New Clinic Manager's Insights

So far it has been wonderful. And, I cannot rave enough about the incredible customer service that [sensitive content hidden] has provided, and continues to provide. She is making Jane Uni and my understanding of Jane much easier.

Vorteile

It is intuitive and has provided features based on the needs of a clinic.

I am less than a month in my role so am still learning and not able to objectively respond.

Excellent

Vorteile

The software is very user friendly, and the customer support people are so helpful, especially [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]. He is just great, and hasn't had any issue with me contacting him directly for help, just because he is so fast to look at things and give me a hand. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has even taken the time to call me and walk me through things I'm having difficulty with instead of sending screenshots. Those are also helpful, but sometimes it's nice to have a friendly voice on the other end walking me through how to find something.

Nachteile

There isn't really anything we don't like about it, but there is room for adjustments. We would like to see late cancelled appointments show in the appointment history as late cancel, not no show, and we would love to be able to add a reason to late cancels, instead of using the drop down to cancel appointments that then disappear from the schedule.

A great Canadian made booking software

Overall we enjoyed using Jane App and was able to set it up for our specific needs. We loved being able to support a more locally owned business when choosing their service. Their customer support was good but was also delayed for up to 1 to 2 days at times. Their online help menu was very helpful at times.

Vorteile

We went with Jane initially because it was a Canadian based company had a great review from another float center we had consulted with. The mobile side of this software was very easy to use and navigate. It was easy to adapt it to our needs of running a float center; the app is intended for practitioner style business. (Chiro, massage, etc)

Nachteile

Does not have membership style functions or being able to have a single service token compared to a dollar value on someones account. Does not send out auto emails at different pre-determined intervals or other areas within the software.

Growing Your Goals

I'm loving everything that Jane has to offer. After 10 years in the medical profession (nurse) and being a real stickler for documentation, I'm a big fan that I can create my own intake forms and consents. This allows me to continue a normal charting flow for me while protecting both my client and myself from any future issues that may arise.

Vorteile

I love that Jane App is a total package - appointment scheduler, documentation, ease of accessibility for both practitioner and client - all for a fraction of the price of hiring someone to do the same work. Jane makes it so easy to visualize the roadmap I need to create in order to obtain the goals I set for my massage practice. And even better...I can grow my business with the Jane App, too! What's really blown me away? The customer support at Jane is personable, prompt and open to receiving feedback to what their practitioners wand and need in a software program.

Nachteile

Scheduling is a little tricky as the sole practitioner. My business is mostly out call based but will occasionally have repeat clients, friends or family over to my home to provide the same massage service. Unfortunately, right now, Jane isn't able to accommodate blocking off schedules if another location is booked. I'd also like to see Jane have a mobile app in the future.

Essential for our day to day business activities

It's as if we gave them our business plan and said: "Here build a web app that we can build our business on." Truly built from the ground up for a busy clinic such as ours.

Vorteile

Reporting and client management is its strength. The support is impeccable and prompt. The uptime has been 99.99%

Nachteile

The UI is not as intuitive as I would wish it to be.

Wonderful software, wonderful team!

Jane App has been a wonderful addition to our office and makes managing patient files a dream. The Jane team is always there to help if needed and are ever changing to grow with the new world.

East of use, always improving to make it work even better than it already does, its nice to look at.

Enthusiastic Convert

I have been very pleased. They have really "wow-ed" me with their exceptional customer service and continued upgrades to the software.

Vorteile

The features were what initially drew me to the software. I was looking at options that had patient notes and scheduling that were so much more expensive. Add in awesome features like online scheduling and it was a no brainer.

Nachteile

I would like a little more customization in the text and email alerts for upcoming visits. My clients love getting texts about their visits, but I would like to be able to make more custom messages such as procedure changes related to covid precautions, or specific needs for different types of visits.

Text length limits are actually a technology limitation! But I definitely agree that more communication by text would be ideal all throughout Jane. We'll keep working on that.

