Lightspeed is a complete POS in one box
I use Lightspeed for nearly everything...POS, ecom, Loyalty Reward system, credit processing, time cards, and reports. All of this and I am barely scratching the surface of what Lightspeed is capable of doing.
Vorteile
Lightspeed allows me to have a POS, time card, Loyalty Reward system, credit processing, and ecom all in one software package.
Nachteile
I would like for customers to be able to share their wishlist with friends on ecom. Lightspeed has stated this is on their list of upgrades to be made soon.

Perfect for all types of retail.
Allows to manage multi units from one computer quite easily. Customer service attentive and quick in getting back.

A rebranding and a 2022 50% price increase for the same features
Our experience has been okay.
It works pretty well, we've had some niggles but chatting to support doesn't really yield any results - you may as just read the help documents.
They recently rebranded to Lightspeed and HUGE price increases kicked in.
Vorteile
It is pretty easy to use and it has a reasonably good feature set.

Older generation might like it
Terrible honestly. The business owner has been with them for years and I inherited that relationship. Honestly dealing with them is the most frustrating part of my day and we've wasted thousands on them.
Vorteile
The only pro of lightspeed is that you can talk to actual people and you can request callbacks
Nachteile
- Sales people lie or have no idea what the product can do
- They transfer you around a lot because they don't know what is going on
- They try to blame their software failure on you because they are banking on you not knowing anything about computers
- The program itself is clunky and the e-commerce side is extremely unfriendly to change design of or control appearance. Most layouts aren't very mobile friendly

I was really impressed with the functionality and ease of use of the system.
We started using the software at a time when very few people were using apps to take restaurant orders. It was revolutionary for our market and soon many followed the trend.
Vorteile
It was a revolutionary tool for us in South Africa when we first started using the system in our restaurant in 2013. It eliminated errors in orders by the waitrons as orders were taken immediately at the table as opposed to the waitron memorising the order and punching it into the system. It also assisted in getting dishes to the patrons much faster as orders went directly to the kitchen with little delay. The stock functionality was also very useful to us.
Nachteile
Based in South Africa and the exchange rate being extremely volatile at the time, the monthly premium was sometimes quite expensive.

Overrated
Vorteile
My experience with Lightspeed is the server based version, not the cloud based solution. The program had a lot of useful fields and kept service history pretty well.
Nachteile
Lightspeed is extremely expensive and dealing with the contracts is a mess. The program frequently crashed, and the layout of the marine industry version was very confusing.

great for my needs
I have been with lightspeed since I first started my business. i have looked into other systems but found that for the value, Lightspeed is still the best. their cross platform ability is great. the reporting is straightforward and it's easy to track inventory and sales. i only wish they had capability for rental tracking but no off the shelf software will do everything that any business needs.

We are able to use Lightspeed to see trends in our business and pull reports that are vital to the life of our business.
Vorteile
It is very easy to use and train employees. I love the fact that Lightspeed is available 24/7 if you have questions. They very receptive and always resolve any issue I have ever had.`
I love I can log in and virtually anywhere to update inventory, etc.
Nachteile
nothing I don't like. I wish there was an appointment setting option that we could use for scheduling services.

Excellent and reliable
Lightspeed is a robust software solution for our store and e-commerce business. We opened our store in June 2017 and added the e-commerce solution to our website 4 months later. Lightspeed has provided excellent on-going technical support and training. We are able to run our business with all the tools we need, and have not had to "make something" work. It makes us look like we've been in business for over 10 years, and not the under 2 years that we have been.
Vorteile
Lightspeed has been easy to use from the beginning. (We opened our store June 2017) Adding, modifying or removing merchandise, vendors and pricing is quick and easy. I like that I can see the margin and profit at a glance, as well as more comprehensive data necessary for bookkeeping, etc. I track employee hours and can monitor their clocking in and out. We have been able to make it industry specific to include work orders, and per hour labor charges.
Nachteile
When we opened our store last year, we were allotted only 3 employee logins in addition to one for myself and my husband. When we added just one more employee, we had to pay as much as adding 5 more employees or adding a "new register location".

