Not bad theoretically, with quite average implementation and super bad customer support.

A lot of questions that no one rush to answer. Their support is working only in NZ and AU. SO if you call after 5 pm Au/Nz time regardless of your problem - wait till the next working day and no one cares you have critical problems.

Vorteile

The features list is impressive. If it works good and they can improve their UI (just hire someone who at leat understands what is UI) - the system could be very good.

Nachteile

Customer support is the worst, probably the worst on the market.

I would highly recommend Cin7.

Our company recently moved our stock in to a 40k SqFt warehouse, and had no inventory tracking system other than spreadsheets which were sporadically updated. I was tasked with solving this problem. After reviewing and testing MANY inventory packages, I found that Cin7 provided the best solution for the best cost.

The way Cin7 integrates the entire product flow, from cutting a PO for materials to final delivery to the customer has greatly increased our productivity. The warehouse and sales process runs much more smoothly, with visibility at all stages of the process. No more calling to bother the warehouse manager to ask where an order is in the process.

The inventory tracking has worked very well for us. We no longer must worry about where an item is located in the warehouse, saving us hours of picking time. We also don’t have to call the warehouse manager to see if we have enough stock to complete a sale on time, as this is visible from both the product and sales order screens, and from reports.

The reporting module is great, giving visibility to both sales and inventory. Using pivot tables, you can drag & drop items to be included in to a report, and the prebuilt reports are nice as well.

The PO process has been greatly simplified using the Smart Buyer module. If you have set minimum levels and set reorder levels, you can cut POs to replenish all your stock in about 10 minutes. This has saved us many man hours per week.

Cin7 is not simple to set up. However, they assign a specialist to your account to walk you through each step of the process and to make sure you understand how everything works. They also hold webinars regularly to explain some of the more complicated topics more in depth. These webinars are also available for viewing at later dates, which is nice for review. The help system is comprehensive. If you can’t find the answer to your question, the support staff is friendly, responsive and above all very competent. Cin7 really does its best as a company to make sure you succeed.

Vorteile

I really like the Smart Buyer module. It makes the PO creation process so easy. The reporting is really great as well

Nachteile

There is a learning curve, just like with any inventory and business management platform this comprehensive. Cin7 does have great support and documentation to help out to mitigate this.

Cin7 Experience

We are extremely happy with our CIN7 experience so far (about 9 months).

Previously we had found inventory management systems trying to do too much generally did nothing well. So when we decided to change we were initially looking for something simpler in the hope we could find something that would at least do the basics very well.

After trialing Cin7 we were surprised but also a little hesitant because its has a full suite of features (like our old system). BUT i am very glad we took the risk. I never expected to move so much of our business management out of the backend of our website and into our inventory/sales system. It has changed the way we run our business and vastly improved the information and reporting our staff have available, which also improves our customers experience.

The system is reliable, easy to use, has advanced features, has a fairly straight forward API, and the CIN7 support has also been very helpful. They actually want to set you up and get you using their system properly (whats the point of having all these features if you dont know how to use them).

No off the shelf system is without its flaws as each business is different. For us we would like the manufacturing module built out for more high volume manufacturing, at the moment its a bit boutique. 'Kitting' is also a bit underdeveloped.

This is a good SAS and i would recommend it!

Amazing Software - Like a tall glass of water in the desert!

Cin7 is an excellent inventory system, we investigated about 10-20 different top ERP solutions with our extensive requirements list (bill of materials and scanning were some of the features that were difficult to find natively supported in a lot of the offerings out there). Many of the systems that we investigated were like a mirage in the desert. They looked great and advertised great features, but once you got into them, it was like getting to the mirage and finding there was no water there. The software packages would either not be capable of what we needed them to do, or the price became so high that it would put our business under.
Cin7 was like a tall glass of refreshing water in the Sahara Desert. After many long hours of wandering in the desert, we finally found this great inventory system, which natively has all of the features we were looking for at a price that is very reasonable for our mid-sized business. So, if you want to keep your camels watered… (or your employees/and overall business happy); I recommend Cin7, where you will get to the water and not find yourself still thirsty in the desert, having only seen a mirage.

Vorteile

The greatest features of Cin7 are the search-ability everywhere within the system, back-end stability, existing integrations, and the great visibility and flow of the system as orders go through it. We were also very impressed with the concept of virtual stock through existing materials and bill of materials.

Nachteile

We had a little trouble with the importing of data as there were some nuances, however the on-boarding process helped us to resolve them so it was not a big deal.