Have you seen the area of the treatment settings where you can add custom "booking information" unique to that treatment? If you go to settings -- treatment -- and edit you'll find an area called "Booking Information (after booking)" that will populate on your emails.

Jane is the most impressive company I've worked with in years

I have recommended Jane to everyone I know in the health/medical industry. I have also recommended that business owners who are wanting to provide a phenomenal product AND SUPPORT either check out Jane or talk to the founders/management. I love Jane!

Jane has been a great transition for my practice! I wish I would have done this much sooner. I would highly recommend it to my colleagues as well as other professionals looking for an EHR.

Vorteile

Cloud based, ease of use, integrated payments, price point is amazing, and customer service is top notch!

Nachteile

Patient notes take a lot longer than desired, Membership aren’t exactly able to function the way I need them to for my practice model.

Beautiful interface for holistic practices

Great customer service.

Vorteile

The interface is nice and quick to learn. Jane team is helpful and easy to contact by email. I like the ease of having clients do online intake, consents and billing. I like being able to build templates.

Nachteile

This software really lacks features for healthcare practitioners that need to track coding of ICD10.. which is important when you are ordering labs and billing. It doesn't have a way to have flowsheets of data or problem management, which is terrible for midwives. You can't track lab values anywhere either... it's like your having to open and keep open a visit note to have a template to enter values in. I have also seen no additional features or updates in the time I have been using it.. until Covid came along.. they added televisit option.

Many of your cons are very true. Thanks for listing them here - as I think it's important for people considering Jane to recognize that integrated labs and the tracking of lab values over time isn't currently available.

The "vitals" chart piece is built to be tracked over time visually and we're working on that on our end - so we'll keep improving on that.

If you'd like to see what we're currently building or vote for features, I wonder if you've seen our feature request list? You can access it from the drop down from your name at the top right - click "Feature Request" and then at the very top left you can flip over to "Roadmap" to see more info.

Under the "Feature Request" tab you can also search and upvote your feature requests.

Hands down the best EMR/practice management software.

Absolutely the best. Many of the features that other companies charge for are included in Jane's basic version and honestly, Jane does them better. Can't say enough good about them. Just try the product and you will see.

Vorteile

Easy to use, does everything you need and almost everything you want without having to pay more. Customizable chart notes, works for multiple disciplines, fantastic scheduling, online scheduling, payment processing, appointment reminders, insurance billing, google reviews, patient portal. It is also way cheaper and their customer service is unmatched. I have set up and used many different EMR platforms over the years and Jane is the best in every category without any contest. I will never use another software again.

Nachteile

We have been using it daily for almost 2 years now and have not had any major issues. When minor things come up, their customer service is quick, efficient, and very effective. They are a joy to work with and I would give them 6 stars if I could.

Vorteile

Diary management and record keeping is made easy with Jane - patients like the system and even think that Jane is an actual person its so personal

Nachteile

The only issue we still have is when patients share a pre-paid plan - with time we hope that payments will manage this better.

Wonderful Organisation and Product

From the start the JaneApp team took care of our small company. They were available to walk us through the set up from start to finish, and have been available on an ongoing basis whenever questions came up. This wasn't often though, as the software is so user friendly and accessible. Our clients love it - they appreciate the reminders and being able to book online. This has also reduced the number of no-shows or late cancellations we receive. We use far less paper now as all the forms can be created and stored confidentially on the platform. They are constantly developing and making worthwhile improvements to the software. Jane has been a huge time-saver. It's great.

- Can do everything in one place (booking, case notes, forms, etc)
- Sends out automatic reminders - reduces number of no shows and late cancellations
- Client-friendly online booking platform

Thanks for sharing and an extra tip for your paperless office: If you do have paper forms that you still use in your practice, you can laminate them on hard card stock and then have people fill them out in erasable marker. Then scan them (or take a photo of them) and load them into Jane as an image. Then erase the form and you can use it again - no more shredding!