Outstanding for retail stores with pooled inventory
Greater Inventory Accuracy Numerous Sales Reporting and Analytics Options Customer-friendly ease of doing businessI am aware that there are issues with any system. Overall, I'm satisfied with LightSpeed's service and performance. It is dependable, and despite the few issues I have, I am happy with it.
Vorteile
A product's ability to be organised under one parent product while having several versions, as in combination and matrix products. Incredibly simple to utilise and instruct to new team members. Many features, including simple refunds and returns.
Nachteile
Particularly during peak retail seasons, our customer service has occasionally been slower. When needed, customer service can be a touch sparse. reports not downloading has been a problem in the past.

Solid and dynamic POS
Overall an advanced product, yet simple to use and integrate into any restaurant.
Vorteile
Easy and quick setup, highly functional. Always adding new features (even requested a few changes and they made them for me personally)
Nachteile
Tech support wait times can be hit or miss, but we're talking max 30 minutes, which is reasonable vs other companies.

User Friendly
Love using it, it's super easy! If I ever have an issue or I don't understand how to do something their 'help' function is really useful and the chat and phone support have been a real lifesaver.
Vorteile
Love the eCommerce function, when our business had to go curbside only it was really easy to set up online shopping. My older co workers had an easy time figuring out how to use the system, and I love being able to check inventory and sales even when I'm not in my store.
Nachteile
Limited options for payment processing, having to go with a non integrated payment was frustrating, and we were also limited with payment processing options for our eCommerce site.

Easy to setup, use and great customer service.
I researched POS for a while and really liked Lightspeed, but didn't want to pay the price. I got a cheap POS for the first 6 months and quickly outgrew it. Along with that came some headaches that I'm still working out because of our line of business that the cheaper POS didn't accommodate. Wish I would have just went with Lightspeed in the first place and started right.
Vorteile
It's convenient, they have everything all in one place to streamline the business. And if it doesn't come with it already, they have apps and ideas to integrate.
Nachteile
The only thing that is a little irritating is having to put inventory in twice. It doesn't take a huge amount of time if you are a reseller and can use their upload catalog from vendors they already have information for. But I either make and sell my own and have to put it into inventory - save, print label and get back into inventory to enter the UPC that prints on it. If it's an inventory item from a wholesaler then I have to input it and just enter their UPC on their tag and print and it's fine. But it seems a bit repetitive, but am told they are working on it.

Good for Businesses Without a Ton of Inventory
Vorteile
The ease of use, and reporting on this system is great. It gives you very detailed reports and a wide variety of reporting. It is very easy to make a sale and search for items in inventory. I love that you can special order items for customers, it shows up when I am doing a Purchase order so that is great. They also have an E commerce side to it that is also great, but you have to set it up yourself.
Nachteile
I think that whoever created this system was almost too smart for their own good and they probably have never had to actually use in real time. It has caused us to have inventory problems because unlike our previous system (ComCash) this system will not let you show a negative inventory. So say someone prepays for 20 items you don't have, your inventory will still show zero. If you have a purchase order open with said items on the order, then it will take the items off of the purchase order..Also it won't let you sell .1 or .5 of an item..we sell some things by oz and have had to make 2 separate items in the systen for one item, one for the whole amount and another for the .01 amount..if this makes sense. Which has also made it very hard to keep up with inventory. Doing inventory the way that we do it, can not be done anymore. We do inventory by Vendor, usually, and that is not available on this system. They do not offer a customer loyalty tracking system. Our previous system kept track of points per dollar and this system does not do that. That is an extra add on monthly fee, which is absolutely ridiculous if I am already rewarding the customers with dollars off their purchase after so many points. I shouldn't have to spend even more money to keep track of that information. The system crashes - a lot. Lightspeed has had more than 10 crashes in the time we have had it 03/18-08/18 and that is just something that is not OK. If you are a busy store with lots of inventory I would not recommend this.