Cin7 has transformed our small business - We absolutely love Cin7.

Cin7 has transformed our small business and we could not be happier. Cin7 consolidates all of our sales channels; to include, 2 EDI sales channels. To have all sales channels integrated with inventory management in one application streamlined our business processes and reduced manual admin requirements. Truly, Cin7 is one of a few applications where technology actually reduces workload and frees up our small staff to focus on marketing, product development, and customer service.

The Cin7 customer support is OUTSTANDING. Our On-Boarding Account Manager was fantastic. The Support team made our transition to EDI smooth and they patiently trained us to automate our EDI processes. The telephone support provided is priceless. Knowing that we can reach out for help, around the clock, from an intelligent and caring "human" is absolutely essential for our small team of 8 employees. Each of us multitasks and manage many applications...we do NOT have time to be experts in any one application. We do NOT have time to read technical information, use forums, or play the back and forth never ending game of trouble tickets. With Cin7, we don't have too. We can simply pick up the phone and get help Immediately.

In the strongest term, we high Recommend Cin7 to anyone who is serious about running a successful eCommerce Business.

We did not have a way to import sales history from Stitchlabs...there might be a way..need to assess

Comprehensive inventory management software

Whilst there are always compromises when it comes to inventory management, Cin7 offers a comprehensive package that covers most bases (more than any other - and trust me I researched this a lot!). And they do offer customisation too if what they have doesn't quite cover your bases.

So if you have complex inventory management requirements and you are looking for loads of side benefits - POS, BOMs, B2B, 3PL etc - then definitely take a closer look at Cin7. And even if your requirements are simple definitely consider Cin7 as your company will be able to grow in to its many features.

As a comparison with the many other inventory packages and POS systems I have worked with Cin7 is by far the most comprehensive and thus I really couldn't recommend enough.

The cons are that it could be considered slightly clunky to work through some things - but I would argue this is necessary to have a slightly complex system that allows a company to grow into. One example of this, just to give an idea, is when using BOMs. They don't automatically update the cost price of the good they create (there is an extra step to set it up to do this which is not very obvious). This would seem annoying and slightly counterintuitive. AlthoughI would also argue that it does offer you the extra advantage of being able to choose whether a BOM price update will automatically update the cost price of a good. So you can see it can be clunky but also kind of necessary in terms of flexibility.

The only other two cons I would say are the slightly outdated design of the platform which aesthetically isn't the best. And not having much choice in invoice design etc. But this is really just nit picking and something that I am sure will be fixed at some point.

So overall really would have to recommend - especially if you are looking for a wide range of features and a well designed platform.

Extremely bad customer service - 1month responstime

We have had many more problems with Cin7 compared to much cheaper cloud solution we worked on in the past. We were told all the great features and customization by the sales men. Problem is a lot of ther solution they promissed didn't work as described. Actually we cannot use the solutions at all. We bought a supercar with no motor, and now they don't want to help us get up and running. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SOFTWARE.

it is in general a great system, but i really does not matter if the system cannot calculate the profit of your sales.

Nachteile

Costumer service is so poor. The people you talk to always need to contact another employee, and the respons time is avg 1month. also for critical issues. The onboarding team cuts the connection before we are up an running, meaning i have to talk with support about issues that i already explained the onboarding team.

Average Inventory Management System, good features, Expensive for small businesses

-The Multiple location warehouse option is one of the main reason why I chose Cin7, not many Inventory software have that option.
-The accounting integration with Xero and QBO is very important
-Cloud base is definitely a must today.
- Customer service is super friendly but super slow and they lack knowledge and training of Cin7 itself.

Vorteile

Good B2B software in general, has lots of great features.

Multiple locations, Integrations available, cloud based, email features, pricing specials, easy to use, reporting, accounting integration.

Nachteile

-The on-board support was mediocre, the representative did not not the software very well, they did not take the time to understand your business properly before making adjustments.
-Inventory levels in Cin7 never seems to match physicals, it is very easy for the staff to make mistakes, not proper rules and restrictions are in place. Not accurate
-Very slow at times
- Support takes up to a week to get back to you, sometimes they don't even reply back.
- Supper expensive, what they quote initially does not include any integrations, users, etc. Make sure they include everything before you commit.
- Still has lots of bugs, this software is design for the fashion/ retail industry. We are a food wholesaler and it doesn't fit the purpose sometimes.
It doesn't have an app for apple or Android which would be very useful for sales reps and on the go usability

Looked good until we started using it more and finding holes in the features and capabilities

staff are really good, features and function are really lacking or inflexible.

