When you start to develop more complex projects, sometimes using multiple languages of code at the same time, NetBeans is not the best tool and becomes obsolete.

Vorteile

I used NetBeans for years and I used it for developing PHP Applications I would say it is one of the best and complete IDEs available for PHP Development. It is really easy to configure different tools like terminal, debugging etc.

Nachteile

I don't have many issues with using NetBeans but initial configuration can be difficult but once you have configured everything then you are good to go for years

It is really painful sometimes while waiting for it to load, it loads lots of libraries to make the development smooth and highly interactive but in the meantime this induces lot of RAM capturing and bandwidth utilisation by this IDE.

This is almost similar to Eclipse IDE. I liked how it merged with various components like hibernate and lot of other financial tools.

There was an issue with our application not being stable. Our entire team faced this problem ultimately it was decided to get different framework altogether.

NetBeans have an easy to understand GUI for learning. If we need to add more extensions for gui customization it support that feature too. We can open multiple projects to the window and we can easily navigate with them using the navigation panel. Its very easy to complie the program and it has auto compilation too. If we need to find and replace something in the code netbeans have a good feature to easily replace the all items we need to replace at one time. Another feature I mostly like, it is available for almost all the popular operating systems. Other than java netbeans support more languages for using through it.

Nachteile

It take a little bit more time and the netbeans IDE cost more ram when using. Its better to add more themes built in such as a dark theme.

What I most support about this software is that during the years that I have used it I have felt extremely comfortable, despite having programming knowledge, there are other software in which I have not been able to feel as good as this, it is very easy to use and friendly for newbies.
It can also be used on many operating systems.

Compared to the competition, compiling the code becomes a bit tedious, it is slow.
The code import option is very limited and the debugger is less efficient.
These were the two points that affected me when using it.

First thing is that Apache NetBeans is a free software and it is available on Windows, Linux and Mac. So it is very convenient for students to use it. Netbeans also support multiple languages other than Java like PHP, C, C++, HTML and etc. Also we can add extension to customize the IDE as we wanted and add more supportive tools. When we need to create a GUI using Java it support GUI creating tool that helps a lot when creating them rather than creating GUI using codes. NetBeans have features like auto code completion, find and replace parts of the code and etc.

Nachteile

If it consume less resources and if it has ability to launch quickly NetBeans will be more popular. Default IDE is not very interesting.

Very easy to develop code with that IDE because when coding it will auto-generate the lot of coding parts so that developer time will be saved, I use it to create web applications mostly it 's the best environment to do such kind of things.

There are few things to mention, the user interface should be more user-friendly some time it processing time getting slow.

I like a lot about this IDE some of them involves drag and drop functionality for java desktop application developments. It has inbuilt glassfish server which helps to deploy a web application for java. It has auto complete functionality for JavaScript as well which is comforting.

Nachteile

Things which i do not like about this IDE is that we can not deploy it until we have JDK of similar version as NetBeans otherwise it would not work. sometimes it sows us notifications of errors which have been resolved already which is a bit annoying.

What I love about Apache's NetBeans is that it makes it easy to write simple or complex code using any programming language. The software is smart enough that off of one letter or word, it can help you auto complete what you may want to write. Say for example if you want to do a print line, if you write System it could auto complete to System.Out.Println("");. While this may sound annoying, it saves a lot of time when it comes to writing thousands of lines of code.

Nachteile

What I like least about NetBeans is that it can take awhile to load when your storage is low and takes up a good amount of space. Also, while the software has many advanced tools/functionality, it takes some learning and getting used to it before you can use it right away.

It is very easy to install and free open source platform.

Main advatange is runs on Windows, macOS etc. and it also suports other programming languages also.

I don't really have much negatives to come with but at times it takes long time to load and also covers lot of memory.
And I suggest that it need to improve with custom formatting so that codes can be edited. Otherwise it is one of the best platform for java development.

Before switch to a more recent IDE, I used NetBeans in a daily basis. I was very found of several features like:
- Integration with local PHP and documentation
- All functions and classes can be found easily in a project
- GIT integration (diff, conflict, etc)

Nachteile

There is one main con with Netbeans : it's slowness. That is the main reason of whyy I have switched to used another IDE. It can takes several minutes to open a big project.

* It's easy to download. You can download and use it immediately.
* Easy to learn. You can develop Java, PHP, Javascript and many applications by using that software.
* There are also paid plugins but even free plugins are enough to make development.

* Some plugins are really necessary such like some Maven / Git plugins but somehow we need to pay to enabled them.
* IDE freezes if it's a big project.I think Netbeans is not suitable for big projects.I always receive heap space exception and try to increase the heap space to fix that problem.

First of all, it is a free plateform. You can use this IDE for coding in multiple languages. There are a lots of features such as GUI is so easy to build you just have to drag and drop. You can make UML diagrams using one click too.

Well it has a friendly UI with all options nicely organised. The learning of this IDE is actually really simple and behaves just fine. It is mainly focused to Java, but you can use it with C++, PHP, Java, Python and some more languages, so as said, for beginners that want to avoid having an IDE for each language, it is just fine.

It will eat your RAM, and with some frameworks won't work properly. Personally I've experienced problems with Symfony for PHP and Django using the Python plugin. Sometimes I miss some feature, but can be workarounded with the console.

Absolute waste of time. I have unfortunately enough been forced to learn through Netbeans and can honestly advise any willing soul to listen not to install it.

Implementation and use is simple; perfectly defining the application. It is not efficient, good, or useful. It is simple and takes away 95% of the power that java code has and utilises.

This software, in my opinion, is comparable to a middle - early highschool level, basic drag and drop features with locked source code that you cannot experiment or adjust.

Support for this app is terrible compared to other IDEs. There are approximately 200-1000 search queries on Github and Stackoverflow with MAYBE 1 or 2 somewhat applicable answers coming in months after the question is posed.

Highly highly recommend anyone and everyone to install another IDE, or let your soul die whilst using this one.

It just works, out of the box it’s the best Java experience I’ve had, no hassles on any configuration!
For learning the language while it not being too heavy on the system it’s something I really enjoyed while using it. It also has a debugger which isn’t frustating to use, has other IDE’s have.

It is a good IDE for developing JAVA. I used it for developing Webservices working with Apache Tomcat. I also developed software with JavaFX that has a very good UI supporting CSS. It is good for very beginners as it has a software package installer that does almost everything for you such as installing Tomcat and etc. Last but not least, it has access to all javaDocs of java editions that helps you use new functions and classes easily.

Nachteile

It was very slow from the initialization to runtime using. The auto-complete feature for suggesting functions and classes is as much slow as it limits our coding speed. Also, your PC or Laptop always feels running a heavy game during its runtime and I did not like it at all.

Despite the fact that it is open-source, NetBeans seems very powerful like a proprietary product when I use it. The software has a lot of rich programming features (the debugger and error highlighters) and they all come without a price.

I have never like setting up IDEs in a console environment, even if it is just to write a simple "Hello World!" snippet. The fact that the present NetBeans owned by Apache requires some form of console config, turned me off the product.
