Paylocity is an agravating time clock and needs serious help and upgrading to actually be user...
This tedious piece of tech has caused me a ridiculous amount of frustration just trying to accomplish a SIMPLE task that should barely be given thought during the working day. The whole point, I thought, was to make the experience seamless and help productivity. I am highly annoyed that my company chose Paylocity over the system we had previously, which I never gave a second thought, and mind you, can't recall the name of because it WAS THAT EFFICIENT. I am not the only person at my company who had had to make due with this sub par program. It needs serious work to make it actually function, and is not worth whatever my company paid for it.

I am not a fan of Paylocity at all, to be frank. I am an employee who has to use this unfortunate piece of software, and on my end...it's a hair pulling fest more often than not.
Nachteile
1. The fact that I have to SIGN in and then PUNCH in. If I had to do it only ONCE a day, it would be less of a bear. But I have to clock in and out four times. There is no idle clock timer or somesuch that can even be reset, so I have to slog through this redundant system four times every day. I love how going to "sign in" for my lunch break, that it has to sign me out first. ?? That's maddening.
2. How Paylocity loves to forget that I'm only on ONE device every week or two. There's nothing like trying to clock in and spending two minutes having to answer a security question while it spins its wheels. This is NOT efficient, and agravating. Other employees at my company have endured the same slovenly programmed issue.
3. It's finicky as all get out when trying to put in for time off. You can't fill in certain fields, or it will hiccup. You also can't put in for several days in a row because of the same, so of course, there's the tedious process of entering EVERY day you need separately. And, a simple mouse click and Paylocity's whim can even deny you a day off, which you then have to question your manager about, who admits it was the software. AGAIN.
4. Loading time. Again, I love going to clock in on time or early and have Paylocity play games such as taking it's sweet time to load the screen, or populate the field with my password so I can properly log in on top of everything else I have mentioned. Because I have a ludicrous amount of passwords I need to type in for my job already, the last thing I need is to have to remember ONE MORE.

One of the Best Employee Management and Payroll Systems Available
FANTASTIC! They have wonderful customer service, the platform is beautiful and intuitive, the functionality is amazing... Highly recommended for anyone looking for an all-in-one employee management system!

Paylocity is basically an all-in-one HR, benefits, payroll, compliance, and employee files storing software. Through it, you can find onboard new employees, assign compliance training, process reimbursements, access an org chart, pull customizable reports on demand, and even include different OpCo employees in the org chart, even if they're not listed as employees within your actual company.
Nachteile
This is incredibly nitpicky but I really wish the "work email" feature was more prominently featured within employee demographics and profiles. It's there and available, but not super easy to find if you don't know where to look, and also is not listed in the Report Writer as an option for a field. To pull all email addresses in the company, you have to pull a specific demographics report and modify the information in that report to exclude all the other unnecessary details.

Paylocity Pros & Cons
Our relationship got off to a VERY rocky start and while things have definitely improved we continue to have concerns about your ability to provide adequate support for our needs.
Vorteile
I always try to find the positives and there are good things about Paylocity - especially their reporting tool. Their customer support has almost always been very friendly. Payroll is straightforward and easy to use.
Nachteile
Needs more seamless integration with all of the available products offered - specifically with Time & Labor. I would really like to see clients have more abilities to make changes without the need to always wait for client support to return calls/emails. It has become more and more clear that as Paylocity has grown that you are unable to keep up with the support needs of your clients. There also seem to be a lot of areas where the information is redundant and seems like it could be streamlined to make the platform more efficient.

Fantastic Product and Support
Vorteile
I love many features about Paylocity. The ease of use is outstanding and the dedicated customer support is fantastic!
Nachteile
We moved away from Paylocity simply for the fact they do not offer international payroll. We needed a system that could integrate various countries into one platform for ease of use. Had it not been our goal to consolidate our processing, I would still be with them.

