I am very happy and impressed with RIB Candy, once I understand the full functionality of RIB Candy it will make Day to Day management so much simpler.

The Intergration of all the functions available through RIB Candy makes managing multiple Projects easier for all users.
Nachteile
It takes time setting up all functions to meet up with your companies identity and the way that it functions, but nothing comes easy. Once it starts functioning everything is a breeze.

I have worked on Candy for almost 10 years now and I can boldly say that is one of the best Construction Project management tools I have ever used. The support team is very knowledgeable and provide industry tailored solutions for the complex scenarios we encounter.
Vorteile
RIB Candy is virtually an all-in-one Project Management Software which allows you to manage both costs and schedules in one place. This is especially beneficial for providing accurate forecasts and projections.
Nachteile
Most of our clients work in excel, which is not a problem when using Candy. The problem is that, somehow, due to the decimalisation of Candy one commonly gets slight variances between the client's excel sheets and our Candy data.

Candy Improvement
I have been using Candy since 2013 and have greatly enjoyed it. The support team is very helpful. Currently, I am leading a digital transformation at my company and am comparing the use of Candy versus CostX as a replacement for Excel. While I am not an expert in CostX, my internet research suggests that both software solutions have similar ratings. From my perspective, the main weakness of Candy is its poor integration with external software like Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel. Although I am emotionally inclined towards Candy, the rapid advancements in BIM technology highlight the need for improved integration capabilities in Candy.

Candy - An Excellent Tool

Vorteile
Most of what I use Candy for is the QTO and Estimating portions.
I find them very useful and quick to use. I do enjoy that the software is continually being updated and changing to make it easier to use and more streamlined.
Nachteile
As I mostly use the QTO function, I do come across a few minor bugs. Sometimes QTO will crash or state that there is an unexpected error; or sometimes the length or area tools will bug out when inserting new point etc. However this is not a major issue.

Very Happy, been using CCS Candy for more than 15 years.
Vorteile
Centralized database allows you to combine historic information from multiple projects at one point for ease of Estimating new Projects. The coding system speeds up the Estimating process.
Nachteile
Out of an consultancy point of view certain functionalities and layouts needs to be added to Candy to gain more users in this sector.

Candy Review
Candy provides important information for costing purposes at a click of a button. I can import costs such as labour, plant & material for any item or trade at any given time.
Vorteile
Candy gives you real time costs. What I love most about it is that it is linked to the accounting system so there is no need to request costings from the accounts department, you can retrieve the information yourself via build-smart.
Nachteile
QTO which is the measurement tool takes a while to load drawings.

Candy- A better alternative software for Project Management
It is a good alternative software for project management. Please try it, recommended.
Vorteile
I have experience with MS Project and Oracle Primavera for project management works and during the initial period, I struggled a lot to learn these softwares. But recently I got introduced with Candy and it is really simple to understand and more powerful to work. It is the most suited software for the construction firm and price-wise also the preferable option to go with Candy.
Nachteile
It always difficult to correct the mistakes and functional wise, MS Project is far better to compare with Candy. The popularity of this software is very low and there are very limited numbers of online tutorials available for Candy.

Candy from a Post Contract Perspective
As a Post Tender Manager, our projects are build from 40% sub contractors, for which a relook at the sub contractor manager would make a huge difference in the usage. The estimation, planning and forecasting module is more than adequate and shines above all other applications. I would not attempt to commercial manage a Project without the presence of Candy in the estimation and live cycle of the Project, in terms of pricing Variation orders, EOT, and financial management and reports functionalities available.
Vorteile
The ability to clearly identify resources, pricing from first principle and being able to evaluate the overall estimate from many angels. Candy has a very powerful reporting function and works smooth and efficient, which allows the user to ensure all elements are considered prior to tender submission.
Nachteile
The Sub Contractor Manager does not allow for flexibility to execute the works and a different procurement strategy without huge rearrangement of the architecture of pricing methodology. The QTO does not allow a multiuser function, allowing multiple measurement clerks to measure simultaneously.

1. Nothing that stands out, CCS has a lot of functions that I still need to explore but CCS also makes this easy with the free webinars.

20 years later and .....
I have been a QS for 30 years. For 20 of those years, I have used RIB Candy. I cannot image doing my work without it.

Estimator's review.
I use Candy on an everyday basis. It is VERY easy to use and able to report in a very concise manner.
Vorteile
Costing and Programming Integration. The ability to draw up histograms with Estimating Resources.
Nachteile
The Price, specifically if you are a "one-man concern".

i think it's a good construction tool that does a lot of things and it can be used to manage lots of projects. i also think that should one understand it better, the results will be beneficial

candy reviews
candy does not incorporate advance capability to formula or function like excel, and it has some unnecessary steps or incapable of doing of shortcut on steps. with the current advancement of technology including AI, the candy should be more efficient then it is now.
Vorteile
I am still a beginner but i believe if i understand fully how to use candy it will be easier to do estimates faster and efficiently with increased accuracy

Material adjudicator, requires line items to be priced temporary to bring usage in adjudicator
Risk on resource allocation cannot be applied on trade but rather on trade types

Candy is very powerful for doing detailed resource based estimating and is mainly used by contractors for Estimating, 2D take off, Linking with program, Valuations and Project control functions. While CostX is used mainly by consultants for BOQ preparation and Quantity take off from both 2D and 3D models.

New Candy User Review
My experience as a new user is relatively good. Certain things make it a lot more time-consuming to use. As I use it, I get faster using the program, but I do release that some aspects will take more time to do, compared to just using Excel for my claims
Vorteile
It is relatively easy to use and using it gets easier as I progress
Nachteile
The print to excel is frustrating. Headings, Bill no, Elements, total, etc. are not bold, and I can't find settings to change the print to excel settings.
I also feel that there should be formulas connected to totals so that if the PQS certifies on your claim, it pulls through.
