of months with my clients and I do not really have any complaints! I had to reach out to support once and they were incredibly friendly. I resolved the issue before they emailed me back but they made sure to follow up a couple of times to ensure the issue was resolved! That alone is top notch! The forum is also really informative and easy to navigate.

Nachteile

Some of my clients will randomly experience the black screen when I am trying to remote in(all Apple based customers) so that is frustrating that they will have to restart the machines which sometimes means I miss the issue they are experiencing but all in all, 10/10!

ConnectWise Control

We needed a product that was easy to deploy that would allow us to remotely connect to and mange our outer offices.

I've used all the big remote control programs starting with pcAnywhere back in 2005 to Logmein, Bomgar, gotomyPC, VNC,etc... Control is the fastest out of them all. It has a robust tool set with the ability to store my own custom tools. With the msi installer, I have Control tied to our domain group policy. When a new computer is joined to our domain, it automatically gets Control installed. I have used both the on-premises and cloud versions of Control and I have been extremely happy with both. It has been easy to maintain, update, and administer.

Vorteile

The ablility to run commands on multiple machines at once.
Example, after updating a group policy item, I want to immediately push it out. I can select all the computers in my organization and then choose "Run Command". I enter, "gpupdate /force" and all the computers then get the updated GPO.

The new View add-in is an absolute godsend. When you have a remote office and you need to see and hear what's going on, this is a lifesaver.

I wish it gave more information about the computers sometimes.

Great tool - Good mix of Instant and Agent

Love the product. Used to use a VLC-based product before, and this has gone so far already. Still some growing up to do, but seems like one of the best available products out there, at least for my needs, without being stupid-priced.

Vorteile

There is a lot to like about the platform. From an easy-to-use instant platform, to a strong access agent. It does a lot well, and there isn't a lot it doesn't do well.

I love the idea of the toolkit, where you can pre-upload commonly-used tools.

I also like that the software seems to be taking some steps forward as time goes on as well.

Nachteile

Always have to turn down to Low setting. Doesn't seem as optimized for bandwidth as other tools. Lack of CNAME ability; Doesn't seem to work right no matter how you set it up to make the site look like your own. Very awkward to customize look-feel, even with third-party add-ons.

Old Timer's 2 Cents Worth

I spent the last ten years of my career working from a comfortable home office for clients in Boston, New York, Idaho, Atlanta, Kentucky, Indiana, and my home town of Louisville, KY. While they were busy doing construction of all 5 bridges across the Ohio river over several years, I walked downstairs to work each day while my fellow office dwellers spent upwards of an hour or two daily sitting in traffic and paying for parking and tolls. Thank you, ConnectWise.

Vorteile

This product has come a long way since I bought my first one-time "forever" license of ScreenConnect. I had tried them all. This one was fast and stayed connected even on slow dial-up connections. I eventually was forced onto their web platform. It's actually better than the stand-alone product. I have not needed their live support for some time, but it has always been good when I did call them.

Nachteile

Terminology is confusing and sometimes over my head. Am I the "guest" or the "host"? I can never find my administrator's login screen. I have two accounts and the phantom one I suspect, gets in the way of my accounting. Wish I could go back to buying a license instead of the never ending subscriptions.

On premises user of Control

As an MSP Providing Remote Monitoring and Management solutions, having the flexibility that Control provides is great. Being able to open just a support session, or installing it on clients machines, it has been a great product to work with.

Vorteile

This is by far the easiest remote control software I have used. Even after using various remote monitoring and management tools with different access apps built in, I purchased Control and use it all the time.

Nachteile

I use Control on a MAC. For some reason, occasionally in the middle of a session, it will stop working, and not allow me to click on anything. I haven't figured out if it's a bug, a setting, or something else. But simply closing the session and re-opening it puts me right back where I was.

Great remote software with good feature set.

I switched over from fixme.it as I needed a remote support app with a phone app as I use tablet and phones in the field and I'm.not always near a computer.

Support has been great over chat as needed and most downtime is noted well ahead of time.

Vorteile

Quickly see online status, system specifications and ram usage
Easily issue commands to system and transfer files.

Nachteile

Upgrading and sometimes new clients have issues associating with account. Once in awhilenanfew workstations refuse to update and manually installing fails.

Price is on the high side compared to some offerings. Screenshot is nice but really too small to be of ant use

CW Control the most useful tool

This software allowed us a more direct relationship with our customers, since it facilitates daily technical support and thanks to the chat itself, effective communication with the user can be made. Additionally, the updates can be executed comfortably and this favors the response times of our customers.

Vorteile

CW Control is absurdly stable and works under any OS that we have tested: Windows, Linux, Mac. Also in any browser: Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari. The functionality of allowing to listen to the audio of the connected PC is very useful since I can talk with the client while the support is made. Updates are easily made to the users.

Nachteile

Perhaps the most complicated is the administration of software adjustments. They should put better methods for security settings, since it is rather granular, but not the most intuitive. In addition to this we have not got another negative aspect in it.

Great if you host on Windows, bad if on Linux

Function - great. Stability; til 2019 great. Stability; since 2020 : zero.

Vorteile

It offers a good alternative to Teamviewer, and is IMHO even better. Price better, but functionality also. It offers the ability to request consent to customers to control their system. Add-ons increase the function set.

Nachteile

The support if you've the self hosted solution running on Linux is bad-bad-bad. Since 8 months we've to reboot our server 5-8 times a day because of a memory leak or something like that. Embarassing that the support team didn't pick this up, despite of tons of support requests by lots of customers.

Great Alternative to Cloud Remote Desktop Screen Sharing

I've been using ConnectWise Control for several years, when it was called Screen Connect. I am satisfied with the ease of use and the flexibility with the customer installed version of the software. I would like to continue using the software in this way and not pay a monthly subscription for a cloud-based product.

Vorteile

I like that ConnectWise has two buying options: customer-installed on-premises software and cloud-base monthly subscription model. I prefer to host application software in my own private cloud where I can control it's use, security, connectivity, and data redundancy.

Nachteile

You need to have a Webdev background to customize the on-prem software. Customization could be easier with a GUI based interface.

Great tool with Issues

Overall experience is positive as far as the product goes, the support is not good until you get to escalation. As long as you are a small shop this software will function well but it does nto scale well.

Vorteile

This software has tons of features and easy to use along with very good integration with ConnectWise automate.

Nachteile

While this software worked great for us while my company was growing, it became a problem at scale and when used in virtualized non-persistent environments. The tool became slow and clunky to get workign and it took threatening our account manager that we would leave the product to get proper support for our issue which was discarded as a ticket for almost a year before then.

It seems to me that the web interface is still better a little more, it is not something that represents a great inconvenience since it does not remove it from the tool.

Best Product on the Market for Remote Support

I support many clients remotely and have found ConnectWise Control works better with the way I work. Allowing a single technician to access multiple sessions means I can work on something else while waiting for something to download or install. The mobile apps for my tablet and smartphone also mean I can resolve emergency issues from almost anywhere.

Vorteile

How easy it is to walk clients through establishing a connection over the phone. Being able to customize the session name makes it easy for them to understand. Also being able to install unattended access from there saves me from having to login from their computer.

Nachteile

The website is not very friendly when dealing with old versions of Internet Explorer and other browsers.