1 year in and Extremely Pleased
After being with our (old) POS vendor for almost 10 years it was hard to just jump ship and switch to a new vendor. I was hesitant. After speaking with their sales team and they answered question after question, I felt confident. We are now fully integrated with both our POS store and online retail presence. This has been the exact solution we've been wanting for all these years.
Vorteile
1) Support, support, support. A product is only as good as the support that's behind it. IMO, we've had issues during the day and at almost 12 midnight where I had to call HelpDesk for support an issue. Not only was a Ticket # created for me, it was followed up with an email, and they made sure that my issue was resolved. This has been worth every bit. A+ in this area.
2) No software to install. So if you want to run this on a PC, laptop, Apple computer, or even Linux ... sure. All you need to do is make sure that you can print (receipts).
3) Ease of use. The online portal is extremely easy to use and navigate.
Nachteile
1) If the internet goes down, you are dead in the water. Obviously, because the product is based online. Sometimes when there is an outage in our area we just have to ask our customers to pay with cash or checks.
2) It is pricier. Although I do realize that this is Cadillac, I'm not paying for an old Tercel anymore.
3) Reports. The reports section can be a little daunting and confusing, but once you understand which report(s) you need then getting to it is no problem.

Recommended
I needed a solution that allowed me to run reports and see what was happening at any given time remotely, which Lightspeed allows for.
Vorteile
I've been very pleased with Lightspeed's capabilities, accessibility & overall functionality. We've been with Lightspeed going on two years now and remain content with our decision. Their reporting and ease of use are my favorite features.
Nachteile
My main complaint is the price, but after closely reviewing several other options when shopping for a POS system it was clear that you get what you pay for in this realm. Do be prepared to be patient getting customer support once you're a customer - there's always a wait, but once you reach someone, they have spectacularly friendly & knowledgeable representatives.

Bad experience with Lightspeed Magento maintenance
We have been one of the first customers of Lightspeed in Europe. We have decided to rollout Lightspeed as they were on MAC and had a Magento connector for which we could connect our website. Their solution has never been consistent in synchronizing both retail and online stocks. The yearly process of global inventory has been a mess with hours of pain to get it done. Suddenly, 6 months ago, out of the blue, we got a noticed by Lightspeed that Magento is no longer supported and they only support their proprietary webcommerce solution. We have invested massively on developments around this architecture believing that Lightspeed was a serious POS solution and company. Finally, they have pointed out to Accumula, a integrator and solution provider which we now need to pay to have access to their API. We might have found a solution (not yet proven) but we deplore the communication they do with their customers

Extremely weak ecommerce platform, problematic support
Nachteile
The ecommerce platform is a total joke and is in need of a massive UX overhaul. On top of being a pain to use, it has very few options for themes and plugins, which is a quick way to end up with a website that looks terrible and out of date. There is little to no documentation on most subjects, and what does exist is vague and not very helpful. The store search functionality is full of holes, you will regularly have trouble finding items via search, on top of being an absolute mess. There are many other problems, but the real big one is horribly slow support turnaround, which at times is not even remotely helpful.

Wynwood Walls Shop
Vorteile
Lightspeed has been a primordial software for our shop. Extremely user friendly - when I first started using, it took me minutes to understand the entire platform. The limit of images for each product is great, you're able to advertise your product in various ways with the amount you're allowed to upload. The design template is amazing, we recently modified our e-commerce and there's a wide variety of templates you may use makes it seamless to your needs. Easy to track inventory and invoice.
Nachteile
Other than the wait time on support, this software has been extremely helpful and definitely a great decision for us.