Oh gosh...how much time do you have??? There are so many issues. I guess I'll try to hit the highlights. The City mandated paid sick time- it took them SIX MONTHS to get this programmed CORRECTLY. My ACA forms were completed incorrectly. I received notices from the IRS for two of my four companies that the forms needed to be redone and resubmitted. Paylocity never responded to my WEEKLY requests for updates on the status of the corrections. I ended up manually correcting and resubmitting myself. We made updates to our 401k plan. It took a month for them to get the matches calculated correctly and we didn't know until Q3 that when they did the set-up, they click a box to over-ride IRS regs (WHY is there even such a thing???) so I had employees that over contributed and over matched. When raising the issue with PL, the Rep said to just refund the excess (clearly he had no idea about 401k rules). On another occassion, last check of the year, my payroll person had to re-process a check for someone with 401k. When re-running the check she noticed the 401k contribution was missing (she didn't realize he hit the yearly max) so she contacted Paylocity. The Rep told her to CHANGE THE EMPLOYEE'S DOB!!!! so the system would allow a catch-up contribution and then change it back after she processed the check. HE WAS NOT ALLOWED A CATCH-UP. Needless to say, the employee received a distribution the next year for the excess contribution. HORRIBLE response to issues.

Paylocity has an amazing support team. When I need something, I call and someone is there to help me immediately. I never have to wait on hold or for a call back. Very user friendly!
Nachteile
The implementation was rough, that was three years ago, so maybe things have changed, but I was over promised and underdeliverd. The sales team needs to work better to truly understand all the things the systems can and can't do

All in One HR Software
Vorteile
Paylocity makes it easy for us to manage everything from onboarding, timekeeping, PTO, and payroll. We had two separate systems for timecards and payroll and no system for onboarding before and Paylocity has helped us go almost completely paperless. Timekeeping is easy and the mobile app is excellent for the employees.
Nachteile
Since the product is modular (pick and choose which modules you would like), some processes require a little hopping between applications but everything works very well together.

Easy to Get Lost in the Amount of Functions Paylocity Provides
With Paylocity, our company keeps track of everyone's hours worked for our various clients on a number of tasks so that the appropriate client can be billed accurately for the work done. We also use it to great benefit to track pay and paid time off. Other than some qualms with the ease of use, Paylocity has been a great success at our company.
Vorteile
Paylocity makes it easy to track and fill out our time worked every day. While that is where it finds its daily usage on my end, Paylocity also has a number of additional functions to its website capabilities. With Paylocity, I can keep track of my paychecks, my available time off hours, request time off, and monitor those requests.
Nachteile
Paylocity's interface and number of functions can make it rather difficult to find the section of the site I am looking for at times. We have to input our time and tasks into Paylocity regularly, but the site's security logs users out after only a few minutes of inactivity, though it only logs out once you try to update a timesheet or navigate to a new page on the site, and I have found it to be buggy at times when trying to log back in after this occurs. Some sort of timer and "keep me logged in" option, or at least an automatic logout after X amount of minutes, would be incredibly beneficial.

Some flaws, but still probably the best HR system I've used.
Overall experience has been positive. Can escalate service issues with Paylocity sales staff as needed.

The system is constantly being updated. Previous issues I've had with the system, such as confusion on how job descriptions are listed have been fixed in future updates.
Nachteile
Reporting can be a struggle since many standard reports from Paylocity involve merged cells without one single row of data. Customer service is very hit or miss depending on responds to the requests.

Gets the job done
Vorteile
It has been a while since we switched over to Paylocity, and I suppose that speaks to how well it works, but I specifically remember the implementation process being very easy. For our purpose, mostly payroll, Paylocity works perfectly fine. It does not have the best user interface, but it works just fine. As a payroll administrator, you have a lot of autonomy to make changes as you need without having to call in.
Nachteile
Reporting can be a bit of a pain. They market their reporting system as easy and you can create any report you want from the fields that are in there, but creating a custom report is much harder than we thought. Many times, we find ourselves calling in to get the report that we need/want. And even then, if we export it to excel, it has so many spaces and gaps that it makes it difficult to play with. Their customer service can also be lacking. We rarely ever get our rep on the phone and they always take so long to get back to us when our issues are more complicated such as getting a W-2 corrected or amendments on tax returns.

Hands down best HR program out there. We have tried multiple different options and none have the suite of functionality and options Paylocity has. Definitely a very happy customer.

