I use Contractor Foreman daily and understand the importance of needing a program that does what YOU need it do to. Contractor Foreman has helped me keep track of multiple projects and all of their individual aspects. I needed something to track payments to subcontractors that didn't require integration of our accounting software. This program is perfect for that.

Nachteile

There are a limited amount of templates, but you can make your own custom templates through the document writer.

Good software, has most things needed but an absolute pain in the ass as it keeps on crashing.

No communication of downtime.
No apology for crashing. No communication at all!

Being a new customer, contractor formeman was quick to schedule a walk-through and demonstration meeting so that we could hit the ground running. Although new to the software, I am excited to put it to work.

So far I have not seen anything that has been problematic. I would love a feature to make seperate estimate approvals and contract approvals.

The program is customizable and flexible to fit most companies' needs. In our case, CF is doing a great job at helping us track the progress of our projects. We have up to date data about the materials and labor used for each project which helps us better estimate future projects. We also like the client portal which helps us increase communication with our clients. CF has the essential tools to address most of our business' project management needs, and the value is the best.

Nachteile

CF is not as compatible with the Safari web browser as with the Chrome web browser, but CF is transparent with this on their website. In addition, we've experienced some small glitches on the app, but it works well enough to complete functions while on the job.

Very easy to navigate through the dashboard, from creating an estimate to invoicing is a smooth transition. We also love how they are always available to answer any questions. Great System.

The Projects tab helps you monitor and manage everything from scheduling resources to close out, and with the ability to customize the module to fit your style of management it truly makes it feel as though you and the technology are on the same page!

I’m hoping they will add a takeoff function to the software, this would just make it more robust and necessary to a contractor and subcontractors.

One of the most important things that we were looking for in job management software was a portal for our clients, so we could have a single space for our notes and theirs. Contractor Foreman exceeded my expectations in this area - Our clients LOVE it!

Nachteile

The only ask would be the ability to change the size of type within the program... ie: the menus, etc.

When we first started using it in 2019 it was easy to talk to customer service. In fact, the customer service was amazing!

Customer service is terrible. Spoke with multiple people during chat. Was told to email someone and never received a response. It has obviously become a bigger company but it's unfortunate that customer service was affected.

I have been trying to obtain assistance with QB integration and have sent over 7 separate requests to Contractor Foreman for help. I waited until after our trial period was up to attempt to set up the QB integration as I wanted to make sure we were going to proceed with the software before integrating. There is no support despite all my emails requesting assistance. We regret committing to the annual cost of the software. You will be flooded with emails offering support during your trial which is very misleading. Anticipate no help once you pay your premium.

I like the versatility of CF. I can use the mobile version to directly upload contacts onto the dashboard. My contractors can also use the mobile version to provide project status updates and upload photos. Additionally, whenever I have issues or questions, it's easy to get in touch with customer support.

Nachteile

CF has an option to provide suggestions on how to improve their system (which is great), but it would be nice if they followed up to let me know if they are actually working on implementing the suggestion.

I like the tabs at the top for navigation and how each tab can communicate with the others and that you don't have to input info multiple times, you can just import from other tabs.

What I liked least was that it was almost impossible to actually get started using the product. The only pleasant and professional and productive part of the process was the QuickBooks integration. My trainer for CF was really unhelpful and non responsive. Happy to waste my only four hours of free training.

With the many options it does require the effort to finalize how you want your format to work for you/company. Some are dual purpose but I will not say it is necessarily a con as you are able to build as you want

I like how easy the software is to use. Contractor foreman has great training options to get set up and using it quickly. The price is very reasonable with no upfront fees for set up. It’s honestly worth it just for it’s estimating tool.

There was no training on how all of the modules worked together, just on the modules individually in the videos. The customer support has been terrible I am just this week receiving responses to tickets sent in on Feb 10th, it is now the End of March. The customer service team always seemed to have the mindset that I was wrong and wouldn't fully read what I was telling them. Because of some bugs with the links to QBO we had progress invoices syncing over that were for full value rather than the percentage (This has been Fixed). There is something wrong with the link now that once it syncs over to QBO the values are changing. When completing work orders into invoices the fields would not properly fill out requiring lots of manual entry, we changed our workflow to not use those because of that so I have not checked to see if that has been fixed.

For me, I overall need a program that will let me Import a PO. Not from an Estimate, but an Import field. When I have 200 plus line items..it's easier to be able to import than manual entry of all items. Secondly, it'd be nice for the PO to update on qty's as I receive against the PO without having to rely on my employees in the field to enter all information into a Daily Log to show qty delivered.

The lack of a committed account manager that we can navigate best practices with. They have group sessions that do overviews, but then have to book a session to get into specifics. You're not always getting the same person so there's a continuity gap.
