Worst Product Ever
Constantly a disappointment

None. This product is absolute garbage that never works. It requires weekly patches to fix the problems from last week. Product only works less than half of the time

Fantastic endpoint and even server management
This has helped me so much that when I started in a new company I made sure to get it for our deployments and management, it was easier to do since they didn't have one. Everyone I introduce this to thinks it is amazing.
Vorteile
Gives us the ability to monitor and run reports on all of our end points. The higher end component for OS Deployment has made PXE booting and loading as easy as clicking a few buttons. We can now deploy images on new or redeployable PCs in under 10 minutes and have a user setup and working in about 20 or less. Patch scanning and remote software deployment are amazing. Configuration changes like USB drive locking, printer or other kinds of things can be managed for better security. Documentation is fantastic with a large KB site.
Nachteile
Can be difficult to figure out some things. Some areas are accessible through multiple different ways to get there. Some areas can be a bit convoluted.

Great endpoint management!
Overall it's a great product for a good price.
Vorteile
I've been using Endpoint Central Cloud for a couple years now and I can say that it's a been a life saver. Easy to access data on inventory, patching, and management. Good support as well as long as you don't mind some back and forth with the tech folks. Overall a great product for a good price.
Nachteile
Patch management can be a bit finicky. One of the things I dislike is when you push a patch to a group of devices, if a single device fails the whole push fails.

Awesome tool with slightly lacking support
We went from excel sheets with manual reporting to this tool. It was a great step in making management of our end points actually quite easy.
Vorteile
This software allowed us to consolidate our desktop management and reporting into a very user friendly tool that makes getting to the information quite easy.
Nachteile
The only issue that we have is some of the information can be stale and we have to manually scan the desktop. It does not take long and does not happen too often to be a major issue.

Great Desktop Management Software
It helped us easily manage all of the computers and mobile devices. We didn't have to worry about computers not being up to date with Windows updates.
Vorteile
There are a lot of features that make it easy to manage all of the computers in our organization. You're able to automatically push Windows and software updates. You can also manage mobile devices as well which was a great benefit.
Nachteile
Their imaging module was a bit lackluster. It wasn't very automated and it was fairly difficult to setup properly.

Using the Cloud Evaluation and the software was so quick to get set up and set up the Domain connections. Agents deployed within the first 30 minutes.
The ability to have MDM, OS Deployment, Patch Management and IT Assets in a single pane of glass makes administration so much easier
Nachteile
No Cons found yet. Any problems we have come across the ManageEngine team have been quick to respond and provide assistance.

Good Value for the Money
Vorteile
I liked the fact that it was cloud-based and could support Linux, Mac, and Windows. Linux and Mac have a diminished feature set, but patch monitoring and deployment seems to work well for all 3. I was able to get most of the configurations set just the way I wanted them in an afternoon, and users are able to self-enroll their agents without difficulty by clicking 'Next' through a wizard, or running a binary file without any needed arguments in Linux. Software center (3rd party apps) templates are incredibly easy to deploy - checkbox, deploy, and it's there.
Nachteile
The cloud interface is a bit slow, and the software center is always slow for the users to launch - we're talking over 10 seconds. The licensing adds cost per admin user, but otherwise seems straight-forward. Mac software deployments do not take into consideration the 2 CPU architectures now, which can lead to issues.

Vorteile
As a general user for this software I don't have much to add. It is utilized by our IT department to manage and implement patches on our Windows machines. It usually does its thing off in the corner of my system tray and doesn't bother me.
Nachteile
From a user perspective there isn't much to like 'least' about this software. The interface is locked down and it runs in the background. If anything, the scheduled time that it scans for possible updates does take a fair amount of computer resources, but this is more of an implementation choice by the IT department. Scanning could probably be less resource intensive, but then it would take longer.

A capable Desktop management program for Businesses
Overall it is a good and recommendable solution for endpoint desktop management needs. Regular updating, patch roll-outs and other remote tasks can be efficiently managed across the organization's machines. Interface improvement may be due.
Vorteile
Remote installation of updates and patches across all users. Keeping all users' machines updated and secure. Deployment is easy and doesn't interfere much with system resources. The value and licensing is quite reasonable and low.
Nachteile
The interface is old-school and may look cluttered. Analytics should be improved for assessing It performance. Integration with other applications like security suites would be great.

One of the easiest to use management systems yet powerful as well
We went from having a few devices in a few close locations to 100's of devices located across multiple states. Having a reliable and simple way to manage these devices has made my job 1000 times easier.
Vorteile
I had started with Maas360 and every part of that seemed to be confusing and poorly laid out. With DesktopCentral that wasn't the case. It was easy to find what I needed after a very short time of poking around and trying things out.
Nachteile
About the only thing I can think of at the moment would be that that the mobile devices are separate from the inventory. It made the integration of the 2 products seem less integrated. But this was, to be honest a minor issue to me.

Dynamic Custom Groups are not efficient. I need to create rule based custom groups and use it for every operation in the software.