Vorteile

Inexpensive for a small number of users, reasonably good integration and training process that doesn't take up too much time.

Nachteile

The list is growing. There are lots of things the system just doesn't do well. Version Control of Products is poor, there is no ability to mark some products as GST-Free, there are very limited template options, you can't "copy" prior orders, if you receive partial payments (eg a deposit) then there is no oprtion to charge credit card fees (you have to wear these, or add a manual line entry). You can't have negative priced products, so if you want to apply discounts and keep track of these (e.g. vouchers or reclaimable govt subsidies) it is impossible. I think it's just not a good all-rounder. Maybe its ideal for selling t-shirts, but we have importing, 3rd party contract manufacture, dropshipping (god, that's painful in Cin7) and wholesaling. Cin7 is so far not up to the task.

If you are planning to buy it, don't do so as a start-up. The implimentation period is very helpful but wasted if you are not at full commercial fuction. If you are already operational and selling, feel free to change if the system suits you, but don't "start" a business with Cin7 becuase you'll drop out of the implimentation service before you find all of the problems.

Great Product but could be imporved with more user testing

Service with onboarding has been great. Questions have been aswered in a prompt manner. Everyone we have spoken to has been very nice and determined to provide an aswer to questions.

Vorteile

It's early days for us. Cin7 seems like a powerful tool that we look forward to using to it's full potential. We are loving the degree of customisation. Reporting is a step up from other systems. Smart buyer tool is great.

Nachteile

There are some features that seem quite unintuitive. A great feature is often let down by poor UX and UI. Hopefully things will improve. No mobile app.

Headed from good to great!

We have recently moved over our CRM to Cin7. As a small business this it was a big decision and overall we are very happy with our choice. To layout the journey as we found it - Sales Team: They were very knowledgeable, work hard to find a pricing solution that would work for us but may have slight over promised on the capability of the system. Onboarding Team: By far the best part of the process. [SENSITIVE CONTENT], our onboarding agent was fantastic. He was patient and supportive, working with us on any issue we raised and liasing between us an the IT support team. He alone made the process a success. Support: Reading other reviews I would agree they are slow at getting back to you but generally when they do get to the issue have a good resolution: The Tech: Cin7 largely does what we were told it would, there are a few work arounds and they have rushed out some updated that aren't quite finished which isn't great. The system though has left us much more confident than we were in our previous system and we look forward to using Cin7 to help us grow across our retail and trade platforms. Well done for helping us along the way, we hope you take these feedback and improve where you can to go from good to great.

Vorteile

We love there stock production capacity, the ability to account for stock on hand and virtual stock accurately and the B2B sales platform.

Nachteile

The integration setting for Shopify are a bit clunky and can be confusing, it crashes ever so often but generally we have a high level of confidence in the software. The support team could be quicker!

Great inventory management system

Vorteile

- The onboarding for the software was great. We had access to the Cin7 Academy which walked through most steps and our dedicated onboarding specialist [SENSITIVE CONTENT] helped us weekly with any other issues that required more knowledge. No pressure was given to speed up this process and onboarding was overall a very good experience.
- Cin7 has a lot of features that are helpful for a growing business such as contact logs and templates, linking orders to PO's and credit limits.

Nachteile

- The software is somewhat 'clunky', not as intuitive as other softwares. An update in the overall users interface could help.

- Onboarding is expensive but if you have a great onboarding specialist it is worth it.

- Can be laggy

- Some features could be more fleshed out, especially in the B2B but they are working on that.

Promising features but poorly executed with terrible support

Vorteile

The features on offer are promising and if they all worked well, the value for money would be fairly good. The implementation charges are reasonable for the level of detail required to get the system up and running.

Nachteile

The software feels like it is still in beta and we have found quite a number of bugs. Most of the time it's a challenge to even convince their support to take responsibility of the problem and generally the solution is a workaround rather than an actual fix. There are a lot of problems we simply gave up on trying to resolve entirely. There are bugs they fixed that were subsequently reintroduced later on. At the moment their own financial reports don't add up and we can't even complete the essential end of year activities we need to. Over a week has passed with no resolution despite daily follow up, their excuse is that unless we pay them extra to get upgraded support they can't keep up with all the issues they have at the moment!

