When the pandemic began, our team became fully remote and required a more efficient tool that could integrate well with our Google Suite. There is a web-based, collaborative option provided for PowerPoint, but it doesn't provide close to the same functionality as the desktop software. In fact, we found it to be rather glitchy. In addition, few of our employees use OneDrive, and only one in our company uses Outlook. So, we made the switch to Google Slides. The change has helped us become a more effective, collaborative team.

Design, look and feel of the presentation is simply better then the rest. The only reason why I use some of the alternatives to PowerPoint on occasions is due to possible integrations and the fact that they are cloud products (i.e. in lieu of a desktop application)

I have been using the PowerPoint application from college days for creating the slides for presentation for my projects. It was a great experience during my college days to create the PowerPoint presentations. Most of the times during those days I helped my friends to create the slides. I started learning the PowerPoint during my 3rd year of engineering and after that if I ever looked for an application to present some information to any audience, I always preferred PowerPoint because it was quite easy to handle and it allowed me to use my creative ideas to present the information.Now I am an IT professional using PowerPoint for presenting the meeting agendas and used for reporting purpose also. It is a great opportunity to use more features of PowerPoint such as tables, diagrams etc. I have been working in IT sector for almost 8 years plus and I feel it is great application by MS to present the ideas to any audience.

PowerPoint allows everyone to be creative their own ideas, but I noticed that sometimes I had some difficulties regarding the formatting and alignments between different OS platforms while working for a client who uses Windows and MAC systems. Also I had one bad experience related to adding a video to PowerPoint presentation. While presenting it never played and after that I manually played the video.

I honestly can't say enough about Powerpoint. When I first began using it I thought it was a simple office software that would allow me to cobble together some shapes here and there to create business cards or employee notices. But as an office assistant modeled for me all of the utilities that were actually available and easy to use within Powerpoint, this ended up being my all time most used and all time most beloved office software. I have created everything from posters to fully fleshed out safety videos and programs as well as training tools without ever having to leave Powerpoint.

I hope "Edit Links to files" will show which chart links to which file. For example, my Excel reporting files have similar charts each month with minor changes depends on needs. Now, I have to update all the links in the PowerPoint to the current month Excel file, then manually update the charts which are different than prior months. Those steps can be avoid to improve efficiency if I can see which charts links to where in the "Edit Links to files" window.

When you add images to a presentation the doc size becomes very large if only there was a solution to this it would be helpful.

il est regrettable que tous les raccourcis clavier ne soient pas répertoriés. Un autre inconvénient est l'impossibilité d'importer des fichiers gif de manière simple et efficace. Cela peut également entrainer une forme de somnolence lors des présentations.

I have seen Powerpoint in its old days when it came with multiple glitches and low customization with color, design, and options to create graphics. I love that I am able to customize diagrams and graphics to the t! I love graphic designing but often times we don't have access to sophisticated software, but powerpoint can work wonders if you know basics of how to use basic shapes, combine them, layer them, and create multitude of communication material. I have used it to design logos, to create flyers, customized powerpoint backgrounds and more. It's easy to use and very functional. I will continue to use it everyday!

With any MS office suit, there can be glitches when you have Excel tables embedded in the powerpoint. There are times when either the data doesn't update automatically or the table link breaks. Those issues should be fixed for a seamless working experience between Office programs. Other that that, I love Powerpoint for what it does.

I love using power point as it is great to visually communicate to clients. The slides are easy to add and format and arrange. It is also nice that it autosaves and I can go back to different versions as I don't want to lose content. It also converts nicely to PDF.

The presenter mode doesn't work well with screen sharing. I like being able to see the menu of slides and jump from slide 1 to slide 10 if I need to but when I'm presenting on the screen, I have to show the slides on the side. It doesn't always integrate nicely with screen sharing.