Lightspeed Onsite and Lightspeed Cloud
Vorteile
The functionality of the onsite product was excellent. I uncovered several small deficiencies and Lightspeed support was very attentive to help me develop workarounds. I now use the Lightspeed Cloud retail solution. Support is also excellent for the cloud software. The software is easy to use and intuitive.
Nachteile
The cloud solution is more affordable but lacks in some of the functionality of the Onsite software. Here are some big ticket items that need to be addressed in future upgrades: you cannot customize product labels. This means if you want to put a UPC code in place of the proprietary p-code you cannot. Information exchange is limited for vendors from the onsite version. In Onsite, I was able to use excel files (.csv or .txt) to add new products or update pricing. This was a very effective tool that has been removed from the cloud iteration. Lightspeed assisted with the initial product download but all new items must be entered individually. There are major problems with the Ipad software linking with the recommended Bluetooth barcode scanner. This is a borderline disastrous situation. The scanner that is recommended from Socketmobile costs over $200. However, it regularly loses contact with the iPad. The only solution is to keep the iPad "awake" at all times or to close and reopen the program every time you want to make a sale. Neither Lightspeed or Socketmobile have a satisfactory solution.

Nothing Special.
In 2 years I have had 7 account managers so they are there just to sell you the product but zero help when you need it.
Vorteile
It doesn’t have enough Pros . It doesn’t stand out as better than NCR Stiver or Vend. They all can do the same even though I was told differently.
Nachteile
I am in Bermuda and they set me up wrong from the beginning I get most messages etc in Dutch not English. My currency wasn’t available and finally it was sorted after months. Accepting deposits is critical to my business and this solution is too cumbersome. Discounts,If a client buys 2 of the same item and I want to discount one of thembecuae of a flaw it doesn’t work. I have to calculate the discount and divide it by 2 pain is you know what.

Great - easy to learn, helpful reporting tools, available help
Vorteile
The reporting is great and very useful. I also use the inventory counting program and have integrated my online site with Lightspeed to my brick/mortar store. The price is good and the service provided has been very helpful. The training is good and usually available as needed.
Nachteile
Loyalty program needs to be better - should be able to send photos with texts and integrate email program easier

Lightspeed at the speed of light!
We have had a great experience with Lightspeed. It gives us the reports that we need to run the business efficiently. The waitstaff can easily take orders and payments without any problems.
Vorteile
Easy setup with great support from staff. Great reporting capability. Easy to set up users, products, etc. Great support staff who will help with any and all issues at any time. Can handle almost any need that a restaurant has.
Nachteile
Longer learning curve than some other systems but with practice is becomes easy to use.

Lightspeed Retail is the best cloud based POS system on the market
Lightspeed Retail is cloud based POS system that comes with a host of features for the modern retailer. Very suitable for small-to-medium businesses with single or multiple locations. Pricing is scalable depending on the size of the organization. We give them 5 stars even though there are a few flaws, but comparable systems seem to have more flaws, and Lightspeed has an active and responsive system for submitting feedback and a user forum for feature discussion, which I recommend investigating before purchase.

Nachteile
- More costly than our previous system.

Worst POS experience ever
We used the POS system to complete simple retail transactions. I can not recommend for anybody to use this system in retail.
Vorteile
I have nothing good to report about this POS system. We recently used this POS for a festival and the system, system support and ease of use was so disastrous that every single trader was unhappy with the system. We have done many festivals, used many different POS systems, but this system was clunky, it took 11 push button steps to complete a transaction and the support on site was literally non-existent. As a consequence, the customers had to wait, and we had to spend valuable time looking at the entries of the system rather than interacting with the customers. At the festival we lost opportunities to talk about our product and we lost sales.
Nachteile
The system is clunky, unfriendly to use in a mobile setting and not in touch with customer service.