Premium support gets you faster email responses and phone support, it does not affect the number or type of queries we respond to. If an issue is escalated to the development team, depending on the complexity of the fix required and the outcome of testing, this process can take weeks to ensure the release goes smoothly.

Vorteile

We have been actively using Cin7 for over 4 months. It has simplified our workflow on how to manage the inventory in our warehouse. Having one common source that is accurate, has enabled all users to trust the system and enjoy the ease of each transaction.

We are a ladies apparel wholesaler, I still have challenges on how we look at the size scale based on our set up in the solution.

A solid inventory management system

Cin7 is so far great for our small retail and eCommerce business, it certainly helps with the basics of managing inventory, sales and integrates with accounting. The onboarding experience was helpful despite lots of hiccups to get it up and running fast, but overall think it does a great job at providing the capabilities it does for the price they offer.

Runs fast, integrations work clean, relatively intuitive once you understand the concepts. Once the foundations are set, then it really does a good job as an EDI at the core of the business.

Nachteile

Missing some advanced features that are missing for certain manufacturing processes that just aren't there. It can be clunky and there are surprisingly a lot of crashes. An update in the UI would be much needed to reach today's standards. Onboarding is pricey, so best to make the most of it.

Bug-filled, hidden price increases - look elsewhere

One of the most bug-filled and disappointing software systems we have come across.

We had a significant price increase only 7-month into the subscription, more than 100%. Some would argue it is completely unethical business practice luring a company in long enough to invest enough time so set themselves up only to get an extreme pricing increase...

Was promised Premium Support as compensation for the price hike, managed to negotiate a small price drop but Premium Support was taken off without communicating that to us. Price is now back up where it was plus some.

Promised functionality but appears to have been built by people with little user insight.

Support response time is poor, the support staff we deal with try their best but with a system filled with bugs, it's pretty obvious they are fighting an uphill battle.

Zero compensation for lost data which was only one of the issues with bugs.

Do yourselves a favour and research all inventory systems available thoroughly before committing to CIN7. There are several other systems available with far fewer issues and quality customer service.

This software system is not ready for use.

You can customise some aspects, though you will pay a fee for any changes.

Nachteile

So many issues, it's not yet ready for use, there are plenty of bugs.

The large price increases are unjustified when the systems do not run smoothly.

Terrible Custumer Support

Vorteile

The software has great functionality and streamlines many aspects of the business. They have put lots of work into the bugs but their documentation is often outdated. It is effective for handling ecommerce sales but lacks on the pick-n-pack system.

Nachteile

The customer support is terrible! If you want to chat or talk to anyone they try to enroll you onto "premium support" for almost $3000 - $5000 per year. Standard support takes over 1 week to get back to you.

Additionally, the on-boarding team has no experience with accounting or the financial setup. More often than ever they tell you they will consult with one of their teams and make you waste time until the on-boarding is over and you have to pay for premium support.

I would recommend it but note, you will spend a lot of time trying to set it up correctly. Be prepared to allocate additional time reconciling inventory if you use shipstation (does not integrate well).

Fantastic Product, Especially at its Price-Point

Cin7 has helped us streamline our business, identify shortfalls, and helped us to leap into where today's technology is operating at vs. our previous, DOS-based software.

Vorteile

SAAS is huge for us. It's available whenever and wherever we need it since it works offline. We're using it for purchasing, inventory management, creating orders at our customers locations, fulfilling the orders in warehouse, then delivering. Although we're hacking the POS module to function as our order taking module, we've been able to work with the support time to accomplish what we need to keep our business running. Cin7 is very reasonable from a cost perspective. An ERP would run us north of $25k, in some cases $40k! Cin7 is a great solution to help our small business grow, and we anticipate Cin7 being able to scale with us. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] in sales, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] in onboarding, and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] in support have been integral in our success with Cin7.

Nachteile

Given we're on the most affordable plan, the support is challenging given we don't have a dedicated rep. So the onus is on me to be dilligent in getting our issues resolved. That said, whenever I've pushed, Cin7 has been there to help us find the solution. The fact we're "hacking" the POS module to be an order taking module is a con, but again, that's us being frugal and not wanting to invest in an ERP.