Pros and Cons
Overall it has been a good experience and a good value for the price.
Vorteile
We are a small firm (10 employees), so we did not need a robust system to manage our current payroll. We were looking for something which would grow with us, so we wouldn't need to change systems. Paylocity offers many tools which we are not currently using, but will need in the future. It is very easy to run Payroll, Customer Service is timely in their responses and keeping the customer updated if an issue takes a little more time to resolve.
Nachteile
The connection to our financial software system, QuickBooks Online, is not intuitive. Even after a year and a half of using Paylocity, the connection is still not set up properly because the heavy lifting is done by the user. It would be helpful if Paylocity would take a more active role in setting up the link.

Paylocity Review
Overall, I love Paylocity. I implemented Paylocity at my old employer and when I switched job, I implemented the new employer to Paylocity too.
Vorteile
The best part of this software is how user friendly it is. I also really like the customer service. Having my own designated representative is very important to me and saves a lot of time. We utilize a lot of the features of this software and really don't have any complaints. Whenever there is something that needs improvement, you can request an enhancement and the team will look into fixing it.
Nachteile
I wish there was the ability to quickly calculate time off balances on the employee screen while including approved PTO requests in the future. There are a few things in the performance dashboard that I didn't love, however I am hoping to get these resolved before next year with help from the Paylocity team.

Very few kinks
Overall, implementation was good and reporting is one of the few bumps. We expect as we use the system and learn it better, we can make it work for us.
Vorteile
It was easy to roll over into paylocity from our old system and we like that we are able to still cut payroll checks in-house. The time management and benefit feature is nice and the portal is very user-friendly.
Nachteile
This was the most expensive solution we looked at. While we decided it was probably the best for our uses, the jury is still out on whether it is worth the money or not. We have found that our old system produced better reports that were specific to our industry (restaurant) and that Paylocity does not have the same reports set up.

Paylocity makes HR processes painless
The integration of their modules make it easy to track employee participation and completion. I love having a digital record of all HR processes - compensation, performance reviews, training, tax documents, etc. Less paper in the employee file. The information is readily available to associate's who are able to ask relevant questions to HR.
Vorteile
I love the suite of integrated platforms. The work flow from Applicant Tracking to Hiring to Web Benefits. It all fits together and makes daily tasks so much easier.
Nachteile
It was a challenge to get the COBRA file information flowing to the carriers from Web Benefits.
It is difficult to make a change to submitted time off requests. The entire entry must be deleted instead of allowing for modifications.

Great product for a growing business

Payroll Management
In general, we’ve had a good experience with this software. Paylocity has worked well to meet the payroll needs of our company. IT’s been easy to use and helps us to quickly and efficiently take care of the employee timekeeping and payroll each week. Paylocity manages all of the direct deposit, payroll deductions, payments to tax agencies, insurance companies and garnishments, et cetera, so that we don’t have to employ an in-house Payroll expert. Employees have an online profile that they can log into, where they can manage their information and can pull up their pay history. In a small company like ours, we appreciate the ability to oursource the heavy lifting of the payroll responsibilities. Paylocity has done a great job in this regard, and they are responsive when we need to give them a call for support.
Vorteile
Once you get Paylocity set up, the interface to input employee information and employee time is pretty easy to use, and we have never had issue with any software “glitches”. Whenever there has been any error, it was because of garbage in, garbage out. Paylocity automates all the payroll processing, so as long as the correct data is input each week, the whole weekly payroll process is painless and mostly effortless. The software's reporting features are good, and offer plenty of standardized reports that fit our needs, so we're able to easily handle the payroll accounting with our small office staff.
Nachteile
Paylocity's support is OK, but could be better. We have an account manager that handles our account, and you have to call or email your account manager. If I need an explanation, or support with an issue, leave a message and have to wait for her to get back to me. Often it takes a lot of back and forth to get the issue resolved, usually days, not hours.