Lightspeed (aka Snail Speed)
Upon, attending the NRA in Chicago, we thought we found an awesome new POS system for our bistro. We were expecting that we would run our operation more efficiently than we have in the past, but Lightspeed is really not restaurant friendly. The system is so cumbersome and simple operations are very time consuming (our operation, like all restaurants, needs fast and easy transactions).
Most upsetting is that we were misled in many ways by the Lightspeed sales rep. Upon giving the rep our list of requirements we were told the system is fully capable.
Currently, we are unable to manually process credit cards although the Rep assured us that they work with our processor, Vantiv/Mercury. We were also told our printers would work with the POS system, but after install, we soon realized that none of our printers were compatible and we had to order another equipment which cost us a lot.
Lightspeed does not appear to have been written by someone in the restaurant industry as there are certain functions that are common in our industry that is not available. Or if they are available they are so out of wack and really clumsy. If you think you might want this system, here is a list of functions you might want to try before buying:
Voids and Discounts, Splitting guest checks, BOH reporting (specifically End of Day, Cashout reporting, if you are going to use registers), Barista’s claiming tips, To-Go module or fast transaction module (almost laughable as nothing this system does is fast).
I urge you not to make the system mistake as I did and look elsewhere. If you have a restaurant think twice, and anything you choose DEMO, DEMO, DEMO.
If you do settle on Lightspeed, I would get all of your requirements or a list of things your rep has told you the system will do in writing and get a contract signed because they are probably misleading you just as I was.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere (Revel, Touchbistro, RM POS, Aloha, Micros)

Retail POS System
We are looking forward to opening new locations and integrating collected information and being able to share with new stores.
Vorteile
Very easy to learn initially - even though I was not a Mac user - it integrated very well and is simple to use.
It was user friendly and easy to make changes or upgrades. Lightspeed help has always been right there for me when ever I had a question or problem. Fixing any problems as soon as possible.
All Register functions are super simple.
Nachteile
Some of the Inventory data is not always in a format that is to share with other users. Specifically some of the roll up reports. It would be helpful to have a "training mode" to put the system into in order to register train.

Excellent Customer Service, Reporting Options Useful for Large Consignment Model Business
I own Homespun, a boutique in Indianapolis that primarily sells the handmade goods of artists and makers from across the U.S. We largely work on consignment with our artists and have struggled to find a POS system that provides the right combination of reporting functions and inventory options to ease the cumbersome nature of the consignment model, particularly the month-to-month payouts after product sales have been made. We have been in business for almost seven years now and have been using another Mac desktop-based software that entire time. The former system served its purpose for the duration well enough, but we've expanded the shop square footage, increased inventory significantly, added more employees and are planning to add a web store very soon. It was time to upgrade. So, we switched to the Lightspeed online POS for retail and it has been AMAZING. The customer service alone is worth the change. We've had a few small hitches here and there in getting the inventory migrated to the new system and some of the hardware components set up, but the customer service is available 24/7 and is so friendly, patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. The customer service with our last system was more or less nonexistent, so this is a very welcome change. In addition to the great customer service, all of the reporting features I need are there, which is making running a large consignment business much easier. We are very happy with Lightspeed.

Great Service and an Evolving System
We have streamlined our online sales along with or physical inventory and it has really freed up time for us to be able to explore other avenues of revenue. All while giving our guys out the field a better grasp on what's in the store and easy access to stock and price information.

We are a unique business that operates like a retail store but also does contracted work. it was hard to find something that could handle this, albeit it's not perfect but for this combination, it is better than anything we've found

Over the years we have found things we don;t like but things are "fixable" or have a "workaround". this is were Lightspeed's customer service is great, providing you with avenues to further customize their software

I have had a wonderful overall experience with Lightspeed! I would highly recommend it for any retail business!

I have been using Lightspeed for several years now in my retail business. The support I receive is fast, consistent and extremely helpful! The software is flawless and easy to use but when you do get into a pinch, you are just a chat or phone call away from help. Even my account executive, Jeremy, is always there for me. He checks in, sends me emails for updates and add ons, and makes sure I have the best team for any training I need!
Nachteile
Unfortunately, this system is not the cheapest in the market, but well worth the investment. I cannot imagine using a different POS system.