Overall good - relatively steep learning curve but manageable

We used excel spreadsheets to track orders from multiple sales channels (Shopify, email, phone, Instagram, messages etc). We manually entered every single Shopify invoice into Xero AND onto our spreadsheet.
We then manually entered every single tracking number onto our spreadsheet too AND into Shopify.
This was all fine when we had 1 or 2 employees and doing 100 or 200 sales per month.
Now at 1000+ sales per month and growing, we needed a way to automate this process. We looked at Cin7 and 2 other similar software for Inventory management and decided this was the best. We are paying extra to have this custom integrated into our 3PL warehouse so orders will be automatically sent for picking and tracking numbers etc will automatically flow back. Currently we're still a couple of weeks away from the integration being finalised so we are still manually bulk exporting orders to the warehouse. However all Shopify invoices are automatically imported into Cin7 and then flow into Xero.
My advice would be to dedicate 1 (if possible 2) people to the implementation. Do the training vidoes and then when you are ready to 'Go Live' make sure you have 2 or 3 days clear as you will need it to get up to speed and get comfortable.

Vorteile

To switch Cin7 on was relatively easy. Once we went live with it, it all works quite well, it's just a matter of learning how it differs to the software we used previously.
Support when going live is good, i had pages of questions over several days, all of which have been answered.

Nachteile

There are still manual processes required when it comes to Xero however the time savings and automation are obivous.

Excellent Software

Information accuracy was key to choosing CIN7, it has made transacting much quicker and simpler. Inventory management was extremely important, maintaining spreadsheets doesn't work in the long run and CIN7 is brilliant.

Vorteile

I love the integrations, my entire system is linked between B2B, shipping, ecommerce platforms and the warehouse for distribution. Cin7 does the job of several people, and it does it fast and accurately. We'd be completely lost without CIN7. We researched other similar platforms but nothing comes close to CIN7.

Nachteile

There is little to dislike, but if I had to say something it would be that it is sometimes slow. It could be related to other factors. I would love it if there was app for tablet.

Bugs & no support

I was very patient. We spent almost 2 months getting ready to go live. Paid them upfront. The day we went live our "pre-live" manager disappeared, post-live support is not there. They couldn't fix even one out of 3 failing connections. Nothing works, we're doing all the inventory on paper now.

Vorteile

It has most of the features we need for our business. Integrations with all marketplaces we use and shipstation.

Nachteile

3 out of 4 integrations failing. Basic functionality like order status updates when shipped via Shipstation fails. Wrong inventory pulled when items sold on marketplaces. Cin7 support admitted connection bugs but couldn't fix them for over 45 days now.

New user excited by level of functionality, quality of platform, and sincerity of help

We are a small business with 6 employees based in Australia and working in the construction supply industry. We sell mainly to trade, via trade credit accounts, but also do some wholesale and retail sales. We have around 500 account customers and 7000 product lines. Due to the size limitation of our site we do a large number of stock turns on many items, so inventory management, ease of generating orders and stock receipting are very important to us. The competitive nature of our industry demands the capability to have multiple discounting methods which are applied at both customer and product (quantity based) levels enabling accurate and consistent pricing to customers.
We have been using another software for over two years with another cloud-based POS/inventory/CRM product and have recently switched to Cin7. In short, I wish we had swapped sooner. Though we have literally only been using Cin7 'live' for three weeks now, the experience is so superior, so 'next level' that it is clear to me we were simply using the wrong package for our business. While we are still learning and growing into the Cin7 package, we are finding that its operation is streamlining our processes, increasing our invoicing accuracy and assisting with our inventory management. Integration has been nearly flawless, with hours saved every week on automatic invoice due date production.
Despite many offers of more involved training, Cin7 is so logically constructed that we taught ourselves, with the aid of available on-line help resources and the occasional email or phone conference with our mentor. Having a dedicated project manager from Cin7 to guide us through the 'onboarding' process was brilliant, saving the usual frustration of explaining the same thing to multiple people in a standard help desk environment. Our manager really took the time to understand how we do business and then show us how our requirements could best be implemented. Staggeringly we had some customization specific to our needs built into the platform in a matter of hours during the onboarding process. The whole task of switching from old to new could not have been any more straightforward.
I look forward to becoming more adept with Cin7 and using what I learn to increase productivity while bettering the interaction between our business and our customers.

Customer Service

Vorteile

We have been with Cin7 for several years now and although the initial customisation provides ongoing challenges for us, we have experienced really good customer service recently for any day to day issues and problems we encounter. The team get back promptly, mostly with a solution and otherwise with suggestions of what we can try to help get around issues.

Nachteile

As our system was so heavily customised initially, and parts of the planning side remain incomplete, the system doesn't provide a complete end to end solution for our business. This means a lot of workarounds to get the information required out of the system so planning takes longer than it should. There was a heavy reliance on one programmer which is always a dangerous position to be in and hopefully this is no longer the case moving forward.