ManageEngine Desktop Central is a very good Windows platform based solution
ManageEngine Desktop Central was procured to set up an end to end implementation of ETL application associated with Airflow. Ubuntu was downloaded. All the required software was easily installed. A container was successfully configured in windows and the airflow was configured to run in one of the designated containers. The batch run of the jobs were eventually configured to run in windows.
Vorteile
The tool was easy to install and established easy connectivity with cloud. The windows system tools were easily configurable and the VDI/desktop sharing feature was amazing. No complexity as windows OS is relatively easier that other platforms.
Nachteile
Some of the Linux based OS are not able to be configured successfully. The maintenance cost is a bit high.

ManageEngine Desktop Central comes in a handy when there is an expansion in my organization especially in terms of geo location. It helps us to be able to have a central control on all our device and to secure license for our keys software.

This software helps my organization to have remote access to our devices that are not in our HQ environs. It also helps to have a control on our basics software, thereby helping us to have a reasonable cost control in securing some of our utilities software.
Nachteile
Using USB and some other peripheral devices are somehow ambiguous.

Solid 4 out of 5 product
We chose to go with this product because the cost to features were acceptable to us. We have used the product for about 2 years now and I used it for a short while just before leaving a previous job. That said I can spend 20 minutes on any section of the product and come up with something else discovered and wanting to implement so I know there is more to the product than what we use it for now.
Vorteile
Has all the features that you would need in a product like this. Remote support, Patch management, reporting, and many other automations possible.
Nachteile
The product has less man hours put on the user interface than the rest of the product. The look is fine but definitely not as intuitive and user friendly as some of the competitors.

Endpoint Central Management
Vorteile
So far using the End Point Central have help so far have a good inventory. But it just not inventory of hardware but also software. Finding which computer have which software and version have become difficult but with Endpoint central it has helped a lot on having a bigger understanding on the environment. The good thing is End Point Central has helped with software patches, inventory module and Os deployment. I also like that it has a remote desktop so I so that was a plus as well. Glad I was able to find this product.
Nachteile
Hard to say so far it has met my expectation at the moment. No Complaint at all.

Positive overall
Better control of our desktop/endpoint environment for support, patches, and configuration pushes... all at a fair price.
Vorteile
Clean interface. Easy to find most information. Some nice tools included, would like to see more tools like remote registry viewer.
Nachteile
Help file is a bit limited. Online KBs and forums are average to OK. Support for non-critical items is responsive enough. Worried that "live" support for emergency items (i.e. DC is not starting, database problem, problem during upgrade, etc.) is not easily available via phone (I have not had to contact support about a critical issue to date).

Great all in one solutions for ITSM
I treat Desktop Central as another employee in my team, it does the workload of 10 employees.

Desktop Central - Invaluable to us!
100s of users started working from home in the last year due to the pandemic and being able to remote control their desktops to assist has been a real boon to us.
Vorteile
Software deployment and patching is a breeze! The fact we can use a secure gateway server to connect to home user PCs over the internet is a lifesaver!
Nachteile
Sometimes tricky to get what we would consider to something simple added to the product. Upgrades can be tricky but support has assisted every time we've had an issue. Unable to use OS deployment due to how it works, but we have InTune and Autopilot for this so it's never been a showstopper for us.

Total control over ALL endpoints
It's a superb product if you are looking to dominate every aspect of endpoint management, both on mobile and desktop hardware!
Vorteile
ME Desktop Central gives me total control over every device in our organization -- desktop and mobile -- whether in a domain or workgroup, including both Windows, Mac, Android and Linux. Deploy configurations, software and even OSes. Connect remotely to user sessions or command prompt and even Windows registry. Patch management is top notch! Mobile Device Management is second to none (UEM Edition). Works well with the new features included in Windows Endpoint Management Portal (formerly Intune).
Nachteile
ManageEngine Desktop Central has absolutely zero cons.

It works and is worth using. We use the free version, which is only able to monitor 25 endpoints. Which is fine as we use it for servers.
Vorteile
Once set up, works well. I can remotely get in to workstations and, at a glace, see what is up/down. It is a secondary service for us to use if we are unable to use our main monitoring software.
Nachteile
It can be a bit clunky. Needs a dedicated pc/server to run (along with other services in use). It is expensive.

Upgrade beware
The Desktop Central has been flawless up until now. However, this latest version has crippled out IT staff, which reverts in going to the workstation.
Vorteile
The version of Desktop Central was updated days ago. Now we are having issue with machines and running the latest version on a third of the computers. Also, I am unable to modify. suspend, or delete any announcements.
Nachteile
This latest upgrade has many different issues, but not being able to sign into workstations is very demanding , while not being able manage is hard on our IT staff.

