My Love-Hate Relationship
It is a love-hate relationship. When it works, it works well, but when it doesn't its a major pain and usually causes me to have to use a workaround which is not what we pay for.

It can be very temperamental and troublesome to use. Some of the logic of the operations does not mesh with real-life practices. Some of the things you think should work a certain way do not, and it causes extra work.

Like I said, it got the job done, but it wasn't my favorite platform.

This platform did what it needed to do, and it was nice to have an all-in-one platform for hiring, payroll changes, and time clocks.

Dayforce is a highly intelligent system with large reporting capabilities

The payroll system is intuitive and reports are robust.
Nachteile
Implementation was incredibly long and the support ticket advisors are usually poorly trained. During implementation we had several different project managers due to turnover. Most of the advisors we have had directly from Ceridian have been so siloed they did not understand how their section of the system effected other systems. This has caused many issues down the line for us. I am still correcting things set up wrong during implementation.

Six Years with Dayforce
Vorteile
The routine basics of setting up payroll including any adjustments for each pay period works smoothly. The audit features in the system highlight issues that should be looked at more closely before committing the pay. I like the export feature within the payroll process and use it to complete most analyses needed.
Nachteile
Other than standard reports, I feel that creating specialized reports has too many complications. I also think that adding/editing the General Ledger setup is too complex.

I enjoy the ability to view and approve my team members' vacation requests.

The user-experience is difficult. This may in part be due to our onboarding process, but we have had many struggles getting the system to work properly and understanding the various tools within the platform.

Good app for statements
My experience was satisfactory, it does the work of pay stubs and forms. The UI and UX can be better.

The pay stubs were elaborative, about hours, overtime, stat pays and the net pay percentage etc.

Difficult to use and crashes often

I like that it has my schedule, pay stubs, time clock and other information all in one place.
Nachteile
It works so poorly and is down all the time. The app just plain doesn't work at all (I have an iPhone 13 so the issue is not obsolete or incompatible tech) so I'm forced to use it via the browser which is not optimized for mobile at all. I have tried to contact the help desk for issues relating to clocking in and in getting the app to work, and didn't get a response at all.

Our employees find it mostly easy to use. They like the mobile punch and on-demand pay options.

Love/Hate Relationship with Dayforce
Dayforce is a fine system to use, with various issues hidden throughout. While my least favourite is the customer support, Dayforce also has a multitude of ways to find solutions on your own to avoid contacting customer support and spending large amounts of the company's money.I find Dayforce great and frustrating; there are so many good features with Dayforce that I'm looking forward to using, but I do find the system to be pretty convoluted. In order to fix ONE thing, I have to go through two to three different outlets within the system to make sure those work before this one thing is fixed.I do wish I had more positive things to say about Dayforce, but it's not the worst system I've used.
Vorteile
Easy to use features for both manager and employee. It's sleek-looking and doesn't require a lot of effort to learn how to use Dayforce. We are currently implementing document management and it seems simple, but effective.
Nachteile
Customer support has been both helpful and lacking. Helpful because of the forums, but it's very hit and miss with a rep. Sometimes I am given someone who is very helpful, provides guides, or reasonable answers within a good amount of time.Then there are times when I receive a rep who takes too long to answer or find out what the issue is, doesn't communicate, or doesn't initially fix the issue, causing more time and money (for the business).

Similar to Other Solutions, Not Great for Learning Feature
Overall experience as an end user was positive on the HR/Payroll side as far as interface and being intuitive. Disappointed with some features and functionality being sold as available but then unavailable when asking to see them in action.
Vorteile
I've used this from an end user perspective actively at one organization that chose this, and it was easy to use and navigate for the day to day HR, Payroll, Benefits, etc scope. The teams are fairly hands-on throughout implementation and they will do a lot to showcase wow-factors throughout the sales process until actual technical questions arise for some features.
Nachteile
In one experience evaluating this product as an all-in-one offering, we needed to ensure the Learning piece of functionality would suit our needs. It did not. The Learning product was presented as in-house and with their own roadmap for features and development. Every demo of this piece of the product was high level and they avoided getting detailed with backend/LMS admin features and setup. After getting to try it hands-on, we found out why. Despite being told all file types and sizes could be stored in the repository, this was not the case. We also uncovered many functionalities that we'd been told were available were, in fact, not. The backend at the time we evaluated this solution for Learning was actually powered by Docebo and not Ceridian. That is strictly the Learning content repository, not the HR solution side, to be clear. At any rate, the Learning solution was definitely not what was described to us in features, functionality, and in general based on our needs analysis. If you evaluate this solution, get all the right teams and experts involved that will ask the right questions and ask for a hands-on walkthrough of the backend. The demeanor of our sales contacts after inquiring about the absence of much of what was promised changed abruptly. Subsequent interactions were very negative overall with portions of the team.

Good if you need basic, cheap software; a joke otherwise
I had a love/hate relationship with it. It was easy to log in and out, the basis of the system to track employee hours. Many times in 2016/2017, the software wouldn't read those clicks though, so myself or colleagues would be working for several hours or off work for several hours only to realize our logging in or out hadn't took. Then we'd have to bother our boss to do it, who was hostile about doing so. Having worked in tech, I understand bug issues, but this is a big one to have. The software is affordable, which is why our company chose it. If the bug issues were resolved for good, I'd feel more confident recommending it.
Vorteile
I liked that the buttons were big and accessible and easy to see, and that they later modified different types of clocking in and out (lunches, etc). When they updated the software, you could tell they tried (and succeeded, partially) in simplifying some of the screens for users.
Nachteile
Past versions of Dayforce would freeze up a bit. Also, any time anything went wrong (sometimes a log in or out didn't take, sometimes a time would need to be edited) the manager or boss would have to personally modifying these issues. Under good management, this wouldn't be an issue. Under bosses who can barely handle stress and take systems errors out on their employees, it's a complete nightmare situation. This is where Dayforce could really look beyond coding issues and consider how to socially engineer better customer service solutions so even technically challenged supervisors can use the system easily.