Jane App is the new standard in chiropractic.

Vorteile

I’ve used several different EMRs and practice management programs in my career. And I even started with using paper charts. Jane is the best so far. Working with different types of chart notes in modules is a breeze.

Nachteile

Insurance billing in the United States is still confusing and is a dark magic to me. You have to use a clearing house to bill insurance. And I’m still not sure how that integrates with Jane once the money starts coming in.

Also, it’s hard to SALT (same as last time) billing and diagnosis codes from the proportions visit. I would like to see those carry over to the present visit by default, and allow me to make changes as appropriate.

Switching from paper can be a big task. I'm so glad to hear about your experience with Jane's charting. It's one of the areas in Jane that is constantly evolving. Have you seen the new formatting options yet?

You're right, all insurer payments and EOBs need to be manually recorded in Jane at this time - but not for long! We have an Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) management tool currently in beta testing. This feature will allow you to download your remittances from your clearinghouse of choice, and upload them to Jane to make posting payments and EOB much quicker and easier :)

Work without encumbrances

My overal experience with Jane has been outstanding. It is highly customizeable, while at the same time completely in sync with the way we do things in my field. No unnecessary anything, without anything missing. It is extremely well thought through, is easy to use, and I got it running in two hours!!!!!!!!!!

Vorteile

Jane does what you need in the most intuitive and straightforward manner. It has every thing you need and not one thing extra. Paths to forms, administrative tasks and everything else are clear, help is always excellent, and often I find myself admiring the designers and programmers for their common sense.

Nachteile

Nothing! I am smitten with Jane. It is wonderfully designed.

Versatile software and excellent customer service!

I highly recommend Jane. It is easy to use, cost effective, and their customer service is top notch!

Highly recommend Jane App for health care setting

Love it and feel it is great value for what I'm receiving.

Vorteile

I have been using Jane actively for a few months and am appreciating it more and more on a daily basis! I've noticed an increase in new patient bookings as, apparently, people like the freedom to book online rather than playing phone or email tag with me. Many, many of my return patients comment how much they love Jane and how easy it is to use.

In the past few weeks I've started online charting as well as the booking and this too is going well. I'm thrilled to finally be done with paper patient files (that I need to store for 10yrs once inactive!). This is much more efficient.

Customer support is also excellent and response time is great!

Nachteile

Not really a con, but because Jane offers so much, there is a bit of a learning curve, at least for me. However, I'm not a tech-sort and had only done paper booking prior to Jane. Thankfully, they were able to walk me through any difficulties I was having with set up etc.

I love that you're finding success with the online booking through Jane - my practice is seeing 60% of our appointments booked online so I agree that it's a feature that is appreciated by patients. When I first opened my practice that number was closer to 25%, so it's interesting to see the change in patient behaviour over time.

I have never worked with a company like Jane

Jane is everything I need to run my Counselling practice.

Vorteile

Jane is the BEST thing I’ve ever done for my business. It is intuitive, easy, and the Jane team is constantly improving it. They are incredibly driven to make an amazing product. I could not possibly recommend it more highly.

I honestly have no complaints. It would be great if their family bookings were easier, but they are currently working on that!

Decreased workload with appointment reminders and payment collection options
Great reports for my accountant and for taxes
Keeps all chart notes and documents in one place
Integrated Telehealth included
They seem to be constantly improving my experience with upgrades
Excellent help section, but also quickly respond to emails and phone calls

Best Customer Service & Easy to Use Software

Jane's customer service is absolutely stellar. Everything works together so beautifully and both I and my patients love how easy it is to use for all sorts of tasks. I love how you can modify almost anything as well!

Jane Team are Rock Stars

Jane takes time to get used to and comfortable navigating around, am happy I did not have to rush this process. Tech can be intimidating for non tech folks, but the Jane Team have your back.

