If you have to create an accurate and striking presentation for your clients or company, it is easy to create a file and fill it with the information of your preference, it has templates that you can adapt the colors you want depending on what is going to be used, the typefaces what they have are depends on what you have on your computer. It lets you upload images, videos, audio, to complement your presentation. If you are a designer, or you have a notion of that area, you can create the template yourself, use it as a theme that does not change, and give a more personal touch to your template.
The transitions and annotations that it provides give you a plus of professionalism that draws the attention of people, you can time when the sheets are passed for more synchrony.

My biggest problem is that if the photos are heavy, the file weighs a lot when finished, there is no way to compress that file, if it is recorded in pdf it also weighs a lot, and it is not easy to send or share it.
It has many applications that many people do not know. The icons should be more specific and have tutorials to know all their utilities.

This is my go to program for any kind of final doc I need to present to a client, because I'm no longer in the design world and programs like Adobe Illustrator have so many features I get overwhelmed. PowerPoint has enough features for font/design and actual presentations like animation and embedded players that I look incredibly professional without having to outsource the work of designing the final presentations or documents.

The new version has a default that picks a wide screen slide size as the main format. I use this the most these days for a final report to clients that they'll print off on regular A4 or 8.5"x11" paper, so I always have to go in and change the size as my first step. Although I know I can create a PPT template for future use and not have to do that anymore!

Even though it is not a tool to design, I believe that the results that can be achieved are great. In the company we have a product developed for internal communications that is published through digital billboards (TV) and PowerPoint is where we create the templates. The results in communicational terms have been quite favorable. The internal audience likes them a lot, they identify with the content.

Some of the characteristics that allow this to be possible: Opportunity to present texts, images and even videos, in a coordinated way. It can be projected on large screens, giving it a very professional appearance, it does not need an Internet connection and it is also a file, which if it works properly, weighs little.

One aspect that may be a problem is the lack of knowledge about the use of the tool. However there are thousands of tutorials on the Internet that can solve that. The other thing is the indiscriminate use of effects. That can damage the purpose of the work or distract the audience and confuse it.

Before creating your PP presentation, you should now that there are different built-in themes and templates you can choose from to start designing your slide show. However, you can also decide to entirely set up your presentation by yourself starting from blank slides.

Whatever is your choice, you can be sure that you could do almost anything you need by browsing the drop down menus on the status bar.

Personally, I always used PowerPoint through its normal view, which includes three panes that let me do all the essential activities required to create my presentations. It is composed of the slide pane, at the center of PowerPoint window, the slide pane on the left side and the note one on the bottom. On the first pane, you can easily insert text boxes, images, charts, cliparts, and many more in just a few clicks. You can organize and place the elements by dragging and dropping them with your mouse. The slide pane offers the possibility to easily create, move and sort the slides. The note box is useful to contain personal reminders. You might also need to add speakers notes on each slide and freely decide to print them or not.

Once your slide show has been set up, including nice animations effects, PowerPoint offers the possibility to test it using the presentation preview option.

Among thousands of positive features that PowerPoint has for my work environment, I could list the most important ones: A very clean and radiant presentation, where you can present analysis data in a solid and quite pleasing to the eye. Many tools to nourish the document, generating more inputs to the public, the assistants and the heads to understand the information that is transmitted. It has happened to me that when we acquired the new Powerpoint update, the programming of the software changes and we have to re-educate ourselves in the use of the same software but with changes that are sometimes radical

I've seen amazing animations, whiteboard video clips, killer proposals, and more come from the depth of Powerpoint. When one of my largest international clients needed a new sales presentation, I used Powerpoint to create a sales slideshow that's traveled from here to Asia and back again.

Where do I begin? Start with the Master views (Slide, Handouts and Notes Master) each of which serves very specific and obvious needs in designing a quality presentation. The options for transitions and animations were kicked up a notch with the introduction of Morph in 2016.

Training or showcasing something digital? The screen recording feature is pretty solid. And Zoom for Powerpoint is another new feature (2016) - you really have to play with this option to get a good feel for what it can do for your presentations.

Don't let the sad-sap, back-to-the-past themes deter you from using Powerpoint. Get creative, build your own design (or get a designer to assist you), the professional features are worth the effort.

So many people under-use Powerpoint that it often gets a bad rap. If you're not using an add-in, you're doing it wrong.