I have been using Microsoft Powerpoint for so long that I don't want to switch to anything else (unless it's group project then I have to use Google Slides). Powerpoint has every features that you could use to make your presentation as exceptional one. Ppt has so many useful features that the only thing that would stop you from making a good presentation is your imagination and your skills in using it. I LOVE the tools that they offer, especially the animation and effects. Google Slides is nowhere near this in terms of aesthetically pleasing. I also like the hyperlink feature where you can create the link to any page you want within a click. To date, every powerpoint that I made is still actually a gem.

It may get a little bit iffy if you embed a video in there. I haven't tried to embed a Youtube video before since I'm always afraid it will mess up my presentation in case of rough internet. However, if you want to embed a video in general, make sure that you save the video in the same folder as your ppt. Double check by open that video in the same folder to make sure it works.
Ppt could do a better job if they include more templates, or allow for downloaded internet on Microsoft site.
Compared to other presentation softwares, this software is relatively easy to use, but a bit tricky when you try to make it a stellar presentation with cool effects and animation. Therefore, it may take some time for beginners to get used to until they can get comfortable.

This comes with its own set of advantages (see above) and disadvantages, mainly that PowerPoint presentations have become a crutch for speakers. It's structure is somewhat rigid and slide shows aren't perfect. Once you load up a slideshow many people start to tune out right then and there. Files also aren't accessible from the cloud unless you have and outside service for file hosting or sharing. You have to carry some kind of physical copy or have another way to access the file if you aren't on a mobile platform for your presentation.

I like the fact that I can easily put together a basic presentation in only a short period of time (including transitions). There are ample templates that comes with the product. The pricing for Powerpoint (though Microsoft Office for Mac 2016) is reasonable, and it had better be due to the fact that Apple offers its own office suite for free.

Not really a "con" per se, but Powerpoint has so many features, that the ribbon that contains the menu is cluttered and confusing at times. Thankfully after working with the program for a short period of time, it becomes intuitive. Microsoft tech support doesn't appear to really be a "thing." I wasn't able to find a number to call with any questions; however Powerpoint is so widely used throughout the professional world that it's not difficult to find instructions (written or video) throughout the internet on a wide variety of topics.

Something that has been frustrating is making the text boxes. It's not hard to learn but creating a text box with pictures distorts the slide. It moves things around and finding the 'move to back' button is not an easy task. I can tell them how to do it, but it is not easily figured out by elementary students.

Here are the pros I see with PowerPoint:
- It's consistent with other Office products
- The features and capabilities are not matched with other presentation building tools - you can honestly build/edit/insert anything imaginable, which just isn't possible with other platforms
- The shift to the cloud has been helpful and necessary

Here are the cons I see:
- The cost. Period. This really is the big one. There are numerous ways to build beautiful, informative presentations that are completely free for the user. This is not the case with PowerPoint - you have to pay for all those features and capabilities. And depending on your budget, it's not that cheap.
- They are a lot of features - honestly, there are too many features for 90% of users. Most individuals do not need all of the power that PowerPoint offers. So in this example, it's a bit overwhelming if you're not comfortable with the platform

There are so many different features and options which is great for all sorts of different presentations. The templates are great if you are building a presentation from scratch. It is very easy to use, even if you aren't super experienced in using it, you'll most likely be able to figure it out.

With the new update, it is sometimes difficult to find features that I am used to being able to easily access. The only other downside to PowerPoint is that it can sometimes freeze and be extremely slow if you're trying to add in pictures or graphics that may be of higher quality. Saving and opening large PowerPoints can be pretty slow as well.

I use PowerPoint for all kinds of presentations - from assembling quick information for a meeting to super important lectures like university exams. For such occasions, I especially appreciate the presenter view on the second screen. It shows my personal keywords in the speaker notes, gives a preview of the next animation or slide, and also automatically starts a timer. Additionally, I like using PowerPoint to create easy figures from standard forms and then export them all as one graphic.

Nachteile

In some cases, it would be helpful to be a bit more flexible concerning the animations, either by more choice from the standards or by more individual user options. Sometimes, it needs little tricks and combinations to have the actually desired outcome. Also, I occasionally struggle with the master slide deck on how to achieve the right settings, but I do not use it often, so maybe there is only a little more practise required.