The support from the Jane Team is incredible! The emails are friendly, easy to understand and the responses are fast. The Jane Team have every corner covered for support, not just emails but they also provide an online resource guide, steps to setting up your Jane account, videos to watch, demos and Jane community Zoom meetings! I have used Jane App as a massage school principal, an practitioner at a clinic and now for my own 'soon to be open' clinic... and they simply are the very best! Thank you Jane Team, you are all Rock Stars to me :)

Nachteile

The cost... would like to pay closer to $60 a month as I am the only practitioner in my clinic.

Makes My Job Easy

The biggest benefits have been the online scheduling. But I also love the software also frees up my time with processing insurance claims.

Vorteile

I'm relatively new to Jane (8 months) but it makes my job managing our patients, payments and insurance very simplified. The best feature for me is the online scheduling. Frees me up to do so much more in the office.

Nachteile

The only cons are my own mistakes. I'm going to take more advantage of their training videos before experimenting.

I have used several clinic booking softwares. Jane is the easiest to use, to customize and to get help when needed. They listen to their clients and constantly do new updates and fix issues.

I recomend JaneApp

I love the app, but I love even more the people that respond to my questions ;o) So friendly and knowledgeable - which is so important to me. My questions are always answered in a timely manner and with helpful ideas, solutions, info. Great job guys!!!

It is easy to use; all the features in one program, colour coded; AMAZING customer support.

Nachteile

MAIN: Space to have two people's info (name, phone, email address, etc.) and the ability to send reminders, etc to both people under that client number (I work with couples)
Minor: colour codes (I would like to have more colours available) and this may be available I am not sure: videos on how to (from settings, to add people, establishing breaks, schedule, etc.). So much easier than reading lists of steps to follow.

I'm not sure if you've used Jane's relationship feature to manage multiple reminders? That does allow you to send reminder copies to multiple clients, but I also understand that couples can behave in a variety of ways when attending sessions as a couple or as individuals so the relationship feature might not be exactly what you're describing.

I wanted to love it

Firstly, we are in the U.S. We started with representative knowing it wasn't quite ready for U.S. billing integration, but soon found out that jane was very far from ready. They did not really even know how U.S. billing worked or how it was different from Canadian billing when we called to let them know what we needed. We have found work-arounds, but they are time-consuming. Next issue - INCREDIBLY slow page download times when working with any of the billing functions, for months. Have upgraded/updated everything from computers to internet speed, modems and routers - it's not on our end, have now spoken to a few other clinics experiencing the same thing. This is an issue with jane 's coding or host/server most likely.

Vorteile

Jane is such a pretty software, and it promised to be awesome, but it's just not working as it should. It's pretty to look at, it's well organized, and customer service is responsive - though only via email.

Nachteile

Not ready for U.S. billing integration - not even close. VERY SLOW page download times with all the billing functions. Aint' nobody got time for that.

There's a few things you're saying here that I'd love to talk about.

I'll do a search of your name to find your questions but we have thousands of US clients billing insurance successfully so the troubles you're having are ones I'd love to look at.

And the speed is definitely something I'm curious to investigate on your account. Our load time from the servers is typically milliseconds (and something we monitor closely!). I'll see if there's something going on with your specific database.

Finally - Jane really wants to be friends with billers. The Canadian and US system are different, but the challenge for Jane to create a system that delights practitioners and patients is the same.

Great resource for our growing medical aesthetics practice

Vorteile

We previously used another EMR designed specifically for medical aesthetics; however, we find that Jane has been a great option for scaling and growing our practice. We LOVE the ability to use templates in our charting.

Nachteile

There was a bit of a learning curve at first; however, we found that once we got the "basics" down, it was very intuitive.

Jane is a Game Changer!

I love just about everything from creating templates to charting to the fullscript integration and just letting Jane work for me with online booking with booking notifications, creating disciplines, treatments... the flexibility and functionality and most of the time ease of use.

Vorteile

Ease of Use. Customer Support. Design. Functionality. Features. It feels like Jane really listens to the users needs and implements new features all of the time to reflect this.

