The number of options available and the fact that it simply works. Other types of software don't always work, so I was happy to see TutorCruncher does what it is supposed to do. I like the number of options and the client-student system works really well, as does the invoicing.

Nachteile

Two things:
1) The software does not work intuitively. Options are difficult to find and are not where a client expects them to be. I'd advise you to work with someone who knows about customer experience in software and who is willing to update the software with your customer in mind. As a client, the software has clearly been designed by someone who is good at building software, but who is not specialised in customer experience.
2) Translations. These options are horrible. There are many words one can translate in TutorCruncher, but once I did, the original English terms appeared on the invoices, still. When I asked about this, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] told me the translations are just there 'for you'. For me? I don't get why it works like this. I'd advise you to either a) make sure the translated terms appear throughout TutorCruncher as well as - most importantly! - on the invoice to the client's customers, so that the client won't have to build a new invoice using Moustache. And b), I'd also be interested to work with you to translate the software to Dutch or other European languages. In that way, your clients won't have to translate at all, and it will provide you with the opportunity to start selling the software here in the Netherlands (as there is no Dutch software available atm).

Thier tech-team seem to be stretched at times, bug fixes can take some time, which can be stressfull when you're waiting on a fix to resolve issues with your own business' clients.

Would be nice to see some automation/workflow tools.

Incredibly cost efficient, especially for a growing team. Customer service was the best I've experienced within the LMS product world. They have an internal video call software, or you can connect with Zoom.

It isn't exactly as customizable as I had hoped, but still a great deal for the price. Some functionality feels a bit clunky and confusing, but customer service is very helpful and responsive so I was able to get the hang of it.

Tudor cruncher has significantly simplified our invoicing process and saved us time at the end of the month on that aspect of our business. It has also worked well for sharing tutoring needs with our teachers and tutors

The limitations around putting multiple parents on one account has caused a lot of headache. Additionally, the lack of clarity and consistency on the billing side has caused frustration and concerns. We've also been frustrated with the system reverting back to stripe when we have set clients up on the direct debit go cardless option and that has caused a client to be charged when they should not have been charged. Further, the ability to make adjustments to a bill once a payment order has been sent has caused us to have to pay fees multiple times because we've just had to delete the invoice and resend it and then it's confusing on the client's end because it looks like they've been billed twice. Additionally, we have locations and tutors in three cities and while many of the jobs are virtual, so open to any team member. It would be a lot nicer if we could cipher out clients and tutors by location in a different format

TutorCruncher is a robust platform with a primary focus of supporting tutoring businesses in the UK. Although our business is located in the US, the platform still does a great job with managing some of the basics. With TutorCruncher, you can offer private and group classes online or in person. You can also automate sending out links (using 3rd part conferencing platforms) for upcoming sessions. You can easily bill your clients and tally up payments for tutors and trainers.

Nachteile

TutorCruncher has made it very very apparent that they are focused on increasing revenue. With several of their last updates, you can see that additional charges are going to be added. For example, you can white label the platform, but you have to pay $100 a month for the domain and now they want another $100 to utilize custom CSS... Really???? And the problem is that it is not intuitive whitelabeling.. .you need a coder to get this set up and continue to maintain for you.
The next part that has been a massive fail is their attempt to offer a video platform with recorded sessions for students. Their system has been slow, buggy and more expensive than other proven technologies... Instead, they should focus on ALLOWING their integrated video platforms to easy share video recording access... THat would be a huge win for their customers.
Everything that is added is based on the UK, so they add new features that really are relevant to the tax system in the UK. (from billing and payment perspective)
Now they are thinking about adding in an LMS... Personally this is too little too late. With so many robust LMS options out there and with the poor quality from their launch of their video platform, I feel they are putting their efforts in new ways to generate revenue rather than improving the clunky experience of their current platform.
Customer service is poor. If I ever have an issue, I am either told it is a feature that is coming, but never does, or that I need a developer to figure it out.