Paylocity is a game changer
This software has transformed how we work as an HR team. Further, it has made day to day processes easier and put data in the hands of leaders quickly, where in the past both things would have been highly time consuming and often paper based.
Vorteile
Everything? We are using time and attendance, payroll, benefits administration, learning, surveys, applicant tracking, and onboarding. We also use data insights frequently. If I had to pick a favorite right now, it would be learning (the LMS), as we have used that a great deal over the past year of working and training as a remote workforce.
Nachteile
None that I can think of. When we have had an issue, the support team is quickly able to address the issue and we are always seeing system improvements.

Easy to use, end users have been impressed
Vorteile
The end user employees are able to take care of most questions and issues themselves through the Self Service Portal. Our semi-monthly payroll entry is simple. Like how the recruiting information for a new employee rolls over to onboarding and HR seamlessly.
Nachteile
There are some processes that aren't intuitive. For example, setting up HSA bank accounts for individual employees. The integration with our benefits software is a little buggy. There have been errors and I still have to go into our benefits system to make sure terminations and new employees are rolling over.

Paylocity rocks!
Overall, it's great to have everything in one place and to have the different modules interact with each other. Much easier than previous products we've used!
Vorteile
I love the idea of having almost all of the aspects of my job in one place! For the most part, the software is easy to use. The Impressions in the Self-Service section is used by our staff for our annual awards, as well as, a way to say good things about your co-workers. Paylocity ROCKS!!!
Nachteile
Onboarding can be a bit difficult to use. I had to send the link 3 times for our last new employee because it wouldn't let her in. It's not as instinctual as I'd like.

Paylocity Review
It has been a great experience. The transfer from one company to another was almost seamless. I am still learning but it offers so much more to take our company into the future.
Vorteile
The reports have really helped a lot in our business; they are very customizable. I also like how much information you are able to put in for the employees from their name to their shirt size. Another item that we use that has really impacted the business is the training tracker. It allows me to keep up with where I am on the employees training.
Nachteile
So far the only thing that I have found that I like the least is the transfer of time to payroll. That is the only thing that our previous provider did was that there was no transfer of time to payroll.

OVERALL, I'M MORE THAN HAPPY WITH THIS PROGRAM AND HAVE RECOMMENDED IT TO SEVERAL COMPANIES.

TIME & ATTENDANCE, EASY PAYROLL PROCESS, EASY EMPLOYEE SET UP. IMPLEMENTATION WAS EASY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALWAYS QUICK, FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. PRICED LESS MY FORMER PROGRAM. I LIKE THAT ALL MY TAXES AND GARNISHMENTS ARE PAID DIRECTLY AS WELL.

Aside from the glitches... it isn't the most intuitive program out there!
Ease of on-boarding (especially with remote employees), ease of storing and locating new hire documents, self-service portal for employees.
Vorteile
It does its job (for the most part). On-boarding employees (remote employees in particular) is much easier when using this software versus emailing back and forth or using something like Dropbox or Docusign. Using this program allows the employer to store on-boarding documents easily and without any fuss. That's about the only thing it does right. The analytics and data that the software compiles is a cool feature, but we have not really found it to be practical in our day-to-day. We have not found a real use for it yet.

The software is glitchy, to say the least. I often have issues with employees being randomly and suddenly unable to log in, even though there isn't any issue with the account. While employees can easily access pay stubs and check history, they are not always able to download necessary documents such as W2s or stubs. I have had a few employees report error messages to me. Honestly we all expect it to malfunction at least once a week if not more, and that is the most annoying part. It isn't consistent.

Paylocity Review
Overall, Paylocity has been amazing for me, and I am really glad that Mathnasium decided to use this software. I definitely prefer the app on my phone over the website. It has been such a lifesaver because I can quickly access and view my schedule on the go.
Vorteile
Overall, this is such a great software because it is so simple and easy to use. You can set up Face ID or have the app logged in for up to 3 months, which is really nice because it gets annoying to manually log in whenever you need to clock in or out. I also really like how easy it is to view your timesheet. I enjoy how they add up the hours worked for you which saves a lot of time. It is also so easy to view your schedule and current/past checks.
Nachteile
Honestly, I haven't experienced too many glitches or inconveniences. The only thing that has happened is sometimes when I request time off it doesn't let me press submit until I click on every option. This is really weird because it never happened before, and it has only happened in the past few months.