Also, word out to Microsoft - can you please, please, please, upgrade the templates from 2003. I mean perhaps before we reach 2023? I did say please.

Seriously, those standard templates are dragging your image down. Design has come a long way since then. Just saying.

I really like the broad selection of templates PowerPoint offers - there is always one that suits the slides I am making. I like the ease of integrating charts, graphs and other data graphics, and how animations can be so easily used to increase their visibility and impact. Office 365 was amazing for PowerPoint in allowing it to become a software we could use as a team, all editing simultaneously. It's a great software and I always encourage colleagues to use it instead of sheets - I just find PowerPoint so easy to use. The ease of offline editing is great, it allows me to work on slides while in the underground train.

Nachteile

Initially, that it had to be paid for and that it was difficult to use with Apple laptops. Now with the app and availability through Office 365, that is resolved. I find it slightly annoying how my formatting changes when I switch templates and I find it really difficult to include videos in slideshows, but overall it's excellent.

Since I work with many clients in the corporate world - one of the best way to communicate visual ideas that I will eventually flush out and build in my development tool is to make a MVP (minimally viable candidate) in a universal tool like PowerPoint. The fact that all levels of computer user can visually slap their ideas on multiple ideas on PowerPoint slides and then manipulate the order of each idea makes it both a storyboarding tool and a mindmapping tool.

Nachteile

It really could use a better way to deal with layers better. You end up with overlapping elements in complicated layouts and the addition of a layers panel to lock and show/hide elements would be very beneficial as you end up inadvertently moving items.

I believe it is the more advanced solution to make presentation in the market right now, with a lot of options with animations, templates, extra content. I specially like the latest features suggesting how to organise the content in each slide.

The presentations can become too heavy depending on the template and it is easy a presentation can reach 100MB, very difficult to share. Templates should be compress as much as possible to reduce the size of the file. The overall cost of the Office Suite is too high for an individual. I believe most of the user are coming from a business environment.

PowerPoint offers an array of valuable features that have been growing for many years. I have always preferred PowerPoint over any other presentation tool and I think that this software is still the most robust while still providing a high degree of usability.

I've used PowerPoint for over 20 years, but now with tablets and finally slick graphics tools, the latest version in Office 365 (2019) feels like the one graphics package you really need.
For starters, they've really improved animations with features like Section Zoom (try it out) and the new Morph transition. Then, the ability to export movies in 4k means that you can use PPT to make incredibly high-resolution videos for a ton of different purposes. I also really like using PowerPoint on my Microsoft Surface Pro with the ability to annotate with hand-written notes, which is really effective during a live presentation. Coupled with the recording capability (the sound can be excellent if you have a good mic), you're all set!

Nachteile

I feel like the Mac version hasn't caught up yet. That's such a shame, because Keynote remains a really potent competitor on the Mac, so you'd think they would invest more in that platform.

It is straightforward and easy to use. There's lots of options for creating a slideshow presentation. There's also lots of options for saving a presentation. You can even save it as JPEG if you wish. You can add animations and transitions to add more organic energy to your presentations. Above all else, i't relatively simple, and somewhat easy to use.

Nachteile

If you have, say, 20 slides in one presentation or so, then performance will slow quite a bit. With there being lots of customization options, it's easy to feel a bit overwhelmed when planning a presentation for the first time. Also, PowerPoint doesn't support original graphics. Some of the advanced features are also harder to find and/or use and the icons sometimes don't indicate what each icon does or represents.

Best thing is its powered by Microsoft. Without basic knowledge, anyone can use this application. I think this application is the most widely used Presentation maker. This application has more functions. And we can save files into directly to one drive. And in new Office packages, we can log in into our Microsoft account through the Application. One best thing in this package is it's very easy to add animations to items in the slide. Another Special thing in this application is we can import many file types as it is. I did not get any problem with this application. I use this application since I am a student. It is user-friendly and highly customizable. One thing I know is without updates and the internet there are no applications which are running smoothly. Microsoft office package is somekind of heavy collection of Apps.

PowerPoint is one of those software that has received an undeserved poor reputation in the market with the phrase "death by PowerPoint". I think that it deserves to be lauded as one of the most adaptable & functional analytics & communication software packages there is. I absolutely love the ability to embed MS Excel files, graphs and even videos into PowerPoint slides to make the presentation come alive.