Lightspeed Retail and eCom
All together, I have had a very positive experience with Lightspeed. I'm learning more every day about how to creatively apply its features to my ability to promote and track sales.
Vorteile
What I like most about Lightspeed is the integration between the retail POS and the online catalog. It feels seemless. I really love our ability to manage inventory through spreadsheet imports and exports. The website feature gives us a very professional look and functionality to online sales.
Nachteile
I would love to see some text/informational/marketing pages added to the template to give those pages more polish. We can use html and css to configure the page ourselves, but custom code cannot be supported by their tech support.

Great POS
We can now track our inventory efficiently, any time we have had an issue the customer service team handles it quickly. Overall this is a great system for our store.

I think a feature that could be added would be a text option to existing customers. When new products are added to Lightspeed it would be great to get an email with all the new features.

LIGHTSPEED IS GREAT
Lightspeed honestly is great, you wont be dissapointed! I've been using it since day 1 of the store and have not had reason to complain. They are always responsive to any sort of needs. Typically it is something on my end, browser update, IP address changes, etc... Many things I have been able to do once Ive watched them. Phone help is qiuck and respectful
I would highly recommend!

Best POS System
This is my third POS system and the best one I have used. I would not switch again to a new POS system after using this. I love that I can work remotely with this software and be in touch with my store without being physically present. It has amazing 24-hour assistance and access. Furthermore, I think it is super user-friendly and very easy to use and navigate. Wish I had made the switch years ago!

Nachteile
In the tag section, when entering an item, it won't allow you to add any decimal points or special characters. Example: If I want to tag a rug that is 2.5 inches, it shows as 2x5 and won't let me show the decimal. This is a super easy fix and not a huge complaint, the tag section overall is very helpful.

IT SUCKS STARTING UP. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO HELP!!!!

Customer Service is HORRIBLE. If you are new to POS in general & need help. You are waiting on hold for hours. You have a rep but they NEVER answer the phone. I have two different reps for help. You email them and you constantly get out of the office replies. I try to the online chat & there are 59 people in front of me. So I am on hold and waiting for chat to see which one answers first. I sign up for training. They ask what I would like help on & they say you only have an hour. We dont have enough time to go over all that. I still do not have all my equipment to set up a register. I cant get a tracking number for the rest of my equipment. I cant get a hold any one in billing. The whole start up process is a disaster.

The Best POS for Niche Entrepreneurs and Businesses!
Lightspeed came to the rescue when our antiquated, old, no-longer-supported and dying POS system was on the fritz and costing us dearly. They worked with us on implementation and migrating to the new system. They worked with us on payments so that the sticker shock hurt a little less. And when I say they worked with us, I mean they worked with possibly the highest maintenance customer they have ever had. We're an old company that moves slowly and tends to be extremely "cautious" of new technology. Lightspeed was patient. They never pushed, got frustrated, or stopped calling to check on how we were coming. They did several product demos, training sessions, and have spent countless hours on the phone with us helping us get the software and hardware setup and working. They have been with us every step of the way and we now have the POS system of our dreams!
Vorteile
It is very in depth and detailed. There are so many functions and fields for data entry, recording, and tracking. It's in the cloud! No backups! Clean and simple, yet so powerful! Technical support is AAA+++! They're the bomb! Can't believe we tried anything else first.
Nachteile
It is a bit involved for setup and some may consider it "expensive." All I'll say is that you get what you pay for. For every con, other POS have two or three. And for every con, Lightspeed has a workaround.

I'll Be A Lightspeed Lifer
Our phone repair shop has used Lightspeed from the start. We need the ability to create work orders as well as manage inventory and sales, all of which Lightspeed covers. We're extremely happy with the support we receive whenever we're having trouble with the printers or other browser issues. The reps are always competent and willing to remotely fix my problems so I can get back to work quickly! The fact that it's cloud based has made it super convenient for me to run my business and look at reports wherever I am.