We love Paylocity and are often approached by other companies asking us to view their product. My response is always that I can't even image what they have could be better than what we have with Paylocity.
Vorteile
Paylocity is easy to navigate for our employees. A busy, growing company needs all the help it can get in helping employees be somewhat self sufficient. We are able to keep all of our employee data in one spot and have easy access to customizable reporting.
Our service support team is responsive and so helpful. We don't have to be experts in anything when we have them working alongside us to solve problems and issues that arise with benefits and payroll administration.
Nachteile
Can't think of anything I dislike., we have been very pleased!

Paylocity, an intuitive and robust HRIS
Overall, our experience with Paylocity has been very positive. Their website is easy to use. Knowledgeable assistance is readily available by phone, email, chat, or educational resources if questions arise.

Paylocity's modules are intuitive and robust. Enhancements are regularly rolled out to improve and increase functionality. We continue to look for opportunities to leverage this to our advantage. The level of customer service and availability of helpful resources is by far the best we have experienced. We're very happy with our decision to partner with Paylocity.
Nachteile
The Performance module has been strengthened in a number of areas recently, which we appreciate. Review Items (i.e. job-specific competencies) is one area that would benefit from a closer review. Currently, there is not an easy way to determine which positions have been assigned a specific Review Item. This can make resolving discrepancies very challenging.

Great Fit....Until We Paid For It
It started off wonderful - then it turned into a nightmare. We're looking for replacements less than 90 days into our contract with them.
Vorteile
The initial onboarding was actually pretty seamless. We had a team of specialized implementation consultants who walked us through each facet of the platform (employee management, training, onboarding, benefits, etc.). We issued our first payroll without a hitch. The response time was excellent whenever we had questions or an issue.
Nachteile
Once our check cleared, the service went straight down the tube. Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - takes accountability for anything when you have an issue. You are passed around and around and around to different teams and departments until you figure it out for yourself.The reporting mechanism is clunky as heck. Their knowledge base is primitive and mostly useless - and it's the support team's favorite response: "Have you check the knowledge base?"

Best HCM software I've used!
This is the best HCM software that I've used compared to ADP, Sage Abra, Paychex, and PlanSource.

The ease of use is great, the software is so user friendly and easy to learn.

There are a couple of functionalities that I wish we had within the system and that the report write tool would be easier to use.

Decent System but still lack luster
Its been ok. I've been able to use it to the best I can and show the employees how to use it. The software for the most part is easy and most people like it better then our old product.
Vorteile
My favorite thing about the software is Community, Onboarding and Recuriting. Community is a super fun tool that allows our employees to connect with each other with has been difficult throughout the pandemic. Onboarding is easy and fun and recuriting is a piece of cake! I love being able to everything in one system. We love the mobile app too!
Nachteile
PTO is very confusing to track and to allow employees to understand. In order to add on anything it takes forever and the Self Service Portal looks a little out of date.

Happy Customer
No system is perfect, but we are overall happy with Paylocity. They have multiple modules that we just keep adding on that make connecting with employees and having one system for multiple aspects of the business very easy.
Vorteile
Paylocity is easy to use for users. I love that the company is always improving the software and values feedback. Our account manager is always helpful. I manage payroll and Paylocity makes it very easy to complete and I love how there are so many things that integrate with the system. For instance, our 401(k) provider connects, as well as the benefits module.
Nachteile
The reporting is not very user-friendly for what we use it for, especially expense reports. But overall they are always making improvements and asking for feedback, which makes me hopeful that the reports will improve more.

Excellent Payroll Service
Paylocity has made our jobs easier, more accurate, more efficient and take less time to look up the history of an employee. If something goes wrong, Paylocity fixes it right away, their customer services is impeccable, they are attentive and very knowledgeable in the payroll and hr field. I love that they are compliant in each state which makes making sure we are compliant in all areas easy.

I love Paylocity. The reports are easy to use, I can even create a custom report for exactly what I am looking for. I love the ease of adding a new employee, setup between multiple services is amazing and makes our job that much easier.
Nachteile
Transferring an employee between different companies. That section does not work properly. I feel that I should be able to click on what I would like to transfer from 1 company to the next.