Nachteile

So far I really only have Pros.
If I had to choose a Con I would say sometimes I just cannot figure out how to intuitively do certain things with the EHR so I often hit up customer support to help me resolve my inquiries.

Benefits are ease of use, functionality, creating tasks for myself and other users that I can see and follow up with, no paper, customer service, ease of implementation for day to day, accessibility, color scheme, personality, online booking ability, messages and follow up with patients, connection to mailchimp.

Vorteile

I have been working in the field for over 10 years and have used several different products in my practice. Jane take almost all the goods from each of them and implements them in a user friendly platform. The day to day is relatively simple and speeds up as I get used to the programming. I am a nerd so I could use a few more reports, but maybe I just have not used it enough to get what I am looking for. I am excited about implementing Jane into the practice.

Nachteile

I cannot easily figure out how to Duplicate common procedures along with the notes.
A report for missed/No Show/Cancelled/rescheduled
A report for the daily Totals on on one page.
I am not sure where I can find rescheduled, no show, missed appointments, cancelled appointments once they are off the schedule.
A place to record where patients came from ie BNI, referral, etc
No visit counter outside of the yearly visit counter for insurance ie for tracking insurance reports
Again all these might be on there but I have not found them or a training on them yet.

I wonder if you've tried out the "unscheduled patient report" - It's a bit of an unsung hero for catching those missed/cancelled/no show patients who haven't rebooked. And the summary report has quite a bit of detail in one page. I love the way you think and I'll send those suggestions along to our data department to keep in mind as we develop our reporting dashboards.

Perfect for Small Businesses and Ease of Scheduling for Patients!

I love it so much! It's exactly what I need for my little practice!

Vorteile

I love how easy this software is to make appointments and chart for my patients! It is great to be able to look up other templates as well if I don't want to create my own note template! I love that the live chat is available for the first 30 days! I would be lost without it! It has helped me so much with little questions I have as I learn this software!

Nachteile

I only use this software on the weekends. I wish that I could view weekends only as opposed to only removing weekends from my view. I also wish I could see my month on the schedule so I would know what I have coming up for the month.

A little tip for schedule viewing, if you click the number keys on the keyboard you can reduce the number of days in your view. So from the main schedule, click "2" to see only the next 2 days, "3" to see 3 days etc. I know it's not quite the condensed view you're looking for to make booking into the future easier, but it could get rid of the blank weekdays for your upcoming weekend. It's also not a default but I wonder if you'd like to play around with it anyway.

Jane was our offices first transition to electronic charting.

Vorteile

As a user the ability to generate individual template is paramount.

Nachteile

It would be my desire to have an option for "cancellation" versus "attend" or " no show".

If you're looking to record the reason for a cancellation but don't want to use the No Show/Late Cancel system, just use the notes field on an appointment to add some details about why the appointment is being canceled. Everyone loves Jane!

I save time with Jane. Clients appreciate the ease of use. I save money because of all the reminders that can be sent out so people don't forget their appointments.

Vorteile

The customer support to integrate and upload electronic charts from another platform is amazing. Knowing that my files remain together and seamless inha client account is a relief. Clients often comment on the ease of use from their end which I like to hear. Its also easy from a clinic user standpoint and has everything I need to run my business efficiently and effectively.

Nachteile

The one thing I love about Jane is that they are very dynamic. They are continually taking user suggestions and adding new features. There may have been a few glitches while setting up my account but none that would change my overall review of the functionality off the program.

A must for private practice owners

It has been amazing! I am so happy that I chose Jane..

Vorteile

The major plus of using Jane is the customer support. They are extremely helpful and reply to you so quickly when you need support. Although it took a bit of time for me to get used to the software, the tutorials along the way have helped immensely. You can basically google any question and Jane has a response to help you!

Nachteile

Being able to send questionnaire and surveys to clients as I need as opposed to every session.

Ease of use and customer service

I only work 1 day/week in my practice and they extend a discount to me for working so little. Love this! Thank you. Customer service is always amazing.

