As an apple device user iCloud works perfectly between devices, I've three on my desk right now all of which can easily access my shared files and folders. It's also perfect for photo back up and sharing. If you're a windows user however, its limited I feel.

Firstly, for what it is, it's expensive. Not to start with, but when you need the upgrades.

Right now I have 200 gig, it costs here in the UK £2.99. I could do with another 100/200 gigs as my storage is running low. However the next upgrade option is £8.99! Sure you get 2TB for that amount. But I don't need that. The leap between the two price points is too large. Which is why I use Microsoft Office instead. For way LESS than Apples £8.99 pm you get the full office suit of programs, PLUS online storage of 1 TB. It's a no brainer. So I use iCloud for photos, files and device backup. And OneDrive for my storage. Plus the bonus of Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

The best characteristics of iCloud are automated synchronization of files across multiple platforms (mobile, MacOS, and Windows). The synchronization works transparently on each platform and is a big boost to productivity.

iCloud works very well, is secure, and effective. It would be nice to access iCloud from a third-party party more traditional backup solution to have a redundant copy of artifacts. Being a proprietary service makes iCloud more secure but also introduces a single point of failure should something go wrong with the access or system.

It's simple and effective - I can have access to all my documents, photos, videos, to do lists etc. in one place. It runs smoothly and if you use MacOS you can also have access to files saved on your desktop without the need to physically move them to specific folder.

Nachteile

If i need to choose one - probably monthly payment but the price is not really that high, so i still think it's worth it.

I love how seamlessly I'm able to sync certain application data between my devices through iCloud. For example, I find it invaluable to be able to use the Notes app on my phone to jot down quick thoughts or ideas. Later on, I'm able to pull up these same notes on my laptop to take action on those thoughts or ideas, or organize them.

Nachteile

There are some settings enabled by iCloud by default that I find particularly unsavory. For instance, I do not want to sync my entire photo albums to iCloud. However, iCloud insists for you to do so. This is quite a nuisance, given that one would expect an application to not pester about such trivial things.

The pro of having iCloud you don’t have to add any additional apps to get more storage for your iPhone. Getting extra storage for your iPhone can be tricky for new iPhone users. They don’t understand want an iCloud does. Being a tech agent I get calls all day about storage.

The cons will be how much storage you may need. You get an average of 128gb and you are transferring your information from one phone that only had 64 gb and you use up all that 128gb how is that possible.

iCloud is so streamlined and there is almost no way that you can mess it ip. Everything goes into the cloud automatically. You never have to worry about dragging and dropping to certain folders. Not having to worry about space anymore is amazing.

The pop up reminders that you may need to buy new storage soon.

I love how easy it is to keep track of everything as well as keep it all together when you upgrade to a new phone it allows you to transfer it to your new one phone so quickly and with ease.

I use iCloud a lot. I love that it implements easily with personal things like iPhone photos, backups, etc... I also use it for some professional aspects. Documents and various other materials that I need to access regularly. iCloud makes accessing storage on the go very simple and safe.

My only complaint (which isn't even really a complaint), is that I wish there were slightly different visuals that could be used to even further organization within the cloud.

I don’t like that if you delete something on a device it deletes everywhere else and doesn’t retain it in the cloud. I wish it would let me store pictures in the cloud so if I delete something from my phone, it’s still backed up in the cloud.

iCloud est non sécuritaire. Mes documents financiers et confidentiels ont été supprimés de mon disque dur à une date et heure précise. Ils ne se retrouvent plus dans iCloud et les programmeurs de iCloud n'ont pas été en mesure de récupérer mes fichiers.