All in one for human resources!
Vorteile
Dayforce is a great platform for many HR related purposes. You can track/assign employee hours and shifts, monitor and approve time off requests, and calculate payroll. In addition, it allows employees to monitor/track their benefits, retrieve pay sheets, change direct deposit information and more.
Nachteile
Compared to other software that is payroll only, Dayforce is a little clunky. It takes too many clicks to do simple things like adjusting time clocks, approving payroll, and using it as both a team manager AND an employee. Certain features, such as a manager adding a time off request for an employee, requires Silverlight, so we can only do that with Internet Explorer and no other browser.

Bumpy at best. Some days I actually say I miss ADP.

I like the 'one' database aspect the best.

Powerful, but tough to navigate
Dayforce probably has it all, and mgmt can give access to some degree, but i'm not sure what is Dayforce action and what is mgmt action. Overall, as employee, I'm sure there must be another software that is just as powerful, but more intuitive to use.

Mobile app makes it easiest to punch in and out for the day, but not for meals. Android app needs some tweeking to access icons for quick punch.
Nachteile
I expect that it is a powerful suite, but from an employee standpoint, it is not easy to navigate to access the options. There are not any "help" pages or chats, you just have to fish around and figure out which pages give you the actual options you are looking for. For instance, listing your availability, or note to mgr about an extra hour off at lunch to take care of something personal. Mgr was always complaining that she didn't find our notes. It was frustrating and caused ill feelings.

Dayforce divides its modules into clear sections that make sense; relatively easy to find what you're looking for. Inputting benefit elections is easy. The ability to see org structure on an employee's profile is very handy.
Nachteile
The software is slow and not very intuitive. It is very difficult to customize. There is no easy way to see useful information in one place so you have to flip between many screens. For benefit enrollments, you can apply changes to more than one item. For example, if an employee updated their beneficiaries, you need to click on each election and input the new information. There is no bulk edit.

Poor Customer Service Experience
Not a very pleasant experience when you ask for an additional customized report for eight months and it is not done yet.

The Customer Service is really poor. I have been asking for this report that I used with the system that I used with the system I had used prior to Ceridian Dayforce. It has been eight months and it is not done yet. It is impacting our HR and accounting system big time. The team that they outsource their job to, is not very competent even though I love to work with main Ceridian team.
It is really difficult to make any changes. I have to call customer support for almost everything as I dont have access to so many things to do.

Dayforce after 4 years
It brought HR, Payroll, Benefits into a more team oriented environment, which can be good. I think our implementation and overall experience would have been better if we weren’t rushed to go live.
Vorteile
Dayforce puts information into one platform, HR, Benefits, Payroll.
Nachteile
Functionality and reporting are clunky. It is hard to get information out and into one report. We have had to do more things manually, especially, in payroll than what we had to with a prior vendor.

Vorteile
I really the email notifications that it sends when someone has requested time away from work. It prompts you 2x daily that there are requests awaiting your approval
Nachteile
I am not a fan of the reporting functions. There are to many places that offer reporting, I prefer all reports set ups to be in one central location

Getting Better
The ease of use with Dayforce has been dependent on how well our legacy information has come over during implementation and the learning of the users. My biggest hurdle has been that with HR/PR SQL, I knew everything and how to fix it, this has been a steep learning curve for me.
Vorteile
The integration between HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance and Benefits is the main reason we went with Dayforce. It gave us an all inclusive solution to our needs
Nachteile
The reliance on Silverlight has been the main drawback, but that is going away soon. The other issue has been a latency issue for our satellite users; the time to load IE has been a problem but the ability to use Chrome has helped.

Easy to use but the function is limited
It is easy to use, when the function is there. But really, it is so limited. Hopefully, it can allow me to do more.
Vorteile
I use both ADP and Dayforce. There seems no much difference between them. I don’t prefer either. For Dayforce, I like it most is it is straigt forward to use, when the function is there.
Nachteile
I don’t like the software is the function is so limited and restricted. I cannot change direct deposit; cannot change W2 form; even cannot update my personal information like phone number and address. So, the functionality is very basic to me. I need to seek other ways for more functions.

What DayForce does well, it does very well. This includes data uploads, basic reporting, and payroll processing. Getting the system to function as intended, however, is a significant undertaking.

-High level of customization within reporting
-Periodic updates from Ceridian on upcoming compliance and system changes
-Processing basic payroll is relatively easy and simple.
Nachteile
-Implementation is difficult
-DayForce terminology is not very intuitive, especially at first
-Complex reports can be difficult to configure
-Every feature/module talks to other modules; requiring users to go to multiple different screens to make changes.

6 Months live on Dayforce HCM
Streamlined some of our manual processes, better reporting options, Automatic carrier feeds, etc
Vorteile
It's evolving at a steady pace with features and functionality. We have been through one new release and it included a brand new benefits and payroll modules that thankfully did not replace the previous modules for now so it wasn't disruptive. We have ample time to learn the new modules before they completely replace the old. The support model has been mostly very good.
Nachteile
There are still some bugs with the new functionality. I wish there was more control over the data to have an efficient method of fixing records that have bad data. I also think the learning curve is long to learn the advanced reporting methods of creating new topics.

Vorteile
It is all linked together to the time clock and easy to maneuver through the site.
Nachteile
I think the support needs much work. You have to submit a ticket and have to wait too much time to get an answer that doesn't really usually answer the question. You should be able to call in a number and speak to someone right away and walk you through your fix.
