I’ve been using Google Workspace as an optical system engineer, and it has become a crucial tool for managing my work and team communication. One thing I like most about it is how all the tools, like Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets, are connected and work together smoothly. It’s great for collaboration. My team can edit documents or spreadsheets at the same time, and everyone sees changes instantly. This feature saves us time and avoids sending files back and forth. Also, the cloud-based system is a huge advantage. I can access my files from anywhere, whether it’s on my phone, tablet, or computer, which has been helpful when traveling or in meetings.
Google Meet and Calendar are also very useful. I can schedule meetings, send invites, and join video calls without leaving the platform. Meetings run smoothly, and I often use the screen-sharing feature to show designs or presentations. Managing files in Google Drive is easy too. I can organize documents into folders, share them with the team, and quickly find what I need using the search tool. It’s very helpful when dealing with a lot of files.

Nachteile

Despite all the good features, there are a few downsides that could be easily addressed. The main issue is that Google Workspace depends heavily on an internet connection. Some files can be accessed offline, but it’s not the same as working online, which can be a problem in places with weak internet. Another small issue I’ve noticed is that sometimes, when working on very large documents or spreadsheets, Docs and Sheets can slow down a bit, which can be frustrating but doesn’t happen too often.

I like the practicality with which it is used, since you can use different functions with different tools, plus all based on the cloud, which is quite useful to work on different devices and not lose your progress to inconveniences, has virtually all the necessary tools to work, from editing documents and presentations, to video conferencing and chat to work as a team.

One of its greatest strengths, which at the same time is one of its greatest weaknesses, is that since it covers several areas for its development, i.e. the different tools that can be used within its platform, these are not specialized as they would normally be in a software that is dedicated only to a certain function, and each of the software tools could be much better if they were worked separately.

It is a wonderful business solution and definitely an awesome all-in-one office suite for business communication, document, spreadsheet,and presentation stuff. Drive is a big plus., Calendar and Meet are helping us not to search for another platform for remote meetings management.

Some features aren't quite as good as flagship products they imitate (i.e. excel, word) but they're really getting there. Its annoying to have to download files often to use elsewhere, but this is how the cloud works.

Sometimes when I receive a new chat from a member of the workspace that I haven't chatted before I receive the notification but I can't see the chat in my chats list, it kind of keeps hidden, sometimes I have seen like an accept chat button but If I dont click it I dont find it anymore

GW gives us the ability to manage our cloud storage across the entire org, gives us security alerts and allows us to set permissions to specific files/folders; additionally we get access to APIs that can allow us to create custom workflows that create/edit/share important items.

Some of the permission settings and security related items are a little obscure, so if you're coming into it cold you'll need to watch or read some documentation to make sure you've set everything up correctly.

I, honestly, can't really think of any cons. My students and I like it. I think that the only sad thing is that they are removing the Jamboard. My students and I use this feature to share information. It allows our virtual classwork to become interactive. So, I guess that could be considered a con.

I've been using the product (even though the name has changed) for about ten years. The different functions are readily available on sidebars or in menus and are easy to find and consistent, as to their placement and descriptive icons. Now, as I discover new ways to use different features, it makes noticeable improvements in my productivity, particularly, in being able to control exactly, how my email works, as far as organization, placement, specific filters, etc.

It would be nice if the archiving function worked differently. If we could sort by several parameters and move all of the results to a specific archive folder, that would not be part of the original email account.

Which seems ridiculous considering how big Google is. My biggest frustration is that to add more users to our account, we have to go to Square, who holds our account, for some reason. Can't this all be in one place?