It has nearly all of the features required to run a tutoring business and has helpful tutorials that I can send to clients and tutors, instead of spending time explaining to them how to use it.

Lots of bugs when trying to login. I and my tutors encounter these regularly. I have highlighted these to the admins but they don't seem to think there is an issue. The fees and Stripe Split payments system is very expensive and is too slow to release funds. Tutors are not happy that they have to wait 7 working days to get paid.

In general, TC can be difficult to use for training of larger numbers (up to 12 usually) and recent export option changes do not work for us. There is a lot of doubling up of work.

I have been using Tutorcruncher for 3 years and it provides a great solution for my business. It helps me to schedule and manage my team and clients and the general running of my business. The team are really responsive to queries.

There are some features that can be 'clunky' for example, the ability to integrate it with other apps to automate my operations. The payment is also problematic as it isn't always clear on the invoicing what the costs are for, meaning some confusion for my accountant.

Technical problem: There is maintenance when I use the platform, sometimes is disturbs my work and I need to wait until maintenance has finished.

This software is fantastic for documenting tutoring sessions and keeping track of payments from clients and to tutors. If they roll out the UK features of split disbursement and lower credit card fees using a native payment within the app to the US it will be even better.

The API and API support is also excellent

The calendar synch is one-way and delayed. That may not be a big deal for a brick-and-mortar tutoring business using employed tutors. However for my use case (100% virtual tutoring using independent tutors using different calendars and meeting software) the lack of an effective calendar synch means many of the scheduling and availability "features" are actually in the way and confusing to clients. We can only use tutor cruncher on the "backside" of the appointment to document and charge. As an example of a feature that is desperately needed, the availability needs to be able to automatically update when a tutor schedules something on their personal calendar (similar to Google Calendar appointments). As it stands a tutor would need to constantly manage their tutor cruncher availability. It just isn't worth it for tutors who are doing this part time.

Another issue is that there is currently no way to have fields that only a tutor sees but are uneditable for the tutor. I would love to communicate various poliies and information to turtors inside their TutorCrucnher accounts, but tutro custom fields are editable by the tutor. Seems like a a relatively simple function to no include.

It is clear to see that the system has been designed and developed by someone who knows the tutoring world. The functionality and features are fabulous, we got up and running really quick and the benefits it bought to our team were great. We were working quicker with less errors and better communication with our Tutors.

We are a small business and cant' afford to pay for the development of our bespoke processes. However, as a start up, there is so much potential for Tutor Cruncher to grow. All of our processes are not currently supported by Tutor Cruncher, however many of our business requirements are met. It is an exciting journey to be on with Tutor Cruncher, as they are open to our feedback and ideas for additional functionality for the system to be driven forward and grow as a product. I cant wait to see additional processes in the future.

The customer service is terrible. The agents try their best, but language barriers seem to be an issue. The questions don't get answered fully the first time round, there is a lot of back and forth until the agent understands what you mean, often you figure out the answer yourself in the process (by elimination) and I have been given wrong information in the past, such as that it is possible to split payment three ways - it is not!! This then caused issues with tutor payments. It would be good if this feature was available, it looks like it should be - but then it doesn't work with Stripe.

Once set up and you have got your head around all the functionality the basic day to day processes are very simple. You get great weekly analytics summaries of how the business is progressing (although a monthly summary email would be also really useful!) and the invoicing system works well for tutors and parents.

Some of the analytics on the dashboard could be more detailed. I would like the option to view turnover and profit figures inclusive of the Stripe fees. Plus the ability to clearly compare a certain period this year with last year's data to aid analysing business progress. (like Xero offers). Finally if there was a way to add a business forecasting feature to see how the business does against projections would also be really useful and save me time and expense having to do all this manually outside of the platform on spreadsheets.

There are always various feature requests as customers want enhancements to the product, but it's not clear when the updates can be expected. For example, I would like to export out a list of balance updates, which seems like a feature that is easy to implement, but this is not possible.