CIN7 increased our monthly charge three fold

Buyer beware. I signed up in spring of 2017 to use CIN7 for my two retail businesses. The first was an ok experience; the second was in onboarding stage for almost a year. At that point, in spring 2018, CIN7 announced that they were tripling our monthly charge for both accounts and there was nothing I could do. We tried to resolve and come to a compromise, and there was a complete lack of interest in hearing a customer’s point of view. So, after paying them multiple thousands of dollars, and investing additional thousands of dollars in training, we got to dump everything and go elsewhere. I’m still appalled when I think about their business practices and complete lack of respect for the customer relationship.

Expensive and buggy

Vorteile

It provides you with open-ended functionality and is less restrictive. I am able to pull good reports and track my sales and products.
Sale orders are easy to generate

Nachteile

It is still a software full of bugs also they have had a huge increase in price one after the other. Their explanation is that they have so many more new features. the reality is we don't use any of the new plugin and or features but we went from paying lesser amount to now more amount.

We are locked in of course and it will take many months before we can move on which we will pay more a month for the functionality we use is grossly overpriced. with a phone call and two weeks notice to increase the price by more than 40%

Soon I am sure there will be more software makers on the market in this field to bring these ridiculous prices for these types of apps and I hope that day comes sooner rather than later.

[SENSITIVE CONTENT] Is Awesome!

Inventory Management, Online and Retail System Management, Accounting Integration, Manufacturing and Production Management. I don't know if anyone has yet but we plan to test out and potentially use every feature that Cin7 has.

Let's give routine to robots and start thinking more!

I know the Cin7 for a couple of years. I can see guys are growing very fast and the management quite delays to the growing of the company. The company spending a lot of time to advertise the Cin7. In my opinion, the company does not spend enough time to develop the Cin7 and work with customers especially to make customization for them. The developers and support team quite late for the fast growing company. Simple things working very well, but if you want something special for your special business process Cin7 answer we can not do it. And at the same time, I receive the same answer for some simple things which should be done by default. The Cin7 developers develop firstly what more popular under the requests from customers, so this is just one way of communication. They do not ask all customers if they need something and do not share information what other customers ask from Cin7 to make for them. Because some of the customers just simply do not know what they could possibly have from Cin7 to make their business better they need to have a support from Cin7, otherwise, some companies will loosing money on something which Cin7 could possible automatise for them or show the short cut. So the priority of development not actually going the right way. Would like to see more options for users create their own interface, reports, etc. without asking Cin7 make it for them.
Cin7 can save a lot of time for the customers if Cin7 will work more to customization way.

Complete business overview and control in real time.
Stock inventory, warehouse controls, automatic purchasing, sales, point of sale for our retail stores, shopify and xero integration.

Vorteile

Managing our 9 retail stores and warehouse is becoming very easy. This software has given us the platform and ability to scale with ease and at pace.
The Laybye System is amazing and easy to track and use. Not many systems offer this purchase option.
Seemless integration to xero and shopify make life a breeze.
We are able to monitor each sales person in real time and look at their performances over past months with 1 or 2 clicks.
The reporting is great and the Smart Buyer software has made our lives easier.
Stock management and the integrated warehousing is just awesome. We track every stock movement and know exactly where it is, down to the exact shelf at any given time.
An awesome product that keeps getting better and better.

Nachteile

Being in South Africa some times support takes awhile.
Small things change on updates sometimes throwing the entire system out which results in a week or two of waiting for fixes. They seem to be getting better at this.
Full integration has taken awhile but that is due to our complex business and the fact that we are learning and using every function Cin7 offers. We will never look back!

Decent software Terrible support and service.

Trying to move our inventory management system to a cloud based one and one that links directly with Xero accounting software.

'Onboarding' process was not finished during the time line that Cin7 dedicated to onboarding. Once this deadline elapsed we've been drowning in bugs that we can't get help with. Usual response is 'we're sorry - someone will get back to you in 48 hours.' no one does then we have to keep chasing them for weeks...

Vorteile

Powerful reporting functionality. Cloud based so good access.

Nachteile

Support. We have a bug list a mile long and we can't get anyone from Cin7 to respond. I'm actually reviewing here in the hope that having it in public will prompt Cin7 into getting back to us. We switched to their inventory management system but trying to get help to make the program work to the requirements of our business has been a nightmare. Unless this suits your needs perfectly straight-out-of-the-box I recommend you look elsewhere.