I cannot say that there is anything that I like least or dislike about PowerPoint. I have found it to be a most useful tool with which to communicate a clear, concise message to my audience from all layers of management including shop-floor employees. PowerPoint's animation tools are what I have found most useful for creating effective presentations. Presenting technical content to general audiences is always challenging, and effectively building up presentation slides using PowerPoint's animation settings helps to guide listeners.

Another useful feature that has finally made its way to PowerPoint is the ability to easily move and adjust very small shapes, such as circles or squares. Before it could be very difficult to select the object you wanted to move if it was too small or too close to a neighboring object. PowerPoint now presents a smaller "pointer" that's offset from the actual object, allowing you to move and reposition it fairly easily.

While the animation tools are useful, the "animation pane" displaying the sequence of animations is sometimes not very friendly when you have 20 or more animations. Overall this system could be more streamlined to reduce the time it takes to build up a slide, and it would be nice to see a greater variety of animations.

I have used MS Power Point for almost every presentation i have done through out my studies and the best thing I like about this software is it's user friendliness and the built in functionalities it has. It's built in layouts, use of Smart Arts, Built in Themes have been really helpful for me when creating quick presentations. Also, It's portability in which we could save the presentation and could be used in any other computer with Power Point installed was a great advantage. Furthermore, it's availability in viewing in even mobile phones has also been useful for me as i have been able to view slides, lecture notes even when travelling by train which has saved my time immensely.

Nachteile

The one problem that i have encountered using this software was that some older versions would not support features of the newer versions. For example if we create a presenation in a latest version of the software using new features and when you save it and open it in an older version of Power Point, some features and animations might not work (this happens more in Mac OS).

Even for beginners, this software is very easy to use, moreover, nowadays, there are many tutorials that can be found on youtube or on the online support of Microsoft

There is a great diversity in the animations and we can now animate images.
Being able to draw or record your screen is really a plus on the new versions, it can really help on various projects.

The fact that there are more and more animations is a real plus for presentation when you are a student
The company also relies on the fact that students need software for their studies and have therefore created a student version that is less expensive, this is a real plus!

Nachteile

Unfortunately, the price is still quite high compared to other competitors like Open Office or Google slides which are free.

Often, the company doesn't give enough advice on how to use the software and that's a shame! (better tutorials can be found on Youtube!)

Some features of the software are not highlighted enough and are not detailed in the Microsoft tutorials so you have to search a long time to find an answer.

So I use a combination of PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides in a variety of contexts, but for business presentations, in my experience, PowerPoint is really the gold standard. Because of the ubiquity of the Windows and the fact that at times internet connectivity might not work well in conference centers and other presentation venues, PowerPoint is the default. Microsoft has come a really long way with their tools and layout abilities and while it may not be quite as user friendly to the presentation designer as Keynote is, for example, the feature set and available plugins are probably the best of the big company presentation software products.

To me the feature set can be cumbersome to use, mainly because there are so many features and customizing some of the template like features can be an exercise in futility. I guess there's a tradeoff between packing so much into a product and still making it easier to use. I think Keynote is a much more user friendly program, but PowerPoint is the safe bet in many business environments. If I'm on the road doing presentations, I'm pretty much always using PowerPoint.

It seems like most PC users love to use PowerPoint for presentation. I have dealt with many clients in corporations and they all use PowerPoint for presentation, but also just as a notepad to communicate their concept and comments. This program can be used for many purposes such as slideshow etc. PowerPoint offers a Slide Master section where I could set up the basic templates designs for my clients. The user interface has got much better, comparing to a decade ago for me. I use Adobe software mainly, but for clients, PowerPoint is very common and a must-have program. The program offers neat transitions and animations. The users just have to learn how to use them properly and it could enhance the presentation to the next level. Chart feature is very cool as it works with Excel. You can Google PowerPoint templates and the examples can be very impressive.

As I'm used to using Adobe software, often I feel that PowerPoint's User Interface is limited and not that smooth. Shortcut keys are very limited and I don't think it can be customized. Certain styling in Master Page doesn't make sense or consistent. Ruler/Guides are not that easy to use. I wish they will come up with the ​better way of dealing with layers.

This is an extremely versatile tool that easily and intuitively gives professional appearance to any presentation. Layout of images, text, and slides is very easy. Compression of files is easy, and can export to a variety of formats.

Nachteile

My cons are picky but here is a list:

Gant charts are hard to make. Jog lines aren't very controllable and difficult to connect, or merge inconveniently. This is also often an issue for me when I make electrical system diagrams, which I use PowerPoint for often.