Great Service at a Great Price
Once we got our system up and running, it has worked great. We have had to make a few adjustments due to changes in government regulations, and the team at Paylocity was very quick and efficient at making the changes.
Vorteile
The product is very user-friendly. The implementation team took the time to make sure all of our concerns were met and that all staff members were adequately trained before they turned everything over to us.
Nachteile
On rare occasions, the Time and Attendance gets a little goofy when entering hours, but overall it is very effective. The only Con I can think of is the inability to add a note/comment to an employee's file when they are terminated. It would be helpful to add comments instead of only selecting from a pre-set list of reasons for termination.

Vorteile
I am in Paylocity all day every day. It is good for general use of keeping track of employees' hours, information, and payroll. I also use it for recruiting and government reporting. Their customer service is excellent.
Nachteile
It can be confusing to start a new module. Everything is decapitated and costs extra money.

HR Manager's Best Friend
I like Paylocity a lot and as a company we are very satisfied with the software and currently wouldn't look to change HR & Payroll systems unless something significantly better or more cost effective came along. As long as Paylocity keep moving forward and making the userability experience their focus we will remain a customer.

Nachteile
There are some minor features that have bugs that I have bought up over a year ago that have yet to be fixed. The PTO tracking feature is not very user friendly and causes a lot of confusion amongst employees and admins alike.

Can't get paid without Paylocity
Paylocity has made my life easier. Lets me track my hours, track my vacation and makes my paystubs available whenever I need them. It also keeps me ahead of the game at tax time so I may get my taxes done right away with no wait. My work and monetary lives would not be the same without Paylocity.
Vorteile
I love that I can schedule my vacation through this software. All I have to do is put in my request and wait for it to be approved. I love how it also keeps me up to date on how many vacation days left. I like that HR can send out messages to us, also. This is how they let us know about special events.
Nachteile
Sometime when I punch out or in, the software doesn't always update. But my HR department can fix it every time, so no big deal.

Decent HRIS system with cool features
Pretty positive experience aside from the constant page time-outs or error outs.

I really liked the community page where you could post updates and photos. Employees could then post comments responding to the original post and interact with the post.

It often times would time-out or error out while you were using it, so you would have to reload the page or log out and back in fairly frequently.

Good product
Overall, we have enjoyed Payolocity as our payroll software. My only complaint would be some features that we are not able to change or integrate with other software for our industry and I feel like Paylocity has grown significantly since we originally purchased the product and there is a small decline in promptness of reply on support issues.

Easy with Paylocity
Transition has been good. If we run into any trouble we can always call customer support & we get to talk to a live person very quickly. Most of the time the issue is resolved quickly.

A Good Fit For Us
Our experience overall has been a good one. Personally, I believe Paylocity is a good fit for our company. It’s enabled us to manage all of our payroll needs for our company, including multiple departments and cost centers. Processing payroll is fairly easy and straightforward. Paylocity handles all of the payroll deductions and sends the payments to the appropriate tax/government agency/insurance company etc.
Employees get an electronic pay stub which can be printed if they wish. By going into the Employee Portal, they can also view or print their older pay stubs at any time. This gives employees a lot of visibility into their own pay history. Some employees have had difficulty navigating the system but most seem to appreciate the employee portal.
Vorteile
Paylocity's WebPay offers a large number of standard reports, and also the ability to create custom reports. I haven’t tried to create a custom report as the reports we use were already created and in use by the time I was hired. I have to say that I’ve found the reports we use give me all the information I need as an accountant, and I’m happy with the level of detail I have access to in the reports and the ability to export the data into an Excel file.
We're quite pleased with the customer service we've received. We have a dedicated payroll specialist at Paylocity who has been very responsive whenever we’ve needed assistance. Sometimes she will need to look into an issue for me and get back to me. She always comes through in a timely fashion and we have no complaints about support.
Nachteile
Some of our employees have complained that they have trouble navigating the employee portal. Typically these have been employees that aren’t terribly tech savvy, so if you have similar issues there could be a learning curve but eventually most can learn to use the system without too much trouble.