Cin7 user review

The initial implementation was not great. We relied on Cin7 implementation team. If I had to do this again now that I am familiar with the software I would import and set up our products instead to getting Cin7 to do this. It will also be great to get a post implementation health check to make sure everything is working the way it is suppose to work.

Vorteile

The product is easy to use. We do all our order processing and invoicing in Cin7. It makes it easier to use one platform when selling through multiple channels.

Nachteile

I am not always confident that Cin7 integrated with the different platforms we sell through. Recently I discovered that Cin7 stopped integrating with Ebay so I had to set this up again.

Combined POS and inventory

Our management of stock is greatly improved, and selling on iPads is a big advantage.

Vorteile

The combination of POS and inventory management in one package was essential for us, and also the fact that it is linked to Xero. Landed cost is also a large benefit as we import in euros, sell in GBP and need to include freight and custom costs in the cost price, which Cin7 handles superbly. Also, units of measure are important , to enable us to buy in units, but sell in units, metres or boxes.

Support is difficult as it is by email only.

Missing feature for multiple locations

WE have several stores but only use 7 at one due to the fact it does not allow to run separate pricing or sales at individual stores, everything is set at the one price. Example if store A wants to run a special on a product. It has to do it manually or all the other stores have to run the same promotion.
Also if store B wants to sell a item for an extra 50cents to cover freight costs, no can do.

Expensive, comprehensive but slightly cumbersome

We had real issues with clients managing their stock levels, movement of stock, manufacturing of goods, and warehouse management. We moved several clients onto CIN7 and it does the job very well. We can have a stock figure live, online any time of the day or night.

Vorteile

Fully featured software. They really have thought of every eventuality and cater for it. There are so many things you can do with this software.

Nachteile

It's so big and bitty that it doesn't feel good or easy to use. It is stable and reliable but doesn't feel that way. It has so many features that it's really difficult to set up and not that easy to learn to use. It's not the most intuitive software.

Just beginning the the CIN7 journey however all looking positive!

Vorteile

A cloud-based solution that is easy to use and understand, offers out-of-the-box integrations with EDI and other API-connected systems. This has ultimately helped to further develop and systemise often complex and time consuming, manual workflows and processes.
The onboarding experience has been a positive one, often breaking down complicated processes into bite-sized implementation goals which are easy to understand and achieve. In addition to the face-time with CIN7's onboarding team there are plenty of videos and learning modules to guide you through the set up and ongoing use of the platform.
CIN7 is a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more legacy systems out there that are cumbersome and heavy to implement and run.

Nachteile

There are some features/functions that require nuanced setup during onboarding that are not obvious unless thoroughly uncovered and discussed during the exploration phase.
Would love to see a more intuitive interface - some things aren't completely obvious - after an explanation they do make sense, however require some remembering to repeat in the future.

A great software with excellent reporting capabilities and much more

So recently I decided I needed to really look into an inventory management software that will provide us with not only a way of managing stock but also a good point of sale system.

I did my research with careful analysis of what the cost vs value available on the market.
Hands down cin7 won it all. From the ease of generating invoices to the straight forward reporting. I have estimated that this software has saved me 6 to 8 man hours a month.

Adding to this The staff at cin7 can do custom developer work on the software to suit different businesses.

Currently, we have a special referral reporting system where it tells us where each customer has found us. This is built into the sales order feature. The field for referral is a mandatory field which means my staff can't forget to enter it in.

This has given me a greater insight on how we are acquiring our customers and since than I have saved even more money on advertising avenues which have very little or no return.

I would recommend this software to anyone that takes their reporting and sales projection seriously.

CIN7 for Wholesale

Cin7 has been great overall with our company. Their team leaders make sure that we are well taken care of and when we require a hand, they are there to help us find a quick and efficient solution.

Vorteile

Cin7's greatest capability is its ease of use. From the start, our employees are able to have a strong grasp of the system.

Nachteile

Communication. We use cin7 for all of our business operations. From warehouse management, delivery scheduling, all the way to backend sales. Cin7 must implement a way for its users to communicate and plan activities better.

Cin7 inventory management when you growing platforms you are selling across

Cin7 has helped our clients who had problems with keeping track of their inventory. It has meant greater efficiency when selling and quicker sales for our clients. The efficiencies which have been established by introducing this system have resulted in better costing and better sales figures as well.