My overall experience with lightspeed has been great. I love that as my business expands Lightspeed has made it seamless. Everyone at Lightspeed has been wonderful in helping me with all and any questions that my team or myself might have.

Lightspeed is very user friendly, Training is made very simple. The reports are easy to run from anywhere. The customer service has been great and Lightspeed is always working on making new improvements. I also use Lightspeed ecomm which has been a lifesaver during covid.

The only feature I would really like to see is an auto-ship / auto-order feature on Lightspeed ecomm.

Best cloud based POS for a FAST growing retail business
After many years of running Lightspeed, I am STILL impressed with the product.
Lightspeed support is BY FAR the best support system I have ever experienced (with any technology!). Because Lightspeed cloud has such amazing support, it has now become standard procedure for all of our staff members to reach out directly to them with any questions or issues, no matter how big or small. Their support is so comprehensive that I have not had to hire an IT consultant in years and managers can now leave the store without feeling anxious since any employee can call support and get us back on track.
Here is what makes their support so great: They are based in North America!!! (we all know how valuable that is!). They answer the phone 24/7. They answer the phone in less than 10 minutes, usually in less than 5. They will call you back immediately. They will patiently guide even the most novice user through detailed procedures. You can actually speak to, and/or email the same person. This person will follow your case through until it is RESOLVED, even difficult issues are resolved in a matter of hours. Rarely does a support issue get held over until the next day. They are actually polite, and easy to talk to.They really seem to care about your business and will even sometimes do things outside of their scope in order to get you on track. There is no single support department ANYWHERE that does all this.
Lightspeed was the ONLY cloud based system I could find that could handle tens of thousands of ever changing SKUs with ease. I run a 6,500 square foot pet store, a 1,500 square foot warehouse, four busy check out counters and have 20 daily users. I have yet to be frustrated by this system that runs our business. I actually consider our store "lucky" to have found a POS system that works for us. Most store owners never find their match.

Excellent phone support
Opened a bicycle shop in March of 2015. No prior retail experience, avid cyclist. A venture with my son. For 2015 we did not have a POS system. Signed up with Lightspeed in Nov/Dec 2015 and had the system up and running by January 2016. The phone support has been outstanding … sometimes long wait times for the next available agent (solution, get up early and call at 5:00am or call late at night—they are truly 24/7) BUT the agent’s are knowledgeable and helpful, have found that they will take the time to work through whatever questions we have — they are not on some turn around clock where they have to get you off the phone. This is a Canadian company based out of Montreal … I have never experienced any English language issues and that is a major plus.
I am unable to say that Lightspeed has a better program than other POS providers–in the retail bicycle world Trek offers a system that is very, very expensive by comparison. The benefits of a POS system make the day to day operation of our shop go much more smoothly. I sometimes wonder how retailers managed prior to when the wizards of smart created the bar code scanner and the computer software to run these systems.

It makes the day to day operation of a retail bicycle shop manageable. Did not have prior retail experience, did not have a POS system for 1st year of operation and Lightspeed reduced the headaches.
Nachteile
Really have nothing negative to say. Do not have hands on experience with other POS providers. There was a brief time when the system was not able retrieve some historical data. I talked to Lightspeed and the issue got resolved and has not resurfaced

Great POS System for Small Businesses
Vorteile
This POS system is really simple to use, and very effective. I like the program interface, it works very well with the iPad we use it with. The best part is the customer service, they are readily available, and very knowledgeable.

Lightspeed at Lobos Coffee
I'm in the customer service business and having the ability to call [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been a great asset when starting a business. He's made all the difference in the world having Lightspeed.
Vorteile
Lightspeed is easy to use and easy setup. It a very cost-effective system as I looked at multiple system. They have added on options that help with online order (which I have not activated yet, but I plan to).
Nachteile
I would like to be able to customize live reports. Ex. compare hour by hour from last week to this week. Or be able to compare trends from week to week on sale and customer volume.