Miss being able to make picture % transparent (without artistic effects. Don't like how some tabs (like picture Format) disappear unless image is selected. I find myself hunting in through tab in the window that pops up for Format Picture.

New "Design Ideas" have great suggestions but I have trouble then continuing the schemes to other slides, especially when no design is detected.

Formatting background or themes isn't intuitive, if I wanted to copy one to another sheet (without copying the whole sheet), and apply changes to multiple at once.

I use PowerPoint weekly for classroom lectures and conference presentations. It is so intuitive. I have easily discovered and implemented so many nuances in the program without having to seek tech support and that is such a time saver. The new video embedding capabilities and fresh transition options allow me more creativity and modernity, which is essential to keep up with best practices in the classroom.

There are myriad layers of function that you can utilize depending on your needs. I particularly appreciate the "embed font" feature. I use a variety of decorative, imported typefaces and it preserves their integrity across the many different computers I use on campus. I also love to use the "create handout" feature to make talk notes. It allows you to export your slides and notes into a table in Word and see them side-by-side with multiple slides per page. You can manipulate the table and font size to suit your needs.

Nachteile

I do wish that the photo editing options were more robust. I'd like the ability to manipulate images (e.g. "erase" features/objects) right in the program instead of having to go out to a photo editor and then drag the image back on to the slide.

Easily to teach. One of the most strengths is the generalization of the knowledge. When a user learn one of the program of the Microsoft office suite, can use this knowledge in the others. It Just need to adjust the kind of software. And, with minimal desing knowledge and helped by the templates, anybody who knows what want to expose, can express in a perfect way their ideas.
My students always suprise me with beatiful presentations and they need minimal instructions to do it. I teach novelties and tricks that help them to take the sotware most advantage

I think Microsoft lags behind in design innovations and spectacularity in presentations that other manufacturers do consider. For example, I also teach Prezi and when students use it, they don't want to use Power Point again only those who are less fond of ICT continue to use it.
It is true that the latest version of Power Point has very attractive designs, but I have the feeling that they are late, that when they enter the market the people have been changed to other software that is more attractive and sometimes easier to use.

What I liked most about power point is its versatility and functionality. It's perfect for a high school presentation or a corporate business meeting. The level of simplicity is great for grade school students and those not as tech savvy, but the amount of detail that can be added makes it great for professionals.

Even tech-savvy individuals can encounter presentation issues when it comes to technology especially when it doesn’t work as one may want it to. Maybe the computer freezes. Or the battery on your tablet dies. The sound effects you spent so much time on may be delayed. Issue like this can negatively affect the first impression of a presentation almost immediately.

It is very easy to use. I never worry about mistakes I have made to a presentation because they are always simple to fix.

I wish there were more built-in templates. Canva has a lot more, but it is too difficult to figure out cost/benefit. I would like to see PPT add more templates - it seems it has been quite a long time.

Like all other softwares , PowerPoint has its aberrations. For those unfamiliar with visual presentation software, it may take time to learn how to use this software. Its not best suitable for creation of original arts or illustrations. Where original graphics is needed you will have to create them with other softwares before importing them into PowerPoint.

The software is self explanatory and does not require you to go through an entire manual or tutorial to use. If you get stumped, the help feature is easy to navigate to find your answers. The preset templates quickly make your presentations presentable and professional so you can focus on your content. Comes with all the features you use with Microsoft Word, so if you know how to use that you will find this software just as intuitive.

Nachteile

Opening documents on different versions of PowerPoint can make the font, spacing, and inserts misaligned. Sometimes it takes more effort to fix these things rather than just recreate the presentation in the new/different version of PowerPoint.

it feels like everyone knows about powerpoint based on how long it has been around. But using it as part of the office 365 suite and powered with OneDrive makes creating, saving and presenting slideshows easier and more professional than ever.

There is a new feature I discovered called: 'design suggestions' which helps decide what type of slide (based on your theme) is best presentation format based on the content on your slide. There are many options which really give the power to the creator for look and feel, at the click of a button.

For creating slideshow presentations you can't go wrong with powerpoint

sometimes you work on a powerpoint and then the computer you are presenting on doesn't have the same version of powerpoint. This can negatively impact the look and feel of your slides, but that is why I recommend using OneDrive, as the web version of powerpoint can be used for presentation (even if the editor is not as slick or easy to use as desktop editor) It still provides a way to present your slides unblemished on a foreign computer which may not have powerpoint installed.