Vorteile

Once you have loaded your products into the Cin7 system, you are able to closely track your products by location and quantity. It makes the process so much easier for sales staff who are able to see quantities and where quantities are located as they create sales orders.

Nachteile

For people without accounting knowledge navigating the system can be a but intimidating but once you are trained and have the knowledge, the benefits far outweigh this cost.

This is a fantastic solution for anyone selling across multiple sales channels. Completely eliminates overselling and its forecast reports make it really easy to plan our next production cycle.

uge potential but still some major things to sort

Mix bag - from awesome features and ideas to very hard to implement and things that were promised turn out to are not offered and make the price steap for what you get.

user interface - continues invation of the product - some customer service people are very awesome and switched on - mulitcurrency use -

lake of integration to software - simple emailing jobs to warehouse is difficult - no job stage is driven actions possible - reporting per branch as default is not possible (you see always all branches, all your products incl and all the inventory) and need to be adjusted everytime you run the report - customer service can be very unresponsive

I had to sign on when we were not busy during COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, i was not able to take advantage of the first month set up as much, since no orders were coming in. However, once i was full time (this week only) i had a lot of questions that were all answered by email quickly.

Vorteile

I switched and so far am enjoying the reporting - basically you can customize your reports to whatever information that you need. I am still working on setting up a great CRM details, but other than that the QBO integration is great as well.

Nachteile

My sizing for shoes are 10, 10.5, 11, 11.5 and all the half sizes end up being at the end of the list when creating orders - they do not stay in numerical order.

Cant just easily click the stock and change the number, you have to export and then import. It is not too tedious but i would like to be able to just edit stock easily if i see one error in one shoe a certain day.

A GAME Changer

We have more control and visibility over our inventory from purchasing to the way we warehouse, we have also been able to have more accurate insight into our margin, processing and dispatching is fast and easy, and Can7 integrates with xero and shopify perfectly!

Vorteile

I worked on the project with [SENSITIVE CONTENT], who was a wealth of knowledge, making the integration process seamless, communication was clear, and GO live was made so much easier and stress free with his support and fast replies. He made the whole experience a lot less daunting and was fast to offer solutions and find fixes to anything not working initially extremely quickly, which is so important in a fast paced business, that switched operational procedures overnight with this amazing software.

Nachteile

There is nothing I have found so far, in fact I am sure I will find much more to like.

Disappointed & Unreliable

Customer Support and resolution of support tickets is poor, Customers reach out for help with the expectation that SME will address your concern in a timely fashion. Exposing your customer on ongoing EDI & reporting issues that put sales at risk without support of feedback is not the best way to drive confidence with customers

It's easy to use, easy to navigate and has a pretty good reporting suite - however the reports are not always accurate which create doubt in the system accuracy.

Nachteile

There always appears to be an issue with the system. Service tickets for help are not actioned in a timely fashion. Upgrades t the system have created issues to the system after upgrades are deployed.

RUN AWAY and don't even waste your time. This company is a mess.

Worst ever! I wish I could move into another system, but as you know it takes months to transition and we just don't have the time to change over.

Vorteile

Nothing. From support to features, this software has to be one of the worst out there. I suspect all the reviews are all paid. There is no way anyone can like this as an inventory management software - it doesn't even work

Nachteile

Everything.

The system does not calculate inventory correct - known issue and they are "working on it with high priority" since August of 2018. Until then, you are expected to "deal with it" and give you "work-arounds" that takes 5 additional steps and MUST be done EXACTLY or your invenotry will be allocated twice.

There is no support system - it's basically just emails. Their average support ticket per customer is 2 x a month and they brag that this is "good" - RUN. Any system that thinks having 2 issues a month with a system that should just work, I would never recommend.

We actually use this system heavily and I have 2 support tickets at a minimum a week.

There's NOTHING intuitive with the system. Do a demo, look at the user interface and go with your intuition. When you have a system that feels like your in The 90's you in for a world of trouble.

I hope it works properly one day

If they had account managers that helped follow things thru and understood the system . It would be a really good system .

Vorteile

Basic stuff works ok . Pretty stable cloud plate form . Good view of products purchased from customers in Crm

Nachteile

Not even sure if we can use it , for on account customers ( 4 +years later ) intergration to Shopify poor . Stocktake module good luck .
Smart buyer no good if you have more that one store . View on location stock when doing adjustments useless . Ebay module is for downloading orders only . Lots of bugs in general . Pay for premium support and still seem to go around in circles