Titan Machinery Desktop Central Trial Review
Our main goal with this software was Windows and 3rd Party Software Patch Management. The trial has proven that Desktop Central does this very well. We will also be using the product configurations area to deploy new printers later this year.
Vorteile
Our number one goal with this product was to patch our existing computers. Manage Engine makes this very easy and straight forward. I like that you are able to patch on demand as well as automatically apply patches. The 3rd party software catalog is huge and great for patching our 3 party software. The configurations that can be done are also very useful, it acts almost like a GPO from a Windows Server without the confusion.
Nachteile
This is a very feature packed piece of software. With a lot of features comes a lot of buttons to push. It takes some time to get used to where everything is located in the software but I would rather have the features and have to hunt for them a little than have a stripped down piece of software.

Excellent alternative to remotely manage your end devices
It facilitates the administration of the daily use devices of our work team, the content control, the security updates are done from the same place and in a fairly fast way and most importantly remotely.
Vorteile
The tool provides a wide range of functions, of which I highlight the device administration policies (application installation restrictions, password protection) guaranteeing the control and security of the private information contained in said devices.
Nachteile
Despite the ease of implementation and use of the tool, perhaps one point to keep in mind is that it is more intuitive.

Good alternative to SCCM with complete features
All in one management system. Easy to setup and interesting cost
Vorteile
Easy installation on premiss , a little less on Azure. Templates are available if needed. Many option ad cool feature from distribution of software to remote control. Managine MDM , server and workstation is very easy once setup.
Nachteile
No integration with Azure Active directory, still base on Active directory setup for the workstation? Management little tricky with on a cloud based domain. Groupe poicies and update management not easy to remove.

OK for what we use it for but is lacking any support from ManageEngine
I personally have been involved in multiple implementations of ITSM and computer management solutions. The product ok for what we use it for, but the support is abysmal.
Vorteile
The remote control and scan feature is intuitive and easy to use.
Nachteile
The support is absolutely non existent. We feel very much on our own in the implementation and integration with Service Desk plus. We have run in to multiple instances where the integration is incompatible or not working with no documentation regarding the issue. Manage Engine Support only knows how to configure Service Desk and when asked about Desktop Central has to route all inquiries to the Desktop Central team that doesn't appear to exist. Its unacceptable for a company to showcase integration while not explaining that they are very much two different products independent of any support. We currently have an issue where a fully updated version of Service Desk is incompatible with a fully updated Desktop Central version. Is there any communication internally?

Impressions after 1 month of use and testing
Has provided an excellent method of patching and deployment of software for remote users over their VPN connections. This was required to meet the standards for the security certification the company required.

Software is very very easy to use. Patching gives you lots of options and control of how/when to handle patching.
Nachteile
so far the only thing is the wake on Lan option is a little off. sometimes it works. the cloud version doesn't seem to function correctly

ManageEngine DC is an easy to use patch management and computer administration suite.
Vorteile
ManageEngine was easy to install and update. It's easy to use, feature rich and has a good support as well as an online community and knowledge base. Patching info is current and addresses specific exploits and patches. Program contains tutorial links for training of specific features from within application as well as links to request support, chat with a rep and feature requests.
Nachteile
Support staff is polite and knowledgeable but can be a little slow to respond during ongoing correspondences

Desktop Central has it all.
We use Desktop Central to deploy patches, deploy/remove software, remote connect to remote devices, asset inventory, file management, remote shutdown, etc...Everything about Desktop Central has benefited our company.
Vorteile
Desktop Central provided us with the ability to replace several different software products that we were using before, and gave us so much more capabilities on top of them. Deploying patches, software, configuration jobs are a must in this day and age, and Desktop Central makes these processes extremely easy.
Nachteile
I really do not have any complaints about this software. They are always adding more and more functionality.

Decent but needs work.
Vorteile
Software is easy to enroll the device once profiles have been set up.
Nachteile
Android Applications do not auto-update when using the software for multi-app kiosk mode.
Support is abismal when dealling with issues that are life safety. It took over 2 months of daily 1 hour update phone calls to find why tablets would not enroll. It kept being 2 more days for over 2 months.
Ended having a developer working directly in our onsite hosted MDM instance for 16 hours to resolve the issue.

Non-profit life saver
I've been very happy overall with DC, I've not found anything as fully featured that is available for those on a "nothing" budget
Vorteile
What is most useful for us as a small charity with a small network are the remote installation, desktop and patch management systems, and because we have less than 25 machines we are able to use this fully features software for FREE.
Not only that but the support is fast, friendly and even available to those on the free plan which I think is unprecedented for most SAAS.
Nachteile
I would say the user interface is a bit clunky at times although it is improving.

i'm really happy of this product, i can have a full control of our assets.
it was very easy to deploy and i like the possibility to manage also the mobile devices.

Ease Endpoint Management
Vorteile
It is very similar to the other manage engine works and the GUI is pretty straightforward. It won't consume more time for learning and it will be easy to learn the function and configuration of deployment. And the tool is also available for different Operating Systems, so deployment can be made easy.
Nachteile
While installation of patches, the reason or the error why it has failed is not properly mentioned often.