Powerpoint is easy to get into using from the start. You can quickly get to a point where you can create things graphically at a basic level. However there is far more that can be done with it, and the path to becoming a power user is available and opens whole new worlds of possibility.

The only problem I have had with this product is that it take up a lot of space on a computer but it's the greatest space ever so it doesn't even matter it's so hard to find anything bad I love this, use it daily and it made me ace hundreds of projects in my school career

Powerpoint for me is one of the most easiest software to use for presentation, apart from the fact that it can be used virtually anywhere, it makes presentations more interesting. When it comes to the use of powerpoint unlike some software, it gives you the flexibility and that creativity to customize it to what suits you as a user when preparing your slides.
It is also affordable and one of the most used software for presentation for professionals.

Nachteile

Powerpoint in most cases are seen as alternatives to good contents that should complement the software a lot of people get carried away with the display and aesthetics of the presentation without focussing on the depth of the message in it.
Integration and interoperability with other application could be a challenge when preparing your presentation may arise. At times too, it could be challenging to navigate some functions due to technical issues such power outage and software update.

Vorteile

With this tool we can outline and organize our ideas or information to be presented to other people and that they can understand the information efficiently, through graphics, diagrams, mental maps and many other features included. Finally, in a few slides you can synthesize a lot of relevant information and be presented to any type of audience.

Nachteile

We must bear in mind that to reproduce a presentation, in another pc different from where it was created, I could have format and quality problems due to different versions of the sowftware. It is also not possible to play presentations in an environment without Power Ponit installed.

Since being a user of the software for over 10years, I have nothing to complain about it. In-fact, its the most inexpensive software that anyone could afford to use with little to vey good knowledge on how to use the spftware.

As the name suggests it have the points power. I am using this from the office 2003 version, from college presentation to business presentation. Easy to use easy to creat and manage, Present the ideas etc. Over all best thing.

The best part of PowerPoint presentation is the ease of use. It is very easy to just drag and drop pre-built designs, animations, smart arts, etc.
It makes your content look good and more readable through apt graphs and pictures.
The Smart - Art has variety of designs to suit all kind of needs.
You can use their clip art, pictures as well very easily insert your own pictures saved anywhere in your computer/laptop.
You can also use the animations tool and charm your viewers by your presentation skills.

I would definitely love more new age templates.
Also, at times when you add too many animations, the presentation slides keep crashing.

PowerPoint has been around forever. It is easy to navigate. Professional presentations are easy with the built in templates and features. It is an industry standard. All other presentation software is a imitation of PowerPoint.

Nachteile

The only con is the cost. most work and school settings have purchased the license. On a personal level, I've found that I can do most of what PowerPoint can do with OpenOffice or Google Docs. Most... not everything. Which still makes PowerPoint the industry standard.

PowerPoint is one of those software programs that understands me. I frequently create documents for all of my jobs, and this program makes it SO easy! I can create a file with the various elements in it evenly spaced, and it even provides the option to view invisible gridlines for accuracy. Even better-PowerPoint allows you to save your files into a plethora of file sources.

Nachteile

The only major factor that I dislike (but can completely look past) is when I am trying to embed videos and/or sound files. If the file is not on the computer that the file was sent to... no sound or video. This is the only thing that programs like Google Slides have PowerPoint beat on.

This software allows us to create not only presentations, but TONS of marketing materials to use across all of our advertising campaigns (including social media and printed materials). The templates included in the software are great starters for any project.

The most frustrating part abotu this software is that you are unable to change the size of the area you are working. Other programs like Word or Publisher allow for the user to change the page size they are working on, but powerpoint only allows one size. Powerpoint has better functions and is easier to use than the other programs, but the size restriction makes it so the user can only make it for computer use.

It feels like Microsoft PowerPoint has always been part of our lives. The whole Microsoft office package really helps make life easier. With PowerPoint, you can easily create presentation from a lot of easy templates. It is easy to share within team. You can include new fonts and create new design. You can easily add pictures, videos, sound, effects. There are a lot of alternatives that came later on, on the market. But for something quick and nice: PowerPoint is the best.

Nachteile

It can easily become "messy" if you are not careful with design, but in general it's very easy to use. If you are not careful and work offline as well, it's possible to loose everything you are working on, but I guess it's so quick that normally you can add things quickly enough again.