Vorteile

Really REALLY user friendly. Help pages are great as well. I rarely feel like I need to talk to someone from the company to solve an issue. They are constantly updating, upgrading and adding new features as well. When I do need to talk to customer service they are always quick to reply, extremely friendly, and are quick to get me an appropriate answer.

Nachteile

Sometimes the SOAP notes take me a bit of time to fill out. I know I need to sit down and fix them myself, but I don't always have the time to do it. I wish my billing codes and dx codes could be duplicated with duplicated notes - at least I have not figured out how to do this yet if it already is a feature.

Jane has been great for us as we got started.

Jane app is easy to get started right away and it works for you. Customer service is friendly and helpful. We have had a good experience.

We lack some of the specific reports we need and it does not do all we need on production compensation for our employees.

And thanks for the feedback about the schedule display. Jane can sometimes display differently based on your device and monitor - some have found success by changing their monitor preferences, but we have a few other tips on schedule display too if you'd like to hear them!

You could try increasing the zoom of your schedule by using short cut keys Shift+up arrow (and Shift+down arrow does the reverse) which makes each appointment a bit longer, and working with the magnifying glass tool can make booking a bit quicker too.

But I'll bring up your feedback about the calendar lines and see what we can do.

Jane App - an easy and effective electronic charting system

Vorteile

Most recently, Jane App has provided Telehealth video appointments which has been a welcome feature during this COVID pandemic. I have been able to safely and securely provide physiotherapy sessions with my clients who need it most. Jane App is easy to use and covers every aspect of our business from booking clients in, to writing their chart notes and even sending them booking reminder emails. I like how easy Jane App is to use, and how they ensure their product is effective for all of their users.

Nachteile

One specific feature that I would like to see is to easily access someone's chart notes from the schedule view, instead of the day view only.

I am curious to know whether you will be continuing using Telehealth even into the future as in-person care returns? I wonder if this will result in a shift in practice in general.

We've been so glad we could re-prioritize Jane's features in a way that was helpful and I hope you'll find the upcoming features just as useful.

Chart notes from the main schedule - there is a way to get there! Click on the appointment, then hover over their name in the booking info. You'll see a "view" panel slide out - click it! Then you'll get the patient's full profile on the page and you can click over to their chart. It's 3 clicks to get to the chart while from the day view it's only 1, but hopefully that's faster than whatever you're doing now :)

Long time Jane user--Love this entire product! Can't run my clinic without it.

I've solved the no show issue I had before I used Jane. With all the email and text reminders to our patients, we've decreased no shows by 95%!

Vorteile

I've been using Jane for I think 10 yrs? There isn't a part of it that isn't helpful to my business, therapists or patients. And it's all under one umbrella. Our patients find it easy to manage their bookings, billing is a breeze once it's set up. And the options for customization especially with clinical noting is endless.

Nachteile

I find setting up all the customized information a little difficult but not impossible. Jane has an excellent process it leads you through as soon as your subscription starts.

A Beautiful, Evolving Practice Management Software

Outstanding customer service and a software that is expanding and evolving in ways that make sense, are customer driven (we ask, they evolve and provide), with training and support along to way so we understand how to use it. I am extremely happy with Jane overall.

Small business life saver!

Organized easy online booking for staff and clientele. The clients love the automatic sms or email reminders as much as the staff does as it reduces no shows keeping the bookings full with plenty of time to rebook. Billing is so easy now saving hours of administrative time!

Jane App has made my time booking, billing and charting immensely easier! I spend a fraction of the time I used to as Jane has so many features that do alot of the work for me!

Nachteile

It was a steep learning curve to get to know how to use Jane as it does have so many features. I made lots of mistakes at first but Jane Team is always there to help!

As a clinic owner myself I can appreciate the never ending work that needs to be done outside of your clinical hours - so I'm so delighted that Jane might be playing some part in making that a load a little lighter for both you and your team.
